I am still at the beginning of weightloss. I haven't stopped lying about everything food related to myself, but i have stopped lying to myself about how uncomfortable I am at the size I am. I dont like it. It hurts , its embarrassing, its uncomfortable. I will never get anything changed if i keep telling myself that everything is fine. Its not! A person my height should never be this heavy! I am carrying 2 people around all day. The start is a good hard look in the mirror. And not being okay with it.

⭐ Thanks for this. The "stop lying to yourself" hits home. I need to stop lying about my portion sizes. That's my biggest challenge. Just because I'm not eating after 7pm doesn't mean the calories of my double or triple portion of pasta at lunch won't add up. Even if my dinner is a salad. I've gotten the habit of intermittent fasting, now I need to get my calories under control.

⭐️ Thank you so much. I stopped under-eating and over exercising, oddly enough. I looked at 5 different calculators for me age and height and averaged them. Turns out I needed MORE calories than MyFitnessPal said. I started loosing weight and have consistently. I became kinder to myself and only exercise for fun and endorphins and because it feels good. Not as a punishment or to “burn” off overeating. 28 pounds and counting. My mindset has changed and that’s where it all begins. And ends, frankly.

The "stop lying to yourself" is huge. I'm working on that and I'm getting better in recognicing "the voice" when it pops up.
Also: not invoking loopholes is something I'm working on. I don't need to eat bc I had a bad day., or bc I'm happy today - insert any reason here.

I needed this chat this morning. I weighed in today. It really puts things in the right perspective. I am mindful when I eat something as a treat while staying within my personal points. My husband is now following me in my diet. I told him to stop telling me how much he was losing weekly because it was frustrating for me. He gives up eating a cracker and drops 10 pounds! LOL🌟

I went on RUclips looking for inspiration & came across your channel. You have not disappointed! Alot of your content I have learned from my own experience & research but it is SO inspiring & affirming hearing it from someone who has been there! I've had SO many starts and forgive me for the term "fell off the wagon". I've decided to do this for me. 2 months ago I asked a sweet friend of mine if she would pray for me on my journey...bless her heart, she set an alarm to remind her & continues to pray for my journey daily! What an amazing friend! That is when I was able to stay on track!! I'm still in the weight loss part of the journey but I'm going in for the lifestyle ...this is going to be my new me even in maintenance phase! I've lost 27 lbs and have 27 more to go to my goal.

Hello, I wanted to answer something you said about motivation. I really struggled to ever “feel” like it. It always seemed incredibly hard to just start. I finally read somewhere that motivation only comes after not before. It comes after you’ve taken your walk. It will come after you’ve meal prepped for the week. Action creates the motivation so start and the motivation will follow 😊❤🇨🇦

Rationalization is the saboteur of people trying to lose weight! Absolutely agree that it's about changing your mindset on achieving your weight loss/maintenance goals! Not telling a lot of people applies to other areas of your life. I've learned to keep my plans to myself and let the results do the talking.

Now I can have those things, and even when I have too much, I can say it’s okay, you can make a better choice next time, it’s okay, you still worked really hard today.

That clicked: Don't intentionally integrate weekly "cheat" or "treat" days during the weight loss phase. Why sabotage all your efforts? There will be more flexibility once you hit the maintenance stage. And maintenance is boring. It will be time to use the discipline and skills developed for new goals. Excellent advice, I think.
I want to lose about 15 lbs, which at menopause is incredibly slow, but I am really excited about seeing the discipline develop and letting the results unfold at whatever rate they will. I am mentally ready for this to take a year or two. Comparisonitis is destructive in this area.

⭐⭐⭐- Not lying to myself and not telling people (except a select few) about my journey this time has been key to my weight loss. I knew I couldn't lie to myself because at the end of the day, there was no one else there except me and the only one who knew the lies was me and once I stopped doing that I stopped harming myself the way that lying harms those you do it to. And I only told one person at work when I started because I knew she would be my cheerleader and then I wouldn't be able to say no to her when she wanted to walk. Lol. I did tell my mom, sister, and my doctor. But that was it. And it was such a gift. Thank you for this video and all the ones you've done!

🌠 It seems like such a small thing, but I have stopped eating those little tidbits of whatever it is I'm cooking for my family, with the lie that I must make sure it's seasoned properly or that it fell off the cutting board so it's "free". I need help with the rebellious four-year-old in me that throws herself on the floor kicking and screaming if I don't order a pizza right now. I can stay on Keto, no problem, no cravings, for four or five days, then that spoiled little girl shows up. She wants what she wants and she wants it right now. She doesn't understand "no"! And she also doesn't get "just one piece". I am experiencing really bad consequences now, and still, I can't fight her. I know it's all in my head, it's got nothing to do with real stomach hunger.

You could look into Jeff Novick's talk on calorie density and Dr Doug Lisles talk losing weight without losing your mind. These may help, as you can create abundant pizzas full of veggies and calorie dilute foods that suit everyone (even us on our weight loss journeys!!!) And your four year old wont know the difference and will probably love the healthier option which is better for their health too ❤ You shouldn't feel hunger. I think you'd gain alot from these talks alongside Carla's other videos.

🌟🌟🌟 I love the star dress! Thank you for these 5 things that I am going to stop doing right now. One major thing I stopped doing is thinking I'm unworthy of losing the weight. I deserve to be fit and happy! Not just for me, but for my family and friends. I won't be in my head all the time about where or what my next meal will be, will I break that chair? Will I be able to stand long enough? So much gratitude for having found you!

For the past year,I have been giving myself an "off" day each week to feel normal. I wanted to be appear to be able to go out and be like everyone else. This worked for the first 100 lbs. Now almost 6 months after my Thanksgiving binge-fest, I have lost only 13 lbs. So I went shopping for fitted pants (no more elastic waists!) to see my true progress. I could squeeze into 16W bc it fit my hips perfectly (squat test and all). 18W fit my waist, but was baggy in the hips. So I am somewhere in between. Yay! The scale doesn't show the inches lost (still wearing 24W straight or tent dresses). Still, "off days" are "cheat days". I need to go all in! My new treat will be buyiing 2 or 3 outfits every month in whatever size I am. Looking foward to June's shopping spree!

I needed to hear the little segment on cheat days. Sometimes my brain tries to tell me that it is ok for me to over eat. "Ill just have one more bite" or "One more piece of this won't hurt" or "Just one more" Then before I know it I have consumed like 500+ calories. I am starting therapy soon but until then I really needed to hear this.
