Cyclothon 4 -Cycle the whole coastline circumference of Japan
Note : The total coastline 29,751 km
We are raising a fund tantamount to US -war- defence budget with this one.
No he's gutta do murica
cycle subathon
Ahhh, i know you. Fan of temples?
It's kinda more complicated than that though when you take the coastline paradox into account
I remember we dedicated an entire day just for FF14 ad read or something that uses “Have you head of the critically acclaimed…?” just to juke Connor into thinking there’s another FF14 ad.
WoLs representing! YoshiP joining next cyclothon? 👀
Honestly, with how far chat takes some jokes, streamer abuse should be a widely recognized phenomenon 💀
cyclothon 3 hit while I was like bedridden with depression every day for months and i kept up w it because love this dude and wanna support and I spent days and days watching and lamenting over how much I wanted to be outside getting moving enjoying the day, how bad i wanted to feel better. so after it ended I felt inspired to start a regiment to do that and I've been doing it every single day since the cyclothon ended. I've sharpened my diet hard and I feel like a whole new person. I stood up yesterday and felt nothing but delayed onset muscle soreness from my neck to my toes and almost cried tears of joy. Thanks! Keep making good shit and changing lives with these events 💜
That sounds amazing! :D
Happy for you!!
Proud of you bro! As someone who was in a low place once as well, keep pushing.
I’m so happy that you are doing better, I know how hard it is to get up and do stuff when you’re depressed ❤
That's so great man!! I wish to have your strength one day
"How tf am I ever going to top this?" You don't have to! It doesn't have to be bigger and better each time. Success doesn't have to mean constant growth. At the end of the day, the reason people tune in is to see you, and we'll happily support you even if you put on a smaller event.
Well said.
So much this. I would actually like it a lot if they scale it back for future ones to be ~10 or so days max, and not even aim to do as much distance, with a bit more time spent to enjoy some of the more scenic routes where possible. Though I imagine that might mean more hills, and worse internet coverage. But maybe exploring specific prefectures in small loops?
I’m so proud of this community for coming together and raising over 1 million dollars. Next cyclathon will surely be the Tour de France
man congratulations, you raised 1 MILLION for charity!! great job yet again
Unfortunately, due to the time zone where I live, it was not possible to follow the lives, I hope that, like in other years, there will be a compilation of the best moments
don't worry, chris (abroad in japan) mentioned he will try to push it out soon this time
@@aelime7093 Tentatively the video should be out by end of May according to Chris.
Same, some days I could catch like half an hour to an hour after my morning meetings at work and everything else just came to me through clips, which was also enjoyable in a way
Yeah, they started at 2-3 am for me, unlucky. An absolutely horrible timezone for EU which makes the amount of viewers even more amazing
@@plosonenso basically they start while everyone's asleep, and by morning they're done cycling for the day 😢
The guests really added something special to this one. Enjoyed all of em throughout!
The entire event is monumental. A million dollars will help a lot of people suffering from CVID. Good job to everyone that made this possible, especially to Connor for organizing such an amaizng event!
Cyclothon broke my sleep schedule
Addict
Mine was already broken lol
Next time, hire a bike mechanic to come along with a stock of spares for each bike. Tubes, chains, nuts and bolts, cables. You have spares of everything electronic but the main pieces of equipment needed for a "cyclethon" would be the bicycles! The mechanic could gom over the bikes during lunches and stops.
This is big brain I hope someone on Connor's team sees this
@@mario98730 Being a Harley mechanic who put himself though MMI as a bicycle mechanic, every time I watch these I just scream at the screen.
Next trip:
The circumference of Shikoku.
On a unicycle.
Backwards.
I am so stoked you are showcasing the live streaming setup around @9:00. I sent in a few chat requests during the Cyclothon 3 live stream, asking to discuss it. I used to review helmet cameras @MarkHawkCam, and I was surprised to see you were always still using the last Sony Action Camera from 2017. I was also impressed by how much better your live streaming quality was compared to your previous Cyclothon streams. I wanted to get out there and build a rig to do something similar. Not for monetary value but just as a project. I miss going around California filming, and this rig looked like a cool idea to try to replicate and use as an excuse to get back out there to show the process. Great stuff, and congrats on raising a million dollars.
Next Cyclothon not necessarily longer but a different for example...
folding bikes,
mountain bikes ( off-road through jp ),
bike to the sea and then continue on a boat etc...
Mountain Bike and offroad doesnt sound too good, considering they already had problems with the internet reception.
