Thanks for this great video! I am about to pull out the pump on my wife's Peugeot 307, I don't get any resistive reading off the sensor terminals on the pump. I have also tried putting a 100 Ohm resistor across the sensor terminals going back to ECU and the fuel gauge stays on empty with the light on. The voltage across the sensor terminals is 1.4 volts
Hei, I hope you can help me. I have a citroen c4 2008 1.6 HDI. I try to fill fuel and it just doesnt goes in. I unpluged the ventilation hose and blew from there into the tank and the fuel goes back, But then I blew air from the fuel pipe and It goes well and air comes from the ventilation hose. What I noticed is that if I blow too hard into the fuel hose I hear a click noise in the part where the fuel pipe unites with the fuel tank. I hope I was clear enough and I dont how what to do. any help?
Mine dont show how much petrol but sometimes starts and runs no problem so and sometines doesnt and petrolclight on aswell even if starts it dont light on shows bo petrol coud that be the same guys?rrally need help
Hi there, I have the same problem on my Citroen C3 (2008). My autoelectrician changed the whole fuel pump with a new one, but the fuel gauge is still not working. Would you know what it could be? Thanks a million!
So what if we get some result from the sensor how we should test other things like wire bsm or ecu. l got some response from the sensor that's why l am asking.
Hej Jag har en Citroen C5 2.0 2002 bensin. Min bränslepump liknar som den på videon. När jag kopplar multimetern enligt den ordning som du visade här så få jag 193 k!!! Hur tolkar man den siffran?
Hi, great video! :) I have 10% of the same problem: :) the level of the diesel doesn’t show the last point in the level even if I put so much diesel that it starts to come out of the tank :) What could be the problem and how easy to fix? If better to write a mail - to which mail I vould write? Thank you in advance for your help, with best regards, Alexander :)
Hi Not sure... some smaller cars don't have access from inside... Just do a quick Google search... surely there is some info out there about the location/access... Thank you for watching and for your comment!
Great video & explanation. Thanks for sharing. Is the 50 - 350 Ohm potentiometer readings the same for all cars? I do have wrong indications on a Peugeot Rallye 106 16v (1998) fuel meter... Thanks again.
Everything depends also on the Fuel pump and it's gauge for instance I bought to my 307 new pump from Bosch and I have 50-185 Ohm I have a problem with readings I tried change setting for empty end full but without results. Next I will restore default sender settings 66-350 And i use Learning in spare parts fold in Diagbox and see what happen
I have done that already and all fuses have power, only 10 and 5 at times dont have on the Bsm. Then when i remove battery terminals and check fuses once more it starts untill it dies again without warning signs while driving
You have not even stated wich car we are talking about... which makes it very difficult to give any specific advice... that is why I advised the basic... 👍
hi man thanks for the fix and need your opinion about a car that came to me first case i undergo it is an audi a3 2006 petrol they tried to test a used ecu into the car then they put the original one but it won't start at all the word safe is displayed in the instrument cluster any idea
sadik mamoun Hi I would know without first check how the system works... Have you scanned the car? What was the original car problem, or was just used to test that other ecu?
Thank you very much, that makes all the difference if someone has already solved the problem. Mine is shoeing 1/2 all the time and doesn't move if you put more fuel in.. One question,How difficult was it to remove from the tank, did you need special tools.?. Thanks again.
mathew whall Lol.... With a lot of patience!... They can be tricky to thread again... you just need to keep trying... as far as I am aware there is no magic moves...
lmsvvavr thank you for replying no at all first it was working fine after that when I did not use it for some times when I start it again to check my car the light start blinking just by connecting to the computer
Checking resistance may be misleading in some cases. Another way of testing is that you see 5v on one wire, 0v ground on the other, sensor unplugged. Jump 5v to ground and instrument cluster must read full tank or so. The whole circuit is tested ecu, wires and cluster so fuel level sensor is bad.
Your tutorial is so great ! If you don't mind me asking, I have another sort of problem with my gauge and I don't see any solution : The gauge shows 3/4 full while it is actually full full but what is surprising is when I unplung the wire from the fuel pump, my gauge still show 3/4 full when I put contact on (and goes back to 0 when I swith contact off). I would be very grateful to have an insight :D
I don't have anything to actuate the needle. I have an OBD 2 test tool (AL539) and I just use it to read the codes that my car may have (and no code registered at all for now !). Maybe I can actuate the needle with this tool but I don't think so ! Another detail : today the car computer seemed to have the correct estimated fuel remaining while the gauge was still plain wrong (keeps on getting lower and lower). Thank you very much for helping me, truely appreciate !
@@MrBwetch That's why I asked if you could actuate the needle... Because if the computer is seeing the right amount of fuel, but the needle is not, then it might be an issue with the cluster... and actuate the needle would show you that...
Brilliant video, and you took your time explaining things slowly and clearly.well done

Either a wire or contact somewhere, or the cluster...
Why was the pump changed?
Was the cluster tested?

Did you get this sorted
hello how do you removed the plastic ring ?
Turn it anticlockwise...
Is threaded in...

Replace the lever sensor... is probably your best option...
Or remove yours first, it might be getting stuck...

Only the green lights should blink when data is being transferred...
Is that happening when connected to the car?

My fuel gauge is not working. When I switch on the ignition, the gauge shows up on the panel, then disappears completely
