Made rev matching look beautiful
It was ok, he was granny shifting the upshifts though
@@albertoj.mollinedo4116 on a winding 2 lane road with traffic I fully commend him for the granny upshifts
Man, I want this car so bad. I have been wanting to drive one ever since they came out. If I hit the lottery, would be the first purchase I make. I would pay for college 2nd. Gt350 is always first
Haha, I like those priorities!
Exoticars19 so do I lol. I just did the exotics racing experience and drove 9 cars including a 458, and that would be my 3rd purchase. Unbelievable car. The videos are on my channel if you want to check it out. The last video will be posted tomorrow morning
Oh awesome! I did hat a couple years aho. Went around in a Scuderia, Gallardo Superleggera, R8 V10+, 911 GT3, and Aventador. Sweet experience!
Have you driven one yet? This was the first car I reviewed with over 400 horsepower. It blew my mind!!!
MaxSpeed he’s got a 392 now.. ;)
Many thanks for your most helpful and instructional video. I just picked up my GT350 a few weeks ago and realized you cannot do a traditional heel/toe downshift with the way the accelerator is situated. So, rolling your right foot to blip the throttle while maintaining some pressure on the brake obviously is the correct approach. I love the POV drive mode you incorporated into this video. Very clear as well. What a great vehicle. Mine is white with the blue stripe. My biggest surprise was how easy the car is to drive around town and even in bad traffic. Ford knocked this one out of the park!
Love the angle where i can see you shift gears. So cool and relaxing to watch
Thank you! Glad you liked it :)
Thanks for this video! I'm learning to drive manual and first gear is the most frustrating, so watching you in first gear from a stand still really helped out alot! Thanks again!
Thanks! Glad this could help!
Real quick I just wanted to say I thought this video would turn out a bit better than it did. I think next time I'm going to use a dedicated mic for better audio and do the drive at dawn/dusk to get better lighting. I'll try again soon! Thanks for the reassurance because for the longest time I thought I was downshifting wrong but now I see I'm doing it right.
Perfect view, I enjoyed it.
This video makes me feel like I was actually driving this beast.......thumbs up.....
Finally some good weather to Drive Down here 👌🏾 great vid
Thanks! Weather has certainly been getting much better, need to make as many driving videos while I can haha.
Thinking of reading in my zl1 for one. But just don’t know if the whole clutch is for me, watching this video helped me get a better understanding. So thank you !
This video was like therapy. Greatly enjoyable to watch.
Thanks! Glad you liked it :)
Just wanted to drop a thanks for all your videos and I hope you keep making more. Your videos helped a lot when I was making the decision to buy my GT350. Ford, PAY THIS MAN!
Hahaha, they should. lol, thanks man, glad you're liking the vids!
Awesome car! Thumbs up every time I see one
Thanks Derek!
the revs in this car is insane too
Great video , like watching how you heal toe on the down shift.. I'm learning.... Thanks B....
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed :)
That was an awesome video!!
Great driving view 😁
3:54 he looked in the blind spot before he changed the lane
Music to my ears 🎶😍
Loving the content! ‘18 350 here! Just curious, how did you mount the camera in the back? I’ve been trying to find the best way to do it.
I can’t seem to get good placement on the pedals for heel toe in my 16 gt350. Need to do some more research
I’m so anxious man. I’m over thinking about trying to figure out how he knows what to habitually do/what speed to achieve/what gear he should be in; everything it takes to operate a manual. I don’t think it’s as complicated as I’m making it out and what I’ve researched, but it’s still not that clear having never been taught how to drive one from a young age. I’ll be buying a manual and practicing, but that won’t be till 2 months from now lol.
that's really a great video!
Thank you!
Nice driving man
How did you mount the go pro to view the pedals.
Also did you do anything to bring the gas pedal closer to the brake. I can’t heel toe my gt350 for the life of me
Thanks man...I grew up on manuals but haven’t driven one in 15 years...just bought a Gt350r. Thought about paying 400 bucks on an auto blip but yah why did I buy a car like this if I can’t drive it so I’m working relentlessly on this rev matching. It should be second nature in no time. Timing is off but it’s getting there. Only had it 2 days lol
i wish you would have more footwork videos with your POV drives. they're very helpful to learn the skills.
