Judy's alter-ego: Judy Urkel: The nerdy alter-ego of Judy. Out of the Winslow family's nerdy alter-egos, she is the only one who is a villain and Laura is the protagonist. Unlike Harriette and Steve whom endured life being yelled at, Judy became a nerd hoping to use the unlimited genius to clean up on the game show "What Do You Know?". Like them, Judy learns a hard lesson in the end. In this case, she learns how much it's hard work to keep such an unlimited genius after Laura shows up as herself to stop Judy.
Steve Winslow is the early prototype for Stefan Urquelle who appears later in Season 5 episode Dr. Urkel and Mr. Cool. In playing the character, Jaleel ends up coming off in an in-between gray area with his voice sounding like Steve and Stefan, as well as accurately giving the same inflections he gives doing the voice of Sonic the Hedgehog. In fact, if one listens very carefully, it IS Sonic's voice.
Best acting that Kellie S. Williams, who was a good actress, ever did on FM. She fucking crushed this from beginning to end. I would guess that she studied what Jaleel was doing on the set and brought it to her work.
@@Cmar102 In this scene, he is trying to play a non-nerd version of Steve Urkel and he ends off coming off in a between gray-area with his voice sounding like Steve and Stefan, as well as accurately giving the same inflections he gives doing the voice of Sonic.
Imagine the alternate universe of Family Matters where Carl and Harriette only have Eddie, Steve and Judy. Except in my version, Eddie grew up from his irresponsible behavior and is in college. Judy is Steve's twin sister and it's Harriette that's often hard on her because she's immature and irresponsible. Myra Curran is the popular cheerleader whom Steve dated. Her cousin, Ted Monkhouse, is the handsome nerd whom is attracted to Laura. Myrtle's male counterpart is Michael who has a crush on Judy and pursues her much to her extreme terror.
What an interesting flip in the script. I could believe Jaleel was the son of Reginald and Jo Marie Payton. It's too bad they never did a Carl's highschool year flashback, Jaleel could do a teenage Carl Winslow. Imagine seeing a younger version of The Darnells.
People don't talk about this performance enough. Kellie nailed this, especially considering how cringy and fake this could have come off as. I imagine Jaleel must have coached her as well. She played this like she had been Urkel this whole time!
Kellie Shanygne-Williams really dominated the Laura Urkel role. I actually liked her version of Urkel more than Jaleel's Urkel. Obviously we would see Jaleel White come back as Stefan Urquelle later on but he was also Myrtle Urkel. Jaleel was also a cousin of Steve's named Cornelius Eugene Urkel or as he liked to be called, O.G.D. (Original Gangsta Dawg)
I think the reason for that in season 7 was because White found out that the producers were planning to have Tasha Scott play Myrtle and Eddie going back to his two timing ways. He was angry about it because the show had Laura and Myra fighting over Steve. There was no need to continue the trend. White returned as Myrtle as a means to prevent this and give Eddie a reason to stay with Greta.
@@Angie2343 Yes and we use to imitate him as well by saying his famous quote "Did I do that" or asking where's Laura. That really shows how popular Steve Urkel was.
@@snakeeyes2551 Jaleel used his Sonic voice for Steve Winslow. It sounds a lot like Sonic breaking up with Sally (Kath Soucie) after catching her cheating on him.
All the while, Steve learned to respect personal space in season 5. If Laura, Carl and Eddie told him flat out to grow up, he wouldn't have listened and kept pestering them. Have Myra invade Steve's personal space and stalk him relentlessly, then he'd understand how annoying he is in general. Because of her, he accepted he had a lot of growing up to do and started maturing.
Kellie did an excellent job on being Urkel. 💣 🔥 ⚡️ 🔨 💯 2 things caught my attention: 1) Steve Winslow was way harder on Laura Urkel, 2) Steve Winslow turned down the pet name Laura Urkel gave him (Precious pudding pop), but, Laura Winslow don’t turn down Steve Urkel pet names.
He was more frustrated with Laura after how she ruined Harriette's hard work on the gingerbread house. Normally, Steve wouldn't reject Laura's pet names. I like to think that in the alternate universe, he set Laura up with Myra's cousin, Ted Monkhouse. Like the real life version, she too learns a hard lesson in respecting people's personal space after enduring life being stalked relentlessly and having her personal space invaded by him.
The most eye opening thing about this exchange is, it feels so much more harsh when you're used to this being Laura's family, and they're treating her this way. And then you realize Steve also feels like they're his family.
Most of his relatives were worse to Steve. They often paid him a lot of bribe money to never visit him. When Steve was Stefan, everyone showered him with love and even his own family. Even then, it hurt him so much because they only loved the artificial version of himself and not the real person inside it. Steve didn't really start loving himself until the end of To Be or Not To Be pt.2 when he realized that Myra was right. He spent so much time trying to gain other's acceptance of him, when he should've been working on himself.
