    I'm headed to the parks next week for the first time with my daughters. I've been watching so many videos and I can't believe how much more helpful this one was. I don't care about any "challenges", I just want some helpful advice on what time to show up, where to start, how long that will take, what to expect. Half the videos have given me anxiety that I'll make the wrong choices and ruin the day. Your easy to understand explanations and calm demeanor make rope drop and early entry feel approachable and doable.

      @Amy_V 2 года назад +5

      I feel the same way! This was so useful. Challenges are fun if you go every day but most people only go a few times or once in a lifetime. I appreciate actual comparisons because I want to make the most of the day in the least stressful way possible. Plus there are always a few different strategies to start the day in every park and it’s hard to choose lol.

      It’s true! I love that Rob shows what to do if things don’t pan out the way you envision because the reality is that it’s the norm. And it’s so hard to know what to do on the spot-there are so many decisions to make as it is.

    What I appreciate most about ear scouts, in addition to the videos, is the positive attitude towards waiting in line, playing the slots, and handling unexpected changes by adjusting strategies. It is so easy to get frustrated by just looking at the lines and how many people there are in the park! With your advice, we adjusted our mentality and had fun !

    Thanks for the videos! We had only one day planned for Hollywood Studios and because of your videos we got it all done and more on a Saturday. We did get lucky to have walk on rides that allowed us to do things twice.
    We Rope Dropped & Genie+
    1. Rise of the Resistance (30 minute Wait)
    2. Smuggler’s Run (walk on)
    3. Mickey and Minnie (walk on)
    4. Tower of Terror (walk on)
    5. Slinky Dog Dash (Genie+)
    6. Toy Story Mania (Genie+)
    7. Alien Swirling Saucers (Genie+)
    * lunch & few hour break
    8. Tower of Terror (Genie+)
    * dinner reservation
    9. Mickey and Minnie (Genie+)
    10. Smuggler’s Run (Genie+)
    11. Toy Story Mania (walk on)
    12. Muppets 3D (walk on)
    13. Star Tours (walk on)
    Finished with Fantasmic and a surprise at the end when they handed out some free popcorn.
    We took the break during the day for 3-4 hours, so definitely could’ve done more, but as I said, we did get lucky for on a non-busy weekend.

    Just got back from Hollywood Studios last Friday. We did early entry and rope dropped Rise. Then had an 8:30 LL for Millenium Falcon. We were already in line for Star tours by 8:45 when the park's official open time was 8:30. It worked out great to knock out all the Star Wars rides before many people even made it in the park.

    Soooo happy I discovered your channel!! Planning a trip for my daughters 1st birthday in Jan 2023 - we live in Hawaii so this will be our first-time ever going to Disney World. Your channel is the BEST at breaking down everything at Disney World. Honestly, your videos are the MOST informative ones I've EVER come across without it being "too much to digest" and you have such a soothing personality to watch and your videos are so easy to follow. I can't thank you enough!! It would be great to learn more about rider/child switch and how we would use that with Genie+. I can't find any videos that breaks this down, especially with all the recent changes with everything.

    Hi Rob, my family and I just got back from Disney and I have to say a big thank you for all your advice. It worked perfectly. We were a bit surprised that it wasn't as crowded as expected. The change to reserving LL at 7:00am (not being able to "Plan your day"), I found a workaround. If you go scroll through your list and select the ride you want, and then go back to the list, every time you refresh the page, it will automatically scroll to that ride. We managed to get every ride we wanted, and had a free LL because of rain at Animal Kingdom closing Expedition Everest. So we used that on Navi River. All the best to all at Ear Scouts. - Harry

      We thank Rob/Ear Scouts. Your videos were our guide during our visit to MK, EPCOT, HS and AK. Thanks to them, we aced rope drops, Lightning Lanes and Guardian of the Galaxy Virtual Queue! Only thing we discovered (and you may be already aware) is that if you get the 7 am Virtual Queue of Guardians, you become ineligible for the 1 pm (we tried and were at EPCOT). You’re the best! Happy Thoughts!

