What i love to listen to on my walks, is me. 😂I record myself thinking about what I'm doing in my life, how I could make things work better, what is going well, what I love...... just an audio journal. It's weird to say, but I am so eager to hear back what I said on my walk. It helps me organize those thoughts (sort of like morning pages, brain dump but audio). It makes me look forward to my walk. And as I'm listening I come up with new and better ideas. Sometimes on my way back I'll record the feelings and thoughts that came up on the audio. I find it to be so motivational and also keeps me grounded in myself. I am surprised how much I love this practice and how it makes me eager to get walking.
Great video! To anyone sitting on the fence, do it! I remember during one of my morning walks tearing up because it was working and thinking to myself what if i hadn't found Bodyslims? I would have been in a continual state of sadness about not being able to beat this weight problem> I felt so so humbled. As a side note, the amount of actual fat you lose is striking- its incredible!! I felt so good, mentally, physically and my self confidence grew so much!! This time I know more about what to expect and what to make time for. You really have to treat it like being in a grad school course with lectures and homework. This time I'll plan better for watching all the content and for the exercise (I have injuries that can flare up with walking, but I'm going to use swimming on painful days). You're inspiring!!

I'm getting ready to start Body Slims next week (Sept 2023). I have already been doubting myself and thinking I shouldn't have wasted my money on yet another program that I'll probably fail at. @@stephburke2010 It just ended yesterday and I lost a total of 15.2 pounds in 10 weeks. I know it's not the huge numbers some people have, but I'm totally thrilled! Not bad for a 66 yr old gal who'd been slowly gaining weight back over the past couple years and who felt hopeless and helpless. This program totally changed my mindset and as you can see, my results as well! I've also signed up for January 2024 and in that round, I hope to reach my goal once and for all! Did you just do this round, or will January be your first time?
Set to start on the 20th and I can't wait! I'm feeling all the feels, but mostly I'm confident that this will be the last weight loss journey I'll ever have to make! 🌹

🥀🌹❤ Thanks for sharing, Carla! I’ve been struggling lately as I am/was so close to my original goal weight (up 10 lbs from my lowest) and it’s getting harder to get there. But mostly it’s getting hard mentally because I’ve realized my original goal weight will be “good” but not great…I definitely won’t be content at that weight. I like what you said about getting to great will help you be more you have better chances of being able to maintain.
I have been going through your videos and decided to sign up. Sadly I missed the current session so wont officially start until April BUT I am taking a tip from your videos and "starting" now. Will push for a daily hour walk so when it officially starts, I have that down pat and can build with the more mental focus learning. 🌹 Day 3 for me today. Going to talk to my husband about joining bodyslims in January. For now I’m working on this journey by watching your videos, walking everyday (increasing time everyday), decreasing food intake, making better food choices, drinking so much water, and working on my mental health. I have started at nearly your same stats. I was on a call with my mom this morning (she is about 30 lbs lighter than me) and she has all this expert advice on weight loss. So when you said you were an expert on weight loss at your heaviest, I laughed out loud. That’s true of both my mom and myself. I’ve caught myself giving advice to my mother-in-law who is about double my size. But as I said before, you have shown me that beacon of hope and I’m walking toward it!

I attend a weight loss clinic, and when I have brought up my concerns that my mental health needs help, it was waved off and I was told just to focus on counting calories and workout more regularly. This threw me into a bit of a tailspin of feeling helpless, but you have encouraged me that there is hope to heal the whole me, not just to simply make my body smaller until the old patterns attack again.