Laura did a very good job of imitating steve urkel.they of had an episode of laura falling a sleep and she became irked and tried to steal steve turkle away from steve current girl friend and then laura turkle succeed and her and steve got married and had kids together and the whole neighborhood would be annoyed by them and then laura wakes up.
I remember this episode came out in December of ninety two Kellie shangye Williams as Laura Winslow she did a hell able job bless her heart ❤️ first her Laura urkel Carl urkel and Eddie urkel they did a good job 👍👍 i love this episode.
AU verse: Steve Winslow is visited by his guardian angel Tyra Jackson(played by Tyra Banks) Judy: Mom! Cash is so impersonal. Harriette: Judith, why can't you manage money like your sister, Laura. She finished her Christmas shopping a month ago and like Eddie, she never asked for a penny. (Laura Winslow comes down the stairs in stylish, but warm clothes) Laura: Hey, mom. I'm going down to help the cheerleading squad give out toys and to Fergusons to pick up your gift. Harriette: That's wonderful, dear. (Laura is putting her jacket on.) Harriette: Look at her. Smart, beautiful, popular. Laura is the perfect daughter and Eddie is a terrific son. Judy: What about me, mom? Am I not your daughter?! Harriette: You are, Judith. However, you could try not to be a narcissistic troublemaker who comes home late, disrespects my house rules and never takes responsibility for your actions. Steve:(in Shock) Laura's my sister?! Tyra: No, she's Judy's sister. Remember you wished for Laura to find out what life is like as you. So you're about to find out what life is like as Laura Urkel. (Steve Urkel appears in the house with stereotypical nerd fashion: a cardigan, button down plaid shirt, suspenders, pants above the waist and saddle shoes. He is lusting over Laura whom is annoyed. Harriette and Judy shake their heads.) Steve:(nerd voice) Seasons Greetings, Winslows. (Steve Winslow turns away from the TV screens an electronics store and is shocked as Tyra shrugs. After recovering his shock, he confronts her) Steve: That horrible looking person is ME! Tyra: Afraid So. You're the Winslow family's annoying next door neighbor, Steve Urkel. (She smiles at the intent and Steve is further horrified by this.) Steve: I look like a total dork. Turn it off. Tyra: Oh, no. Not yet. See you know what it looks like to be Laura Urkel, but you don't know what it feels like. (Steve protests as Tyra uses the remote to transport him inside the screen to Steve Urkel's body. The usual greeting ensues and then Carl appears with a miniature Christmas diorama of a family celebrating Christmas inside a glass bottle.) Laura: Careful, Steve. It's a work of art. Steve: No, it's a work of Carl. Get it. (laughs and snorts) Carl: Go home, Steve! Steve: I can't right now. Harriette: Why not?! Steve: Well, I invented an Automatic Poultry Stuffer. Unfortunately, the pesky machine mistook my mom for a Christmas Goose and my dad kicked me out.
(Steve accidentally knocks Laura, Harriette and Judy on the table and in effect ruining the Christmas in the Jar. This angers Carl.) Steve: Did I do that?! Carl: Yes. I'm gonna do THIS!!!! COME HERE, STEVE!!!!!!! (Minutes Later, Laura is furious with Steve) Laura: How could you do this to my dad? He worked so hard on that project. Steve: I'm sorry. I...... Laura: Just stop it, Steve!!!! I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF YOU!!! Steve: You don't mean that, Laura. Laura: Yes I do, Steve. I will never love you in the manner that you do with me! You're annoying, relentless, clumsy, immature and irresponsible. I never want to see you again. I wish you live one day as me. That way, you'd understand where I'm coming from. Now, get out of my life. (Steve is seen being kicked out of the Winslow home. Just before he could apologize again, Laura slams the door in his face. The snow falls on Steve's hurt face. In that moment, Tyra uses her remote and brings Steve back to his reality outside the shopping mall.) Steve: Whoa! What a ride. I mean, I looked like Laura and talked like her. But...... Tyra: But. Steve: I had feelings like everyone else. I mean, I love Laura with all my heart, but she rejected me. It was horrible. Tyra: Oh, really. Steve: I shouldn't had yelled at Laura like that. I should've apologized to her and made sure she was all right. Tyra: Bingo. Now, that's the wish I'm really here to grant.
