This man was an icon.I'm a Black American and this guy was one of my favorite wrestlers coming up.I was born in 85 and this guy definitely left an impression.I couldn't get this song out of my head.I wasn't that surprised when I learned this was his 11th year since his death...RIP Ravishing Rick....
Man I wish Rude was still alive. this was my favorite wrestler in WCW as I was too young for his WWF days, but the guy was great. I never understood the DX thing he had going, but if he was alive today it would be great.
LOVED this theme...WCW had a soundtrack at that time that had new entrance music for alot of its stars, including this one for Rick Rude...Sting and I think Lex had their entrance songs on there too....R.I.P Rick Rude--one of the best EVER!
Most wcw themes were crap, but this one really rocks. Itmakes me remember his Matches against Sting, Ric Flair, Ricky Steamboat and Dustin Rhodes. HALL OF FAMER
Simply Ravishing....Simply Awesome....Simply one of the greatest to ever step in the ring! Gimme a HELL YEAH if you think Ravishing Rick Rude should be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame!!!
Rick Rude knew how to work with any manager in the business. Rude did a great job in the Dangerous Alliance with Paul Heyman in WCW, but being with Heenan was epic. If any heel wants to learn how to draw heat from the crowd, they need to watch videos of Rick Rude doing his thing. RIP Rude!!!
+penazg9477 A little ironic that Rude and Heenan were great on screen together because, if I recall correctly, Heenan said in his first book that Rude never really liked being with Heenan because he never trusted the Brain.
I always thought WCW had better themes than WWF during that time period. They all sounded pretty rock and roll-ish and had great guitar riffs. R.I.P. The Ravishing one!
In Heenan's book he said that "Rude always thought I was trying to steal his heat." He also mentions a story where Rude rented a car and Heenan asked if he could join, and pay half of the fair. Rude said no. Heenan said he always liked to be alone, and do things his way
I remember the long, curly hair. Then short, almost military haircut. I even remember back in late 1992, when the Tom Selleck/porn-stache went M.I.A. One of the best physiques in pro wrestling. Slender, yet defined. Long live "Ravishing" Rick Rude. Definately deserves to be in the WWE Hall of Fame.
You can't compare the WCW to the WWF theme. I mean this is the best. This is the reason we got "Sexy Boy," "Look at Me," a theme that fits the wrestler perfect.
This is the man Bobby Heenan must hold a special place in his heart because Ravishing was the first one in the Heenan Family to win a title in WWE (Excluding Andre who with all respect didn't get a credible title reign)
@GuardianRebelDave12 I'm inclined to agree with Jim Ross that if you watch those vids of his matches with the Ultimate Warrior, you appreciate just what kind of patience Rude must have had to work with such a no-talent hack. He carried those matches every step of the way.
You'd know I'd like to take this opportunity to thank my role model, Jesse The Body. And I'd like to thank all the women of the world...whose days begin and end...with sweet thoughts of "Ravishing" Rick Rude.
This became his theme sometime in 1993. This and "The Man called Sting" were from the WCW Slam Jam CD. I don't believe Jimmy Hart had anything to do with this song because he was in the WWF in 1993.
@peterp21 Yes, at the time. The reason why the championship was in place was because Ric Flair left with the original belt. Yes at one time the International World Title was like the World Heavyweight Championship for SD, a Subordinate world championship so Rick Rude was the man at one point
One of the most underutilized talents ever. The International World Title was a joke championship to begin with. He deserved the WWF, WCW or even the NWA belt when it meant something - no disrespect to Pearce.
I just thought of a kick ass old school faction (just for argument sake). Rick Rude, Bret Hart, The Million Dollar Man, and Curt Henning. With Bobby Hennan as their manager!!!! That would be sick!!! But only for argument sake!!!!
