- If you're staying at a qualifying resort hotel, you can actually enter the parks at Walt Disney World 30 minutes before they officially open to the public. This can be a huge advantage when it comes to riding the most popular rides in each park, but you'll need to be at the park even earlier if you want to have the shortest wait on rides like Slinky Dog Dash and Rise of the Resistance.
We're updating our Hollywood Studios video for 2024 and including the latest info about transportation including when you should line up for the bus or Skyliner at your resort. Plus, we'll share our best tips for maximizing these 30 precious minutes in the park. This is the first in a series - we'll be updating all of our Early Entry videos for 2024 - so if you haven't already, be sure to subscribe to our channel and ring that bell so you'll be notified when the other new videos in the series come out!
One of my favourite parts of getting ready for a WDW trip is watching your videos. True story. You’re a bright light, Rob. A real one. Keep shining. And thanks for everything.
Aww - thanks so much for this lovely comment. You made my day. 😊
Rob i just want to say i appreciate you so much, I went to Disney World with my spouse NEW YEARS DAY and used your tips for Genie and we were able to get on all of the major rides plus some of the kiddy rides from opening to 1pm!! If anyone is skeptical please do not be!! I’ve been going to disney for years and used many different video guides and he just comes out on top!!
Saw you at Epcot in Morocco! You were so kind to me! You had a cast-member star struck! Love your videos!
Hi Benjamin - it was lovely to meet you! 😃
Was just here last week, and wanted to thank Ear Scouts for their help! Our trip was a huge success thanks to just knowing a bit of what to expect ahead of time! Was fun to watch this video and compare to our early entry at Hollywood Studios just last Saturday. Hustled to Rise “rope dropped” onto the Star destroyer, then did Millenium Falcon, enjoyed some breakfast and then had a 9:20a slinky dog dash. Was a magical start to the day!
That sounds like a fantastic morning! Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to let us know how your trip went - we really appreciate it. 😃
I saw and spoke to you at the skyliner that morning! Love your videos and thanks for the button. I wore it all day.
Thanks for saying hello - it was lovely to meet you! Hope you had a great day at Hollywood Studios. 😃
Its apparent they could make a lot of money by making Slinky Dog dash a paid lightening lane. It’s still super popular and those wait times are to Infinity and Beyond!
Hi Elaine! I sure hope they don’t, though. 😂 It’s one of my favorite rides and I love that it comes with Genie Plus. Thanks for watching! 😃
@@EarScoutsI know 😢 it’s just so hard to get the genie for it … the ILL makes sense .
I love all your videos so much! Thanks for the detailed info and images of what it actually looks like (lines, signs, etc) as well as time stamps. For many people, a trip to wdw is a once in a lifetime experience and it’s immeasurably helpful to have as much info beforehand. You provide information that is hard to obtain otherwise.
Thanks, Julie! Our goal is always to be as helpful as possible to folks who are coming to our favorite place for the very first time. We want them to love it as much as we do, so your comment means a lot to us. We’re so glad you’ve found them helpful. 😃
I LOVE YOU ROB ❤ My last visit to Disney World was on May 2024 following all of your tips and tricks including the late Genie+ system hacks and was a complete success, honestly stress free. I’ll be going again at the end of January so here I am, once again, ready to learn from the best. I’m so grateful for you!!! Keep it up. Love from Chile 🇨🇱
Thank you for this video! I love seeing a mix of videos with genie + and without (like today’s early entry). I also love that even though the day wasn’t perfect (with rise being down) you still showed us how it went, what to expect, and some strategies to try. This is my favorite RUclips channel. Thanks for all you do!
Thanks so much, Heather. I always want everything to go perfectly, but I think you’re right - sometimes it helps to see how to adapt when it’s less than perfect. Thanks for watching and sharing this lovely comment. 😃
32 days out! We had already planned to rope drop HS on our first park day, so this is a timely video for us (as always!) Thanks Rob and Erick for another great video!
Woo-hoo! 🥳 It’ll be here before you know it. It was great seeing you at the Jamboree. 😃 Thanks for supporting what we do here at Ear Scouts!
