She's the real victim, & all of those mean things she said to him were just a result of her frustration towards him. Stalking wasn't really an issue for most people back then, so the police usually did little to nothing about it. If you were in her place, I'm sure that you'd have a similar response

      As the series progressed, Steve learned what life is like not only as Laura but also the Winslows with Myra stalking him relentlessly and invading his personal space. She took it a step further by forcibly having sex with him in his locker and spied on him by drawing him naked in his room. It was from there Urkel learned a hard lesson in respecting people's personal space and realized how annoying he is to everyone in general. He accepts that he has a lot of growing up to do and work on his behavior. It was only when Steve agreed to go steady with Myra at the end of season 6's Paradise Bluff, that she calmed down considerably and he was less attached to the Winslows because she kept him distracted from his family issues with his parents.
      During season 7's She's Back and Swine Lake, Urkel has Deja vu moment with Eddie being stalked by Myrtle and saw first hand how annoying that is. He knows that Greta's dating his friend and is a perfect girlfriend to him. Steve warned Myrtle to stay away from Eddie several times whenever she came to Chicago to visit him. He knows when to back off and respect not only Laura's personal space, but also the Winslows' because of his experience with Myra. Unlike Urkel, Myrtle never learned the same lessons as he did until the end of season 9's Don't Make Me Over when she realized how annoying she is to Eddie and decides to leave Chicago for some personal growth herself.

      He did in season 7's Swine Lake when he confronted Myrtle and warns her to stay away from Eddie. Steve points out that what Myra did to him is how he treated the Winslows earlier in disrespecting their personal space. This taught him a hard lesson in respecting people's personal space and realized how annoying he is to everyone in general. Even Urkel knew better because he seen first hand that Greta is the perfect girlfriend to Eddie in Walking My Baby Back Home. He points out that Myrtle should just leave his friend alone and find someone else who loves her and wants to be with her.
      This was repeated in season 9's Don't Make Me Over. When Myrtle pointed out that Steve won Laura's affections, he mentioned they had a lot of growing up to do. She was able to date normally because he was committed to Myra while in high school. Because of her, Steve was less attached to the Winslows and grew into his own person

      Laura realized her true mate was Steve, the real guy not some alter ego or clone creation that had his moments of being a narcissistic. When he was ready to leave to let Laura have Stefan for her life mate, you could tell it was the hardest thing for him to let Laura have that choice. But Laura realized she needed to be with the one guy who has always treated her like a queen no matter what and will take the marriage vows seriously. The looks in their eyes were that they knew they were truly meant to be together, in love completely and devoted to each other. The hug at the end when she accepts Steve to be the guy she will spend her life with is so touching, you can tell they don't want to let each other go.

    • @rpmangin
      @rpmangin 5 лет назад

      @@JanetMarieRose73 Steve had been in love with her before he even really knew her though. One could see Steve as being stubborn and believing love should be eternally loyal no matter what, but, on the other hand, Steve DID live with Laura and her whole family for two or three years before they started dating, so Steve probably had a legitimate reason to still be in love with Laura by then.

    • @rpmangin
      @rpmangin 5 лет назад

      @@JanetMarieRose73 Right. Maybe the reason Laura eventually loved Steve more than Stefan (like, um, Myra had always done), was because, like Myra, she realized Steve would never cheat on her (Myra knew Steve would never cheat on her with anyone besides Laura), whereas Stefan was pretty much designed to be a ladies' man, and there's always that risk he would revert to his original shallow and uncaring self and leave Laura for another woman.

      Harriette Winslow: Carl's wife whom is annoyed by Laura akin to Carl and Steve.
      Judith "Judy" Desdemona Winslow: older twin sister of Steve whom Harriette often comes down hard on due to her irresponsible nature and immaturity.
      Steven "Steve" Quincy Winslow: younger twin brother of Judy. The normal counterpart of Steve Urkel

      Michael Amos Urkel: Laura's cousin from Biloxi whom is the male counterpart of Myrtle. His infatuation of Judy mirrors that of Laura's own to Steve's, except more aggressive
      Amelia "Big Mama" Urkel: The mother of Michael who looks similar to Harriette and is a peanut farming mogul.
      Cordelia "C-Katt" Urkel: Laura's gangster cousin from Detroit similar to Harriette and Rachel's cousin, Clara "Easy C" Baines
      Myra Curran: One of Steve's former girlfriends whom was a popular cheerleader and Ted's cousin. The normal counterpart of Myra Monkhouse
      Ted Monkhouse: An attractive genius who is infatuated with nerdy girls and Laura being no exception. Myra's cousin. The alternate counterpart to Ted Curran.
      Maxwell Johnson: Steve's best friend and confidant similar to Maxine.
      Wanda Faldo: Judy's best friend whom is the quintessential idiot akin to Waldo.
      Gregory "Greg" McClure: Another of Steve's friends whom is dating Judy. The son of Danica McClure. His counterpart is Greta.

But at the same time, I would not appreciate someone like that in real life, always messing up my life and wrecking my stuff, which someone who I lived with as a roommate back in the late 1990s to min 2000s always did. Only difference between Steve and that roommate was this: When Steve wrecked the Winslows' things, it was unintentional, and he tried to make up for it. Not me. Laura ALWAYS liked Steve. As early as season 2. Wasn’t she jealous of Steve and Suzie?

    I like the touch of this that it's Harriet, not Carl, who's driven insane regularly by Laura Urkel's antics.

    I felt so bad for Steve in this episode, and for Laura right here.

    Watch me through the door before I had to break the table to cut in half second because I would used the same thing as my power assistant living room instead of locked out

    When Steve talks, why do feel like I'm hearing Sonic the Hedgehog from the old 90s cartoons?

      Cuz he was the voice of Sonic The Hedgehog. In this scene, he is trying to play a non-nerd version of Steve Urkel & he ends off coming off in a between gray-area with his voice sounding like Steve & Stefan & giving the same inflections he gives doing the voice of Sonic.

      @@nmemassive Bingo.
      In fact, I wrote a fanfic called When Urkel Saved Mobius in dedication to Jaleel White. I collabed on it with my BFF Elizabeth.

      Dr. Urkel and Mr. Cool. Laura found out how insensitive and arrogant Stefan was to Carl's partner. She demanded that he bring back Steve at once. When he asked her why, Laura admits as annoying as Urkel is, he has always been sensitive and caring to others' well being. This convinced him to return as Urkel(via eating the tablet to reverse the cool genes).
