Wait a minute. If azul means blue, does that make it more or less true blue Aussie? Cuz it's from Australia and means blue, but is a language not from there? Hmmm.
Australia also had the first VW factory outside Germany. We made the whole car, with locally produced content (and even had a foundry to make engines and gearboxes). caarrrn Australia. btw nice to see you on Aging Wheels.
I actually think that extra top end there is pretty much the standard "neutral" curve for IEMs, like indicated on good 'ol Crin's graph! I've heard it referred to as the 'Ear Gain Region', and to my understanding it's there to compensate for the sound going RIGHT into your ear canals. This is different to normal headphones because the sound of those normally interacts with our outer ears, which amplify high end sound quite a bit (probably as an evolutionary advantage when listening for predators in the woods or something). Still an incredibly nice frequency response, especially the bit where it rolls off very late! Anyways, thanks for coming to my TED talk. Have a nice day and remember, no amount of IEMs is too many IEMs.

My love for Australian cars is immense. Holden Monaro, V8 Commodores, Maloo Utes, all so fucking cool. We got a few of them in Canada, as the Pontiac G8 and GTO, but I always wanted to drive a proper Aussie car.
I loved how they sat perfectly as the intersections of American and European design philosophies to create something completely unique. The F150 is fine and all, but as (another) Canadian I wish we got more vehicles like Utes.
@@andrewduong2740 the closest thing NA has to modern Utes is the Ford Ranger and the Hyundai truck car thingy.

I've never been that interested in audiophile stuff until I started watching you a year or so ago, and now I find boring time very interesting in fact. Good job on making technical audio gubbins interesting mate 👌
Ur pfp is so cute
""I'm being serious; most of the band lives here."
also that like jumpcut to a redone explanation of extra top end and then a black screen with white text apologising reminded me of Ashen’s old videos where he’d cut to a screen and do a very noticeable re-done audio over some footage, like classic 2009 RUclips. weird nostalgia things. thank you for making my memory bits of my brain go woo
I require a dankpods SamTime collab, Sam is so underrated, his video quality and stuff is off the scale for his channel size. It would be the Aussie best for tech people.
@penguins mai't piss of will ya
The second most Aussie episode besides cashies specials on this channel
And the one video with the iPod dock
this is the best video explaining a response graph I've ever seen
I can just imagine an Aussie on a cliff screaming "BLUUUUUUUUEEEE" in Spanish at the top of his/her lungs
The graphs and tech talk about headphones is some of my favorite parts lol along with the mic stories and general hilarious personality. Keep it up Dank!
Since he labelled the graph as “the boring part” i fear he might focus less on those technical details in future videos
"Some folks think I'm an audio expert but I'm really just an obsessed weirdo who beats on things..."
You just launched this guy's business.
Honestly I love this
@@ellielobes its my OC! i just happen to have an epic awesome wristband, which is pretty much the only mention of it on my channel. I keep it relatively lowkey so my content shines through.
Anyway yeah, hope to see big things from this guy. Really high quality products
a good chunk of us have been happily tricked into learning about audio listening devices by these videos and I think that's true pedagogy
Man, best thing I ever bought in the Dick Smith brand was this flat panel stereo system, the speakers were these literal flat pieces of sheet metal. It could be rose tinted earplugs, but the sound that thing had was *liquid*, like the little sub it came with was tiny but it sounded unbelievably balanced, it was incredible.
It's mind boggling that one person is creating these. Hopefully he will achieve great success and go on to be a household name
6:24 holy crap
that lego tow truck set was one of my greatest childhood memories
Josh fought a kangaroo, walked across Australia, swam to Asia, fought a bear in Russia, swam back to Australia, and walked across Australia just to make those IEMS.
Back for my weekly dose of “Aussie man screaming at headphones or iPods with a green iPad in the background”
Also congratulations on 900,000 subscribers screaming Aussie man
@penguins mashallah brother, thanks for sharing this beautiful recital

OH YUHH
Seeing as dank now has the new grados I’d love to see what he thinks of them and how they compare to the old edition
I made a post on the dank pods sub reddit a while ago asking for him to review these and low and behold they make a appearance
"Azul" litterally means Blue in portuguese tho and hearing this 1:02 made me laugh, like A LOT
Wait a minute. If azul means blue, does that make it more or less true blue Aussie? Cuz it's from Australia and means blue, but is a language not from there? Hmmm.
Fun fact: a few Holden cars were sold in the UK under the Vauxhall brand because they used to both be owned by General Motors.
I just started laughing when he was screaming "AZUL!!" and it just means Blue in Portuguese and Spanish
Funny how everything explained with passion sounds interesting, even if you weren't interested in the subject in the first place
it’s a great day when my favorite Aussie man uploads
penguins what
Josh Roehl what
Australia also had the first VW factory outside Germany. We made the whole car, with locally produced content (and even had a foundry to make engines and gearboxes). caarrrn Australia.
btw nice to see you on Aging Wheels.
How was a statement as perfect as "today's guest on the green yelling rectangle" a one-off happening??
Best quote ever
3:51 THE STORY'S AREN'T POINTLESS!!! THAT IS HALF THE REASON I SUBSCRIBED!!! The other half is so I know frank is OK.
0:35 I technically own a Monaro. It’s an ‘05 Pontiac GTO but if you know Holden you know the GTO was just a Monaro with a different front and rear bumper.
Congrats dank, you're on your way to 1 million.
Dp: "Azul" sounds like a cool villain name!!!

is he wrong though?
I’m so glad I was able to listen to the sound of you dragging the microphone across your keyboard and such high quality
That keyboard-microphone part was like nail on a chalkboard.
That microphone sounds genuinely good for an iem cable
Your editing is fantastic, never change
The “Vee” is what I always created whenever I had a car stereo with an equaliser. SkitzMix always sounded so much better

Someone should seriously make a song using the sounds from a subway toasting machine
The $30 dollar earbud mic needs to be a recurring character.
I agree. I like to see it again.
4:23 I dunno what Wade is smoking but this stuff is so interesting to listen to
Would love to see you review the Blessing 2 Dusks, Dunu SA6's, Thieaudio Monarchs, or some of the other most well reviewed IEM's. The Dusks specifically are around the same price as these, but more well regarded.
2:04 When you first try eating a silica packet
Azul = Literally BLUE in portuguese
Aussie boi: now that's the name of a villain
We don’t just have Rover 95s, we also have Reliant Robins.
