We have spent months mastering the fine art (and navigating the headache-inducing frustrations) of Disney Genie Plus and we have come up with 27 little tidbits of knowledge will help make your next trip to Hollywood Studios, Magic Kingdom, EPCOT and/or Animal Kingdom your best trip ever (although we don't think you'll really even need the Genie for those last two...)
This is essentially our "Disney Genie Plus for Dummies" video - except it's way more fun than a "for Dummies" book and - most importantly - we don't think you're a dummy. The fact that you are figuring all this stuff out before your Disney World trip makes you pretty darned smart, actually!
Tips Included: How to get the best ride times and skip the lines at the best rides, how to save money with your Genie strategy, how to work around park-hopping glitches and other Genie gremlins and lots of tips to help you focus on the fun instead of the frustration!

This is like a steadicam for your phone. It keeps all your shots smooth and level, even while you are walking. Do not use on fast rides like roller coasters. Also note that this can convert to a selfie stick, but selfie sticks are not allowed in Disney Parks. This item is allowed because it is primarily a gimbal but you are not allowed to extend it.

@@skyeblue5669 Hello! Yes, most rides are accessible and you can also use a system called DAS (Disability Access Services) that allows you to bypass the normal line for many attractions. It works differently than Genie, but you can also choose to use it in addition to Genie. This video helped our family have such a great Disney vacation! The most helpful tip was the “slot machine”. While at Epcot (park hopper) I missed all Genie+ availability for Frozen and Remy. I just populated both as my desired rides and kept spinning the slot machine. Got both with about 10 minutes of effort. Same thing happened at Magic Kingdom. Got Jungle Cruise, Splash Mountain, Space Mountain - all mid day.
Without watching this video I would have just given up. Thanks again! Genie+ made our Disney World visit very easy, very fulfilling and very low stress.

Ive seen a lot of theme park channels over the years but this one has a lot of potential. You put a lot of patience and allotted time into this with the right information. I just used this strategy during the middle of July over 3 days as single vacationer. This worked 100% and I ended up riding every ride at every park I wanted to ride. It kept my mood relaxed and casual, rather than rushed. I ended up with one of the best vacations I’ve ever had. I appreciate the work you put in so we can enjoy Disney to its fullest!

Dear Rob, can't thank you enough for helping us having the greatest time at WDW Resort! It was our first time in Orlando. We visited all four theme parks and did absolutely everything we wanted to do thanks to Genie Plus (and how well we used it, thanks to you). We even had time to have luch at Tusker House in AK and Mama Melrose's in HW. We just arrived back in the UK after 2 weeks in Disney. We did alot of research (watching these videos) and are so glad we did. We did everything we wanted and more. This video was a GOD SEND. I had no idea how GeniePlus worked, and your one tip that YOU CAN'T PLAN saved me hours of frustration! We ended up using the 2 hour rule most of the time, because playing the Genie Slots traverses you across the parks a little more than we liked (32,000 steps at Epcot in one day was a little more than I wanted) :-) but your video still really helped. Your tip on everyone signing in to the same account worked great! Also, we learned our teenager actually liked playing the "slots" and he was usually the one who booked our rides.
All in all, this video helped make our visit a great trip, and helped me avoid frustration because I could not plan. If you like to plan, Genie+ might not be for you, but using these tips, we stood in line for less than 5 rides and only those with less than 30 minute waits. You make excellent videos, and do an amazing job keeping it fun and informative. We were hoping to see you in parks after watching all your videos you felt like an old friend 🙂.

Simply FANTASMIC!! Hands-down the best and most fun way to understand and use DG+. Thank you Rob and Eric for putting this together as it made navigating the parks on our recent trip as fun as possible. DG+ slots works and we scored LL when there were 'none' available. There were only a few times that we had to have time-fillers that were unplanned. All the other times we literally were going from ride-to-ride and getting on through LL with minimal wait. We do miss the previous iteration where we could book 90 (or was it 60?) days out before arriving on-property. But who knows if that feature will ever come back. Worst is that we have to use mobile devices instead of un-plugging.

