Today I’m going to compare the Canon 90D and the Canon SL2 for both photography and video. These are two great DSLR’s with great value.
There are some similarities and some significant differences, so I will cover the strengths and weaknesses of the #90D and the #SL2 for both photography and video, and compare everything from body type, framerate and resolution, autofocus, lens options, audio features, and ergonomics.
I will also look at the #Canon90d and the Canon SL2 in terms of battery life, timelapse, viewfinder and recording limit.
Finally I’ll tell you which option I think is best for different uses.

Sadly I don't have the money to get those cameras but it's always so amazing to watch u give all this useful informations in ur unique way ❤️keep the Amazing work ❤️
Glad you like them and grateful for your support!
I randomly thought of this very comparison to check out and bang! you have a much needed video for it. Cannot thank you enough. :)
Love the blooper reel :P
Just want to say thank you. Your videos are a great help in my decision making process, and I appreciate the work you put in. I have a SL3 as my first camera, and I love it. I’m looking at the 90D because of the weather resistance, greater control functionality, and because all the lenses I bought will work with it. I’ll certainly use my SL3 for years to come, but I’m often outside in the weather and I’m thinking the 90D will be a bit more durable. Thanks again!
Awesome comparison!
I started out with the SL2, but less than a year later, got the 90D. The SL2 is an awesome camera, but I outgrew it fast. I love all the extra buttons and dials on the 90D and they have helped me easily transition to using manual for both photos and video. The top display is also a nice convenience.
Two other things that were not mentioned that some people may like to know.
First, because the 90D has such a high megapixel sensor, a decent amount of older canon EF and EF-S lenses don't have enough resolving power to get the sharpest pictures. Thankfully I only have new lenses, so it hasn't been an issue. But, many people have had issues using their older lenses on the 90D. The SL2 doesn't have this issue.
Second, the 90D has the ability to transmit a clean HDMI signal through it's HMDI out. This means that if you are using your camera to live stream via a computer and HDMI capture device, the image received by the computer doesn't have any of the info or the autofocus box. It also means that the screen on the camera will still be active and on with all the info and such. If you tried this on the SL2, the cameras screen would turn off, and in order to not have any info on the screen or autofocus box, you'd have to manually turn off the info readout via the info button and turn off auto focus. Another benefit the 90D has in this regard, is with the clean HDMI out, the 90D transmits a 4:2:2 color space compared to the SL2's output or even the internal recording of both the 90D and SL2, which is only 4:2:0.
Thank you! Appreciate the input. Yes, I accidentally deleted the clean hdmi output part during editing (not sure how) but you'll see it mentioned in the pinned comment. Super grateful for the contribution!
CONGRATULATIONS . . . after watching and enjoying your channel for months I just noticed that you've now exceeded the 100,000 subscriber mark! The quality of your reviews is outstanding, and obviously one of the reasons for your success. On to 200k . . .!!
Thanks so much - appreciate the support and kind words! On to 200k!!
At first I was unsure about your channel but HOLY, I've been binge watching absolutely every single Canon sl2 sl3 and m50 video and they're the absolute best on RUclips! I think I'm buying an m50, and you helped me make the right decision for my needs. Thank You and keep making this great content!
Great video IJust ordered the 90D as an upgrade to my beginner T100 can't wait!
Great video and appreciate all the information you provided regarding the 90D. I have purchased it as an upgrade from the Canon T3 and in big anticipation of it's arrival. Have you done reviews on budget speed flash? Thanks again and look forward to your very comprehensive videos.
Loving the 200D myself: light to carry, flip screen, good sensor - great value for money. Isn't my last camera but glad to have it.
That's a very compelling argument 👍
One of the few true professionals. Great review!
Appreciate you Nikola!
I have the 200d/SL2. I was also thinking of upgrading to the 90d and lo and behold, you drop this video. Many thanks.
I'm here to help 👊
Really good videos! Thank you! I would like to hear about crop factors and maybe you can also tell about f-stop and crop factor. Thank you again
I got you!
A great video for me . Loved the idea and really learned a lot .
Glad you liked it. Thanks for being part of the channel.
Great video always! You have one of my favorite channels! Quick question: Does the Canon M50 work with a small HD monitor? I saw one of your old videos yesterday and you used a different type of monitor for your M50. Thanks
Hi and thank you. I don't have a smallHD, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.
Thank you so much for another camera comparison video!
You're very welcome - thanks for the support!
