    I knew that there often is hair within a pilonidal cyst but I didn’t know the medical term of pilonidal meant a nest of hairs. Thank you.

    • @antoineduchamp4931
      @antoineduchamp4931 2 года назад

      It is a combination of two Latin words, one for 'hair' and one for 'nest'

      Another guy that had it on here had to have surgery to cut out a large infected area of his butt they said the hair turns inwards becoming essentially a ingrown hair that keeps growing and growing and growing another person said it had grown into their disc and needed to have it removed and that the hair can even grow in further into your organs in worst case situations. So it doesn't just mean nest of hair it actually is a nest of hair and that's why it itches

    when sleeping, use a hard surface if you have forward bend coccyx. Then when seating, always use a custom coccyx cushion or 2"foam. Then try to walk 5minutes at least everyday but don't run. This will help to reduce the pain within 1 month.

    I was born with a pilonidal cyst that never bothered me until I fell off an office chair and landed right on it on one of the legs that stick off the chair. Thank goodness my boss made me file an accident report because about three month later it got terribly infected. I had to have surgery that nearly killed me as I had a bad reaction to the anesthesia. They had to take a lot of tissue, so I have a big dent in the area above my tailbone. But it’s been about 45 years since, and no further problems.

    I had crazy pain in my tailbone region and could barely stand, sit and walk. I went to an urgent care and I and the urgent care thought it was tailbone issue. They treated me for that and even recommended I do physical therapy. Then I noticed that it was a cyst after feeling my tailbone region and then went back to the urgent care. They were able to drain the cyst. They gave me antibiotics and after taking that and a hot bath, I feel almost 100% and can sit and walk easily now. I hope that I will be fine now and this won’t be a recurring issue that requires surgery because that sounds painful…

    What if you have both? Rather than the normal curve of the tailbone, an xray shows mine is in an L shape. I was recently having tailbone pain, which I am familiar with. In addition, I have a pilonidal cyst that I am treating at home and it spontaneously drained. Is it possible the two issues are related at all? I have had numerous pelvic surgeries and ongoing problems including to various pelvic organ prolapses. Is it possible to have an impaction forming in the sigmoid colon that is putting pressure on the tailbone, causing pain?

    Hey so for the past 2 days I have been feeling a pain in the the upper part of my butt and it seems to be a small or medium sized lump. It hurts very much to sit down, lay down, or bend over and the pain seemingly started out of the blue. I slipped on the stairs about a week and a half ago and it hurt pretty bad because I think I feel around the same area the pain and lump is in. I also do wrestling but I do have not been at practice for about 5 days but I don’t remember falling or injuring my my rear end or tailbone. I’m going to see a doctor soon about it but can someone please maybe tell me what it might be because I am a bit scared. Thanks

    I have a sacral dimple and an ultrasound came back saying I have a pilondial cyst. I have no sinus or anything pimple like at all. It’s deep, It’s just a dimple that red just looks like it’s red from being a crack. No itching. . He says it’s small but it feels like it’s pushing a bunch of things out of place. My x ray also says I show an old healed coccyx sacral fracture with mild difformité. I’ve had pain for 6 years (suddenly during 14 weeks of pregnancy) only now finding a pilondial cyst, but am being told this can not cause my sciatica, nerve issues, compression, sensations,
    The cyst is pretty much invisible and looks nothing like the pics I see of pilondial cysts.
    Only real symptom is a bit of redness and sacral dimple ? and the ultrasound.

    Hi Doctor,
    Thanks for differentiating the difference.
    I had a pilonidal surgery a long time back! (20 years ago)
    Other day, I must have accidentally infected it by trying to remove the hair with a blade...and ended up with red bumps on my butt...took some antibiotics and red bumps disappeared. However, now I am in a quandary as I have been itching on my fold for the 6 months...not sure...why???
    There is also pain on my left butt especially if i am sitting on the floor.
    My physician is at a lost!
    Googled the issue and found intertigo!!! Is this my problem??
    Please advise...Thanks
    Have been using zinc cream with cortisone cream to keep the itching at bay! but of no avail!

    Is it possible to have this type of cyst in the area where your hamstrings attach to your glutes? I have had pain with sitting for 12 years. Recently a massage therapist felt while going deep into the area under the buttocks a "cyst" which she was able to get rid of using a high intensity "thumper" I call it. It will go away but comes back. Could this be the same thing or similar?

I’m scheduled to see a specialist in a couple days but it sucks they’re not really sure what’s going on. This pain sucks.

    Thank you so much for your video. I had a pilonidal abscess about 10 years ago and had to have it surgically removed; not so fun. But it started hurting tonight again and I thought, hey maybe I’m lucky and it’s just coccyx pain. But sadly, from your video, it’s definitely not. ☹️
    So I guess I wondering, if someone actually has a cyst surgically removed is it less likely to recur than say if you just drained the cyst?