I'll be sure to make more
6:06 how do you know when to get go of the clutch, the stand still parts are what I'm looking for.
I'm afraid I'm riding the clutch but you held it on just about as long as I do :/ but I get a lurch as I let off.
do you have to revmatch like that manually? doesnt the car have auto revmatch? im learning too
I can rev match in my 17 gt, but not heel toe yet. Hard to brake and blip with the gas pedal being further in than the brake.
TheJoey99 i mastered in my own car who has this really weird fucking gas pedal. Trick is to not try to use the heel, but the right side of the foot, by tilting. But it’s still tricky.
TheJoey99 yep I have the same problem in my gt17.
dont know about the 17 gt but i tried heel toeing in the 18 Ecoboost(which i think has the same pedals as the 18 gt?) and LOVED the pedal placement
I made the jump from a '15 GT to a '20 GT350. I rode that GT for 97,000 miles and could never master a heel-toe in anything outside of maximum deceleration settings without making the car lurch. There was either an aggressive change in brake input or not enough throttle to 'pop' the revs up. That being said, there's something about the sharper throttle tip-in and less aggressive initial bite to the 350's pedals that makes heel-toeing masterfully easy. Like night and day. I've mastered heel-toeing in it since the second day, regardless of how light or heavy my braking happens to be. Food for thought.
Same man! I have a 16 gt and I can’t heel toe to save my life. I’ve been trying to do it so many ways. tried to break with my heel and blip the gas with my toe. That didn’t work to well. Lol!
Awesome video
Thanks Robert!
Damn good video !
Thanks Miguel!
Beautiful makes want one instead of a terminator, you got a subscriber.
OMG I've been trying to learn how to rev match in my 16 gt forever but could never get the concept down cuz i needed to see the footwork and the gear shift at the same time! This helped a ton thank you so much lol!
Thanks! Glad this could help!
Please make more I’ve these man!
Will do!
Good video!!!
My 22 GT has the automatic rev match in it, and although it takes out so much of the necessary talent to drive manual, it really does feel like it speeds up the downshifting process. I learned how to drive manual with it on but I intend to practice the traditional way once I have more experience under my belt. Awesome video
Same. So, 8 months later, what has changed for you? Any tips for someone who hasn’t took that step to attempt it yet?
@@David-fl4xw well, I still haven’t attempted driving without assisted rev match because I have focused more on trying to make sure my shifts become better all of the time.
To me, I think that’s what driving a manual is all about. Sometimes, you just make a bad shift and you feel it in the car a little bit. But as you drive it more, and learn the car, it happens much less. And sometimes you have bad days when you don’t feel that great or whatever and maybe you accidentally let out on the clutch a little more than you needed to and the car jerks. It happens.
But the more you do it, the more natural it feels. I pretty much never mess up getting out of first gear, it feels so natural to me now. Almost like riding a bike.
I’ve learned that you pick up little tricks that make the drive better.
Give a little throttle(barely touching the gas pedal) when releasing the clutch while up shifting can sometimes make the shift feel a lot smoother. Also, you don’t want to ever just dump the clutch, unless you’re racing someone lol. For me, I adopted this type of “hiccup” technique. But it happens fast and fluent. Kind of pause for like half a second while releasing the clutch when upshifting in the lower gears helps not upset the car. This technique especially helps with downshifting as well.
Amazing video bro. I love it. I always wanted one bit I can't afford it I've stay driving my 00 Mitsubishi eclipse gt 5-speed. If I had the money I would get a 2018 Shelby. Thumbs up to the video and amazing shifting skills bro. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK 👍🏽💯🔥
Thanks Traquan!
Eclipses r dope tho 👌
Oh man, I'm glad I know what watch to buy.
Glad to hear
always ask back when you are in the process of being drafted. its a tip for when you get drafted.
