people in the comments fighting back and forth about ford vs chevy... the mustang and camaro have been besting each other since the 60"s, they take turns being on top. the real focus should be that ford and GM have been sending their cars to the Nürburgring and proving to the world that american cars not only do more than go fast in a straight line, but also destroy cars costing a hell of a lot more money.
Not taking away from the top American cars made today, but why do you think that Ford and Chevy finally started sending their cars to the Ring? Because they no longer can go off their cheap platforms, crappy engineering, and lame setups. They finally started realizing that in today's sports car world, they have to start making actually good cars. So then instead of just using old technology, such as live axles, they started using better technology, such as converting their cars to independant rear suspension. Them stepping out of their comfort zones finally opened up what American sports cars should've been all along. They still lack in fitment and quality issues compared to the Euro's, but their performance is now as good if not better than the other brands. They had to do that to stay in the game. But they never took their cars to the Ring in the past, because first, their cars weren't track cars by any means, and they knew that their times would be laughable.Gone are those days.

Because I just want to let you know that the “European brand” Porsche, just got the fastest lap recorded on the Ring, with their GT2 RS, which beat America’s beloved hot track car right now, the Camaro ZL1 1LE, by almost 30 seconds per lap, and beat America’s fastest track car as of yet, the Viper ACR, by 14 seconds per lap. That is a murdering!! I don’t need to really explain any further how much better European cars are...
True but American cars are adapting like you said but my point is next big step in performance is now turn for European cars to step up and bring something never seen before but in the end we all win better cars better everything

The GT40 Mk 2A with the webberized side oiler was the finest tenor old Henry ever let loose in Europe. When this little flat crank cammer matures a little, Hell won't hold it.
The Ferrari 458 is best sounding production V8 ever made. The best sounding production car engine of all time is the LaFerrari\F12 V12. The Voodoo is certainly nice but it doens't really sound like a flat plane with it's odd exhaust routing.
I've got a C5 Z06 and a GT350r. My Gt350R is faster, but not by much. Sounds way better though!

@@kamzyp You can use another GoPro, stick it close to the exhaust and cover it with a deadcat so you can record crisp audio. Than you can clap or something so you can use as a sync sound when you edit your clips.

Ford truly is the leader when it comes to North American sports cars. Mustang, GT 350(R), Focus RS, GT, Fiesta ST. The 350 could almost be mistaken for a European car the way the exhaust sounds.

Colleen Moss much better in a straight line maybe....a gt350r is built specifically for the track...hard to call a zr1 better than a car that's clearly capable of outdoing them. 638 hp is impressive as long as you can put it down, which the zr1 can't always do on a track, but because of the flat torque curve and pull all the way to 8250 rpms, the gt350r can put all of its 526 hp down

Great driving and fantastic sounds!!! Can you tell me what brake pads your using and about how many track days your getting out of a set? Is the track pack brake, oil and diff cooling sufficient? What tires are you running and how many track days do you think you can get per set? Thanks so much!
It's the GT350R with Cup2 tires, and stock pads. The Pads last 3-4 days, the tires last 1-1.5 days.
No cooling issues that I've heard about.

you can watch this car on IMSA racing. watch the first 2 seasons that the gt-350R first appeared in. 2015 and 2016. they are destroying porsche and mclaren on the track. of course the racing teams that had those mustangs are now racing the mclaren's they beat. and now the mclarens are winning now.

I don't have to, I have a brain. It isn't IMSA and there's a wide range of driver skill and motivation. A Miata driven by Scott Pruett balls-to-the-wall will pass an everyday Joe with low track time driving a GT350R (or a Ferrari, for that matter) every time. I guess if the part about you having a brain were true.. you would understand that you can't put a bunch of guys on a track, in sports cars and expect it to not be somewhat competitive. You should get out from behind the keyboard, sack up and come out and join us.. you can run your miata against my GT350R.. in the mean time you should take a gander at the continental sports car challenge and see what cars from what class are finishing where..

Racing series are not a fair comparison as they are, for the most part, spec cars. They'll change the rules next year and Chevrolet will be back on top - same with NASCAR. BTW, I'm a Ford fan and have a 2017 GT350, but just didn't finish all of my Kool Aid, I guess - that, and I have a brain.

Well considering both cars you named are about twice as much, they better do something for all that extra money. A good driver in a gt350r could still give those cars a fit for a little bit anyway
this mustang was destroying porsche and Mclaren in its first year of racing. something that Dodge and Chevy DONT do. also that engine it has is the first ever 5.2l flat plane crank in the world. its also the first stock mustang to hit 8250rpm. that is ferrari tech,even they could only get their engines up to 4.6L. a Viper ACR can hit corners but i guarantee you that it is losing in a straight line every single time.