An amphibian cyclethon does sound awesome though
Off-road while it seems like it'd be good, in Japan would mean entering larger mobile phone blackspots
🤔 just ideas that I came up on the spot, but you're right with the stream getting no signal.
Never been more prouder to be a part of this community. The fact that we raised over 1 million dollars is amazing. Genuinely this community is one of the best out there and as much as I hate to say it I’m really proud of Connor for making this all possible and pushing through the cycle. Also shoutout to Chris, Pete, Garnt, Felix and the van gang for their amazing efforts. You guys are seriously the best
My attention span isn't quite cut out for long streams, so I really appreciate a supercut like this.
So many great things to see and experience, thanks for sharing. And well done for raising $1M 🤯
I'm really impressed by the logistics behind the trip, actually. Props to the Van Gang.
ah, Connor Promised Streaming FF14, This makes sense. The Emontional Vampires were brought out ready to feed.
No cap, the best FF game imo. The story just gets so good the longer you play. Every other one has some downside or shitty tragedy to ruin it, but 14 being an mmo that spans entire continents and worlds means the characters you meet are near endless. I can also see Conner going for the challenge raids for hours like the tryhard he is, I think he's really missed something not being an mmo player.
I love FF14, but saying it has the best story is absolutely cap. It has the most padded and bloated story, most skippable cutscenes of any game I've ever played.
@@Janderius A lot of the early story, yeah, and watching cutscenes repeatedly in The Praetorium and similar non-skippable cutscenes while doing the raid roulettes, I get it, you wouldn't have to grind stages and rewatch those in a single player game. But I've replayed some FF games, and utter chores when devoid of the wonder of a brand-new game, especially when they retread the shitty plot lines that we forgot by the end of the game. FFX and the apparent 'marching a girl to her sacrifice' that makes up the beginning of the game, the absolute unsatisfying shit that happens in 13, 7 being known far and wide due to a meme over Aeris' death which is just the type of cop-out you expect of something from the 90s, and 9.......I don't quite remember what happened with Kuja, I was only in middle school. Oh, and I guess 15 happened.......shame about that one, I feel like I wasted my time.
In comparison, FFXIV had a much broader range of storylines to choose from once things started going. A royal poisoning, a war with dragons, your own organization being wiped out early on, then betrayed again further in. A sword-loving stalker, a war with the garleans, your soul being ripped from your body and being sent to another world, then whatever the shit happened in Endwalker (I'm poor now, so had to cancel my sub). I'm just saying, the routes available are many, and while some of them I didn't like, they are one of hundreds, and the constant callbacks of stories I thought had ended is always nice. Of the singleplayer FF games I've played, you get the one main story, and perhaps some branching side-quests at each town/settlement/region you visit, but nowhere near as involved or long.
I love how well he knows his friends. What a guy. Cycles for days, yet still shares his pizza with his bestie.
This was my favorite cyclathon. So many good moments. I was surprised when Chirs fell. Glad you're both ok. Thanks for the bts, Connor!
25:54 “He’s smoking right before doing cardio” that’s that OG formula for cyclists. Gotta train the lungs.
In my country, they smoke while cycling
Gotta open up the lungs for the climbs 😅
The LEGOland section convinced me that I need to take my family there when we do a Japan trip.
You guys did such a great job! I couldn't donate money this year, but I took your other suggestion and donated plasma for the first time ever. It was an experience and I'm glad I did it. I wouldn't have even thought of it as a way I could help, so thanks for raising awareness!
The biggest of respect for Conner and Chirs, as well as the guests and everyone behind the scenes!
You've done something incredible!
It's good to know that Connor is cycling tour de France next year. Amazing commitment
I never comment on videos, but watching this made me pretty emotional. I've been watching Connor since about 2018. i was a kid and he was doing the phone calls with the character impressions, and now i'm an adult and he's doing absolutely massive things. It's been such an amazing journey watching him and the fan base grow, and i can't wait to see where it all goes next!! :D
The production level is insane at this point, what a well done event with such a great result. Huge props to the whole team.
Congrats to everyone involved. You all managed to pull off something incredible, legendary even and you should take pride in knowing you did a lot of good for a lot of people.
Connar and Mouse almost make me believe that telephathy is real
I will say. The first few cycleathons helped me talk about something I loved with my mother, who went to Japan a while back. The info I got on you guys is awesome, to the point I had to tell her you all were doing another one. Sadly, I couldn't make many streams due to school and time zone differences. Still Great Job Connor and all those who helped in this monumental event.