This is only my second week but on Saturday we went out for a meal, BBQ Ribs, within my calories. And I should have been so happy but honestly I wasn't satisfied. Found my tastes have changed quite quickly and big plate of well seasoned veggies and maybe chicken or tofu feels much more satisfying than a tiny place of bbq food now! :) I am 3.8Lbs down from last week and I was aiming for 2.9! So happy! and it's given me an extra boost to keep going, I have evn started to enjoy the me-time I get on my walks (even if I feel like I spend most of the time thinking about cleaning and household chores! hehe!), I feel like this is the one. It is gonna stick! Consitency is key

I am in Canada so body slims isn't something I'll be doing. but I really needed the reminders of how the weight loss calorie deficit portion is temporary and that cravings are just a feeling they don't control me. I had been doing SO well since February but this last month I've really fallen off and been giving in to sugar cravings. I love your videos Carla and you have been extremely inspiring 🌹Las month I re-started Keto once more and was able to lose 15lbs but I am now struggling and really thinking about how I can sustain being on Keto for the long run. Body Slims seems like the perfect option. I’m already doing IF and have as much weight to lose as you did at the beginning of your journey. Weight loss and wanting to change my body has been on my mind everyday since I was 13 (I didn't even get fat till my late twenties after having kids😞).... I'm so ready to be free of those constant lingering thoughts about needing to lose weight and being unsuccessful. I'm just confused on what happens during the maintenance phase. From what I understand, you have to continue eating in a deficit to maintain your new weight. If you go back to eating like before surely you would gain the weight back?
Hi! On my second round of BS’s. In maintenance (and life) we can not go back to eating like we were before that made us fat in the first place however, between rounds (and for life) I still & will walk one hour everyday as long as I’m physically able😊AND, I increased my calorie limit by about 300 calories per day between rounds plus 24hrs on weekends to enjoy but! Not sucking up the 24hr buffet😆 and I continued to lose a pound a week😉Now in the beginnings of Round two so back to below BS daily calorie limit for me😊There’s soooo much it does for us there just aren’t enough ways to describe how it will change you if you “Surrender to win!” If you really, really want to change, take a chance♥️

I love your videos and I love BodySlims, however, why do ppl keep saying that the calorie limit is “finite”? It’s not. You are told that the calorie limit is just for the weight loss period - but it’s ongoing. You are told that for maintenance that you can indulge a LITTLE in the weekends but then stick to your caloric allowance for the week or you will gain weight back. So for those asking - yes. Your caloric limit given to you by BS will be your ongoing “target” forever - unless you want to gain weight back. You will always have to watch what you eat and maintain your new way of eating or you will gain weight back.
@@deniseb4148 I agree the amount is unique to you depending on how you maintain the weight, but if you increase your calories on a consistent basis from what you have been doing, you will gain some weight back. Unless you increase your daily exercise or eat less on other days to balance out the days you do increase. There has to be balance is what I’m trying to say 😊
@nyvash4237, That's right, induging a bit on the weekends and doing the calorie deficit during the week was one option given. That would make it feel like the calorie deficit or target is forever, but I think it's important to remember the other option as well. The other option is to increase your calories until you find the amount where you maintain and don't lose or gain, and do that every day. In that case you will never be in a deficit ever again. The choice is yours. Splurge on weekends and diet or maintain daily. It seems to me that Carla does a bit of a mix. She doesn't count calories unless she gets out of her target weight range and then she cuts back until she is back in line. That sounds incredibly sane and doable to me. As you said, if you go back to eating the way you did before, you will gain the weight back.
Everything you said here is accurate and is my reality. My perosnal given calories from BodySlims are considerably lower than my day to day now in maintenance. X

I understand, but just to clarify it's not forever, it's in cycles of 10 weeks, so while it's €25 per week for those 10 weeks, you can choose to do another cycle or not x
Carla, I am a visual person and listening to seminars sounds daunting, how long are the seminars and is there a way we can do it in bite sizes, I lose focus listening easily and I am apprehensive as you are putting so much emphasis on them. Secondly, I am an asian and my meals are mostly asian, I am worried about the weighing and calorie counting for asian ingredients. Am I looking for an excuse to get out or are these valid worries
These sound like challenges but not obstacles. The first seminar is in 2 parts so that should help. Remember liking is optional, sometimes we have to do the things to get us to where we want to be. And while I’m not Asian, I use a lot of asian foods and I was able to weigh and measure everything to count the calories. Xx