Hi Rob.. I just want to Thank you for all your great tips in your videos!.. We've just returned from an 8-day trip to WDW visiting the 4 parks, we stayed at a Disney Resort, so it was the first time we used the Early Entry and that's definitely a game changer!.. by about 2 PM we were experienced most of the rides 😅, giving us enough time to revisit some, see the stores and relax during the afternoon.. Thanks for the great content!. Keep it up! 👍
Greetings from México
Thank you for your wealth of knowledge, We have used your tips for Hollywood Studios in all of 2023 and it worked every time, Thank you again !!!
Thanks so much, Captain! I’m glad to hear the videos have been helpful. 😃
I was there when you filmed this. I said hello to to in the slinky dog line. I was extremely lucky and was walking by Rise when they finally opened in the afternoon. It was a walk on for me
Nice! I was wondering what time it eventually opened up. We had already gone back to the hotel.
Another excellent video from Rob and Erick!! Even though we have no plans to visit WDW this year, I still watch your videos. They are entertaining to watch and always put a smile on my face.
I just found your channel through a search on RUclips, and I'm so glad I did! I find you so reassuring and enjoyable to watch - thank you for helping plan our upcoming trip!
I watched all your rope drop videos. You’re awesome! Thanks for all the tips!
You seemed to know as you were tapping in at the front gate that Rise had a delayed opening. But later in the video you said Smugglers Run had a longer than normal wait because lots of people went to Rise, found out it was closed, then went to SR. How did you find out at the front gate that Rise was delayed?
Always look forward to you videos. As I always say, these videos are a master’s class on how to do Disney. Excellent as always!
Thanks so much, Giovanni. And thanks for joining our Patreon family and helping to make these videos possible! 😃
Least I could do, big fan!
Dang it! I wish my trip was in a month and not tomorrow!! I need these videos. I’ve been watching your old early entry videos and trying to modify them myself but I’m thankful to have at least Hollywood studios.
Hi Christina! The good news is that not a lot has changed since last year. You’ll need to add TRON into the mix over at MK, but since that one is a virtual queue, it’s not something you likely have to think about for Early Entry. Thanks for watching - we hope you have an amazing visit to WDW! 😃
@@EarScouts thank you, Rob!! 🤩 -- I’ll be back in December and will be ready to use all your new videos in 2024!
We were just there a couple weeks ago and I'm still riding the Disney high from our trip! We did a very similar early entry strategy (per your video from last year), getting to the front of the line for Slinky, followed by Runaway Railway, and then Toy Story Mania - all with basically no wait, even on a crazy busy weekend. We then used Genie+ for Tower of Terror and an ILL for Rise before park hopping to Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom for an incredible day! We also used your tips later in the week to secure boarding groups for Guardians. Can't thank you enough!
Wow - that sounds like an epic day! Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to let us know how your trip went - we really appreciate it!
I love early entry ! In my first disney trip last november I ropedropped Hollywood studios with early entry. Quite literally. We were first in line to enter the park and were following the cast member at the queue of rise of the resistance. Saved the lightning lane (and we were able to do Millenium falcon and Rock and roller coaster. By the way, without your tips on the Genie+ we would not have been able to enjoy our small trip that much ! Love your content
Now THAT’S the way to do early entry. 🙌 Glad to hear our videos were helpful for your trip - thanks for watching! 😃
Awesome, thank you so mcuh for this update, arriving Sunday at the greatest place on Earth for a week.
Woo-hoo! 🥳 Hope you have an amazing vacation. We might see you at Flower and Garden while you’re here - we’ll be there a lot covering all the new food. Thanks for watching! 😃
I just came back and your videos are making me want to go again and try new strategies. Definitely, my next trip to Disney will be a solo trip
Your videos always make me smile. Thanks for making getting ready in the morning more enjoyable. It was fun seeing Erick and you on Mickeys Runaway Railway. 🥰
Hi ChrisAnn - thanks for starting your day with our video. So glad you enjoyed it! 😃
Another really helpful video.