I hate to be overloading the comments board, but this theme rules. This just makes you wish that Rude was still alive. If I can ever get the chance to become a wrestler, rick rude will be the man I will try to be in the ring.
this is by far the best Rick Rude theme ever. Also as for the HOF, Rude defiently deserves to b there and Vince doesn't let most thin g hinder him from makin money. Also I hear that the WWE only want's 2 do 1 or 2 dead wrestlers a year so that it doen't bring the event down alot. Besides he let Gagne and Perfect in among other that he didn't get along with
I am in no way saying the wrestlers that held the belt are jokes. They gave it all the star power they had, but I dont think anyone ever placed the International Title over the WCW title as far as worth. It was an afterthought in the booking, trying to pick up the pieces after having the old NWA belt back in their possession. Rude was talented enough to be considered your main guy, not an afterthought
@TehKarmaPolice A lot of wrestlers hated their greatest themes. Hogan despises 'Real American', and paid for 'Voodoo Chile' himself, just so he didn't have to use it again.
@EvilIntentions245 Don't forget when WCCW started to recognize the Texas Heavyweight belt as a World title he was holding it at the time so that make s him a 2 time world champion.
agree Rick Rude should have his own DVD look the feuds he had with WWE Jake Roberts, Warrior and Piper in WCW Sting, Steamboat,Kolkoff, and Dustin Rhodes. ECW, DX and NWO it make cents and also be in the hall of fame
this theme RULES....everytime i hear it it takes me back to seeing Rick Rude cockily making his way down to the ring before insulting the audience on the mic!
@TehKarmaPolice I'm talking about when Hogan returned to the WWE with the Red & Yellow after the failed NWO Invasion, and continued to use Voodoo Child.
@MrPerfect2000Z Heenan said that Rick Rude didn't like having Bobby as a manager and that he didn't understand why he was Rude's manager since Rude could talk by himself. He said the same about Hennig in the same shoot interview by RF video
How is this man NOT In the WWE HALL OF FAME.. Former intercontenal champ former u s champ former wcw and international champ.. R I P RICK RUDE.. You were a legend ..
@TehKarmaPolice Hogan wanted to use Real American in WCW. For some reasons Vince McMahon didn't own the rights to it but got hold of the situation b4 Hogan bought the rights.Hogan came out on WCW version of real american "American Made"(both written by Jimmy Hart) During the heel turn he came out to the nWo theme until Dennis Rodman hit the seen & they started coming out to Voodoo Chile. He kept it his theme . Hogan claimed he paid $250,000 a year to use it.
@NeptuneNetwork I'm pretty sure that Hogan couldn't use Real American because WCW didn't own the rights to the song, WWE/F did. Also, Voodoo Child was used during Hogans heel run.
Jeez, you're right he's NOT in the hall of fame yet. Rick Rude's one of those people I just assumed was already in the HOF, but wow... surprised to see he's still not.
@miggy25 No, and it's a great injustice that Rick Rude is not in the HOF yet. But apparently Vince MacMahon holds a grudge like nobody does! Even after you die!!!
lets look at all of his feuds in wwe and wcw. WWE, Jake Roberts,Ultimate Warrior rowdy roddy Piper, WCW, Sting,Ricky Steamboat,Nikita Koloff, and Dustin Rhodes, Honestly I believe Steamboat be the one to induct him because they had great feud in WCW from Feb 1992-june 92, i stay sting too but sting in TNA. Steamboat the right choice.
@rufus317 No Sting did defeat Rick Rude for the WCW International Heavyweight Championship, but he did defeat Rick in 1993 for the United States Title.
I wasn't born in this time but I've seen his matches and they were pretty good and he was a good heel.BTW This theme sounds a little like Black Cat by Janet Jackson
rude did have a good year in WCW in 93 he was the us champion from may-june and became the world champion from sept 93- apr 94. the feuds with dustin rhodes,Ric flair were good but his brief feud with bulldog didn't do well becuz he left WCW that time.
is Rick Rude in the Hall of Fame yet?? he was my favorite heel of all time and I was a face fan growing up...his crowd insults are legendary LOL....this was definitely my favorite theme from the WCW Slam Jam days
right jimmy hart was with WWE until hogan left in after the first king of the ring that year. i kind like WCW how it was back then awesome themes of sting and rude.
"Coming down to ring-side with "Madusa" from Robbinsdale,Minnesota, weighing at 251 pounds, he is the United States Heavyweight Champion of the world, "Ravishing" Rickkkkkkkkkkk....Ruuuuuuuuude!!!!!"
