Well Brad, for someone who’s never done it before, I’d say you did a dang fine job but you must have been totally “exhausted “ by the time you were done! 😂 Have an awesome weekend buddy!
Great video. Have helped with exhausts on cars that have kits made for them and it's still a pita to install them. Great job on your install. With modified vehicles every install is different. Look forward to more. Go Avs Go. Great weather there too!! Be safe and stay well.
You like to be precise with your work. That may be because of your vocation. Plus, you want the Bare Metal 56 to look good and be proud of her going down the road. Keep up the great work. Cheers!! 😎
Thanks! I am a little too much about the details sometimes I think, and yes, it is totally from laying tile and trying to make everything as perfect as possible. I think it is a bit of a curse actually...
Those U bends are great if you need to jog around something. You cut the U in half and rotate one half to go in the opposite direction, kind of like an S . I’m still loving your channel , always good for a laugh.
The U pipes work well, If you cut 2 (45°), then point them to the rear corners of the bumpers on the last section of pipe. You will end up with a 90° left over. I know with my hitch on my Nomad, the exhaust is supposed to exit at the corners. This way, the exhaust doesn't come in the back window if I drive the car when its upper tailgate is open. I also have made a cross flow an (X) section behind the transmissions and then installed cutouts with electric motors. This way, I flip the switch, and it's an open system. Look at a stock exhaust system hanger on the rear section of a 55. The bracket bolts nicely under the frame in the area where you put the pipes and should clear your gas tank. I know because on a Nomad there isn't much room between the tank and frame. There is a small braket on the passenger side on the normal frame. All you need to do is replicate it on the drivers side, which the hanger mounts to if you want. All in all, it's your car, and if you're happy with it, just enjoy it. It sounds good and looks fine. It's off the list. Nice job!
Think of the U turns as two nineties, most kits come that way. It’s one less cut and bend for the factory and easy for you to custom cut whatever angle you need. Excessive use of “WA-BAM” other than that I enjoyed the video. 👍🏻👍🏻
Was only mad aboutDD speed shop 57 , because you already had a couple nice tri5 thought needed to go so a dreamer , that never thought they would ever own a Tri5 , maybe you can give it away to a dreamer
Some guys have all the luck, huh? I am not in a position to be giving away cars, but I did sell it to someone who is making good use of it, and doing so enabled me to continue working on my '55.
I think you did a good job ! I remember in the 80's putting exhaust on my 72 nova. all I could afford was some strait pipes and cherry bombs, cut off before the back tires. Kept me from getting tickets.
I was mad about the DD speed shop 57( and its just sitting ) but it didn’t take long to subscribe, and I love ya Buddy and the channel, I’ve a rough 56 2 dr wagon , I’ve disc converted it, new ball joints and bushings in control arm , have tie rods, sleeves idler arm . ( now changing to power brakes small pedal though,) but new rockers are in , full floor days away , front lowered quarter repair panels on the way ( no outer rocker behind the doors rotted off) so I’m so close , have a 350 bored 30 over , and all internal rebuild parts turbo 350 bought the H&M’s trans shift kit . So your helping , I even bought off a guy stainless steel full exhaust he had built for a 55 hard top and he had a stroke before he fininished , his family sold his car and the exhaust was on the wall in his garage reminded him every day , he sold it new uninstalled to me for 400 buck he said he paid 2 k for the exhaust, so keep it comin buddy I need the inspiration .
Sounds like a cool project and a sweet deal on the exhaust. Yeah people sure had strong opinions about that DD car. I had big plans for it, but it just didn't work out how I planned. I appreciate you sticking around and giving the channel a chance anyhow. Good luck with the wagon, and feel free to share some pics if you want ( montanagargae55@gmail.com ) as I love seeing what you guys are working on.👊
I think you did a great job Brad. Yeah a little too quiet for my taste. I like to hear my exhaust because I'm a little hard of hearing. Ohhh wait! Maybe That's why I'm hard of hearing 😕
Haha that could be it Gorni. I actually like it. It is not too loud just cruising along but still aggressive when you give her the onions. Thanks as always.
Thanks Brent. Yeah, I actually like it. It sounds much quieter while in the car, which is good I guess, but that's why I thought it was too quiet. Sounds good from outside and still roars a bit when you get on it. Thanks for watching.
No way to not have it close. I figured it doesn't get too hot way back there. Anyways, I haven't blown up yet so hopefully all is good. Thanks for watching Clark.

Thanks Ray. I was so exhausted I couldn't reply to this comment for three weeks! Sorry about that...
No problem buddy!

Thanks Brian. Things didn't work out to well for the Avs, huh? I might have to root for that dang Canadian team now. That kind hurts...

Thanks for the tip and for watching!
Watching Av's game 3 and your video, at 20:20 on your video the Aves ties it up 1 - 1. The timing was just to funny. The car sounds great to me.
Nice. Hopefully the Avs can pull it together. Looking a little rough so far...

Thanks for the tips man!
Sounds really good Brad. Lots of work but looks great. 👍😎✌️
It was a bit of work, and a ton of "tryin to make it work..." I actually like how it sounds too. Thanks Kevin
earle williams chassis works makes a real good gas tank centering kit, car looking good!!
I love Earl Williams Chassis Works. Great company. I've used a few of there products and they never disappoint. Thanks for watching!

Well WA-BAM, that kind hurts. aha just kidding. Thanks for the info and the feedback. Much appreciated.👊

I have the gear vendor and a TH400 on my 56. I think you will enjoy it!
Yeah I took it on the interstate the other day, and I definitely need the extra gear. Thanks for watching.
I think you did a good job ! I remember in the 80's putting exhaust on my 72 nova. all I could afford was some strait pipes and cherry bombs, cut off before the back tires. Kept me from getting tickets.
Gotta love the Cherry bombs! Thanks for watching.
Awesome job 👍🏼
Thanks man! I appreciate you watching.

👊
sounds perfect to me!!!
Thanks Brent. Yeah, I actually like it. It sounds much quieter while in the car, which is good I guess, but that's why I thought it was too quiet. Sounds good from outside and still roars a bit when you get on it. Thanks for watching.
Actually the collector length should be about 18 inches before the cutout exit.
Guess I shouldn't have shortened it then huh? Oh well. Thanks for watching!
I have the rough 56 so I’m not the newbie lol
Sometimes the o ones are the best...
To close to the gas tank for me 😢 who needs mufflers any , make the cut outs have a pipe exit in front of rear tires
No way to not have it close. I figured it doesn't get too hot way back there. Anyways, I haven't blown up yet so hopefully all is good. Thanks for watching Clark.
What does a muffler shop charge for a job like this these days? It's been 2 decades since last time... just wondering 🤔
Not sure, I didn't have the brains to check. Probably about half of what it cost me to do it myself... Thanks for watching.