      Don't mind at all. I hope you also have a wonderful day.
      For Early Entry:
      1. Rope Drop Rise of the Resistance
      2. Mickey and Minnie's
      3. Rock 'n' Roller
      We were lucky because we were in and out Rise even before official rope drop. We used Lighting+ to book Slinky . Just in case we also bought an individual lane for Rise.
      After 12pm we took it very slow, doing other stuff, but we even got to ride several rides twice such as Rock 'n' Roller, Mickey and Minnie's.
      Good luck!

Have you made a video with no early entry for Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom? If not, what time should folks be at the arrival gate especially if they plan to park hop? Do you have any tips on what to avoid upon entry?

    • @EarScouts
      @EarScouts  2 года назад +1

      Hi Janine! We really should do a series of videos about rope dropping the parks without early entry because it is a different strategy a lot of the times. Thanks for the suggestion! 😃 As far as what to avoid, I would say to avoid rides that are the most popular during early entry if they still have long waits - especially if there are some good rides with little to no wait that you can do instead. Keep in mind that not every area and/or ride opens for early entry, so those can be good first rides at regular park opening time. Hope that helps!

    Hi, Rob! I so appreciate your research, time stamps, graphics, key details you point out and of course, this video! Would you consider doing this for 2024 but with you doing one option and Erick doing the other in the same day? I’m curious how it would be on the same day like the way you did it did Animal Kingdom recently. Also, for rope drop, do you ever cut through Toy Story Land for Rise, or do you always veer left into the park to go to Rise? I have friends going and have sent them all your videos! And yes, I’ve watched Sliding Doors and always make a lot of references to that movie as well!

      We did this at rope drop with our 4 year old and extended family last week. We rode Runaway Railway twice, only waiting a few minutes, then those who wanted to ride ToT and Rollercoaster rode those immediately after. Both had less than a 10 minute wait. We bought Rise and booked Slinky as our first LL of the day. We ended up riding everything at least once and saw most of the shows. Worked out great!

    • @EarScouts
      @EarScouts  2 года назад

      In that scenario, I’d probably knock out Sunset Blvd first. You could likely do Tower and Rock n Roller Coaster before the park opened and then head to your Slinky reservation. Or you could start with Smugglers Run and then hit Toy Story Mania so you’re all set for Slinky right when the park opens.

      Hi Adrienne! Unfortunately, I don’t have a lot of experience with Rider Switch, but it is my understanding that you will just ask the cast member at the entrance to the queue and they will let you know the process for that attraction (not all rides have the same process due to differences in queues). If you are using Genie Plus, everyone who uses Rider Switch has to also have Genie Plus. I wish I had more info to share, but I’ve never used it personally and am just sharing what I have heard from others and what I have seen in the parks when others use it. Good luck and thanks for watching! 😃

      You can go toward Star Tours and then cut through the tunnel that is by Grand Avenue (the Muppets area) or you can go toward Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway and then cut toward Sci-Fi Dine-In, which puts you at Grand Avenue from the other direction. I’m not sure that either way is faster, they seem to be about the same to me. I would not recommend going through Toy Story Land, that would be a much longer route from the main entrance.

    • @EarScouts
      @EarScouts  Год назад +1

      Hi Francis! You certainly can, just know that it will likely be a bit of a wait. Probably not as bad as the middle of the day, but also not like we show in these videos. For me, I’d rather do the wait than pay for the Individual Attraction Lightning Lanes, though. I’d say try it on your first day and then you’ll have a good idea whether it is worth springing for the Individual Attraction Lightning Lane on your other days. Another option is to do the ride just before park close. That way you are not using park time to wait in the line and the wait times are usually a bit inflated at the end of the night. Rise is a risk, though, because it goes down A LOT. The others are pretty reliably available at the end of the night. Good luck!
