I never told anyone about it... and for 6 or so months I couldn't sit on my butt all the way.. So Now I'm about to be 26 and I can't Do sit ups because it feels like my tailbone is stabbing me. Hey I wanted to say thank you for this video. It has helped me so much. I have been dealing with this pain for about 2 years. It felt like muscles around my tailbone were being crunched when I sat down. Doing this exercise while flexing out my glutes seemed to pull the muscles out to where they should be. After about a week of this my pain is nearly non existent. Thank you!

      Hi, was your coccyx misaligned or it was just the inflammatory? I have been dealing with this issue myself for almost a year now and it really frustrates me because I can't sit comfortably. Can you help me in this regard?

    • @jordanballou3865
      @jordanballou3865 3 года назад +10

      @@AnaM-gu5mv Hey Ana. My coccyx was and is misaligned. I go to a chiropractor who specializes in muscle activation once a month now. I do this exercise from this video alongside my monthly visit and it has helped to keep the issue down. My chiro has found that my coccyx tends to get pulled to the right and that messes everything up down there. He is able to push it back in place and for a couple weeks it's amazing but tends to start to move back before my next appointment. I think I will start making an appointment every 2 weeks to help the coccyx relearn and hold the correct position again.
      I'm so sorry you are suffering from this same thing. It has taken me a couple years to figure out the root of my issue. I am 90% better than I was a year ago though thanks to stretching and exercises my glutes, hip flexors, and lower back. I believe my issue came from a weakness somewhere in there. A year or so back I was unable to sit in any way because the pain was so bad. I am sitting now and only feel a barely minor annoyance in my tailbone. Forcing your muscles to activate again can be a long journey but if you keep exercising all the muscles I listed before and go to a chiropractor to have your coccyx aligned I believe you can get to a point where it no longer bothers you :) Also making sure to keep inflammatory foods out of your diet as much as possible will help I believe!

    Excellent presentation! Keep up the good work. I noticed the pain in my coccyx that started gradually, then became more noticeable. My desk chair is history, so in the meantime I've been using a hard courtroom type of chair. Have used cushions, pads, etc, (but no donuts!) The pain was also present when I got up from the chair. I feel lucky that I found your posting. The exercise works for me, even though I just started it. The pain is the result of sitting for long periods of time on this great-looking courtroom chair, however, I new real desk chair is on the way. The heel press feels great. I'm increasing the time everyday. I have spinal stenosis, and that may have a connection, but the heel press feels good, and does not interfere with other spinal issues. Thank you very much!

    I don't really feel anything in that area when I squeeze my heels together, but when I actually release the pressure there's a tremendous amount of pain in my coccyx area.

    Long term coccyx issues. Healed fracture c. 10 years ago. So stayed away from this exercise once you mentioned to avoid in case of a fracture. You’re very charismatic and a good communicator, also enjoyed your graphics touches.
    My feedback is this: those of us searching youtube for help need a certain kind of video, to make our search successful and not so time consuming. I would summarize this as follows;
    1. your title should not just be created to rope in the viewer. The title should describe what is essential for the viewer to know. I look at dozens of self help videos daily for a variety of Chronik issues, and those that have been helpful go on my various playlists. If yours had been titled „Tailbone pain? watch THIS to FIX your non-fractured coccyx!“, I wouldn’t have sat through your video, because it actually didnt apply to me. I even tried the exercise gently, and it was painful, despite my injury having been 10 years ago.
    2. Please condense your info. There was too much talking and not enough content here. Only 1 exercise, other than that I knew the remaining information already.
    3. Dont start from the beginning, what is a coccyx, how does it move, how can it get injured, etc. Us sufferers know that. You can make a separate video with
    general info on the tailbone. Then another, assuming your viewer is informed, and going directly into the exercises. You can blend in a diagram of the coccyx bone, sacrum, and attached structures midway through, as a reminder.
    4. Most people suffering w/tailbone pain-and there are many of us who’ve been suffering for years- will be familiar with a cat-cow, the sciatic stretch, etc. Please dont take up our time with lengthy explanations of these as if we‘ve never seen such stretches before. Of course, you can use them in your video, but please bring new and useful details and info to your audio which is useful to us „veterans“.
    Many thanks, will check back with you later!

    I am almost 2 months post op from a coccyectomy. In serious pain worse than before surgery. I thought years after the break was bad but it doesn't compare to this. My surgeon keeps saying I'm not healed..but every other person's "good coccyectomy removal" story is so short in terms of recovery time. Also am using a cane due to shakiness in my right leg. Have you ever heard anything like this?? I'm almost to the point I regret having surgery!

    How? Rollerskating/ rollerblading with no hip- butt skate pads. The butt pads do not show through mini skirts and shorts, unless I want them too. But while impatiently waiting for my orthopedic appointment, I am becoming a master at headstands on my inversion yoga chair and aireal yoga silk. It temporary takes pressure off the tailbone. My zero gravity chair made my tailbone hurt worse but helps either the Sciatica or pulled muscle in my left gluteous. Been wearing my skate butt pads all the time.