Im signed up for September. Walking an hour a day is normal for me (4dogs), usually more than an hour. Im curious to see if that means that as there is no novelty, i will get the benefit of that component of the programme
Did you ever struggle with the mentality that you’re not meant to be thin? All my family are overweight and I’ve been overweight since I was 6-7. I’m now in my mid 30s and have tried so many times without success. I don’t know how to believe it’s possible anymore 😢. Also curious if you have more weight to lose once the 10w is over, are you advised to stay at maintenance until the next cycle or continue until with calorie deficit?
I have a question!! What time are the seminars? I'm here in the US and we are 5 hours behind you and I work Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights, 7pm to 7:30am.
I don't fully understand how weight loss is different from weight maintenance. Generally, isn't our goal weight based on the caloric intake we should be consuming per day?
For weight loss we must be in a calorie deficit, less calories than our bodies require for energy causes the weight loss. Once in desired weight range we need to experiment by gradually increasing our calories to find the sweet spot in maintaining our weight loss.

🌹 Day 3 for me today. Going to talk to my husband about joining bodyslims in January. For now I’m working on this journey by watching your videos, walking everyday (increasing time everyday), decreasing food intake, making better food choices, drinking so much water, and working on my mental health. I have started at nearly your same stats.
I was on a call with my mom this morning (she is about 30 lbs lighter than me) and she has all this expert advice on weight loss. So when you said you were an expert on weight loss at your heaviest, I laughed out loud. That’s true of both my mom and myself. I’ve caught myself giving advice to my mother-in-law who is about double my size. But as I said before, you have shown me that beacon of hope and I’m walking toward it!

I attend a weight loss clinic, and when I have brought up my concerns that my mental health needs help, it was waved off and I was told just to focus on counting calories and workout more regularly. This is only my second week but on Saturday we went out for a meal, BBQ Ribs, within my calories. And I should have been so happy but honestly I wasn't satisfied. Found my tastes have changed quite quickly and big plate of well seasoned veggies and maybe chicken or tofu feels much more satisfying than a tiny place of bbq food now! :) I am 3.8Lbs down from last week and I was aiming for 2.9! So happy! and it's given me an extra boost to keep going, I have evn started to enjoy the me-time I get on my walks (even if I feel like I spend most of the time thinking about cleaning and household chores! hehe!), I feel like this is the one. It is gonna stick! Consitency is key

I am in Canada so body slims isn't something I'll be doing. but I really needed the reminders of how the weight loss calorie deficit portion is temporary and that cravings are just a feeling they don't control me. I had been doing SO well since February but this last month I've really fallen off and been giving in to sugar cravings. I am really on the fence about signing up! I love your videos Carla and you have been extremely inspiring 🌹Las month I re-started Keto once more and was able to lose 15lbs but I am now struggling and really thinking about how I can sustain being on Keto for the long run. Body Slims seems like the perfect option. I’m already doing IF and have as much weight to lose as you did at the beginning of your journey. Weight loss and wanting to change my body has been on my mind everyday since I was 13 (I didn't even get fat till my late twenties after having kids😞).... I'm so ready to be free of those constant lingering thoughts about needing to lose weight and being unsuccessful. I'm just confused on what happens during the maintenance phase. From what I understand, you have to continue eating in a deficit to maintain your new weight. If you go back to eating like before surely you would gain the weight back?
Hi! On my second round of BS’s. In maintenance (and life) we can not go back to eating like we were before that made us fat in the first place however, between rounds (and for life) I still & will walk one hour everyday as long as I’m physically able😊AND, I increased my calorie limit by about 300 calories per day between rounds plus 24hrs on weekends to enjoy but! Not sucking up the 24hr buffet😆 and I continued to lose a pound a week😉Now in the beginnings of Round two so back to below BS daily calorie limit for me😊There’s soooo much it does for us there just aren’t enough ways to describe how it will change you if you “Surrender to win!” If you really, really want to change, take a chance♥️