I have been seeing a Chiropractor twice a week for 6 weeks now. I am about to give up!!! Would a X-ray of my back from a side angle not be beneficial? To see if the Coccyx is bent forward or backwards? I am out of options besides a cortisone shot or surgery to remove the tip. I feel that’s extreme for not even having a diagnosis.

    Hello doctor, I believe I have pilondal cyst and it came from no where. Its been a week and from that time I thought it was tailbone pain and did some stuff they said to do online to help treat it. It didn't get any better so I went to my doctor and he told me the same thing I read online and to get a cushion for sitting which I did, I also take ibuprofen for the pain. I did see a small bump but I thought it was just swelling which I read could be a symptom of tailbone pain. Until today I noticed a yellowish, funky smelling, gooey substance on that area and immediately looked online on what it could be. I'm pretty sure its pilondial cyst and that it just popped, so I was wondering if there's anything I can do to keep it from getting infected and to go away. I read some homemade remedies and tried the one where you dillute apple cider vinegar and dip a cotton ball on it then apply it to the affected area. Is that good and will that help? My bump is not that big but I dont really know what to do. Please help.
    Thank you for your time

      tikaismeee e hi, I am going through the same thing as you. is this your first one? this is my third in 18 yrs, and they hurt soooo bad. I also am trying the apple cider vinegar along with baking soda to make a paste.did that work out for you? i heard a way to keep them from recurring is to constantly twice a day ,use the acne pads with salysilic acid, like OXy , and that helps keep the bacteria to stay away.also tea tree oul. I plan on buying all these things soon as i can get my money this week. these things are very very painful, and its better to do a few steps extra in our hygiene practice to keep our pilonidal cysts from recurring and keep them " asleep"

      I'm sorry to hear about your pain. Hopefully it has resolved by now, since it is two months since your comment was posted (I'm just now getting caught up on answering some of the comments on my RUclips videos). Certainly when you describe the "yellowish, funky smelling, gooey substance" that does indeed sound like it is worth having you get checked out medically to see if it is a pilonidal cyst. I recommend that you see your primary care physician or other health care provider. I'm not familiar with the homemade remedies (apple cider vinegar, etc.) that you describe, and there is the potential for a pilonidal cyst to become infected which can be very serious. It's worth seeking in-person medical attention.

    I had a blood pressure issue about a week ago or so, and I fell down because of it. I landed directedly on a "long leg" of a solid wood mirror's base. Directly on my coccyx and I BOUNCED. It was excruciating and still is giving me intense grief. In the last couple days, I've developed an unbearable (and unrelievable) itch right in there. The itching is quite maddening.
    Do you think the trauma from the fall caused this (possible) Pilonidal Cyst? I was shocked when my husband said there was a pimple developing alongside the redness. I take a bath every single day, busted coccyx or not. So I was upset, I keep clean.
    But now I see THIS video, and am wondering if the fall caused this cyst. Is that a possibility? Cheers.

    I think it's a nice video, I will consult my generalist in France for him to tell me what I have. I have some radios, but they are of hole vertebral columna, so I can't see well the part that gives me pain, and it's impossible to tell if it's damaged. And I'll see my ostheopath at the end of the month. Could also be a kyst. But I can't locate the pain. But it's seems upper left, not down. It has been long time I have back pains, but this one is the most painfull and the most long lasting, and never stop. I have mostly pain when I stay up. Not when I sit. Unless I sit where the pain is, aka on my back. Could be the coccys. I will have to look further then. But as a patient unless the doctor finds it, I don't think I can find it by myself.

    • @surilovit
      @surilovit 5 лет назад

      Giving an advice for those who don't work: hot water is good for both types of pain be kysts, or bones, so I'll go to the swimming pool without swimming. It's only illegal for those who work and who needs medical paper to proove disease :/. But those who study, who are retired, who do sports for leisure or who have other things to do in life, it's advised to go for hot water =) I also have an organic balm from sweeden for the muscles bought at nature shop, but any chemical balm under prescription is at your own risk, but I did get an appointment with a generalist, so she might give me a proper chemical balm. As for me I have pain everywhere I even forgot to talk about my knees :/ But today I am much more better compared to the last 2 weeks. =)

    • @surilovit
      @surilovit 5 лет назад

      Hello, I answer to myself again: not a kyst, not a bone fracture, not the nervs, not the muscles, perhaps some nodulus very small... I think they will never find out =) I don't know how is this bone tail in 3D. I know that undressed you see nothing. My words aren't proof so they must find it by themselves or leave it. You can't see it in profile neither front radio. If one day I have a child proof will go away =) I think there is very small chance I have 2 tails but it's inside, so it can't be seen, because there was a suspicion once but conclusion was radio wasn't mine. But this must be hard to see and to feel. But my words are nothing, if they see nothing. So let it be =) I don't like beeing alone. There is nothing on the radio because wrong point of view. So we will stay with the possible very small nodulus that technology won't be able to see. And I got my local gel balm to sweet down inflammation. =)