Started with the sl2 two years ago not knowing anything about photography and video and just recently upgraded to an a6400. I like the sl2 but I wanted to get a mirrorless camera since the technology is better. 9 auto focus points vs 425 ... just crazy. Still getting used to the Sony system but there are lots of things I do miss that canon has. I know the a6400 has nothing to do with this video but your review of it helped me pick the a6400, thankss
Super appreciate you sharing your journey with me!
Fantastic comparison video. Really enjoying the channel!
Super glad you liked it. Thank you for the support
Thank you for this, amazing review!
Glad it was helpful. Thanks for being part of the channel!
You’re always a big help I really appreciate your videos. I have a question for you and anyone else out there. I have the SL2 but wanting to upgrade to another Canon camera for wildlife photography. I’m thinking about a new 90D or a used 7D Mark 2 or a used 5D Mark 4. What do you recommend or if there’s another camera I should consider. Thx Jim from Georgia
If you choose the 5D Mark 3 or 4 you can use a 50mm 1.8 Stm for £100/150, and you get one of the sharpest and cheapest lense out there.
Oh nice, I was looking for exactly this video the last weeks. Still got here on time!
So glad I got it published in time. Thanks for being part of the channel!
Love the review. Just what I was looking for. Just one question though. Am upgrading from Canon 70D and have a few lenses. Which of these two will be compatible with them?
Thank you. Both are compatible.
As always I loved your video , but can you do the comparison with the sl3 / 250d
Yes, I have it shot, working on it!
Dear Sagi, thank you for your awesome videos. I’ve used/purchased my SL2 way back when you reviewed it...and never regretted it!. Recently I’ve got my hands on a EOS R for some fullframe action...but my SL2 still rocks for back-up video, or 2nd body during an event shoot (awesome portret camera in combination with a 50mm lens). Again keep up the good work! Really enjoying your videos and I’m always recommending your videos to my friends who are into photography!
Dirk - thanks so much for sharing and for always supporting the channel! Not sure if you caught this video using the exact setup you mentioned for portraits: ruclips.net/video/DNA3JJZ8Tto/видео.html Thanks again for the support!
Tech Gear Talk I sure did 👍 Although I don't use my lighting gear outside much... I might reconsider it again with the set-up you've shown. And...must be said: you have a very beautiful model (your wife I reckon :) ) to photograph 😊
I absolutely loved my SL2 and the nifty fifty canon 50mm 1.8, what a great kit that was, lots of fun. Unfortunately had to sell it due to covid layoffs. I'll always remember that little camera as my first venture into photography.
Great video as usual.
Sorry to hear about that Steve. Hope things pick up
Oof I'm sorry to hear that Steve. You should get that camera back! Being covid laid off is the best time to have a camera!
I watched your review of the 90D and last night I bought a 90D body , I am happy with this decision having upgraded from a 700D. Enjoyed your review some of the more high-tech bits are complicated for me but basically the pros , cons and to what quality does it "does what it says on the tin" work for me. Take care j
Another great video. I have owned the SL2 for almost a year and its been a perfect 1st DSLR. I hope to upgrade late this year or early next year but I'm trying to decide between the 90D and the T8i. My SL2 uses the same battery as the T8i and I rarely have used video mode so the 4K in the 90D isn't a selling factor for me. Any chance of a T8i vs 90D video in the future? Thanks again.
Hi John - I'll see if I can get a hold of one. I need a gofundme for all these bodies, LOL!
Great comparison video as usual, Sagi. How does low light performance compare?
Thank you for the feedback - I'll have to do a side by side to give you an informed opinion. I know there are mixed opinions about pixel size and iso performance but I want to do my own tests first.
I use 3 90d’s for my channel. I just watched this because I love your reviews. Congrats on the 100K subs man. Well deserved.
Hey, I just noticed your final thoughts time stamp isn’t correct in case you want to take a look at it. Thanks again for a great comparison.
That's a super nice setup! Thanks for the congrats 🙏
Appreciate you pointing out the time stamp issue - corrected!
@@TechGearTalk No problem. Keep up the great reviews.
👊
Holy crap, this is the video I've been waiting for! I was at a Best Buy yesterday after a trail shoot contemplating trading in my SL2 (purchased last year based on TGT review vids) for a 90D. I'm so excited to watch this!
Hope it’s helpful!
