Well I think it would be better if they were both to be mature and responsible people instead of the problems that they have with each other. Because that would fix everything.
I mean I'm saying if I was Jaleel I would be trying VERY hard not to laugh when Laura Urkel starts to make those stupid faces at 1:18. I wonder if that was unscripted? Of course the character of Steve sounds ticked off but if I was the actor I wouldn't keep a straight face.
Yeah, Myra was also the answer to Laura's wish earlier in this episode when she wished Steve knew what it was like to be in her shoes. Steve did find out in season five, when Myra was stalking him. Myra stalked him even worse in season nine too, but that was just as much Steve's fault for always giving Laura what she wanted while Myra got the shaft - Myra was such a sweet person before she met Steve; Steve turned Myra into a monster.
I hope people know that not only did Steve and Laura trade places but Carl and Harriet did as well. That's why Carl was calm while Harriet went wild on Laura like Carl does to Steve. Plus when Harriet says "Go Home Laura"!
Bingo! That was real Christmas wish that was granted was Laura wish she was more nice to Steve and since She was more nicer to Steve, Ty got his wings, that was real wish and real lesson to learn from this episode even Know Laura did acted like an nerd, an geek, an dink but She had feelings just like Steve and anybody else. That was episode was an part to Steve's And Laura's relationship to each other.
Her angle was showing her a example on how Steve were does her if she keep dissing him but when Steve turn into the cool version of him she fall in love with him Laura knew Steve was the one the whole time she was just fooling herself
@cuz dogg I won't be able to upload the full episode because RUclips will copyright it. But if you want to watch the full episode, you can look it up on dailymotion. Dailymotion has most of the episodes of family matters on there.
He did in season 7's Swine Lake when he confronted Myrtle and warns her to stay away from Eddie. Steve points out that what Myra did to him is how he treated the Winslows earlier in disrespecting their personal space. This taught him a hard lesson in respecting people's personal space and realized how annoying he is to everyone in general. Even Urkel knew better because he seen first hand that Greta is the perfect girlfriend to Eddie in Walking My Baby Back Home. He points out that Myrtle should just leave his friend alone and find someone else who loves her and wants to be with her. This was repeated in season 9's Don't Make Me Over. When Myrtle pointed out that Steve won Laura's affections, he mentioned they had a lot of growing up to do. She was able to date normally because he was committed to Myra while in high school. Because of her, Steve was less attached to the Winslows and grew into his own person
If possible can we get the whole Laura experience? She is impeccable as Urkel and the Scream right before this starts is so hilarious! Even her entrance is Amazing. I 💘 her for this performance alone. Every classic early Urkel reference was accompanied by a superb voice job. It is hard to sound exactly like him but somehow her own little twangs come out here and there and she makes it her own while maintaing that perfect annoying tone. Kudos to her and you if you post it Please.
Carl wasn't a full on nerd and still half of himself. He didn't start seeing the change until he started indulging in activities similar to Steve (i.e. eating cheese, ironing his underwear and listening to the Bulgarian Women's choir) and causing the nerd genes to accelerate.
Out of the Urkel counterparts for the Winslows, only Eddie Urkel was the antagonist. Laura and Carl learned how to appreciate Steve after being yelled at.
In this reverse situation, Steve is much colder to Laura than she is to him in general. She gets a taste of her own medicine, but a much stronger dose. I feel sorry for her only because-fantasy or real life, she LOVES Steve as much as he LOVES her, maybe even more!! They were born in two different universes, but they were meant for each other. Universes came together.
@@slowpoke96Z28 Only in the end, Myra did not love Steve enough to let him go. Steve did love Laura enough to let her go in the end (although one could argue Steve was only letting Laura go for his other self, Stefan, who was just his cloned alter ego).
Laura realized her true mate was Steve, the real guy not some alter ego or clone creation that had his moments of being a narcissistic. When he was ready to leave to let Laura have Stefan for her life mate, you could tell it was the hardest thing for him to let Laura have that choice. But Laura realized she needed to be with the one guy who has always treated her like a queen no matter what and will take the marriage vows seriously. The looks in their eyes were that they knew they were truly meant to be together, in love completely and devoted to each other. The hug at the end when she accepts Steve to be the guy she will spend her life with is so touching, you can tell they don't want to let each other go.
@@JanetMarieRose73 Steve had been in love with her before he even really knew her though. One could see Steve as being stubborn and believing love should be eternally loyal no matter what, but, on the other hand, Steve DID live with Laura and her whole family for two or three years before they started dating, so Steve probably had a legitimate reason to still be in love with Laura by then.