Okay, but FF14 is another marathon in and of itself. And even as a FF fan, I feel sorry for him.
Pete is such a damn treasure. ^_^
Chris' drink sounds like Donald Duck having a stroke.
I'm on EST (Boston) so I normally had to stop watching around 2:00-2:30 AM my time but I'm so happy I decided to check out the stream on day 6! Watched thru day 14 up until I could, but it was so exciting. I genuinely loved being able to see parts of Japan during the springtime where all the cherry blossoms are blooming and the parts most of us would never see in general. Cyclethon is a blessing! I know it's extremely unlikely you'd do this is the USA, but I feel like there's such great terrain and scenery throughout the country. it might be fun going through the national parks!
Am very excited for the Highlight-Video, as I couldn't watch very much of it live. Am confident that Mudan and the team will release a banger Video, like they did with the last Cyclethons
I was watching everyday from day 2. I came down with a major infection and this stream was helping me relax. Thank you for the amazing work you and the crew did. 1m is insane, and you guys knocked it out of the park!
I wish I could have watched all of the streams :(
VOD is a thing for that
You can…
Same, watching live feels very different to watching vods
Also the cyclothon is the kind of thing where you don't need to be dialed in to every second and you don't have to feel fomo
@@dimensiongate.7596 but watching it knowing it happened already just ain't it
Cyclethon 3 was great! Thank you Connor and all who made it possible! Well done raising all that money and taking us through Japan on bike. How about cycling along the west or east coast for cyclethon 4?
Oh, I thought this was the actual Cyclethon vid. That would've been crazy fast editing.
I am really glad I was finally able to follow some of the live stream this time even tho it was 2am in my timezone, and also to be able to help a good cause! I really enjoyed watching and seeing all your camaraderie ❤❤❤ Congrats again on raising $1M+!
Cheers from the Netherlands. 🇳🇱
The most exciting streaming event I've ever seen! And really well organized, Connor, you and the crew done such a great job. Guests were awesome too!
this was one of the greatest events to be a part of. watched every day of every cyclethon now. You guys have a such a unique setup and no one else can compete with the character of everyone involved. I wouldn't want to ever see a cyclethon without chris, you, pete, paul, ian and of course some guests
Hello from Kazakhstan! Love Connor's videos and trash taste
Kazakhstan mentioned!? 🇰🇿
3 is the golden number lets hope connor can surpass the cyclothon 3's greatness
This was a great recap, really makin me want to go back and visit the vods for stuff I missed.
AMAZING. Teared up towards the end as well. Inspiring all of us to be a better version of our otaku self every day. The otaku king and jojo prince - Sir Connor. 🎉🎉
I caught day eleven with my room mates while we were building Gunpla, I couldn't catch any other days due to my time zone and work schedule. That being said, congrats on finishing this titanic journey and raising so much money for a wonderful cause, I hope you got the rest you so clearly deserved.
Congrats Connor all so proud of you dude 🎉
Easter egg: JaidenAnimations and Alpharad spotted in the back @ 36:47
Love hearing about the logistics and planning.
The streaming backpack is an amazing set up. I could not imagine riding with a 7kg bag on my back.
4:17 Yes please! And fish on the kayak while you're at it.
That was an amazing effort and I'm glad you guys made it in one piece. Those trucks displace air sucking you in and all that. Seeing your friend get so close you want to call out but you don't want to distract them from keeping the bike straight. If it were me cycling and I looked back, I always veer to the side a little. Could be deadly with all those trucks around.
Wish I could've seen it live! Slowly getting through the vods, love these streams
Man that is awesome, over a million dollars! Excited to see the video coming with it!
i was so sad i couldn't catch the event live this year. i cant donate money or plasma due to well.. money and health reasons lol.
the recap is much appreciated by us who cant catch the event live. keep doing bad ass shit Connor. you're doing so much for the community and raising awareness!
Bro I totally cried when you got to Tokyo Tower! What an amazing accomplishment. You are an incredible human being.
Im so sad I missed this. I always hear about the cycleathon like a week before it happens and dont see anything about it again until its over. what an amazing ride and ending though!
As an XIV player and a fan of yours I’m excited to see your playthrough. But just a heads up that it’s better to take your time and don’t feel rushed. The base game is very dense as it had to connect the previous version of XIV to the 2.0 version in terms of world building, laying out groundwork for potential expansions, etc.
Another thing I think might make it more enjoyable for you is to voice the game yourself. As a Voice Actor it will allow you to flex those skills and not many can do it. You can give them whatever accents and personalities you want which will make it more fun for you I think. (If you look up a streamer named Sebbywebz you can see what I mean as he voiced all the scenes himself).