This is hands-down the best tutorial for Genie+ we've seen; great tips, helpful phone view, and you've explained the entire system and how to work through the challenges...and have fun doing it! After watching this, we're training our 11 yr.-old granddaughter to be our back-up scheduler to use her tenacity to help with the strategies. Love your great people skills and clear love of all things Disney! Two questions please: 1. Are we correct in understanding that, although we do not purchase LL, we still enter that queue if we have snagged a Genie+ attraction? 2. Even if only two members of your party (out of four )snags a Genie+ selection, does that count for your one "allowed selection" at that moment vs. splitting that "allowed selection" for 2 of your party for another attraction. Sorry if that sounds confusing.... Thank you again!
Thanks so much for watching and supporting our channel! As for your questions, all attractions that offer the ability to bypass the regular line call them “Lightning Lanes.” The only difference is that a few Lightning Lanes have to be paid for individually and are not part of Genie Plus (currently these are 7 Dwarfs Mjne Train, Rise of the Resistance, Guardians of the Galaxy and Flight of Passage). For all the others, your Genie Plus charge of $15 per person per day covers access to all the Lightning Lanes you can book and no additional payment is required. As for splitting your party: let’s say everyone is able to book a Lightning Lane. If half of your group chooses to book Space Mountain and the other half wants to ride something else, they can book a different ride instead. Keep in mind that in order for everyone to ride the next ride together, they will all have to have used their Lightning Lane or waited two hours, so it is best to try to book different reservations with similar times to get everybody back together on the next ride. Hope that helps!

We were thinking you could possibly luck out and snag one of the popular LL attractions as a part of Genie+. Sounds like the only option other than paying for LL is to gut out the wait in the Standby Lanes for those LL offerings. Thanks also for the info and tips for splitting our party's different Genie+ selections--really good to know! Wow....it's studying for an exam to figure out the best way to handle Genie+ and LL to prepare for a DW trip....glad we have skilled tutors like you!

1) has Genie + always had unlimited rides per day? Or was it originally 3 rides per day.
2) do you think it made a difference that you were solo? Or put another way, do you think a family of 3 or 4 would have the same luck?
Thanks for watching! There has never been a limit on Genie Plus Lightning Lane reservations. Before Genie Plus, there was a system called FastPass+ that allowed you to start with 3 reservations, but you could also add rides one at a time with FastPass after you completed your first three. With FastPass, the reservations were tied to the number of people in your party, which definitely did make it harder for larger groups. Luckily for your group, Genie Plus is designed differently. If a reservation is available, it is available to all parties, whether they are one or ten. Hope that helps answer your questions and that you all have a great trip!

Definitely agree with screenshooting your reservations! The app randomly kicked me out of our group for the guardians virtual queue, but thankfully we had proof that I was originally in the virtual queue and they still let me on the ride. The app is awesome, but it does glitch sometimes
Ok so everything I’ve learned from that video:
1: wake up early at 6:45 to be ready to make the first Disney genie selection and only pick 2 rides to make it easier to find
2. Disney genie is like a slot machine game and we are spinning until we get something good- not necessarily getting what we may want to ride at that exact moment, just what’s available next
3. When you make the selections only choose 3-4 rides you want to go on to make it easier to see all choices.
4. Prioritize popular rides first!
5. Use the same device because it drains battery
6. Keep refreshing until you find something closer to your times.
This is the first video about Disney genie plus i understood! Can’t wait to try these out when i go in September!!!
Yup. The most important is refreshing and having patience. Sometimes ten minutes of patience which feels a lot longer than that in the moment. 😂 Also, I would note that you should use the same device just because it is easier and simpler, but bring a charger because it definitely will drain the battery. You are my hero, had never been to Disney World and I watched these videos and we barely had a wait, my girlfriend is disabled so we were able to have TWO things in reserve at a time. The only downside was that Rise Of The Resistance broke right as we were about to get on it. This sort of thing would ever have happened if Darth Vader was still in charge

This channel was Soooo helpful to our family for how to visit Disney world for the first time. We learned so much about how the genie+, lightening lane, virtual Queue all works. We were used to the old fast pass system, but this really helped a lot to know the differences. We only found and watched the night before our first Disney day. Your thing of ‘spinning the reels’ is what I used to do when it was still FastPass+. I feel like people didn’t realise you could get more fast passes after your initial three reservations, but I used to just check my phone, ‘spin the reels’ and go jump on whatever ride had a FastPass available at that time. And you weren’t limited to just one pass for each ride in those days, so I would get multiple rides on everything. This is still a good system if you know how to play it but I miss FastPass+…

This video is A1! Used this video as a guide for genie plus. Crushed it! got Lighting Lane for 5 rides in one day, for the fam. even though after my 4th ride it said we didn't "qualify" i think the word they used, for any more rides. I refreshed and it let me book a 5th!! bought all the food through app. saved some valuable time there also. Heads up. if you buy Genie plus at midnight, be careful, cause it on the main app it shows it like you have not bought it and asks you if you want to buy again. once it hits 7am its when you could start booking rides.

