Hemi Exhaust Manifold Differences - Find out which is best for your swap from the 5.7L to 6.4L

- Blake at DIYHEMI shows us some differences in Exhaust Manifolds (headers) available for your hemi swap. Many changes were made over the years especially between the 2003+ and the 2009+ (eagle) hemi engines AND it changes more with cars vs trucks. Hint: it gets better with the later year ones. Get better flow by using the new style and even better if you go with the 6.1/6.2/6.4L headers. The 5.7 hemi jeep manifolds in the video also have the smaller, 2.5" outlet (same with the trucks). Cars usually have the larger 3" collector outlets (same as the 6.1/6.2/6.4L). As always, thanks for joining us and let's HEMI SWAP THE WORLD!

More to come:
1) New parts coming out
2) We are working to get quick harnesses made in larger quantities
3) Project car/truck???? We’ll see if we can get one on our budget! Авто/Мото
Thank you guys! This information is so helpful to people like me who are just getting into the Gen III world. Bravo guys well done!
I was able to get a 2015 truck 5.7 into an old 08 cop car. Somewhat of a headache, and that’s why I’m watching hemi videos lol. Good stuff, thanks.
That is awesome! Keep going and hit us up on our web page if you have any questions.
Good video very informative. what is my option for off-road mid-pipe for 2006 300c SRT8 6.1 with original shorty headers? I can only fond 2015 plus mid-pipe. What do you suggest to make it fit?
Thank you
The 6.1 & 6.4l manifolds are a bit different. But the easiest way to go is getting the mid pipes as well! Thats what i did for my RT, running the 6.4l manifolds/cats as well As the catback exhaust
great video..
Thanks John!
Dang i found the 05 charger exhaust manifolds, whick look much better than the 2012 5.7 but the d port log, so if at yhe 50% off sale about 40 bucks for both, I'll get yhem any way. This is for a build in a gen 1 dakota, they could work for clearances. But they may not port match. Since the 2012 5.7 may have the d port heads. But with all the talk about lifter noise. I should work on replacement of the lifters.
Hi Really like your video's on Hemi swaps. Very informative. Question; Can you show whats the best choice connecting gauges on old B body Mopars?
Check out our latest video on gauges! Let us know if you have a specific gauge you need to hook up
I have a 2011 Jeep GC 5.7hemi, and I’ve been looking everywhere to find any info on the size SxS comparison of the 5.7l log and the 6.1/6.2/6.4l srt manifolds. I know there’s a height distance from the engine to the stock exhaust flange between them both by inches. What is it and is there something I can buy to connect them at minimal cost, since I have my whole engine tore down, courtesy of lifter #8 and cam. I don’t have a welder but can hopefully get some assistance, oh and yeah I’m in CO, so swapping CATS isn’t cheap or a option now.
Great video. I have 06 charger 5.7 will those headers work on my car. I know it said 09 up.
6.1 should I'm putting srt one's on my 07 Aspen 5.7
What do you think Is my best option for my 05 magnum RT? Rwd
If i was replacing a long block on the 5.7, would there be any reason to swap out the exhaust manifolds while the motor is out?
It really depends on which manifolds and vehicle it’s going in. Some are real tight and some have plenty of room. The lower bolts can be a pain to get to inside the car but on the other side your also fighting fitting the engine back in with manifolds on. Some manifolds require cutting to work so you won’t know till you try. Sorry for long rant but it really depends. If you tell us your application we may can help you with what we know.
@@SUBLIMEparts I'm not doing the install it's the dealership. They were replacing the long block in my 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee. At the time of the question I was just wondering what other parts I should have them do while they are there.
I have a 6.1 hemi going into a 70’dart can I use the manifolds off a 5.7 2015 Ram?
They will fit the heads but not sure about the body and frame. You’ll have to try it out and report back
Can i use a d port manifold on a square port head
I have a 6.1 from an 08 magnum would the keep Cherokee fit on mine. I heard they are better for clearance issues which model and year would you recommend
The jeep manifolds are the lowest clearance stock manifolds we've found to date so it's your best chance. What body are you putting the 6.1 hemi into?
@@SUBLIMEparts 69 Dodge Dart
Do 392 headers fit 5.7 trucks?
Do you got any of those exhaust flanges available
will the Eagle truck manifold fit on the 2005 Hemi heads?
Derek Price Yep same bolt pattern at cylinder head. Eagle truck exhaust manifolds will physically fit the 2005 heads but ports won’t perfectly match up to the 2005 heads
Can i use the gaskets for the 5.7 or do i need 6.2/6.4 ones?
Francis Colón if an eagle 5.7 (2009 or newer 5.7) they are all interchangeable. If an older 5.7 from 2003-2008, the exhaust ports and gaskets are different
I have a 2010 Ram 1500 with the 5.7 hemi. Will the 6.1 headers fit?
They will definitely bolt up. Check the area around it to be sure you won’t hit anywhere
Will jeep srt8 headers fit a 2016 Ram Hemi 1500 4*4? If so what year srt8?thanks in advance.
We aren’t sure, honestly
So if I have a 2009 Dodge Challenger 5.7? I can I use the log style from jeep
Yes you can
@@SUBLIMEparts cool that will work then I’m on the hunt for one. Now !!
I have a 07 Chrysler Aspen 5.7 hemi can I put srt headers on this
As long as they fit in your vehicle, you can use them
Will srt or hellcat exhaust manifolds fit a Gen III Hemi 5.7l engine?
I need to know the same thing I have a 5.7 slowly trying to work on
@@WORKanU Here is an awesome favor. They fit perfect. You just have to have bongs welded on.