@@JanetMarieRose73 Right. Maybe the reason Laura eventually loved Steve more than Stefan (like, um, Myra had always done), was because, like Myra, she realized Steve would never cheat on her (Myra knew Steve would never cheat on her with anyone besides Laura), whereas Stefan was pretty much designed to be a ladies' man, and there's always that risk he would revert to his original shallow and uncaring self and leave Laura for another woman.
Seeing Laura tell off Steve first and then Steve tell Laura off "I don't want to think about you, I don't want to talk about you, from this moment on you don't exist." is somewhat a feeling of hatred.
I wonder how Laura felt when Steve told her what she told him all these three or four or five seasons cuz tbh she deserves that since Steve’s a great guy not a lot of guys are caring as Steve and the fact she has to keep on telling him to go away is sad seeing Laura with that pain is just satisfying
@@TTM719 The way the alternate universe version of Harriette ran after Laura Urkel was so similar to how the regular version of Harriette ran after Waldo in the Aunt Oona episode. @@PrincessofPower84 Not in the recent games. Regardless of how much dismay Amy has put Sonic through, she is considered one of his closest friends. It is stated that in his heart he may not dislike her as much as it seems, and that deep down he might actually have some feelings for her. In Sonic Unleashed, Sonic was stumped that Amy did not recognize him as the Werehog, and when he shortly after saved her from some of Dark Gaia's Minions, he initially chose to run away than face her with his condition. Fortunately, learning that Sonic was inside the monster form, she claimed to him that he was still the Sonic she loves. Additionally in Sonic Lost World, Sonic was crestfallen when he thought Amy and the others had died from the Extractor (she was about to tell him that she loved him).
She needed to understand how he felt every time she was mean to him. He was a little too harsh with her, though. She still has feelings, slamming the door in her face and the snow falling on her was too mean.
In a way, I understand how Laura felt in this episode. The way she reacted with Steve was so full of anger and hatred, but, I don't blame her one bit. I always liked Steve and got a kick out of his nerdy and clumsy behavior and laughed my ass off whenever Steve came close to being clobbered by Carl. But at the same time, I would not appreciate someone like that in real life, always messing up my life and wrecking my stuff, which someone who I lived with as a roommate back in the late 1990s to min 2000s always did. Only difference between Steve and that roommate was this: When Steve wrecked the Winslows' things, it was unintentional, and he tried to make up for it. But when that annoying roommate wrecked my stuff along with other things he did to bug me, he did it on purpose just to piss me off. He once even locked me out of my room so I could not stop him from trashing my stuff.
The paradox to the Steve/Laura thing is that neither of them is necessarily what they appear to be. His nerd persona could have been a facade. The same for her “normal” appearance. This episode shows how it could have gone either way. The point is that they were made for each other. Each just came in a package that made it a challenge for the other to recognize the person they were meant to be with.
Yep, she wanted Steve to know what it was like to be her and she found out what life was like as him so she got what she asked for. I guess that's why people say to be careful what you wish for.
And Steve still endured life as Laura in the form of Myra. He learned his lesson in season 5 and warned Myrtle to stay away from Eddie a few times in the later seasons.
She really did a great job here as Laura the nerd. Same voice as Steve and not easy to do!! Very impressive and she should have been more recognized for her overall acting ability. I always thought she was underappreciated on this show. She needed to do what she did as an actress and a character in order to make Steve work. Jaleel White was terrific and could have played Steve all day. But, if he didn't have Kelly Williams to play Laura as she did, it would have been like having two guys throwing and juggling bowling pins to each other. Only thing is, one of them would be missing and the other guy would be throwing the pins without getting them back.
That's because he was starting the role when this episode was in production. He will ALWAYS be the Blue Streak in my eyes. ruclips.net/video/46Esg_Sc7Ps/видео.html
Laura and Steve always reminds me of screech and lisa from " saved by the bell" .the only Difference is that Laura fell in love with Steve at the and and Lisa was always mean to screech
Watch me through the door before I had to break the table to cut in half second because I would used the same thing as my power assistant living room instead of locked out
Cuz he was the voice of Sonic The Hedgehog. In this scene, he is trying to play a non-nerd version of Steve Urkel & he ends off coming off in a between gray-area with his voice sounding like Steve & Stefan & giving the same inflections he gives doing the voice of Sonic.

I don't know how the hell Jaleel kept a straight face during that scene.
I don't know, but he might have been getting frustrated or irritated with Laura urkel's antics.
Yep. He sounded like he was ticked off at the end.