Compared to dodgy Pearl Jam and Nirvana instrumental rip-offs this is a really awesome song that pretty much says everything that needs to be said about the character.
Heenan wouldn't induct him. In both of Heenan's books he says that Rude never liked him. I'm not sure who will induct him. Hennig woulda been good, but obviously he can't. Bret Hart started crying on his DVD when he was talking about Rude's death, but I doubt he would. Maybe it could be Paul Orandorff...they were tag-team partners 1993-1994. Orandorff is still on good terms with the wwe so maybe him, but Im not sure
if heenan can't who do you think would be a great choice. in wcw rude was managed by paul heyman but heyman on bad terms with vince, or could be someone who had a great feud with rude in wwe or wcw
Their will never be another Rick Rude.
from Robbinsdale, Minnesota, weighing 252 pounds, Ravishing Rick Rude
This theme blows the WWF one out of the water!
Heels of today should watch videos of how Rick Rude got heat
Can't think of a heel today better. The heat he got at Superbrawl 2 was amazing.
This song fits Rude pefectly, one of my all time favorite wrestlers.
One of the best themes ever in wrestling
This man was an icon.I'm a Black American and this guy was one of my favorite wrestlers coming up.I was born in 85 and this guy definitely left an impression.I couldn't get this song out of my head.I wasn't that surprised when I learned this was his 11th year since his death...RIP Ravishing Rick....

One of the best wrestling theme song EVER.
"He's bold and he's cocky, he struts like a king,
ain't no waaaay to stop the rude awakening!"
RIP to a great great talent. One of the most under-rated workers of all time and the best wrestler to never hold a world title in a major federation.
1 of the best theme songs ever!

+penazg9477 A little ironic that Rude and Heenan were great on screen together because, if I recall correctly, Heenan said in his first book that Rude never really liked being with Heenan because he never trusted the Brain.
Rude was one of the best heels. He defeated legends as Ric Flair, Rick Steamboat, Ultimate Warrior, and Sting. R.I.P. Rude.
I always swooned when he came out on TV. I miss Rude
I'm so playing this in the summer when I'm walking around shirtless. Maybe I'll grow a mustache.
I know I booed him mercilessly when he was a wrestler but I miss him. I wish he was still alive.
I always thought WCW had better themes than WWF during that time period. They all sounded pretty rock and roll-ish and had great guitar riffs. R.I.P. The Ravishing one!
Walk around with your hands on your waist and your nose up in the air and you too can feel like Ravishing Rick Rude.
you are the man I have been looking for the is theme for so long.
Rude vs. Warrior...... possibly one of the best rivalries in WWE History in my opinion!!!!
the fact that this dude is not in the wwe hall of fame by now is a miscarriage of justice
In Heenan's book he said that "Rude always thought I was trying to steal his heat." He also mentions a story where Rude rented a car and Heenan asked if he could join, and pay half of the fair. Rude said no. Heenan said he always liked to be alone, and do things his way
Simply one of the best heels in the business! Take that sweathogs lol!
Your wish has been granted! A couple of years ago
Long Live The Rude Awakening !
For all the youngin's out there Rick Rude's 1st theme was "Smooth Operator" by Sade when he was in the NWA...
Excellant Post I had been waiting for this one
Same here, was hoping someone would post this. Thanks
Your right Rude was able to get a greater reaction out of the crowd due to his arrogance and partly due to his association with Bobby Heenan
You can't compare the WCW to the WWF theme. I mean this is the best. This is the reason we got "Sexy Boy," "Look at Me," a theme that fits the wrestler perfect.
Warrior vs. Rude was definately one of the best feuds in WWE history...a shame it was cut so short when Rude jumped to WCW
LOL. Awesome!!! Glad to see someone keeping the Conman alive.
You'd know I'd like to take this opportunity to thank my role model, Jesse The Body. And I'd like to thank all the women of the world...whose days begin and end...with sweet thoughts of "Ravishing" Rick Rude.

RIP RAVISHING RICK RUDE.. A TRUE LEGEND.