@@TechGearTalk It definitely was, I know now what I have to do. Keep the SL2 and buy the 90D haha.
my uncle has the 90d, my aunt has 4000d, My cousin has the 1300d, my sister has the m100, my three brothers have the m50 i have the sl2, my mom has ixus, and my dad has 80d, and im so thankful testing the cameras and im blessed that sl2 has the best choice until now. Go Canon Family!!❤❤ Sl2 choses me as its functioneer and you are the man who make the sl2 as very best for me.
Appreciate you sharing - looks like you have a lot of lenses you can borrow!
@@TechGearTalk yah i even borrowed lenses on my classmates!
Wow, I was literally just wondering this. I have the SL2, but was thinking of getting the 90d because my skill has out grown the Sl2 and I want something that can do 4k and use the lenses I already have.
Super glad this was helpful David!
DPReview and Cameralabs review on the 90D 4K video is that it is soft, not as good as Sony or Fuji. Canon seems to be stuck in 1080P except for the R5 an R6
I wish Canon would offer some real competition to Sony for video in this price range. I am invested with EF glass, but Sony is really the better option for video at the $500-1000 price range.
In the same boat you are my dude! Placed the order today for the 90D to have as a primary body, and SL2 as a backup.
Hope it's worthwhile - what am I saying, of course it'll be! 📸
@@servo.images Cool, I ended up selling the SL2 to a friend. The 90D is very similar. Main differences from using it are better audio, 4k, much better pictures. The 120 slow motion and focus peaking are quite helpful too. It really is a "do everything" video first RUclips camera. The Sigma 18-35 is pretty amazing too on this body as well as my trusty 10-18mm.
I have the SL2 and it’s a great camera, I’ve gotten some great landscape shots with it
Awesome to hear Byron!
The ninety-do. Thanks for the comparison. I’m sharing this with my friend who just got his 90D last week.
ninety-do to you as well 😂🤣
Nice shot of Jimmy Butler 🙌🏽📸 cool to see the capabilities.. wondering what lens u used?
Nice comparison video too, really want the 90d😩
Thanks.
I have actually both and am happy with both of them.
The SL2/EOS200D/Kiss X9 is my backup camera.
That's nice to have 👍
Your reviews are the best thanx a lot
So glad you liked them! Thank you for the kind words.
Thank you for all the information you provide.
I'm watching all of your videos and I think I should wait for m50 mark ii.
You are very welcome - glad they are helpful!
Great video sir.
My request to you do a review with some lens on "SL2"
Like using zoom, kit, prime & macro lens on SL2. 🙏🏼

Thanks for the feedback!
Awesome video 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽📸, I’m getting the 90D.., I’m upgrading from the 70D🔥🔥.. what was the accessory at the end? Was it a flash???
It was a flash/strobe. Watch this: ruclips.net/video/DNA3JJZ8Tto/видео.html
Thanks for being part of the channel!
I just got the 200D/SL2 exactly one week ago today! I love it. But some of my next purchases will be the Zhiyun Weebill S and the 18-35 sigma f/1.8 lens. Please does this setup balance on the Zhiyun Weebill S perfectly without it hitting the eye piece? Pls I would love to know before I make my purchase. Thanks
Yes, it balances.
Hi,
I just purchased the 90d but when using clean HDMI out, I’m not able to select FPS rate nor am I able to record in body. However, I can record via OBS. Is there any solution to selecting FPS and enabling in body memory when using HDMI out?
Essentially I have a wireless gimbal enabled by HDMI out via hollyland 300 streaming to my laptop at 1080p. From my laptop I’ll be streaming RUclips live. However, I want to record 4K raw via my SD card at 24FPS
I know it’s complicated but I spent a ton of money on this setup only to find out canon has made silly software decisions... why limit HDMI out to 30fps but allow standard recording at 24FPs?
Been using the 200D for a few years, great for photography (with a battery grip) but need more than 1080p for video (you need more pixels if you want to punch in!) focus peaking and more control over audio. too bad Magic Lantern haven't ported to 200D. Almost went to Sony but couldn't do it. Bought the 90D. I will keep both for a 2 camera video setup. Good review!
Hi sir! Thanks for making this wonderful video!
Could you please make a vidoe of 80d vs 90d? 🙏
Is the autofocus of 90d much better than 80d?🤔
Hi there. I don't have an 80d, but yet, the 90d has better AF. (that wouldn't be reason enough for me to upgrade, but it's better.)
@@TechGearTalk Ok sir! I do have a 80D. Would you recommend me to upgrade to 90D? I mainly take portrait of family during travel :)
Great video, My 200D is still fantastic in 2020.