I probably wouldn't either.
Well it was live if they did a blooper he might laugh
I was actually very impressed at the whole genderswap Urkel thing. Laura Urkel was funnier than Steve Urkel
I always said that beyond Urkel, Jaleel White did have genuine talent so should have had a better career. This clip is proof.
More annoying.
Just as good
I know. I wished they could have bought her back in a later episode.
She kind of was actually..
The snow in her glasses LOL
I hope people know that not only did Steve and Laura trade places but Carl and Harriet did as well. That's why Carl was calm while Harriet went wild on Laura like Carl does to Steve. Plus when Harriet says "Go Home Laura"!
What would've made it better if we had Judy being annoyed by Laura much similar to Eddie was with Steve
She did the fuck outta that role!
I mean diss her
@cuz dogg I won't be able to upload the full episode because RUclips will copyright it. But if you want to watch the full episode, you can look it up on dailymotion. Dailymotion has most of the episodes of family matters on there.
You can also watch it on the tv one channel 328 if you have DirecTV.
I remember this episode, but forgot how well Laura did acting like him.
As We see Stevie did find out what it was like to be Laura in seasons 5 and 9 we all saw how Myra stalked Stevie and never gave him his personal space
Yep, but when Steve agreed to go steady with Myra, only then she did revert back to the sweet and intelligent girl he was originally attracted to.
He never admitted that what Myra was doing to him is what he did to laura
Well said!!!
Kellie did a great job channeling Urkel. Reginald did an Urkel impression but it wasn't nearly as accurate.
That was b/c he wasnt completely Urkel. He was only half of Urkel and half of himeself
Carl wasn't a full on nerd and still half of himself. He didn't start seeing the change until he started indulging in activities similar to Steve (i.e. eating cheese, ironing his underwear and listening to the Bulgarian Women's choir) and causing the nerd genes to accelerate.
agreed
Eddie turned himself into urkel once to win a new car.
Out of the Urkel counterparts for the Winslows, only Eddie Urkel was the antagonist. Laura and Carl learned how to appreciate Steve after being yelled at.
Precious Pudding Pop! Aww how cute lol
Lol
*Laura got a taste of her own medicine*
Yo she annihilated this role its so insane seeing this again as an adult! This is like an Oscar level performance.
I liked this episode alot becuz steve and laura changed lives in that scene and see how she treated him nd now she saw how he treated her...
She killed it😁😂😂😂
Kellie Williams and Jaleel White both nailed their vice versa performances!
Yo Laura did her thing in this episode 😂😭!
@ 0:28 Laura Urkel "Did I do that?" LOL!!!
Harriete: Yeah, and I'm gonna do this! Come here!
I just saw this episode on Hulu! She was cute as a nerd! And Steve Urkel was the reason to watch this show!
She played the heck out of that role
In this reverse situation, Steve is much colder to Laura than she is to him in general. She gets a taste of her own medicine, but a much stronger dose. I feel sorry for her only because-fantasy or real life, she LOVES Steve as much as he LOVES her, maybe even more!! They were born in two different universes, but they were meant for each other. Universes came together.
Gregory Canfield nah, Myra was the one for Steve...
Good thing she learn to be cool with Steve
yep
Too bad he didn't learn to get over her
Jan-Ida Ripton I thought she accepted him in the final season
I remember this episode. Laura's guardian angel was played by Thomas Kent "T.K." Carter!!!
Laura: whoa, daddy, hormone rush!
Me: lmfao!
Lol
0:49 - 3:02 This is very sad and somewhat sweet. Kind of bitter-sweet, if you will.
Yeah. I agree.
Couldn't agree more.
Agree
Laura was awwsome
she sure was.
Kellie did Jaeel’ character of Steve Ukel so well.
Seeing Laura tell off Steve first and then Steve tell Laura off "I don't want to think about you, I don't want to talk about you, from this moment on you don't exist." is somewhat a feeling of hatred.
That's true but it's also her saying that out of anger as well.
Sounds like what Sonic would say to Sally too.
I agree with that.
This is exactly why Laura falls for him in the end . Never judge a book by its cover
Baby, when Harriette went after Laura, I just about died 😆😆😆😆
Yep. About the same way that Carl would with Steve.
Right lol I was like uh ohhh
Harriette became the Carl of this universe
@@TTM719 The way the alternate universe version of Harriette ran after Laura Urkel was so similar to how the regular version of Harriette ran after Waldo in the Aunt Oona episode. Too hilarious! 😂😂
I wish they did have a scene in which Harriette did chase Steve. Particularly in the episode in which Carl was trying to read Harriette's diary.