So rev matching is where you like full throttle and let out the clutch?
Question new to Manuel, when downshifting and doing rev match do I need to give it gas as I let off the clutch and get the the catch point or can I just let the clutch out then give it gas
You put the clutch in, shift gear, give it some gas, and than lift off of the clutch
Does the mustang have adjustable foot pedal?
My friend does not know.
This being the most recent manual transmission car that I drove, it's good to see I wasn't driving it like a total novice
On the foot work do you press the clutch and then brake before you make a complete stop?
Ajay McClendon Yes. edit: if you don’t put the clutch in when you come to a complete stop, you will stall the car
Def good video, earned a sub. I would def like to see more foot work videos. Also, does rev matching downshifting harm the car in anyway? I think with the new tranny’s with syncros, it shouldn’t
Thanks! And no, in fact it preserves the clutch.
Very nice video! I'm still a manual learner and this helped me understand some stuff. However, I was told when shifting to 2nd, 3rd, etc... you still have to release the clutch slowly (not as slow as first obviously) but in this video, it looks like you're releasing it pretty quickly. Same goes for 1st - when I first drove manual my friend told me to release it VERY slowly but in this video, it looks very quick. Could you help me clear up the reason why? Is it because it varies from car to car?
Bailey54321100 it depends on what rpm you at. If you are shifting to 2nd at 2500 you release the clutch slow. If you are shifting to 2nd at 7000 you release the clutch fast.
What Dinokill said. Also for releasing the clutch quickly rolling into 1st, you just get the feel for it and become quicker over time :)
I see. So the speed at which you release the clutch depends on the rpm?
Yes, at redline you can drop the clutch as quick as you want. At 2,500 you need to feel it out.
Ah okay thank you guys for helping me understand.
So when you going to track that thing at COTA?
Great vid brother. I truly love your car, color combo and all.
Let me know if you're ever interested in selling someday. I'll buy it from you, because I know its been well taken care of by a cool automotive enthusiast.👍
keep up the great vids.
Man your car sounds awesome!
Thanks man! Will do :)
thank you👍
Pretty cool that you’ve got a little partnership with an Australian watch company!
Yeah I'm grateful they wanted to partner up for this!
I love that car so much!
Was there supposed to be heel toe braking in this video? I guess I missed it.
Man you need to make a vid on how to downshift. I struggle so much to do so in my 17 GT
I'm thinking about making another transmission tutorial using my GT350 and I will also cover downshifting
Practice makes it perfect! Keep practicing!
Nico Djulianto thanks, you’re right! I’m getting a little better every day
joohnny37 you mean rev matching? It's really easy bro. Clutch in, blip the throttle (quickly tap the gas), and go down to the next appropriate gear. It not only slows the engine down, makes the transmission shift smoothly, but it also gives you that amazing sound your gt is waiting to show everyone :)
Parksimity do I release the clutch slowly or release it as I would normally switching gears?
You can rev match down shift without braking? Wasn't aware! This video is definitely helpful.
What!! Lol. Yeah bro. Makes your breaks last longer.
not sure if anyone will see this but i could use some advice. I bought my gt350 back in late november 2019. it’s my first manual car and i feel very confident after 2 months of driving, very smooth shifts, hard pulls, etc. Where i’m having the problem tends to be in my 3rd to 2nd gear downshift. I can’t quite get the rev match perfectly and there’s always a tiny little jolt. it’s nothing major but just enough to piss me off. if anyone has any advice i would appreciate it. thanks.
Hey exotic, I’m thinking of getting a Shelby gt350. I currently own a 2016 gt auto, and want to upgrade to that screaming V8. I currently live in Orlando and can get quite “trafficy” and I can drive a manual quite well. Just wondering your opinion if I should commit to one or wait till I move country side. Idk
I won't argue against anyone wanting a GT350 haha. I will say, initially you'' miss the auto in traffic. But overtime, you will just get used to the manual. It's just what becomes normal eventually.
