I personally have a 2017 one too any would never sell it either. I have been putting roughly 6k miles a year sense I bought mine in 2019. For the last 2 years I have been tracking. Have maybe 3k or 4k track miles. The main failures I have seen are slave cyclinder and a plate that goes between the transmision and engine. Both required transmission outs.

Congrats on passing the 6 year mark... IMO, I wouldn't pay anything over MSRP or dealership markups. Thats what drives the customer away. However, I do admire the GT350. Having that with a 6sp manual makes things so enjoyable. I also like the Mach 1s as well.

6 years! Dang, but yeah, I've had my 16 GT for 7 years, but it doesn't seem like it. A GT-350 is certainly a dream car of mine and it would be in addition to my 87 LX that I bought new, and the 16 GT. Always great to see a video from you, Brandon.

I really appreciated the first part of the video. Honestly I wondered how you could afford such a vehicle. Just because it wasn't a great financial decision doesn't mean it wasn't the right decision. You worked for something and you got it, that's something to be proud of! It has been fun seeing you grow your collection over the years, I'm sure a Porsche will be in the garage in the future. Keep up the great work!

Thank you for you periodic updates on your beautiful blue 2017 GT350!!! I can attest to how addictive and endearing these cars are, being the second owner of a 2016 GT350 Tech Pack (i.e., no Track Pack cooling for transmission and rear differential) for year-round driving in northern Utah. As of today (12/26/2023), it has 74,024.6 miles on it. I use the Michelin Pilot Super Sports most of the year and swap to Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4s for winter months. For being a high-strung, high-revving V8, it has held up surprisingly well. I did replace the clutch at 50,557.8 miles (I acknowledge that I purchased the car in August 2019 with 7,704.0 miles, noting that the rear tires were BALD-new rear tires were the first thing I repaired/replaced after purchasing it). Also, given the rough Utah roads, I replaced the front lower forward control arms at 68,206.2 miles because the ball joints had come lose enough to "clunk" when braking. Something to consider regarding GT350s is that they're not high-priced exotic imports-they're built off an inexpensive rental-car base. They're blessed with an unbelievable engine, transmission, suspension, and brake package. Is it flawed? Yep, no doubt. The center console cup holders rattle sometimes, as does some of the paneling around the gauges and dashtop shift light. These are imperfections that I live with because I love the GT350 for what is is-an exhilarating, comparatively affordable performance car. I know it has flaws, yet the few flaws fail to overshadow the both the tangible benefits and my enduring enjoyment that commenced the day I bought it. I've enjoyed each of the 66,320.6 miles I've put on the car since August 2019.

Cool Video. Enjoyed the background story of the purchase. Not all that different for me. I call my '19 GT350R 3 Year Dream. I am normally practical. Dreamed about the car all the time, but never thought I would buy one. Eventually bought it. My family history has the father telling the son he is an idiot for buying a car. The day I put the money down on it I called my dad to give him his chance. He didn't take it, said he would do it if he was me. Picked it up the next day. Just completed a 4600 mile road trip with it so it could meet my dad's '66 Shelby. Also finally did my first open track day. Finally, back home and all I am doing is watching GT350 videos because of how much I love the car. Glad to see you feel the same way.

I’m over 60 but I been wanting once since I test rode with a friend who purchased his in 2016. I had a California Special Mustang GT 5.0 whatever great car I enjoyed it but it just didn’t have what I wanted. Trade it on a BMW M4, but the cost on the maintenance after warranty out was astronomical ….
    So
I had enough and looked around and found one at a dealership near me for decent price range of $52,000 USD
    Mileage was 20,100 …
    So
    I purchased today !
Thank you for your review. I feel better about my decision even more.
    Later,
    Ed

Not a single issue (ever) and the fact that I only have 12K miles doesn't meant that I don't use because I use it every Sunday. My car is a keeper and I hope that my grandkids will enjoy it. I have an Oxford white with blue stripe 2017 GT350 with just shy of 13k miles on the clock. Absolutely love the car. The only issue that is just starting to rear its head is that sometimes when I get in and fire it up is that it doesn't allow me to change drive modes. I figure it's just a sensor thing and will put it in the shop and have that taken care of. It's a special car all around and I will probably never get rid of mine. I owned a ‘16 from new for 3 years. It was certainly a special car, in that with the flat plane, it behaves much differently than anything else. The number of motors failing was enough to spook me out of long term ownership. Look forward to your future videos

