    “You can’t control the number on the scales, you can only control…your input.., and your output”. I really needed to hear that, thank you!

    This was such a helpful video! Thank you! Today was weigh in for my second week completed on Body Slims. My first week I only lost 1.8lbs and my second week now, 2lbs. Yes they are losses and I should be celebrating my victories with praise and compassion towards myself for my efforts. I have stuck 💯 to the whole plan from eating healthy and keeping in my calorie allowance, walking every day except once because I had the dentist right after work(in a city an hour away from me and I didn’t bring walking shoes.. had only my business shoes) and was home too late. Anyways.. all other programs I have done I have lost a much larger amount of weight the first (few) week(s), I was very much hoping to see that scale number a lot lower. But then I think.. I have to be putting on muscle. I have been extremely sedentary these last 4 years (cocooned and isolated myself after my 20 marriage split, put on 80lbs and got a corporate desk job). I walk 1 hour daily now. In these two weeks my NSVs (Non-Scale Victories) include: clothes feel looser, body feels more corseted in(does that make sense? Like the muscles in my torso feels like more cinched, I can walk easier and the hour walk feels so much easier(and I look forward to it), I am more energetic, I can go up stairs easier, and a big one.. I started putting my needs first. In this time of only two weeks, I also feel better about myself.. much better and more positive mood, happier and feel that had a good impact on me getting a dream position at work now from hiring chefs for our cruise ships to being a culinary trainer for the chefs on our ships(I have a culinary arts degree and was a pastry chef when I was younger).. so big changes to celebrate, even if the scale didn’t move as much as I was hoping. I try to stay in a positive spot concentrating on the NSV and not focusing on the scale. Thank You Carla!! 🖤🖤🖤

    I’m so happy I found your channel. I do a program called No BS and what you did lines up with what my program is teaching me. It’s so refreshing and rewarding to see someone has such success with the way I’m learning to get in control of not only my weight but my life. So many ppl are putting out videos for quick fixes but don’t focus on the underlying thoughts that lead us to weight gain in the first place. Anyway I’ll just be over here stalking your channel ❤️❤️❤️💪🏾

    I have been on my weightloss journey for 7 weeks and I have lost 8 lbs. That number is disappointing to me because in the times before when I had lost weight before I dropped weight so quickly. Last time I dropped 80lbs in 4 months(but I put all that weight back on). I have to remind myself that 8lbs in 7 weeks is amazing. I am being consistent. I am still in the white-knuckling portion until I start therapy in 2 weeks. I am fighting my binge eating disorder mostly on my own and I have lost 8lbs. I can not wait to see what I can accomplish as I fix my mental health and as I learn more about nutrition and habit-building. Thank you for your videos as they have been a great tool to keep me going

    Thank you for talking about this Carla. I have always had a huge fear of the scale that I never understood. You have normalized this experience and given some very good ways to overcome it. I will be implementing this immediately ❤

    Yes, I just started this week getting on the scale, actually, twice per day. Am and Pm to understand the food and water along w exercise data. It tells me if I was in a caloric deficit mode the day before. Also, overcoming the fear of the scale. I just got mad at it! Now when I see a lost throughout the week I feel more motivated and can adjust to continue on and look forward to achieving my goal each Monday which is losing 1 lb per week.

I am so emotional about stepping up on a scale, that sometimes I could not do that! And all the therapists suggest that I should not doing it at all!!

      I currently can’t have a scale in the house, I have such a bad relationship with it and would weigh myself when I shouldn’t. Sometimes if weigh myself multiple times a day and obviously the number will be different because I’ve eaten and drank and all that and other times I’d weigh myself the day after a night out where I know the number would be up and then beat myself up over the number. Covid last year sent me into a spiral and I’ve gained so much weight since then from it bringing up so many negative emotions and memories and struggling to get the weight down and off. Just have to remind myself to keep going and not give up.

    I’m pretty much where you were. Had my son in 2019. Stressful ttc journey before caused me to find comfort where I could… gained 30 pounds in a few months after my wedding.
    Your method of consistency over motivation seems like a revelation. I cannot watch the scale. But if I don’t know what I’m doing is helping it makes it harder to continue.

    Wow. 🖤 I'm so sorry you had to go through all that. This was a good video for me today. As this is my day 3 of no smoking. I'm jumping out of my skin a bit. I can't tell anyone else about this particular struggle because NOBODY knew. But it seems crazy I'm doing all this to get healthy and shooting myself in the foot with a detrimental habit. So tomorrow will be a little easier I hope. We do hard things, only now the hard things are to show up for ourselves. 😊❤

    I just found your channel! Congrats on your weight loss and the birth of your beautiful son!! Being that you were heavy since a child and with such a dramatic weight loss in a relatively short amount of time, I'm sure you have some loose skin. Have you had any plastic surgery to remedy that or are you happy in your own skin, albeit loose skin?? I've got loose skin of my own and am always struggling with whether or not to have it removed...

    Hi Carla- Thank you for being so vulnerable and transparent with your journey. You’re such a motivator for me. As you say, I’m ‘I’m in the Middle’; -80 lbs of a 135 lbs total to lose, so 55 to go. I do weigh myself daily and have learned to see it just as ‘data’. You’re a great example of a healthy lifestyle. ❤❤❤

    Thank You I’m losing weight have you lost 137/140 depending on the day. I am obsessed with the scales. I’m like you
    always been over weight, Weight goes up and down i’m walking about an hour day or a little longer. The problem is now I do good watching what I eat till it is after supper. I want to suck on sugar free candy. And I can do probably 7 to 10 pieces before I go to bed I want something in my mouth. Today I am trying just to drink and drink water because my mouth gets so dry because I’m on different medication and they make my mouth dry do you have any suggestions about something I can do to help myself I feel like if I will stop that at night it will help me so much. I know it’s an addiction it makes me so nervous not to have it enjoy your program thank you so much😅😊❤

    • @HalfofCarla
      @HalfofCarla  2 года назад +1

      I didn’t drink, I could count on one hand the Number of times I drank during my weight loss journey. It just wasn’t worth the calories for me, never made me feel good and didn’t bring me closer to my goal. Nearly all the alcohol on our cart was a gift and we stopped drinking regularly about 7 years ago.