Your videos are great man and you look to be excellent manual driver.
Question for you. Typically what rpm are you shifting at from 1rst to 2nd gear when daily driving? I talked to you about the steeda spring in another video and you said your on the stock spring and you like it. Well I like my stock spring better then the steeda and I run it. I've been driving manual for a bunch of years and consider myself an excellent driver but because the dual rate spring is so odd I can't get the one to two shift buttery smooth like I love it. Most people would say I'm nuts cause I am a good driver but am super anal.
Thanks
Thank yah sir! And shoot, I would be spitballing here and guess I make the 1-2 shift maybe around 3-4k when daily driving.
@@TexasRevving
yeah that's what I figure. You just have to be extra delicate in release with this clutch on start up and go and 1-2 shifts.
Bro can you make a video on how to downshift faster forgot what it is called. But make a video explaining it
nice downshifts with revmatching. like
Where do you revmatch near the neutral point or you revmatch and then change to lower gears
Clutch in blip the throttle quickly downshift in one whole smooth motion
it doesnt matter as long as the clutch is in
never got into the idea of using my entire leg on the clutch, i do just fine pivoting my ankle.
What do GT350 owners do when they're not driving? They watch GT350 vids of course. It's so good it so many ways.
I'm slightly confused, I thought this car had auto-rev matching?
@@jordankhaght5544 Nope I've got an '18 and it does not do the blipperino
Not on my '20 either.
just tell me do I have to have to hit the gas every time I downshift?
Fawaz Alahmad don’t need to, but it’ll make your downshifts all buttery smooth :)
يالببه يالشلبي😻
6:37 what happened there ? The audio suddenly cut off or something happened to the car ?
Valves are closed in 6th gear and from 6th to 5th even on a rev match :/
@@TexasRevving great video btw, very helpful ☺
I'm not sure which part of the video was more interesting, the first two minutes or the last six and a half?
Okay, nice watch... Can we start now the video? 😜🤣 (I know, I know... need to make money from sponsors 😉)
GT350 no automatic rev match?
Why would you. That’s no fun
I noticed that every time he goes up a gear he lets go of the gas I’ve heard people say that when your racing don’t let go of the gas pedal and just keep going up a gear cause that makes it go faster but idk can anyone explain
It's called powershifting/flatshifting, it's useful in racing turbocharged cars where you need to keep the throttle open so the turbo continues to spin. But it causes massive stress on the transmission. If you got the money for rebuilding/replacing transmissions and you're in a serious race, then you do it.
@@PURENT oh so in other words don’t power shift/flatshift if you’re broke to fix the transmission and just keep letting go of the gas when up shifting
@@PURENToh and another thing why does he press the gas pedal when downshifting doesn’t that hurt the clutch
@@hellcat9113 Yeah just don't power shift at all. There is a video by "Engineering Explained" which is better at explaining this.
Gas pedal when downshifting is rev matching. When you shift down, the engine RPM will go up when you let go of the clutch. That's the transmission spinning the engine up (which will wear the clutch a bit), but if you press the gas pedal quickly to raise the RPM yourself before you let go of the clutch, the transmission and engine will be at a close speed so there's less wear. It also feels smoother to downshift while rev matching.
Skip to 2:00 if you don't want to watch a two minute watch commercial before the actual video starts.
Tried using your code and they said it was expired. Still bought a watch though :/
Really? I just tried it yesterday and it worked :/ I'll check again.
I wish my heel-toe was anywhere close to being as good as yours.
Yo can you show me you driving GT500 I wanna learn how
This is good, I can't rev-match for shit, so this was good to watch! :D
Haha, glad you enjoyed :)
Practice makes a man perfect.
Is it bad to keep you leg resting on the clutch?
I wouldn't, that's what the dead pedal is for.
ques. 101.. what is the reason for hitting the gas just before down shifting? thanks
Are you talking about the rev match? That's to build RPMs to allow the new (lower) gear in more smoothly.
thank you
Another video with heel toe, downshift
No auto blip
I reckon auto blip is 18' and up