Thank you and agree - still good!
Amen! That it is, even in 2021! 📸
I haven't seen the Comica BoomX U before. Any chance of a future video comparing it with other products like the Rode Wireless Go?
Hi Mark - it's new (was just released two days ago). Yes, I'll do a video at some point.
Hi great video, I bought the SL2 like you suggested I am just getting use to it now the weather is good for photos. I am writing to ask what lens would you suggest? I have the kit len and I 50ml love both of them I am looking at a little more I find that I need to focus in more like a 200ml, someone at henry's suggested 200ml that had a macro and 200ml. I was at the beach and was taking videos of the sail boats but could not get close enough. If you could give me 3 suggestions that would be great keep up the great work. The other thing is a gimbal for the SL2 can you suggest 2-3 of them please.
Gimbal for the SL2 I would definitely get this one: ruclips.net/video/urugXDg3hnM/видео.html ( you can also look at ruclips.net/video/jOsOuHRDwm0/видео.html )
Lenses, there are so many. It depends on quality and the amount of light you need. But anything at 200 or longer would work. Here is my lens video: ruclips.net/video/UUPqjPs5Iw8/видео.html Hope this was helpful.
@@TechGearTalk thanks for your help you are always here for you subscribers.
@@TechGearTalk Hi I went to my local camera shop and looked at a few lenes one was $2400.00 and this one canon EF 70-300 MM F4-5.6 IS II USM for $619.00 before taxes do you think it is a good len?
Thanks for your suggestion of an 18-135 lens. Wondering, then, if I have an 18-135 as my everyday lense, would I ever need the 18-55 anymore?
You’re very welcome. Probably not. Unless you wanted a smaller setup for some reason.
I bought the SL3 after your recommendation and 1 year after I have outgrown it. I'm doing portrait and getting into event shootings and while I personally think if you have the money just go with the 90D, you'll learn how to handle the buttons and you then don't have to upgrade faster. I didn't have the money and the SL3 serves me well. I just am now getting the feeling I need to upgrade faster than I thought, but that's mostly because I got engagements earlier than I thought I would 😅. And I really have to consider my next lenses well. I want the sigma 18-35 1.8 but it is for aps-c so I guess I'll get the lens and the 90d will be my upgrade in the future instead of the canon eos RP or R.
@techgeartalk I love this video on the comparison. I had a Canon Rebel t3i which I sold. I was deciding whether to buy an 80d or 90d...but I went with the 90d, I got the mic you did a review on awhile back. I purchased the canon 50mm, 24mm, sigma 17-50mm, canon 18-135mm. What are your thoughts on what I purchased? Do you have any lens giveaway? Like a 17-40mm or 24-70mm? 😁
Thanks for the feedback. I think you got an absolutely fantastic setup!!! No lens giveaways at this time, but hopefully as the channel gets bigger.
@@TechGearTalk thanks I'll stay tune!!
I'm a happy owner of a 250D/SL3. Recently I bought an Ef-s 24mm 2.8 Stm and I'm impressed with the amazing shots you can get with this little cheap lens.
When I bought my 250d I knew wasn't great for videos but for photography is good enough, and I use it exclusively for that.
Hi, should I get sl2 or sl3 mainly photograph and I wonder if the built quality better in sl2 rather than sl3 ? Thank you
Same build quality on sl2 and sl3
Just finally bought mine! Looking forward to sooo much, even in 2023. Of course got mine for 900 bucks. So, some things are missing, some great things still there.
solid as usual! what's the amazing Star Trek - style building at 1:15?
Thanks Greg - that is the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
I watched your video to buy 200d & having great time with it. Now I thinking about buying 50 or 24-70mm. I want to know your option. I shoot indoor mostly.
Hi Mario - it's a matter of what you'll want to shoot and budget. Did you see my video about photography with the sl2 and the 50? ruclips.net/video/DNA3JJZ8Tto/видео.html 24-70 is a great lens of course
Great video Sagi, your last video on the 90d helped convince me to purchase it and its an amazing camera. Would love to see a 90d vs Eos R comparsion, it'd be Canon's ultimate Full frame vs Apsc battle.
Appreciate the kind words and support. So glad you love yours! That's a good idea for a video! (Sagi)
Great comparison as always, just want to ask if there's a way to control the shutter speed for built in timelapse for the motion blur effect? Or can you do timelapse manually on post processing. Thank you.
