🦊❤❤❤ My excuse was that "I'm post menopausal so I can't lose weight." However, I got rid of that narrative. I'm down 77 lbs. I went from a size 16 to a size 4. I have 4 lbs. left to reach my ultimate goal!!
I literally watched the intro as I was going to put my pj on and not go to the gym because (insert reason of choice)… so thanks for the wake up call! Writing from the stair master. 💀
🦊I had plantar fasciitis when I was at my heaviest and oh lord was it painful to get out of bed in the mornings. My husband (the only human praying mantis to suffer from this while being stick thin) taught me how to stretch and ice my feet to help heal them. Over time it went away as I lost weight. Thank you for another wonderful video 🥰
I had plantar fasciitis for 2 years. 2 steroid injections and 3 doctors later I was finally cured with the correct shoes, orthotics and stretches. It was sooooo painful!!! 🦊
This video really talked to me. I had plantar fasciitis and you are correct about the pain. It is so bad you dread walking. I also admire that you were able to lose that much weight. I am a lot older than you, but I am on my own weight loss journey. I have lost 50 lbs and need to lose at least another 50 lbs. However at the moment, I am struggling with the food plan and letting my emotions rule. You are so right that we are our own worst enemy and it is so hard to convince yourself that you can do it.
Mmmm, diet CAKE 🤤 My recipe is Calorie-counting, Activity, Kindness, and Empowerment (CAKE) 🙃 Thank you for the video, Carla. Plantar fasciitis is indeed a b*tch. 🦊
I have plantar fasciitis and a ton of back and neck pain because of my very large bust size. I have about 90 lbs to lose to reach the “normal” weight category on the bmi scale. It’s tough to feel good and try to do any exercise when everything hurts. I have good days when I don’t have so much pain and can do more. I’m doing the best I can to lose weight through a healthy diet so eventually I can incorporate more exercise. Placing my feet on the floor to push myself off my bed and get up every morning feels like stepping on knives sometimes. At the end of the day right before bed if I stick my feet in a big bucket of ice water for 5 minutes it feels nice. Your content has really been helpful and inspiring. It helps to keep me going. Thank you
❤❤❤ 🦊 15 years ago, when I let my friend for 20 year meet my new boyfriend (now an ex since 8 year), my friend told my boyfriend that ”Annkatrin, she is the queen of excuses ” 😂 But he was right. I have excuses for everything. But I havent think about it, what my excuses is/was for not loose weight. I will write in my new journal, when it arrives. ❤ But one old very very stupid excuse was that if I loose weight my boobs would get smaller and then I would not have anything that men would like at/with me. (Tired and english is hard) 🤯
🦊 As someone with a challenging cluster of chronic health challenges, I certainly had fears that I was simply incapable of losing weight. However, your videos helped me find the motivation to try anyway. If I am honest, I still have fears about making it to my ultimate goal and then maintaining. At this stage, I still look to your content to find encouragement about going forward. I will always be grateful for the many ways you have helped me along the way, so thank you. 🦊
Me too, my body is a wreck… I keep reminding myself that weight loss is 80% diet and 20% exercise. When I learned that, I had to let go of some self-limiting beliefs. I can’t walk for a whole hour right now but I can make physical progress a little at a time 🎉❤
Great video. I think so many of us have told little half truths to ourselves. We think it's easier to lie than it is to "do the thing" my excuse was... anything that I could think of. But mostly : i have too much to do right now, but after this (holidays, vacation, work 😊 will do it. I also would require perfection. If I ate a piece of cake then that's it! The whole diet is ruined. Really it was just another excuse.
THANK you for mentioning food addiction, I've been struggling for decades with it and always thinking how hard it is to get rid of it, because you can't go without food like you can go without alcohol or drugs. Not to minimize the suffering of alcohol or drugs addicts, but there is a possibility to get off your drugs, with food addiction there just isn't.
I’m experiencing plantar fasciitis as well, but I know that losing the 250 extra pounds will help in the end. I’ve decided to walk daily, even if it’s at 0.5 mph. Believe it or not, it helps the pain! Thanks for these vids, Carla. They’re really helping me stick to it.