Wanda: Come on, Judy, I'm hungry. Give me a sandwich. Judy: No, Wanda. I can't. Wildcat: Hey, why are we whispering? Judy: I'm late. Don't you have a curfew? Wildcat: No, I'm lucky. My parents don't care about me. Judy: What about you, Wanda? Wanda: No. But I had a hamster once. Harriette:(turning on the lights) JUDITH! Judy: Oh hi, mom. Sorry we woke you. We've been hanging out here since 10:20. Harriette:(doesn't believe Judy) Oh, really?! Wanda: No, we just got here. Judy:(embarrassed and sarcastically) Thank you, Wanda. Wanda: No prob, Bob. Harriette: You're in big trouble, young lady. Major trouble. Wildcat: Umm, Mrs. Winslow, in Judy's defense, it was my fault she was late. Harriette: Oh... Wildcat: You see, she was watching me moon rent-a-cops at a mall. Judy is more embarrassed by Wildcat telling Harriette what was going on. Harriette: Who are you?! Wildcat: My name is Alexis Park, but people call me Wildcat. Harriette: Say goodnight to your friends. I'll be on the couch making out your will. Judy slams the door on Wanda and Wildcat. She attempts to head upstairs. Judy: Goodnight, mom. Harriette: Wrong. Judith, daughter. Your curfew is at 11:00. Not 11:30, not 11:45 and certainly not 12:32. Judy: Oh, come on, mom. I'm a junior in high school, and an 11:00 curfew is ridiculous. Harriette: Maybe you're right. Let's change it to say 10:30. Judy: Oh, come on, mom. I've got to have a social life. Harriette: Social life?! You call mooning security guards a life?!. Judy: I didn't do that. I would never do something like that. I just find it amusing to watch other people do it.

In fact, if one listens very carefully, it IS Sonic's voice.
Agreed.
That funny I must of missed this one I worked allot then those days were so fun❤
She killed it 😂😂😂
Jaleel was great too. He used his Sonic voice the whole time.
Yep
If someone told me they don't want to talk to me, think about me, or hear about me where I don't exist, that would be hard to swallow
Agreed.
Not me. It'd be peace out girl scout!
When Laura said, "Did I Do That?", her voice sounded alot like Sandy Cheeks from Spongebob Squarepants!
I can hear it too.
I wish we had more of this alternate universe
Harriet had a carl moment lmao
Harriet's performance is very unsung here
If Steve can wear Laura down, then there's clearly someone for everyone
Laura got a taste of her own medicine
I knew that gingerbread house was going to get ruined. Who didn't see that coming from a mile away?
Best acting that Kellie S. Williams, who was a good actress, ever did on FM. She fucking crushed this from beginning to end. I would guess that she studied what Jaleel was doing on the set and brought it to her work.
Jaleel was voicing Sonic the Hedgehog by the time this episode was in production. Listen to Jaleel's voice. That's Sonic's.
Angie2343 Sonic was produced and released in 1993 after this
@@Cmar102 I know, but the AOSTH pilot was made during this episode's production.
ruclips.net/video/5EZ54vXrcVU/видео.html
@@Cmar102 In this scene, he is trying to play a non-nerd version of Steve Urkel and he ends off coming off in a between gray-area with his voice sounding like Steve and Stefan, as well as accurately giving the same inflections he gives doing the voice of Sonic.
I like how Laura is like Steve and Steve's like her it's funny and sweet and a little sad awww Debra basye 😔😥😢💔
james basye i agree
And Kellie as a teen Harriette.
Except, Carl was overweight back in high school while The Darnells were slim and watched their weight carefully.
2:58 "Did I do that?" LOL
Yeah, and I’m gonna do this! Come here!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Good idea is your gun up here
People don't talk about this performance enough. Kellie nailed this, especially considering how cringy and fake this could have come off as. I imagine Jaleel must have coached her as well. She played this like she had been Urkel this whole time!
I agree. And Jaleel was great too!
The whole alternate universe was a great idea and I wish it was explored more.
Laura urkel was an interesting idea
@@ladyfire44 Tasha could have played another Urkel relation then. :)
Carla Linton. Laura tickles me playing Laura Urkel. Acting like Steve Urkel.
The alternate Carl is what Steve WISHES the Big Guy could be around him.
Everyone needs to embrace their inner Urkel
I already do. I'm very smart.
@@Angie2343 When I was in High School we use to have Nerd Day and most of the students including myself dressed up like Steve Urkel.
@@snakeeyes2551 Really?
@@Angie2343 Yes and we use to imitate him as well by saying his famous quote "Did I do that" or asking where's Laura. That really shows how popular Steve Urkel was.
@@snakeeyes2551 Jaleel used his Sonic voice for Steve Winslow. It sounds a lot like Sonic breaking up with Sally (Kath Soucie) after catching her cheating on him.
Now she knows how Steve feels
If only this could happen in real life. I know a few girls from when i was in high school i wish the swap would happen to.
Kellie actually looks cute with those glasses 👓
Kellie did an excellent job on being Urkel. 💣 🔥 ⚡️ 🔨 💯
2 things caught my attention: 1) Steve Winslow was way harder on Laura Urkel, 2) Steve Winslow turned down the pet name Laura Urkel gave him (Precious pudding pop), but, Laura Winslow don’t turn down Steve Urkel pet names.
