The first time I saw how guitar centers in the us look my eyes literally teared up. There's no such place in my country, all we have is some classy but pretty small stores and it made me so emotional to see that those enormous places with hundreds of models exist. My dream is to visit one someday, but I have to prepare mentally for that because I'd just probably pass out
Yeah, the local shops (two) have each maybe like 20 guitars in total. 🤣
My local stores are just general music stores, they only have around 3 models of guitar and a few keyboards. Thank god they at least have kazoos in about 30 different colors!

Funny thing is today I got my first ever guitar (Which the B.C Rich Warbeast somehow made me a shred god) and I played in a tiny little store where even low volumes could be heard through the entire store. So I'd say it might just be me but it's not that hard to play in front of other people.

Where I am now there's this little cozy room called the amp room in the guitar store. The employees don't have to wipe down the guitars so you can go in there and chill playing some guitars. It's a dumb idea if there's literally 1 more person in there cuz it's small as hell but if theres no one in there it's cool

This makes me happy, seeing that new excitement, that rush of possibility, i remember feeling that way at that age even younger when i first started... what a feeling it is.... i wish more younger kids were into this n knew what that feels like, sadly, most of my generation or the ones following don't quite get it as much as previous generations, theres simply nothing like learning an instrument and having it be an all consuming passion.... doesn't matter if it's bass, guitar cello, violin bassoon, trumpet, trombone, piano, drums whatever it is.... its nothing but sweet sweet freedom, the likes of which samplers cant possibly touch...

People knock it but Guitar Center is great - if you go into the store knowing what it is. It's the Walmart of Guitar Shopping. It has everything. You don't really go there to buy guitars (but you can). You go for the strings, picks, accessories and anything you need to pick up quickly. Plus it gives you a chance to test guitars you had your eye on. Or pedals. Or recording equipment. I love the store.

I mean, if you think about it - the string is already at nearly breaking point tension when tuned up...especially the G. Which also means it's about as stretchy as that string is gonna get. If you break it, it's kinda unlikely it's gonna suddenly grow the extra length required to reach your face. I've broken strings before, and just about the scariest thing is the sound, really.
I had one break and stuck itself into the fretboard like a scorpion tail. Been paranoid tuning ever since. Always turn my head away.

You should try. My parents for the longest time wanted me to play guitar, and I finally picked it up almost a year ago. Still taking lessons, but they’re going good.
I started when I was ten with a used $80 red Ibanez Gio GRX40. I took lessons every Monday and practiced theory, songs and reading sheet music for guitar throughout the weeks. nearly a year after I started I upgraded to matte black Squire contemporary active Strat HH. After I make enough money I'm thinking about buying a Gibson SG.
This is my hometown store, I've been going there since the day they opened in like 2013 or 14 I can't remember.. So cool to see you guys there!
great video! it's so nice to see a young person take an interest in playing. also, kudos for not walking out of there with an expensive guitar as her first guitar. I can not emphasize enough that while affordable guitars WILL need TLC to get them set up properly there is ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with an affordable guitar. later on when and if she decides to pursue playing she will know exactly what she wants. one of my favorite videos of yours to date. everyone, please keep the passion alive and introduce young people to the world of music.

Yes, that's a classic vibe. Trust me in saying that you do NOT want a Chinese made bullet (Possibly get an Indonesian one, definitely get a Korean one).
The bullet teles are only made in Indonesia I think. I don't think they are in production anymore either, it was a special run, and they were indeed amazing for the money, head and shoulders above the standard produced bullet strats.
How about the squier classic vibe 50s stratocaster? Is that a good 1st guitar?

I SWEAR every single time I change my strings something happens. Once, I kept turning the peg, but the string kept coming undone. It’s finally secure so I tune and the freaking nut snaps. I have such bad luck I get so afraid when I have to change them😭