I also had plantar fasciitis in the past - best physical therapy that helped me was to write the alphabet in the air with my big toe to warm up and stretch whenever I was experiencing heel pain. But actually, I managed to lose my first 60 lbs in a year by switching to plant-based and breaking my restaurant habit without adding exercise, I was actually doing less exercise that year due to working from home in 2020. I did add walking and more dancing to break through my first plateau in 2021, and lost another 50 lbs, but have been stuck in another plateau over a year now. It seems that metabolism changes as the body tries to maintain weight, adjusting to the new normal lifestyle, so additional tweaks need to be made to break through plateaus. I have improved my eating habits and challenged myself with my activities, and it becomes harder to figure out where I can make more changes to continue losing weight.
🦊 thanks for another great video. I’m so happy you sold out all the journals, I’m just sad I didn’t get on the site in time to get a green or black one. Hopefully you’ll do another order soon! Congratulations!!! 🎊🍾 🎉
I am suffering from plantar fasciitis, and it's horrible, and my feet are so swollen that my shoes don't fit. (I dont know if that's from the plantar faciitis or something else) I am afraid I will hurt myself if I try to go for a proper walk. My depression has gotten worse from not being able to move my body. My food addiction is also something I am dealing with, I'm in therapy for it, but I don't know what I can substitute the food addiction for instead. Your videos are helping me to not only see that this can be done, but it's making me change how I think of myself, and that's undoing 25 years of self hate. Thank you Carla, for doing these videos and for just being you. 🖤🦊
@@HalfofCarla That sounds better than to replacing it with something else, thats true. I've mentioned to my therapist that I'm watching your videos and she thinks its great that it can get me to see things differently. 🖤
I love your videos! It’s so nice to watch a channel that talks about the emotional side of a weight loss journey (which is arguably the most important part). Btw, I got plantar fasciitis last year from walking to/from work in the city and it killed me. It’s actually gotten better since I’ve started hiking. I think the soft dirt is actually helping. But I feel your pain! ❤
I had plantar fasciitis for over a year! My doctor had me wear a boot for two months! When I finally got to stop wearing it, within a week, the pain came back. Finally got rid of it by eating a whole food plant based diet and losing 60 pounds.
Carla, thank you for these incredible videos- you always make me feel like trying and showing up for myself by explaining things so well and so honestly and showing us how we can do it. I’m definitely going to read your book recommendation Everything is Figureoutable. I often tell myself I don’t have enough time but I’m sure if I invest in tracking I’ll figure out where my time can more wisely be spent. I can’t believe how much time I dedicated to watching tv and then I’d complain I didn’t have time to do anything 😂 You remind us that the seemingly impossible is absolutely attainable, the story we tell ourselves has such a massive impact on our lives and we all have the power to change our lives for the better 🦊
🦊 love your videos. I am older and have been battling weight loss my entire life. Working on my mental health and learning to show up for myself is helping readjust my thinking and goals. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. ❤
I'm hypermobile, and it's not possible for me to stretch my calves enough to get my feet to stop hurting. When my feet are flexed as far as they can physically go, I get half a stretch. But I used a massage gun on my calves for two minutes one evening, and it almost immediately got rid of the plantar fasciitis. So now I do that any day I go for a walk, and it keeps the plantar fasciitis from taking hold.
🦊 Great video, as always! I am very familiar with plantar fasciitis, having had it a few times (2x over a year). I feel i am now somewhat of an expert, and I am very careful to watch for the signs of a new bout beginning. You seem so happy and centered. So happy for you with all of your recent and well-deserved successes. xoxo
🦊 You make me laugh not remembering how old you are. I don’t know how old you are but remember your birthday is December 19-the day before my birthday! We Sagittarius Girls…….❤
Not having enough time is definitely one of my excuses. And I am recently retired, so I know that is BS, I have so much more free time now than I did a few months ago, but I am definitely not managing my time as well as I could be. Wasting too much time on watching videos, rather than more physical activity and exercise. I think I need to create more structure for myself, schedule in the physical activity, stop frittering away so much time potatoing the couch.
Yes plantar fasciitis, I’ve had it since 2016… it’s actually one of the excuses for gaining the weight that I should never have put on. The real reason is that I’m addicted to sugar (or sweet foods.)

No excuses to Extraordinary is a good way to put it.
It does take extreme consistency to get to a goal weight and discipline to keep it off,