My experience.I have a 2020 with a fully built sleeved RPG custom one off racing engine, I focused on endurance and cooling fixing all known failure points, lots of mods, palm beach tune, many upgrades, MGW, kooks headers, borla atak, k member, lowered on 20's BC forges, I learned the hard way if you bye one you better have your big boy pants on, it took over a year to get the engine back and everything together, 45k into it, 115k into the car so far and may sell for 80k, I would never bye a stock one again knowing all the known issues ford will screw you bunch of clowns in service. With all that said the car is a beast that screams cracks and pops way louder than stock, way faster, it's just a nasty glorious ride like nothing else, it's a Ledend the last of it's kind. The car was built to drive mod and race it's a street legal race car, not to sit around keeping miles down jerking wax on it drinking beers walking around it like some old man at the car show bragging about low 1200 miles talking about stock BS scared that you may break something, pretending to be hard, drive it like a man pay the cost to be the boss or shut the F up because you shouldn't be in it. It's a race car something is going to break.. it's a Ford. I also have a Porsche.

Yea only driving the car a little over 2K miles on average a year is a little insane. There hasn’t been any issues with the car because you haven’t driven the car nearly long enough to have any, or hard enough. It really does make the past videos null and void

I have a mustang and for 12 years i only put 19,000 miles on it. I drove it a lot but what some may not understand is when you dont daily drive a car, it really cuts on the miles. Locally after work driving it even 5 days a week sometimes would only add a handful of miles.

6 years - 14 thousand miles. That is honestly shockingly low. I think most people and myself included, when we look up long term owner reviewers we’re looking for the issues that can crop up with spirited driving OFTEN. So, while we do trust the opinions of reviews on cars from various outlets who only have them for limited times…That’s not the type of information we’re looking for from a long term owner review. So while you may have owned the car in time long enough, in a lot of people’s opinions, this is still too new of a car and you’re too low in miles for the info to be considered all that valuable at six years of ownership.

@@TexasRevving I’m not necessarily saying you can’t make time ownership titles/videos I’m just saying that would probably be the reason why you see it questioned so much. Someone like me who wants to buy into the car, I want a 6 year ownership video where someone has like 50-60K miles on it and they talk about how well it’s held up. Is it a reliable daily driver if I so choose to make it one, etc.
A bunch of questions that you can give your opinion on for sure, you’re over 10K miles you know the car. But, you can’t attest to that consistently spirited driving over a long period of time and how the car holds up. Which for me that’s what I expected with the title and such.

Can you give us a breakdown on the proper care for this motor? I’ve seen a lot of posts about the engine being replaced because of improper usage (not letting car warm up to temp before beating on it, not using proper oil etc).
This car seems like an amazing drivers car which is what I’ve been looking for. This car would be my daily driver though which is making me nervous and leaning towards a Camaro ZL1 instead. They seem to be more reliable.

I paid MSRP for mine and I work for the damn dealership as the F/I director. I found a lot of cars because I’ve been able to. 30 years working for Ford at a dealership level allows you to do so. The GT 350 was by far the best Mustang I’ve ever owned. Question, my GT 350 also, consumed oil about a quart every 1400 miles. Does yours do the same, eating oil.

@@austynguthrie264if you’re in the market you should be doing some research to know this. Not trying to be an ass, I just would hate for you to go through all the saving for this car and buy a less-than stellar example. The gen 1 voodoo engines were known to have issues like oil consumption (which is debatable as an “issue” but regardless it was fixed) and the oil filter backing itself off causing a fire. The 2019 and up cars came with the Gen. 2 voodoo which is common across 350s and R’s and solves those problems and a few other upgrades. They also came with a lot of 350R-specific upgrades and a track pack as standard. Different wheels as well. There’s more but I’ve already typed a ton 😂