One last bit of advice: don’t pay the emotional vampires much mind. They will come in droves but I feel your mod team can weed out the nasties. The bad apples can really ruin the experience so just ignore them and enjoy the game the way you want to. 🎉
Never been good at sitting down for streams. Especially since yours start at like 10-11 o’clock at night and I’ve got work in the morning, but I had to pop in everyday for at least a little bit just to donate for this one. 2 weeks was too big not support a little bit and you did something massive.
Congratulations, what an amazing endeavour! 🥳🥳🥳
You guys did amazing!!
Day three was so nice to fall asleep to. It was so cozy I watch it like every night
Really nice recap man
Connor content been on fire for such a long time now, these crazy sick events with the enjoyable sick gaming streams, truly something for everyone and always a blast
Thank you for the continued entertainment and support to great causes Connor!
Biggest stream and event for the year… can hardly wait for the 4th one!!!!
I think what killed the stream was the redeem spamming. On the last day every time the connection cut out was when the point redeem spam was going wild. Also you guys did an amazing job, there aren't enough words to describe how great of an accomplishment this was.
This dedication to the craft makes connor my favourite youtuber of all time. Sadly I could only catch the ending of the streams but I'm definetly watching the VODs
I’m just so happy and proud this is so awesome
life is good :3
so proud of you connor :)
36:46 A wild Aplharad and Jaiden appeared
amazing job dude!
Natsuki is just like me fr. Smoking before biking. Or even smokin on the bike
Your cyclothon stream cheered me up from my depression. Thank you and everybody for what they did for the Immune Deficiency Fund!
I love the fact it's like cyclethon-3 trailer with a lot of funny bits in it
Anotha one
And to think this is the sort of thing Chris wanted to do on his own with the first Journey Across Japan but in video format. It definitely works a lot better as a stream.
But I agree, I have no idea how you can top this, literally cycling Japan fully east to west in 2 weeks and streaming probably the biggest cycle you can do unless you figure out a zigzag route across the country to visit every prefecture or something.
Great video about a great event.
Aakengine is on fire since last few videos.
I managed to watch 1st halves live and vod the 2nd half except for fridays and weekends. Out of Nara and that one dang hill at the end... oofff!
For not cycling much, Natsuki and especially Pete were freaking troopers. Yuki calling him out was hilarious
Extra kudos for Mousey hosting a fun place to hang out, supplying bingo cards and whatnot
Sorry for being a part of that viewership dip, but I love to save watching these for my days off. Have each segment in the background while working out, gaming and shit.
I can't wait for Chris' video next year.
It was an amazing journey
great job dude
love that 32:20 is a clip of seacliff bridge in australia when hes talking about wales bahaha
I was watching on my lunch break at work when they hit 1 MIL. I didnt get to catch the end live. Oh well i did watch the best part. :D
I just watched chris's video on cyclathon 2 and that was the first I heard of it. I went back and saw your video was over 10 months ago, so its wild just watching all the c2 content to now hearing there was a third one
I was born at the right time.
Hopefully you guys keep biking a bit or something up, both for general cardio and for the muscle conditioning. Would probably make it drastically easier lol. Great fun from what i watched tho! The amount raised was nuts for sure, congrats!
Kayak stream would be sick!
Keep it going, as long as u like it
for the champagne, emily was the distraction... Pete was the real menace lol
i was at the tokyo tower event, it was so fun, my internet completely shit out aswell, too many people using internet
Can we get a round of applause for the cyclothon GOAT Ian?
wow. suoi. so amazing;) you guys did something awesome.
yeah
15:40 because of my eu time i was going to sleep by the rain hitting at the stream start. best sleeping background noise
A kayaking stream would be incredible to see.
Preferably paddling on a route that not just a big body of water, when paddling it's much more enjoyable imo when you can find a route with calm water and pretty nature.
Ofc it's exciting when theres parts where the water is a bit more rough and ... river-y lol.
I imagine with the streamer equipment you'd want to paddle in calm part though
Cyclothon 4 circumference of the mother earth
boi you did us proud with this cyclethon
Pete: Be the Gaijin they want you to be
All my hard work of falling asleep with the stream on has paid off, ill be waiting for my check 🦍
HOW TO TOP THIS 1 : BUBBI CAN HELP
2: FLY ME TO THE MOON
3: CHALENGES OF SOME SORT LIKE POKEMON GO OR SOMETHING
Great job