😂😂😂
@skanthavelu Yeah, it is similar to that episode. They should have had a few scenes where Harriette chases after Steve. The only characters who chased after him the most were Carl, Eddie, and Laura. 😂
A big switch from Laura having swag to being a nerd herself...
A pretty nerd though. Look at her hair!
This is the episode I like the most. I remember seeing this episode when I was a kid in the 90's somehow I saw through it Kellie and Jaleel where trying to keep their laugh under control
I love that Jaleel used his Sonic voice for Steve Winslow.
A meaningful echo.
Steve Winslow is somewhat a preview of Stefan Urquelle.
Not exactly. Stefan was much more sauve, cocky & liked to show off
I wished they had brought the Laura Urkel character back. Laura had Steve down packed.
Yeah she did.
Alternate verse of Family Matters. My version would've had Eddie being a responsible adult and moving on with his life.

@@ladyfire44 Myra = Amy Rose.
Now Harriette knows what Carl goes through everyday, with Steve.
Yes she does now since the tables are flipped lol.
Yep. Carl now understands why Harriette tolerates Steve so much.
Great acting!
Sonic is speaking
yep
Sonic rejecting Amy Rose 😕
Yup!
Harriette: Go Home Laura. Go Home! Go Home! Go Home!
Laura: I don't have to take this. I'm going home!
Hurts doesn't it, Laura?
Laura urkel does deserve to have snow showered on her after Steve slammed the door in her face! Thumbs up if you agree!
Oh please, the way Laura treated Steve for years...that's the least that could happen to her
Are you forgetting Steve was an obsessive creepy stalker?
No
Well he kind of was an obsessive stalker, but I wouldn't say he was creepy.
She needed to understand how he felt every time she was mean to him. He was a little too harsh with her, though. She still has feelings, slamming the door in her face and the snow falling on her was too mean.
How did I miss this episode!
Serves laura winslow right.
wow she nailed it.
Yeah
no jaleel nailed it
I like how he acts normal but still talks like Steve. He’s not Steve, but he’s not quite Stephan either
Nope.
He's Sonic in this & Laura is Amy Rose lol
@@nmemassive No, Laura is Sally. I ship Sonic with Amy.
Hormone Rush
The paradox to the Steve/Laura thing is that neither of them is necessarily what they appear to be. His nerd persona could have been a facade. The same for her “normal” appearance. This episode shows how it could have gone either way. The point is that they were made for each other. Each just came in a package that made it a challenge for the other to recognize the person they were meant to be with.
So very well put... 💯💯💯💯
They are more alike than people realized.
always knew this.
My lil cousin curses at my aunt
My grandma: 0:38
Everyone else: awwwww
Me: (applauding) she deserved that.
Yep
k
So well put.. Took the words right out of my mouth.👍👏

The snow was in her glasses!!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
When I initially saw this I thought Jaleel White looked like he could have been Dwayne Wayne's younger brother in this scene
They do not look alike.
I like it seeing steve is normal n Laura being urkel especially how she pushed Carl n broken the table with the gingerbread house.
And you can hear a lotta Sonic in Jaleel.
That's because he was starting the role when this episode was in production. He will ALWAYS be the Blue Streak in my eyes.

Steve even sounds like urkel a little without trying
Sounds more like Sonic.
You didn't get the whole scene where Harriet tells Laura to go home, lol.
I wish there could have been an episode of Saved By the Bell when Lisa felt what it was like to be Screech and Screech was like Lisa.
Buy another gingerbread house kit on short notice. Ms winslow its Christmas
Laura and Steve always reminds me of screech and lisa from " saved by the bell" .the only Difference is that Laura fell in love with Steve at the and and Lisa was always mean to screech
Not me. Laura ALWAYS liked Steve. As early as season 2. Wasn’t she jealous of Steve and Suzie?
I like the touch of this that it's Harriet, not Carl, who's driven insane regularly by Laura Urkel's antics.
I felt so bad for Steve in this episode, and for Laura right here.
Watch me through the door before I had to break the table to cut in half second because I would used the same thing as my power assistant living room instead of locked out
When Steve talks, why do feel like I'm hearing Sonic the Hedgehog from the old 90s cartoons?
Cuz he was the voice of Sonic The Hedgehog. In this scene, he is trying to play a non-nerd version of Steve Urkel & he ends off coming off in a between gray-area with his voice sounding like Steve & Stefan & giving the same inflections he gives doing the voice of Sonic.