That's true, very true.
@@ladyfire44 That's what fanfics are for.
She makes an even funnier Steve Urkel!
The most eye opening thing about this exchange is, it feels so much more harsh when you're used to this being Laura's family, and they're treating her this way. And then you realize Steve also feels like they're his family.
Agreed
Carl loved Steve like a son. He and Harriette were more his parents than his own.
@@PODSMPSG1 true
Most of his relatives were worse to Steve. They often paid him a lot of bribe money to never visit him. When Steve was Stefan, everyone showered him with love and even his own family. Even then, it hurt him so much because they only loved the artificial version of himself and not the real person inside it.
Steve didn't really start loving himself until the end of To Be or Not To Be pt.2 when he realized that Myra was right. He spent so much time trying to gain other's acceptance of him, when he should've been working on himself.
@@ladyfire44At least he had some relatives who genuinely cared for him. Like some of his uncles if I remember. And his aunt Oona.
the female version steve urkel
She was Sooo cute as Laura Urkel. I loooved her. If that universe existed, Steve Winslow would've married her.
Agreed.
Jaleel used his Sonic voice for Steve Winslow. It sounds a lot like Sonic breaking up with Sally (Kath Soucie) after catching her cheating on him.
It's not Laura's fault that the gingerbread house broke. Steve, Eddie, and Carl need to learn how to control their equilibrium.
Exactly tbh they pushed each other into the house she just stood there
After rewatching the scene I think that you're right.
Yeah, it's more of a "Look what you did!" moment.
@@micahbush5397 Still not stopping Steve from coming real close to smacking her in the face.
Actually it was her fault. Laura did push Eddie, Carl and Steve by slapping them hard. She should've not done that and instead stayed out of the way
How. The. Turn. Tables.
She actually plays a better nerd than steve
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
1:50 is where the disaster always takes place with an Urkel as nothing is safe from them. Luckily they were told in a funny way.
I've seen it all now myrtle Laura and robots ❤
I am sure Jaleel helped Kellie act this way for this scene😊
I remember this episode came out in December of ninety two Kellie shangye Williams as Laura Winslow she did a hell able job bless her heart ❤️ first her Laura urkel Carl urkel and Eddie urkel they did a good job 👍👍 i love this episode.

Larry Banks me too i loved laura and steve
3:02 Do I have to be the only one who points out just how terrifying that death glare is?
Oh yeahh! That is scary!! When Harriette gives someone that death glare, they better run! 😂😂

AU verse: Steve Winslow is visited by his guardian angel Tyra Jackson(played by Tyra Banks)
Judy: Mom! Cash is so impersonal.
Harriette: Judith, why can't you manage money like your sister, Laura. She finished her Christmas shopping a month ago and like Eddie, she never asked for a penny.
(Laura Winslow comes down the stairs in stylish, but warm clothes)
Laura: Hey, mom. I'm going down to help the cheerleading squad give out toys and to Fergusons to pick up your gift.
Harriette: That's wonderful, dear.
(Laura is putting her jacket on.)
Harriette: Look at her.
Harriette and Judy shake their heads.)
Steve:(nerd voice) Seasons Greetings, Winslows.
(Steve Winslow turns away from the TV screens an electronics store and is shocked as Tyra shrugs. After recovering his shock, he confronts her)
Steve: That horrible looking person is ME!
Tyra: Afraid So. You're the Winslow family's annoying next door neighbor, Steve Urkel.
(She smiles at the intent and Steve is further horrified by this.)
Steve: I look like a total dork. Turn it off.
Tyra: Oh, no. Not yet. See you know what it looks like to be Laura Urkel, but you don't know what it feels like.
(Steve protests as Tyra uses the remote to transport him inside the screen to Steve Urkel's body. The usual greeting ensues and then Carl appears with a miniature Christmas diorama of a family celebrating Christmas inside a glass bottle.)
Laura: Careful, Steve. It's a work of art.
Steve: No, it's a work of Carl. Get it. (laughs and snorts)
Carl: Go home, Steve!
Steve: I can't right now.
Harriette: Why not?!
Steve: Well, I invented an Automatic Poultry Stuffer. Unfortunately, the pesky machine mistook my mom for a Christmas Goose and my dad kicked me out.
Fan fiction time!
(Steve accidentally knocks Laura, Harriette and Judy on the table and in effect ruining the Christmas in the Jar. This angers Carl.)
Steve: Did I do that?!
Carl: Yes. I'm gonna do THIS!!!! COME HERE, STEVE!!!!!!!
(Minutes Later, Laura is furious with Steve)
Laura: How could you do this to my dad?
In that moment, Tyra uses her remote and brings Steve back to his reality outside the shopping mall.)
Steve: Whoa!
@@ladyfire44 Again, fan fiction time!