I will definitely try this strategy this upcoming trip. Thank you! 😊
Hope you have a great Hollywood Studios day! 😃
Can not wait, will be there all next week! Hopefully early entry will be a little better. Always get stuck behind a group having issues at the gate and they won't let us by so we can take advantage of early entry.
I LOVE your Videos! it helps so much Planung our once in a lifetime Trip. And i can clearly see the love to Disney in your eyes. thank you
I did my first rope drop this week at HS. Both slinky dog and RoR were temporarily closed. 😞 I think Rob said it best that you need to be flexible. In the end we did all the rides we wanted. You just need to pivot. Also they didn’t make any an announcement. We just learned when we got to the rides.
I love your videos, thanks for making these amazing videos. Wouldn’t be able to plan my Disney day as efficiently.
Awesome info about the single line, thank you 👍
Thanks for the information. It is very demotivating so many lines and strategies to enjoy a day at Disney
These videos are invaluable! With the ever changing "landscape", you have to really know how to navigate in order to get the most out of your Disney adventures.
Hello! Even folks who go to the parks all the time (like us) have a hard time keeping up with all the changes. 😅 Glad you’ve found the videos helpful and thanks for watching!
Great advice! I only wish I could get myself up that early 😅
It’s so hard - especially when you’re on vacation. There’s not much that gets me out of bed that early, but Disney World is on the short list. 😃
@@EarScouts so true! Lately I've been more of a nighttime person at WDW. The only thing for sure is that I am no longer a "rope drop to park close and then some" kind of guy 😂
Good morning Rob! Thanks again for a great vlog.
Hi Tracy! Thank YOU for starting your day with our video - we really appreciate it. 😃
Another amazing video Rob!! This is going to be pretty much the exact strategy I'll be following in April because I'll also be staying at CBR! Last time I was at HS for early entry in December, I rope dropped Rock n Roller Coaster and then did Tower right after and then Minnie and Mickeys right after with pretty much no wait for any of them. It was epic! This time i think i'm going to start with Rise (if it's up and running at early entry LOL!) If it's not, i'll switch gears and go for slinky like you did!
Rise is fun because you get to experience part of the attraction before early entry even begins. Of course, that’s assuming it’s up and running. 😅 Hope you have a great time however you end up spending your early entry time - thanks for watching!
I love watching all of your videos, they are so helpful and fun! May I ask, what are you using to record the videos, that you can, on the ride? Love to capture the squeals and giggles on the rides with my family if I could.
Another fine video Rob. Sadly I'm just too lazy these days to get up early enough for early entry. 😀 One more little tip when going through security. If you're an old southern boy like me, odds are you'll have your pocket knife with you. If so, save the security folks a conniption fit. Leave the knife in the motel room safe, or lock it up in your car. Things will go much easier when you entry. Ask me how I know. LOL
Hi Jim! Yup - that’s definitely a good one to remember. No knives, weapons or selfie sticks allowed. You can use a gimbal, however, which is what I use to film my videos. Thanks for watching! 😃
I am staying at the carabean hotel can you please tell me what time I would have to get up for early entry?
Your videos are seriously making me want to price out flights from Canada back to WDW instead of paying my property taxes. Being a Disney adult is hard, LOL. Another great video as always!
Hi Michael! I can relate to that. 😂 Probably best to avoid any tax penalties, but it never hurts to start planning the next trip way in advance. 😁
Great job and Thanks so much for Cc in spanish, Tienes los mejores tips 👏🏻👏🏻
Hola Miangusa! Muchas gracias a ti por ver nuestros vídeos, de verdad que lo apreciamos mucho! Esperemos que poco a poco podamos ir agregando los subtítulos al resto de ellos!
How did you know Rise was going to be delayed opening, was it published on the app?
As usual, you made me smile, Rob.
Aww - this comment made me smile, too. Thanks for watching! 😃
We like Yacht Club for an early entry hotel since our dog travels with us. Take the boat over, it's a great ride in.