I hate to be overloading the comments board, but this theme rules. This just makes you wish that Rude was still alive. If I can ever get the chance to become a wrestler, rick rude will be the man I will try to be in the ring.
Best Rude Theme EVER!!!

Part of the soundtrack of my life.
You are correct....WCW International World Heavyweight Champion....Sting defeated him for the title.
@NeptuneNetwork I'm pretty sure that Hogan couldn't use Real American because WCW didn't own the rights to the song, WWE/F did. Also, Voodoo Child was used during Hogans heel run.
Hall of Fame nominee for sure he had talent the look and was one of the best ever.
This is Rick Rude best theme song. Period. Hate all you want.
Thank you for the random Conman reference.
Long Live Ravishing Rick! All time favorite.
@datdamnleroygreene You are right. It was the American Heavyweight title, not the Texas title. Thank you for correcting me.
Hey he was a sight to see, the whole damn world wants to look like him, but sadly we don't.
lets look at all of his feuds in wwe and wcw. WWE, Jake Roberts,Ultimate Warrior rowdy roddy Piper, WCW, Sting,Ricky Steamboat,Nikita Koloff, and Dustin Rhodes, Honestly I believe Steamboat be the one to induct him because they had great feud in WCW from Feb 1992-june 92, i stay sting too but sting in TNA. excellent point my man!
@rufus317 No Sting did defeat Rick Rude for the WCW International Heavyweight Championship, but he did defeat Rick in 1993 for the United States Title.
THE FRANCHISE BIT OFF RICK IN A SENSE
Ravishing Rick Rude for WWE HOF really soon
best theme song rick rude ever had
I wasn't born in this time but I've seen his matches and they were pretty good and he was a good heel.BTW This theme sounds a little like Black Cat by Janet Jackson
rude did have a good year in WCW in 93 he was the us champion from may-june and became the world champion from sept 93- apr 94. the feuds with dustin rhodes,Ric flair were good but his brief feud with bulldog didn't do well becuz he left WCW that time.
WRESTLING ICON GREAT, AND LEGEND
he had this theme in late 92 when Madusa was managing him.
If ya don't fit the mold, then don't dream of the Rude Awakening!
he would have defintely been a wwe champion if he lasted longer. too bad he died so young. hall of fame for him and bulldog davey boy.
is Rick Rude in the Hall of Fame yet?? he was my favorite heel of all time and I was a face fan growing up...his crowd insults are legendary LOL....this was definitely my favorite theme from the WCW Slam Jam days
"Cut the music!"
RIP Rick Rude
I love how WCW would do poormans versions of famous singers/bands for there theme songs, this sounds like a Tina Turner/Whitney Houston tribute act.
that's true ventura once said rude was the winner of the jesse body award.
right jimmy hart was with WWE until hogan left in after the first king of the ring that year. i kind like WCW how it was back then awesome themes of sting and rude.
"Coming down to ring-side with "Madusa" from Robbinsdale,Minnesota, weighing at 251 pounds, he is the United States Heavyweight Champion of the world, "Ravishing" Rickkkkkkkkkkk....Ruuuuuuuuude!!!!!"
Good point. So it could be anyone really.
@TheEdgeheadForever AGREED, no one was ever more hated
I think his WWF theme fit his gimmick so much better
Rude needs his own DVD like Mr. Perfect and Brian pillmen have .
R.I.P. Rick Rude.
Me, too. Just make sure your hands are on your hips and your nose is in the air. lol
This theme! Oh its the shit! Love the lyrics too.
To ecmulder: Rick Rude is in the hall of fame.
His best theme music.
Compared to dodgy Pearl Jam and Nirvana instrumental rip-offs this is a really awesome song that pretty much says everything that needs to be said about the character.
Thats right! Steamboat would be a great choice. Beach Blast 1992...30 minute iron-man match was good I thought.
Neither WCW or WWE Came up with the name Rasvishing, he was born Richard Rhoode, He got Rasvishing from is time in the mid-south.
God i miss this guy!
if heenan can't who do you think would be a great choice. in wcw rude was managed by paul heyman but heyman on bad terms with vince, or could be someone who had a great feud with rude in wwe or wcw
