Heimdall Snitches on Atreus 🤨 | God of War Ragnarok

- Опубликовано: 15 дек 2022
- Atreus just fought Heimdall in Asgard. Heimdall was able to defeat Atreus until Thor stepped in. Odin then stops all the fighting. Odin then asks Heimdall why Atreus (also known as Loki) is covered in mud. Heimdall proceeds to snitch on Atreus, but Odin doesn't care. He is smarter than Heimdall. This is in the game God of War Ragnarok.

Odin straight up told heimdall "thank you captain obvious."
😂😂😂 yes.
He really say
"No shit heimall"
Thank you captain obvious for breaking down this clip
@fulltimeslackerii8229 you're welcome citizen!
The legendary "no shit Sherlock, really?"
“You a little trickster?” That shit got me dying idk why
Yea me to 💀💀💀
When I first saw this scene in shorts I thought it was a voice over at first😭
It’s funny because he is the God of Mischief and that would mean that would be synonymous with trickster 🤓
Loki is the Norse trickster god. I snorted when I first heard that line
He's literally saying that the way you would to a ferret. I have literally asked my ferrets if they were little tricksters in the exact same voice
It’s so subtle and calculated: look, I’m harmless, I can’t even tell when someone walks out of my blind spot, I’m not dangerous, I’m just a funny old man.
Exactly. People really out here buying his facade lol
@@dylantorres-brown5976 Honestly I do actually think he was caught off guard. Thor does something similar by approaching him quietly after being called and he just yells "AHH DON'T DO THAT!"
Odin can't easily tell when people are around his blindside or not
@@jensennguyen02 bro you are one of those people who would be easily manipulated by Odin.
He knew Heimdal moved to his blind side and he knew Thor was behind him. You can see both Heimdal and Thor seem confused by Odin acting like that in the cutscenes.
It's all an act to get Atreus to drop his guard. We see how Odin really acts when Sif comes with the 2 Valkyries and tries to arrest/kill Atreus and he puts them all in their place. That is Odin. Not the whimsical, charismatic old man who pretends not to notice Heimdal move or Thor being behind him.
It's like the scene where Atrus asks Mimir "So Odin is lying, but there's no real reason for him to be lying"
And Mimir says "A liar will lie about everything and anything, just to see if they can get away with it" it's ALL a facade. Every word and every action around Atreus is all an act to get Atrus to trust him. Odin is THAT good of a manipulator
Atreus's diary quest log entries emphasis this. He says that he can't just get over how damn respectfull Odin is, which really unsettles him.
@@dylantorres-brown5976 yeah! That's why he can f**k up pretty much every realm know and still keep Asgard in one piece.😮
Heimdall: He means to betray you
Odin: I know…I’m an asshole..I’d be more concerned if he DIDNT want that
Best comment so far 😂
Canonically Canon

Heimdall doesn’t realize that Odin is way smarter than him.
He envy him sooo sooo much lol
You sure he's all seeing and yet he doesn't know where heimdall is
Ya wasn’t Odin the one that gave him foresight?
@@2blame He knew Heimdall had changed where he was standing. Odin is an all knowing manipulator. He gives a false sense of security to Atreus by showing a softer vulnerable side of him.
@@oneoptimisticboi6977 oh
Heimdall moves to Odins blind side is the funniest bit ever
That's not his blind side when Odin turned around that would make Heimdall on his left and Odin lost his right eye
@@its_a-a-ron3220 he moved to his blind side when he was looking at atreus thats why odin still looked on his left instead of his right
@@its_a-a-ron3220He turned around, because Heimdall had moved from the view of his left eye and he moved before he turned around MEANING he moved to his blind side...
This is actually a form of deception on Odins part he is the all father he is all seeing he is purposely making himself seem like less of a threat by pretending to not know where Heimdall is hence Heimdalls confusion. Every action Odin takes is planed and meticulous every word he says has a reason and that being a means to have control over everyone and everything to control his future.
@@masonalstott5215 but Mimir Said thats just how he paints himself

He's actually the god of it 😂
They know this
We don’t actually know what loki is the god of. Loki is known for being a trickster, but he isn’t the god of trickery. As an example: Thor is the god of thunder, not getting drunk and hitting things.
There is more evidence to suggest Loki is the norse god of fire, as he is fickle, with no sense of loyalty, and dangerous.

Ugh! Don’t do that!-

Ah don't do that!
Odin is supposed to be the most knowledgeable and perceptive god in the mythology. I think he was just acting in front on atreus so he underestimates him
They both want to stand by as his right hand.
Stealthy side of beef
My favorite part was:
“Were you planning on killing me outright?”
Atreus loosens the arrow “No…”
“See?”
I bet if Heimdall had just stopped and thought to himself "ok this is most likely his first time to Asgard and due to his lack of knowledge of us Aesirs probably doesn't know how to Harm the All father or if he does he wouldn't harm him cause he is in the middle of Asgard and would be dead in seconds ehh I'll leave this giant alone" but I guess Odin puts it best he just doesn't think
@@alexpena4091I mean he directly said that to Thor, that he wasn't made to think, he was made to destroy what Odin tells him to. If he thinks of his literal son that way, I imagine he thinks of every aesir the same if not even less
@@alexpena4091best description I've seen is that Heimdall is like a magnifying glass, he sees every detail but can't see the bigger picture
@jfdfdy different tools have different handles. He tells Thor not to think, tries to get him to drink, etc., because Thor is just the weilder of the hammer. He isn't supposed to think.
Heimdall, on the other hand, he encourages to think, to see the bigger picture. It's just another small interaction that reveals how manipulating he is.
@@alexpena4091but if he looked at the right time in future wouldn’t he see Loki betraying him there in Asgard when the final battle takes place in the under Croft of his lodge
The pause for Odin when Heimdall wasn't in the same spot really got me. XD