Rob, could you consider telling us what ears you are wearing in each video? I usually try to figure that out by looking in the online store, but only the newest are listed.
Hi Jackie! I can try to remember to start adding that to the descriptions of the videos. These are the new Baymax ears. They are currently sold in the parks, but I don’t see them on DisneyStore.com - thanks for watching! 😃
I love your videos so much! How did you know rise was down??
Hello! Thanks so much for the sweet comment. They’ll usually announce if Rise or Slinky Dog is down before they start letting folks into the park since they know lots of people would otherwise head there first.
Great video as always. 👍🖖
Love your tower of terror trivia - great video :)
Thanks so much, Jessica! 😀
I think we were there that morning. Rise and ToT both down at early entry. Kind of messed up the morning for us, we got walked off ToT but the day went ok later on.
Yup - Tower of Terror opened late. Sorry to hear you had a messed up morning, but glad to hear you got the day back on track. 😃
Happy birthday Rob! You don't look a day over 11!
Thanks, Jackie! I’m nearly a teenager! Hope you enjoy your Leap Day. 🐸
Enjoy your videos!!!!
Thanks for watching! 😃
Newbie here! Love your videos. Curious - are those people in line rope-dropping for slinky dog because they dont have Genie+ or is that the line with Genie+...thank you!!!
Hi Nicole! Welcome to the channel - thanks for checking this video out. There’s no Genie during Early Entry - your first bookable time will be at regular park open. Those folks are there for early entry. The Genie line would not be that long - especially in the morning. Thanks for watching! 😃
Hi!! Does tower typically not open during early entry?
Last time I was in HS Rise opened at 6 pm😮😮 I was in the pool and got to the park to do it!. When I arrived there the line was 180 min. But I had bought an ILL
Yikes. Glad you were able to ride, though! Thanks for watching! 😃
Thanks for sharing! How do you know or find out if an attraction is operating or not for early entry? Will they make an announcement? Or is this available in the My Disney Experience app?
Any chance in the somewhat near future you could do a park hop from Animal Kingdom to Magic Kingdom? Love the videos!
Good tip on the beach resort. I'll stay there next time. :) Any update on the "what to do outside of the rides" video?
Hi Brian! We realized pretty quickly that we needed to do a lot of stuff before we could make that video properly. We’ll be circling back to it soon and will likely do one for each of the parks. Thanks for supporting our channel - we really appreciate it! 😃
Can I use rider swap during early entry hours??? I’m not sure because the lightning lanes will not be open yet?
Rob, love your videos. How do you know Rise was down even before you enter the park? Does it show on the app or did a CM told you?
The cast members let us know. They typically announce to everyone if Rise or Slinky is down since so many people head there first. Thanks for watching! 😃
Rob, do you have some suggestions on renting dvc points? I know of David’s dvc but there is also dvc rentals. We would love to stay at the Grand Floridian in a resort studio room!
The DVC Rental Store allows you list the resort/room type and dates. Then this request goes to DVC members who will book it for you.
Hi Rob, can you do strategy’s with genie plus please
Hello! We are gearing up to remake all of the Genie videos for 2024. I’ve been holding off to see if they implement the changes they had hinted at (ability to pre-book Lightning Lanes), but at this point, I think we need to just go ahead and start making them. Thanks for the suggestion! 👍
How long was the wait till you got on slinky dog? That line was crazy
We were pretty close to the front of the line. We waited about 6 minutes after they opened the queue up. Thanks for watching! 😃
Would it also have been a good strategy to finish off the other two rides in Toy Story Land after getting off of Slinky, and then proceeding into the rest of the park? Or is it all really just wait time dependent?
Sure - it really just depends on what your goals are. If you want to eliminate as much line-waiting as possible, you’d want to prioritize the rides that will have the longest waits at later times in the day. If you’d prefer to reduce the amount of crisscrossing the park and balance that with wait times, then you’d hit your biggest attraction first and follow up with the biggest attractions nearby. In this case, I’d do Mania next and then Swirling Saucers.