Carla, I’ve been binge watching you all day today. I noticed during the meal prep videos I didn’t see any legumes. Do you find those an issue? I’m about to sign up for BS but I am a legumes girl so I’d need to wrap my head around not having them? Truly congratulations! I’ll be 60 this year & it’s been a life long struggle for me
I did have some but not tonnes. But once it’s within you Bs calories you’re all good. This has to work for you cx

I love your videos and I love BodySlims, however, why do ppl keep saying that the calorie limit is “finite”? It’s not. You are told that the calorie limit is just for the weight loss period - but it’s ongoing. You are told that for maintenance that you can indulge a LITTLE in the weekends but then stick to your caloric allowance for the week or you will gain weight back.
So for those asking - yes. Your caloric limit given to you by BS will be your ongoing “target” forever - unless you want to gain weight back. You will always have to watch what you eat and maintain your new way of eating or you will gain weight back.
Not so, the maintenance calories are higher. That amount is unique to you,
@@deniseb4148 I agree the amount is unique to you depending on how you maintain the weight, but if you increase your calories on a consistent basis from what you have been doing, you will gain some weight back. Unless you increase your daily exercise or eat less on other days to balance out the days you do increase. There has to be balance is what I’m trying to say 😊
@nyvash4237, That's right, induging a bit on the weekends and doing the calorie deficit during the week was one option given. That would make it feel like the calorie deficit or target is forever, but I think it's important to remember the other option as well. The other option is to increase your calories until you find the amount where you maintain and don't lose or gain, and do that every day. In that case you will never be in a deficit ever again. The choice is yours. Splurge on weekends and diet or maintain daily. It seems to me that Carla does a bit of a mix. She doesn't count calories unless she gets out of her target weight range and then she cuts back until she is back in line. That sounds incredibly sane and doable to me. As you said, if you go back to eating the way you did before, you will gain the weight back.
Everything you said here is accurate and is my reality. My perosnal given calories from BodySlims are considerably lower than my day to day now in maintenance. X

I understand, but just to clarify it's not forever, it's in cycles of 10 weeks, so while it's €25 per week for those 10 weeks, you can choose to do another cycle or not x
I am scheduled to start in April 2024 - my only question is will the information be available to me after the 10 weeks?
Carla, I am a visual person and listening to seminars sounds daunting, how long are the seminars and is there a way we can do it in bite sizes, I lose focus listening easily and I am apprehensive as you are putting so much emphasis on them. Secondly, I am an asian and my meals are mostly asian, I am worried about the weighing and calorie counting for asian ingredients. Am I looking for an excuse to get out or are these valid worries
These sound like challenges but not obstacles. The first seminar is in 2 parts so that should help. Remember liking is optional, sometimes we have to do the things to get us to where we want to be. And while I’m not Asian, I use a lot of asian foods and I was able to weigh and measure everything to count the calories. Xx

Losing weight is 80% what you eat and only 20% calories exercise. If you can do no exercise you can still have an amazing result 🖤🖤🖤

Did you ever struggle with the mentality that you’re not meant to be thin? All my family are overweight and I’ve been overweight since I was 6-7. I’m now in my mid 30s and have tried so many times without success. I don’t know how to believe it’s possible anymore 😢. Also curious if you have more weight to lose once the 10w is over, are you advised to stay at maintenance until the next cycle or continue until with calorie deficit?

I don't fully understand how weight loss is different from weight maintenance. Generally, isn't our goal weight based on the caloric intake we should be consuming per day?
For weight loss we must be in a calorie deficit, less calories than our bodies require for energy causes the weight loss. Once in desired weight range we need to experiment by gradually increasing our calories to find the sweet spot in maintaining our weight loss.