Hello! So glad to hear you found this video helpful. The key is patience. Just like a real slot machine, you won't win every time and it can take some time to hit the jackpots. Unlike a real slot machine, though, you pretty much always will win eventually if you have patience. If you are't having any luck getting the time to budge on a particular ride, try playing for a different one and come back to the stubborn one a bit later in the day. I wanted to give huge shout out to Ear Scouts! We watched all these videos your wrote on Genie Plus. It was great advice. We used app as in instructed played tge "spinner app" and as soon as we got into a ride we spin again , there was 5 of us and like every 35 min we had great rides. I was incharge of spinning one phone one app then selected all of us.
Your advice was priceless.
Note it poured rain hard, but was only more fun since indoor rides still going with like no wait, got ponchos

Just came back here to thank you once more for this video! It helped me SO much on my trip. Thinking of it as a slot machine helped me keep it fun and not get too frustrated! Getting up early was the hardest part. Third week in may so it was not the busiest time. Curious how summer will go! Nothing worse than then having a ride pop up and you click on it only lose to someone else!

This is a gem of a video. Yes you are good at your vlog style content but when you do videos like this with the whole secrets tips and tricks you are the best I have seen.

Your tips where EVERYTHING!!! We are from Argentina, so Disney is a very long trip for us and we have to make the most out of it and thanks to you we managed to ride everything ☺️. The crowds were huge but we played those genie slots and it worked like a charm, thank you so much! About Guardians of the galaxy, we were stressing because our return time was overlapping with our lunch reservation, but the CM at the entrance told us that we could ride it anytime during the day (even if it says it’s expired) so we did it a few hours later and had no issues at all. We are annual pass + DVC ... but have not yet been excited about our upcoming trip. Our November trip experience with and without genie+ was frustrating and left us questioning whether to sell our DVC contacts. Your **excellent, easy, and positive outlook** in comparing this to a slot machine game has given us hope that we may experience more than just a few rides a day. We sorely miss the precision use of the fast pass system. As Mom I really miss helping those in the park that hasn't booked fastpass. Things are so unnecessarily complex, I no longer have those magical connections helping other families. At least, with your excellent instruction (are you a teacher) had set us up for fun in the sun instead of horrid in humidity!!! Thank you!!

There is no question that FastPass was better in almost every way, but you can learn to work some magic with the genie. It’s just a lot more complicated than it needs to be. Hopefully Disney will make some refinements to improve/simplify things in the future, but until then I hope these tips will help you have a great trip. 😃

How funny! Our LL reservation for Big Thunder Mountain was also “changed” due to technical difficulties. I had no idea how to redeem the “bonus” pass they give you and was getting frustrated when I couldn’t figure out how to redeem it online. I asked a cast member and felt like an idiot when they said, “friend, just walk up and scan. No need to reserve it/book online” 😂😂😂

On my first day of vacation, we are going to Magic Kingdom as a 4. I then intend on hopping to Epcot for the evening as a 1, do I'll be doing Genie+ as a 1 single for Epcot. Can I start stacking lightning lanes from from 7am so long as the LL time is after 2 pm?
Yes - you can stack as soon as you are able to find return times after 2pm, but I would not recommend booking for your second park at 7am. Grab something you can tap into right away at your first park and then book for park two once you tap in. I’d suggest alternating parks with the rest of your Lightning Lanes until you book the big 3 for Epcot (Remy, Frozen, Test Track). After those, just book for MK. The rest will be easy to grab once you’re in Epcot. Hope you have a great trip!
@Ear Scouts Thanks. I asked Disney via the app, and they said I could only book for epcot once I arrived at epcot. I thought this had to be incorrect because in 1 of your videos, you book HS attractions while you are at AK.

Thanks to you I was able to bring my family to Magic Kingdom for the 1st time with minimal stress on my part; by the time the fireworks started we were all in tears of pure joy! by far our best trip EVER! Very nice video! I will have to watch it again. If you have already seen the Enchantment show or are going back to MK, I would highly recommend riding Big Thunder during the fireworks. It was pretty awesome watching the fireworks go off as you came out of the tunnels and crested over the hills on the ride.
Yes! We love Big Thunder during the fireworks. We don’t usually talk about it in the videos because most people visiting WDW watch the fireworks, but you are 100% right. If you’ve had your fill of Enchantment, Big Thunder is the best during fireworks. We actually tried lots of rides to see if we could find one we liked better and Big Thunder wins every time.

I used Genie+ at DHS and Epcot in 2 days, they both worked out very well for us! We were resort guests so we had the benefit of buying Rise of The Resistance at 7am.
That's great to hear. Did you feel like you needed it in Epcot, or was it more of a "nice to have"? We feel like it is very necessary if you're trying to do most things at Hollywood Studios in one day, but we pretty much never spring for it in Epcot. Glad to hear you had a successful (and hopefully very fun) couple of days!

Great video! Another note about that “free” ride closure lightning lane is that you can hold on to it and use it when that ride reopens too! Ride closures don’t always last very long so you could end up still riding it within the hour.