Can you mobile order coffee like Starbucks? At Disneyland I always mobile order so I have it ready on my walk over.
How did you know that Rise was on a delayed open that morning? Thanks in advance!
Hello! The Cast Members made an announcement while we were waiting to enter the park. They typically do that if Rise and/or Slinky is opening late. Thanks for watching! 😃
A little late to the comments so hopefully someone sees this. How were you able to know Rise was down to start the day? I saw your 2024 MK early entry video and it seemed like Eric wasn’t aware Peter Pan was down until arriving at it, but somehow you knew about Rise. Is it a cast member luckily informing people? Something else?
A Cast Member made an announcement. That happens at Hollywood Studios when they know Rise is down (we’ve experienced it multiple times and they announced it). Magic Kingdom doesn’t always do that because people are too spread out and it isn’t really practical to make an announcement. At HS, everyone is grouped together at the entrance for early entry.
Thank you!
Just curious what are your thoughts on rumors going around possibly like really big rumor of a 5th theme park?
The last act of the Reedy Creek administrators was to hastily approve a 5th gate along with two smaller parks similar in scale to the current water parks. Add that to the billions of dollars of investment they have announced in recent earnings calls and it seems a pretty safe bet that a 5th gate is at least in the planning stages. My guess is there will be a big announcement at D23 Expo in August. 🤞
They were able to clear the long line at Slinky Dog in 7 mins? Am I understanding that correctly?
Hi there! No, 7 minutes is how long it took us to ride from our place in line. We were much closer to the front. I’m guessing the end of that line was more like a 20-30 minute wait. Thanks for watching! 😃
Slinky Dog question: If the EE line was so long in the video, how was it possible that your wait was 7 minutes?
HI ROB! Do you do Consulting? Could I pay you for a 1 hour zoom call to help Strategies my Week. Possible
How do you know while you're still in line that Star Wars Rise of the Resistance won't be open?
Wish you would've touched on the fact that ROTR ride was gutted to begin with. The original ride was supposed to include a portion where you exit the ride vehicle then get into another one part way through the ride. Frankly i was pretty let down by the ride to begin with, it just feels like it's missing a thrill element... It's cool in size and scope, but it's just not that interesting
That is still part of the ride. Did you use the new single rider queue? I believe they cut that part of the experience for single rider which is a shame. It’s kinda the best part.
@@EarScouts oh sorry, that comment was supposed to go to the previous video I was watching 😆. But I have indeed tried the single rider line and waited all of 5 minutes
EARly entree! 😂😂
Great video!!! Honestly I hate early entry at Studios it is by far the worst of the 4 parks. MK, Epcot and AK are so much better in terms of spacing etc
It is a bit unpleasant when everyone is crammed between the ticket booths and the tapstiles, but they have been opening up more tapstiles for early entry which eases the congestion a bit. Thanks for watching! 😃
Just in time. 4 days and ill be rope dropping. Thank God i have 0000 intrest in slinky. I just dont see the appeal. Thank u for ur videos.
This right here, Rise is “down” at opening. Why would you even want to ride “the most popular” ride first and so early? Now all day you have nothing to look forward to and you’re just going to wind up comparing everything to that either negatively or positively. Just bite the bullet and buy the Lightning lane. Come back when you want to ride and if it goes down for the whole day or the rest of the time you get your money back. You get nothing if you stand in stand by for 2 hours and it goes down. To each their own and I love all your videos at Ear Scouts.
I did early entry and we were first in line to do the ride. It went even faster that the lightning lane. But I agree you have a point if it goes down
Fair enough. I think for a lot of people, it’s not worth paying extra for the LL (especially for families where the $$ add up) so this is a way to do it with a short wait. I prefer to ride at the end of the night, but it’s risky because it is often down. Thanks for watching! 😃
If running isn't allowed in Disney EVER, then how do they do the run Disney marathons? 😂
Good point. 😂
Joffrey's coffee is way too light 😩 not a fan.
"Promo SM"
Rise is down almost every day. What a letdown attraction
