The TLM chaplaincy in our city (Perth in Australia) is booming, with standing room only and about seven Masses on a Sunday during covid. Also filled with young people!
Thank You Jesus for revealing to me today - 2 July 2022 the "Narrow Road to Sanctity" through this beautiful video by Peter and his friend and the timely book "Reclaiming our Catholic Birth Right" through TLM, Amen.
Thank you Drs. Kwasniewski and Curran. Please do more videos on the TLM. I've already devoured Dr. K's books and have given them as gifts to other Catholics. So blessed to have a FSSP parish only an hour away and a diocesan TLM 40 minutes away, and they're always very well attended with more Catholics migrating to the TLM all the time. Praise God. "The growth of the Traditional Latin Mass is the movement of the Holy Spirit, and it is unstoppable." Bishop Athanasius Schneider
Dear Dr Kwasniewski. You might recall giving a two lectures at the Newman parish in Melbourne a couple of years ago. In recent weeks our attendance at Mass has shot up markedly, it really is marvellous. And recently we even got a fourth priest, Fr Arthur, who you may have met at St Gerard's in outer Melbourne. Like me, many others in the parish fondly recall your thoughtful discussions of some aspects of Vatican II. Best wishes and God Bless !!!
Dear Christopher, yes, I do remember that day very fondly. Every TLM apostolate of which I am aware has experienced marked growth during 2020 and 2021. Please give my greetings to Fr. Arthur when you see him next. God bless you!
Thank you for the book, doctor. I'm 30 and I converted from Lutheranism to Catholicism at 24 and have for the last couple of years become interested in the Latin Mass. The closest is unfortunately is an hour away. I do have a couple of Byzantine catholic parishes close by though. What are your thoughts on the liturgy and rite of Byzantine? I have been searching for an academic comparison of TLM and the Byzantine liturgy but have been unable to.
Dear James, I absolutely love the Byzantine Divine Liturgy. It was one of the influences in my life (for a period of several years) that helped me to see what was wrong with the Novus Ordo Missae. Here is an article that could be helpful to you: www.newliturgicalmovement.org/2018/06/the-byzantine-liturgy-traditional-latin.html#.X2-sNNlKiUk
This is a wonderful discussion. What are some pointers for priests who experience a similar discovery of our birthright to help them share this discovery with indifferent parishioners in N.O. land?
It's hard to get people who are indifferent to liturgical prayer or formed in bad habits to respond positively to it (initially). There are two main things that can be done. First, a priest simply has to "soldier on": add the TLM to the parish schedule, starting perhaps once a month, then moving to once a week (e.g., Saturday morning), and then even more, if it's possible. People will slowly start coming, word will spread, it will grow. Second, he needs to preach - gently at first, but with clarity - about the meaning of the Mass as a sacrifice, the reason we worship 'ad orientem,' the need for adoration, kneeling for communion and receiving on the tongue, etc., so that the minds of the faithful can be opened to the traditional liturgy, where all of these things come together in harmony.
A lot has changed in the Church from two years ago and new people to Tradition and the struggle to maintain the Authentic Catholicism and it's only authentic Mass canonized by Pope St. Pius V in Quo Primum. With the normalized persecution of the TLM in the Diocesan structure, Archbishop Lefevre and his priests mission has once again been VENDICATED. Lefevre is and was a Prophetic figure in the battle for the immutable Apostolic Faith!
I worry that the FSSP stands to be unjustly tampered with if not outright abolished by Pope Francis. Is it true for example their priests are no longer allowed to read the Epistle and the Gospel in Latin at the altar?
No, that's not true. Most FSSP clergy are still following the correct rubrics by reading or singing the lections in Latin. Sometimes (esp. on Sundays) they will then read them in the vernacular from the pulpit. The FSSP's constitutions (exclusive use of TLM) were reaffirmed by Pope Francis in February.
@@DrKwasniewski Dear Dr. Kwasniewski, THANK YOU! I have been “binge watching” your channel! My husband and sister and I have been going to the TLM since the end of last year. We are in Saint Bridgets Parish Las Vegas Nevada and there is one Latin mass on Sunday per week. I am old enough to remember going to Latin mass (barely) and WOW WOW WOW! What an awesome gift to come HOME! God bless you and keep up the GREAT work!✝️🙏❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Do you have any plans to come to Vegas?

"A casual Liturgy eviscerates faith. A reverent Liturgy fosters faith." Truth.
Aren't we so blessed to have 2 intelligent catholics help us understand our God given faith

Lefebvre, through the grace of Jesus Christ, saved the Latin Mass, and he is likely a recognized saint in Heaven.
theft, loss, anger
Thank you for letting me know that I wasn't crazy for experiencing thst.
Excellent conversation! The book, Reclaiming Our Roman Catholic Birthright, is a fantastic book. It’s a must read!

Worth listening to: Informative and very easy conversation among very learned men who don't talk down to us or over our heads. Real faith here.

The syriac catholic liturgy is adoration with reverence and growing in nz.. The Indian immigrants have brought it with them .

@@peterkwasniewski9003 Excellent paper, professor! It and the comments answered many of my questions.
I was shocked to see that an old Lutheran Service looks more Catholic than the NO...