He wasn't. It's all a facade
Oh look I'm a likable guy, I'm friendly and kinda funny. Just an old guy who doesn't even realize when somebody steps to my blind side I'm not that bad.
It's all a show to make Atreus drop his guard. You can even see Heimdals amd Thors confusion when Odin acts like this around Atreus.

And he does by disguising as tyr 😢 rip brok bro 😭
Frieza and goku 😂
Its such a small detail that Odin does a 180 to turn to Heimdall, but since Heimdall moved and Odin can't see out of his right eye, he has to do a 270
I bet that was an accident and they kept it in
@@jarjarwalter1962 lmao they just put on an eyepatch to the actor with the motion capture suit
That would only make sense if it was his left eye blinded
I'm pretty sure Odin deliberately faked that to make himself appear vulnerable, and non-threatening. He's supposed to be the All-Seeing, All-Knowing, observant God-king, and he has plenty of enemies and people who hate him. If it was that easy to sneak up on him, he'd have been killed centuries ago
His right eye is blinded but heimdall was to his left. This doesnt make sense
lol, I do love the sarcasm tone he makes. “Is that true Loki?” “You a little, trickster?”
Odin really played his role well. I love how this game shows his skills in deception. Even his own son is shocked when he kills him easily. He hid his power well
He realized he was talking to Heimdall and don't care.
No he realized Heimdall switched shoulders to drone over and was surprised when he didn’t see him on the left side as he turned around
Nah, he trust Heimdall words just that he didn’t see when Heimdall stepped to his other side
I like how you can see heimdal go next to Odin expecting him to confront Atreus but instead Odin just gives him sas like he was insulting him
Even more than that, shows a predilection to moving in Odin's blindspot. Acting when he thinks Odin isn't looking, always for the good of Asgard and Odin, but also for that "daddy's boy" little sneer behind his shoulder, as he calls down Odin on people, like the child always running to snitch to the parent thinking they'll get some kind of pat on the head.
Yet he still slinks around, himself, whenever he thinks Odin isn't watching
Odin is such a troll man 😂😂😂
I just love this different depiction of him
One of my favorite lines in the whole game is when he calls thor a “stealthy side of beef” because a 300+pound mountain of a man just popped up behind him
My favorite part about Heimdall is that upon beating the game myself, and the story director's words on a podcast, Heimdall actually has more noble reason for preventing ragnarök. In a twisted way. Because once you understand his powers, the "I see your mouth move, and i see cities burn" hinting at his mind reading powers but also the fact that loki may not habe the right reason to go to war with asgard. The lead director of the game has said that Heimdall wasn't kidding when he read loki and saw his intentions weren't to help people, but to simply destroy asgard and it's people (the asgardian's most likely not the midgardians stuck there)
Kratos 2.0. "We must be better". Will he remain the kind-hearted atreus in the future?
Yeah, he doesn't care about the people from asgard cause he knew a lot of bad stuff from them but he wanted to save Kratos
@@ShadowKiller_Chumbu but we see later on that Loki/Atreus that he has a change in perspective and that his old way of thinking was childish. And that it isn't as black and white as it seems. But we can be certain that he started his mission with 0 intent to help anyone.
@@themarinefan yeah but he still wanted the war and end of Asgard, i'm 100% sure that only people from Asgard he cared about was Thrud, Sif and maybe Thor (cause they are Thrud's family) and the people from Midgar
Heimdall can only read thoughts and intentions, not the future.
Basically he's just good at predicting things based upon the thoughts of the individual.
I love how Odin calls Atreus a "trickster" because he is Loki
Exactly!
After Atreus released Garm, Tyr-Odin said "what would lead you to such mischief? Is this Loki's doing?"
Ironically Atreus is a terrible liar in game. He hasn’t mastered the art of deception. But boy does he cause a lot of chaos in his wake.
Dammit I haven't gotten that far why did I read the comments lol
Odin's gasp 😮"is that true?" So funny, "I'm just fucking with you I already knew"
Heimdall got troll energy in this scene.
When Odin is chill he talks in lowercase

God I love Richard Schiff's performance as Odin. It's so unique and off-kilter, but simultaneously a perfect representation of a truly manipulative sociopath.
This version of Odin is a masterclass in charisma through feebleness. appear docile and incapable of anything threatening, and people will do as you say as you seem genuine. most people show no weakness, so our brains are wired to see weakness as an attempt at cooperation.
Honestly the dialogue is so good like its funny but it can also be serious or "calm"
