    Motioncam next update will allow you to shoot in Prores in real time.. ( less storage space than cinemaDNG)

      Hello Kino! That will be an excellent addition. I'll certainly be testing Prores with a few devices as soon as it rolls out. Thanks for the update!

      proresRAW? if not RAW, it will be a downgrade since cinemaDNG had all the highlight and shadow details preserved, even though the workflow is clunky.

    • @phonecomp

      A downgrade in quality for sure, but easier on storage and in editing. I think it's still a worthwhile addition to the app.

    In 5 or 10 years we know phone cam will be even better so better results with motioncam, the quality will keep getting better with the app since cams in phone will keep upgrading
    you already know motioncam results will keep getting better since phone cams will keep upgrading.
    Since motion has been out, newer phones have come out that show a difference from an earlier series model. S25 is coming that will be sharper and clearer than S24,S24 is sharper and clearer than S22 and S20,The model I have s20fe is less sharper and less clear than S22-24. Just imagine how much more detail the S40-50 will have using a monster program like Motioncam. I'm glad to witness history.
    To me motion when compared to stock or any other phone cam app looks like dslr quality compared to a phone cam

    Hello friend, first of all thank you for your video, I don't understand much, I wanted to ask, if I buy the MC pro 24fps application, but I have two phones with the same account, I want to install it in all 2, I have to pay 2 times or just pay once and download it in two devices connected to the same account, thank you very much

    I did more tests this morning compared to 400mb to 1200 mb, and the difference is very small; a person needs to zoom in and nitpick to see the difference, so I would say 400 mb is the max at which it shows a good jump from 230 mb, so I suggest a person stick to 400mb. directlog

    Regarding Mcpro24fps and 10bit: If there are such compatibility issues, turn off the GPU in the app. When I activate the GPU on my Honor Magic V2, I got a overbrightened and desaturated awful pictures, with not lots of banding, but lots of color patches. Turn it off and you are probably fine.

    great video. I have to say i have seen motion app motion cam with OnePlus 8 Pro 120fps 4k in RAW! and the 9 and 9 pro from Oneplus should be able to do it too! how this one stacks up in high speed mode ? i think the sensor type in every phone is different so are the results.

    • @phonecomp
      @phonecomp  7 месяцев назад

      Thank you Rocheuro! Yes. I've had better slow motion performance from other devices with Motion Cam. It's not stable on the Open unfortunately. I've seen a pretty hard cap at 60fps from recent phones with MotionCam, often with Filmic Pro too.

      Yep, OpenCamera is so basic + really clunky UI, but sometimes i prefer it just for quick capture over stock cam, as it with right settings give similar look to mcpro24fps just for quick snap

    Man some of those shots were looking like a movie! I gave up on filmic pro a long time ago after they switched their pricing, making me lose all the paid upgrades I had with them. Blackmagic all the way now!

    • @phonecomp
      @phonecomp  10 месяцев назад

      Thanks Danner! As soon as Blackmagic brings their camera app to Android, I will be all over it! Yes, Filmic's new pricing structure is frustrating--I totally agree, but it is often the best camera app on Android. MCPro24FPS is pretty close though (results were better in this test, but Filmic has some really attractive features that are unique). Then for RAW, MotionCam continues to amaze me!

    Motioncam Pro seems to work best with the Samsung ISOCELL pixel binned sensors and the newer bigger Sony IMX sensors.

      @SilenzioHUN Месяц назад

      Oneplus Open has the Sony Lytia 808 sensor, the successor of the IMX series, which will soon be discontinued. The Lytia is too new, too advanced, a real weirdo with its 2-Layer Transistor Pixel technology. We just have to wait for real compatibility.

      MotionCam is a beastly camera app, just not practical to shoot RAW all the time. Filmic and MCPro still certainly have a place and are more mature in terms of UI and integrations with other hardware/software. But yeah, MotionCam is my favorite to film with for what I shoot 80% of the time.

      @@phonecomp hey if you ever have the time or interest, you should cover "AMVR mobile video". idk exactly what it is, but it seems like a similar project to motioncam but with a priority on saving space.

    • @03chrisv
      @03chrisv 7 месяцев назад +1

      I have Motioncam and MCPro24 and both can look virtually identical to each other after post work. If you record in 10 bit H.265 with a bitrate of around 300 mbps you can get very good results with MCPro24 on a capable smartphone like a S23 Ultra for example. In fact it has far less noise and preserves details better than Motioncam RAW even with Motioncam's denoiser turned on. Highlights and shadow detail is also preserved very well in MCPro24. Maybe Motioncam has a slight edge in well lit conditions, but in lower light I have to give it to MCPro24 due to vastly less noise and more detail.
      Overall with correct exposure and lighting you can make both look equally as good in post. It's just that working with RAW files isn't very practical so MCPro24 gets more use from me due to looking about as good with much smaller file sizes, though as said earlier in lower light conditions MCPro24 has the edge. And I say all this as someone who has been a Motioncam fanboy in the past.

      @@03chrisv i've never seen a comparison of processed shit coming close to raw video

    • @03chrisv
      @03chrisv 7 месяцев назад +1

      @nbshftr You can turn off all sorts of processing in MCPro24. You can turn denoising completely off, sharpening completely off, chromatic aberration correction off, etc etc as well as crank up the bitrate way past what the stock native camera apps in phones usually provide. Literally the only difference at this point is that RAW is uncompressed, though a high enough bitrate can look about as good as RAW since compression technology is quite good nowadays.
      Sony's FX3, the camera used to make the movie The Creator, usually records between 200mbps to 300mbps at 4k 30. That's not even close to Cinema RAW DNG's through-put, yet it's a good enough bitrate to be used in big budget Hollywood productions. I think 4k Blurays top out at like 120mbps bitrates, yet MCPro24 let's you go all the way up to 500mbps. The difference in quality between a high bitrate video with image processing turned off vs a RAW video is basically zero.
