    Dear Carla, I am starting my weight loss journey, I used to be vegan for 1,5 years, I was in the best shape and health of my life, also due to very good fitness. Then my mental health plumeted, due to therapy and antidepressants I had to take. As you said in another video, my inner child is now healing but due to the antidepressants I put on a lot of weight (of course also to my bad mental state, fatigue and therfore more food, no vegan etc.). I am now in the good state of mind to tackle weight and my bad choices of food I have made in the past. Can totally relate to you, your videos help me get back to the ME that i was. Thank you!

    I find my nutribullet invaluable for my 'breakfast' meal (typically had any time between 11-2pm depending on if it's a weekday or a weekend). I prep it before i start work as the spinach, kale, brassica & berries that i use are all frozen. By the time i wizz it up it's all soft enough to mix really easily along with the water, avocado maybe mushroom (extra vit D is always good in winter) and whichever combo of seeds i'm having that day (i seed cycle - i'm not quite at that point in my life yet but seeds are always good nutrition anyway).
    The shake is massive and very filling. I don't really need anything else to eat for the rest of the day after one of these monsters but i do 😋

    Hey, Carla. This is my 2nd time watching this video and I've been really inspired by your efforts to reduce food wastage. I tend to get a lot of food (especially produce), but I haven't always been great about using it, before it expires. I'm trying to change that and be more conscious of what I'm getting and how I'm going to use it, as well as actually following through on using it to meal prep. I'm about a month in and feeling pretty good about things. I still have yet to plan out my meals for the week, but I at least have an index card on my fridge with a list of meals that I can either pull out of my fridge/freezer, at any time, or quickly make with what's in my pantry. I'm throwing away a lot less food, so it seems to be working. Anyway, thanks again for these tips!

      Awe thanks so much for your lovely message. MSM powder helps with inflammation and helps with skin health. It can sometimes be considered like a vegan collagen, but be warned, it tastes rank 😂

    I am an unapologetic omnivore, but I love my grains and veggies, too. 😉 I really like reducing food waste which also lowers costs, so I'll be planning my meals. Thanks for the ideas!

    Hi Carla thanks so much for this video. Took notes! I have been thinking about you doing five 10 week BodySlims courses. Did you continue with Body Slims during the time between the end of one BodySlims and the start of the next one? Seems like the you would not want to mess with your BodySlims consistency and routines with food and the one hour walk. But I am curious about whether you modified anything between courses. I hope you see this and get a second to answer. Nancy Martin Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada.

      Hi Nancy, yes I kept going between each course, I allowed myself a little more "wiggle room" in terms of calories (200 to be precise) and walked the 1 hour per day but didn't focus too much on speed and then when the next cycle came I went all in again xx

      @@HalfofCarla Hi Carla thanks very much. This is precisely what I will do. I weighed myself on Wednesday weigh in and after week one (my own BodySlims plan waiting for Jan 18) I lost 3 pounds! Thrilled!!! 47 to go to a 22 BMI. One hour cycle every day. I love your you tube and Instagram channels!! They have allowed me to know I will achieve both my 50 pound fat loss goal and a host of my non-scale victory goals. I wish you knew how fortunate I feel to have found you and BodySlims. You are the best!! I thought I was done losing fat because I never contemplated becoming a normal weight. I became convinced I can do it when I saw you had done it. I have lost a total of 129 pounds over the years. And to have only 47 to go is blowing my mind. I plan to enjoy every single pound I lose!! I cannot thank you enough for sharing your story.

    You said you don't eat dairy .cheese and yogurt are dairy. popcorn is high in salt.

      There are vegan and non-dairy versions of both yogurt and cheese. Popcorn can be high in salt, but doesn’t have to be, and occasionally consuming higher sodium foods is not a concern for people who do not have medical counter-indications.

    it seems like eating healthy costs a to of money! the haul was great but looked like a lot of specialty vegan items and produce, which I'm assuming you have to make good money to be able to afford, no?

      Absolutely not, you don’t have to eat speciality vegan products to be healthy. Vegetables, grains and legumes are probably the cheapest produce. I chose to eat vegan alternatives while losing weight but a lot of them are available in Aldi, Lidl, Iceland etc
