Along with the "Cosby Show" & "Fresh Prince", this show was the essence of the successful Black Family. One of the best Family sitcoms of all time. Great chemistry & the show always had a great moral lesson. Friday night always meant "Family Matters" & Pepperoni Pizza.

Yes! The intact Evans family from Good Times and the intact and wealthy Jeffersons walked so that these shows could run 🙏🏼
Esther Rolle, who played Florida on Good Times, insisted if the show was to happen, the family HAD to have a present father, because she was fed up of seeing Black families only ever being portrayed as broken/single-parented.

If they do decide to do a continuation of the show like *That's 70's show* I fully guarantee we will see an emphasis on showing the feminization of the black male image. They will either have Waldo, Eddie, Ritchie(in the lead to be it) and Steve be gay with a white or Asian husband/wife. I'm leaning towards it being a Asian man because it's a PR stunt to make Asians look like the good guys when in reality they are planning to invade the U.S. by taking our guns away and shrink our military forces then EMP. Smh and the writers are Jewish women and men or black woman who may be gay herself. Peep game.

As a little Black kid in the 90’s, I wanna thank FM and Urkel for showing us that Black kids can be geniuses too. We were only shown White and Asian nerds, and Steve and Carlton from Fresh Prince were the 1st Black genius/smart kids on tv that I saw for my generation in the 90’s, and we eventually got TJ from Smart Guy by the end of the 90’s but Steve and Carlton were the 1st. So thank you for that representation.

This show was a fixture for me during my teenage years. My parents split when I was turning 13 and I was lost, hurt, confused and generally just a huge mess. That's when I first developed mental health issues. I became severely depressed, my anxiety was through the roof and I was having major PTSD episodes.
Family Matters helped me cope and really made me rely on my close friends and my next door neighbor to help me through one of my most difficult times of my life. This show had a major part in my coping with the bad family times I had and through my parent's divorce. It's a show that I hold dear to my heart. "even as a non African American" - the fact that you even felt you had to say this is a sad state of affairs about our modern society. When this show was made we were well on our way to getting past racial divisions, as a white kid watching this show I never once thought "they're black and different", I just thought they're human beings like me. I always compared my own dad to Carl, my grandma to Estelle, and didn't think anything of it.😢 I wish our world today could be more like that

I genuinely feel me and majority of my non-Black peers grew up not only non-racist but anti-racist because of shows like Family Matters, Fresh Prince and Cosby. From the age of 4, I watched Black families be moralistic yet hilarious: doctors, lawyers, judges, policemen, jocks, A-students, preppies, nerds, annoying siblings. Just like me and my family and every other American family. It was so formative to my feelings and ideals regarding social parity.

Whatever. I am getting sick and tired of these actors coming together on a set... and calling it "a reunion". This is a cast meetup, not a reunion episode. Stop trying to change what a "reunion show" is. They are not in character, they are not acting on the show.
Its cute to see the actors being friends on set, and talking about their JOBS. But this is not "a family matters" reunion.
Hollywood truly lost all the good writers with these types of productions.
These people are sitting here pretending like they are not friends off camera. Its crap, the Martin reunion as well... Who cares about seeing all you people together on a set? You are getting clicks from people who want to see an actual continuation of the damn show. This is a bunch of actors sitting in front of a camera, getting paid to talk about something they did to make money.

Jaleel is full of himself too though to be fair. Every one is adults now and they know how to be professional. That's all that matters.

@@lisacox3750 Totally. I mean, he WAS the secret ingredient that made the show so popular, no doubt... but I can't IMAGINE how full of himself he was back then, I mean, look at him here... he ONLY talks about himself. Everyone else's favourite moments were meaningful moments with each other, but his were all about himself, he doesn't even mention anyone else.

Jaleel White’s joke delivery as Steve Urkel is so hilarious that I laugh every time even though I’m hearing the same joke multiple times 😂

This is one of the reasons I loved Friday nights so much as a kid. The school week was over, and it was time to watch Full House and Family Matters, then later Family Matters and Step by Step.

Thank you People for doing this, I had goosebumps 😁

    • @TheQuota2001

What nostalgia are you feeling? This is not a new episode, this is just a bunch of actors talking about some monet they made. Its clickbait, this is not what the people want to see. The writers in Hollywood dont exist anymore?
      Stop clicking this bullcrap

I literally grew up watching this. Job well done Family Matters Cast. Your chemistry is an original anomaly. The fabric of this sitcom masterpiece is so heartwarming and authentic. And it is evident, as the connection you all have has transcended throughout the years. There was just something special and rare about that show. It made you laugh, cry, and feel warm and fuzzy. It was a moment in time when family could gather around the tv on a week night and forget about the cares and affairs of life, if only but for a moment. Your synergy will live on forever.