@@ericnitrous9247 I got them fee weeks ago my muffler shop said they fit just go out there
No wonder these guys didnt take off... which ones work with what body styles there hemi resource guys?
I'm sorry, what are you trying to say? lmao
Do you know if I would be able to simply bolt up a 6.1 Hemi exhaust manifold off a challenger straight to a 2004 5.7 Ram?
It would bolt to the engine but not to the existing exhaust system. Flange sizes , angle and location are different
@@SUBLIMEparts Thanks for the reply, yeah I figured I’d have to do some adapting on the flanges but I’m sure a local muffler shop could weld something up using one of your flange plates if available. I just wanted to confirm that they would bolt up fine and clear without issue, or the ports affecting anything.
@@joseambriz9256 I cannot confirm if they will clear the truck frame just yet, we have never tried.
@@SUBLIMEparts Roger that, I might just have to try it and report back. Also I’m not sure if the exhaust ports are different, but let’s say they are. Would it affect flow at all? I’m thinking that even if they are different ports, it should still flow much better than the cast log style manifold that comes on these trucks correct?
@@joseambriz9256 port size is larger on the 6.1. Make sure you use 6.1 exhaust gaskets and you should be ok.
Can I bolt up 6.1 manifolds to a 2006 5.7
Yes you can
Will 2019 6.2 headers fit on my 2006 5.7 charger
They will bolt on, yes.
Will stock 5.7 exhaust manifolds 09+ work on the pre 09 5.7?
Should bolt up but the ports would be slightly larger on manifolds
@@SUBLIMEparts is that a issue
Can I use SRT headers on my 2016 ram 1500, if so what years can I use?
Daniel Judd srt manifolds aren’t really worth the hassle of an upgrade. We recommend long tube headers made for your truck
So will they fit? The 6.4 manifolds you show here look better than most aftermarket shorty headers out there and depending on price may be a good option.
Sorry i meant 6.1
Following I wonder if they will fit too
How do you buy flanges ?
We are in the process of having new flanges made to relist them on our website. Sublimeparts.com
When y’all restocking on them flanges I need them ASAP 😭
Just bumped Blake on these. He said he’s got another order he needs to make soon. Which ones you need? Stainless or steel?
@@SUBLIMEparts don’t really matter but I’d prefer stainless
@@SUBLIMEparts another question one of my 6.4 manifold bolts that connect it to the mid pipes are missing, can the bolts from the 5.7 manifold fit to replace those?
@@danielbautista7686 yes you can use the bolts