Thank you. Yes, but the 90D has much more control, you can go as slow as 30 seconds where the sl2 you can only go down to 1/30. There is also interval shooting on the 90d if you want higher resolution (but then you have to put the timelapse together). If you're doing timelapse a lot - it's a much more powerful option.
@@TechGearTalk thank you very much, looks like 90d is the better over all camera of the two aside for the portability.
yes
do you think the canon sl2 is a good buy at the end of 2020? or better the sl3
Great content keep going man , can u plz upload a broll cinematic with the sl2 plzzzzzs
For sure!
@@TechGearTalk , thanks a lot , I'm looking forward, cuz I'm a beginner and wanna buy sl2.

will u compare the 90d to the 850d i think its the rebel t8i in usa ..thank you great content
Hi there - I've been trying to get one of those!

Thanks. Very helpful.
Super glad to hear that
the camera in the profile picture is the Sl2 and i bought it because of your first review now im thinking of m6 mark 2 or just saving up for the 90d. Loved the review!
Glad I could help. Here is a 90d vs m6mkii video: ruclips.net/video/TbZtes_JyGk/видео.html
I was initially quite interested in the 90D, but due to the weight (with lens and especially Sigma 50-100), I've decided to keep a lighter kit going forward. I dont need a camera setup larger than me. The lens options for the ef-m mount are more appealing to me now, as are those rumored eos m cams that may be announced by end of the year. I like the eye auto focus, numerous focus points, faster shutter speed/high speed sync, etc options. Oh and ibis would be icing on the cake.
I've been doing this lateral camera move thing for so long that I'm ready to be blown away.
Super good assessment.
I have both and primarily use them for video. That aside, the 90D is sticker on auto focus. But since the SL2 had what is believed to have the same image sensor as an 80D, they match up very well. I also use the Technicolor profile on both and in most cases its nearly a perfect match in video imaging. On the stills front, I use the 90D more because it processes images better with less noise at higher ISOs.
SUPER appreciate your input!
hi boss, which lens will you suggest for Landscape and street photography, i can only afford one for both uses, i only have a budget around 500 CAD.
Hey brother, can you narrow it down for me? Give me 3 lenses to choose from.
i have 50mm 1.8 , and 18-135mm canon lens, i need to try new lens, something goes under 50mm. what you thing about 22mm 2.8 canon lens?
Great video. What about the 90d and sl3? I have the sl3 .
It’s coming very soon!
You really helped me a lot on planning to buy my very first camera as an aspiring Photographer thank you always.
Ps. I really like your Canon SL2 / 200d videos
Peace out from Philippines with love ♥️
So glad I've been able to help - thank you for the support!
I've been thinking about it a lot and I'll go for SL2 because it's budget friendly but killer.
Another good video.
I was planning on buying a Canon SL3 as a live stream camera based on an earlier video you posted. In that video you said the HDMI out on the SL3 gave clean output video while the Canon M50 didn't.
Does the SL2 do clean HDMI out as well? Would the SL2 be a good alternative to the SL3 as a livestream camera?
Hi Mark. I inadvertently deleted that section during editing (see pinned comment). No, the SL2 has no clean HDMI output. The SL3 is the better choice!
@@TechGearTalk thanks for the info.
👍🏻
Hey Sagi, Thanks for that comparisson. I really like 90D too.. Btw i finally bough Sigma 17-50 F2.8 lens 😅
Super glad you like it. CONGRATS on the new lens!!!
That's what I was waiting for,, brother❤️🌼👀
I knew it!
@@TechGearTalk yeah 🤟 😎
👍
Surprised I haven't seen it mentioned here, but one major reason I love my 90D over my 250D is the autofocus. I use them as A & B cams for video and I absolutely cannot get the 250D to stop hunting if I have it on auto, it just drifts constantly. Whereas the 90D racks almost instantly & always stays pin sharp. I think the 200/250D are both great value but just something to keep in mind if you're using one for that.
Thanks for this review
You're very welcome Evelyne!
I still need your help editing 😀.
I feel happy to see you phrasing SL2 as I bought one on your recommendation. But still waiting to know which lens will be a quiet lens as it is making to much noise
STM lenses are usually quieter. I would also invest in a mic
@@TechGearTalk thank you for your response. I do have the Boya lever mic need only the lens now. So will try to get one
Quality comparison! Wish I could afford that 90D
Appreciate the kind words! Take your time and use what you have. Thanks for being part of and supporting the channel!
Iam not planning to anyone of this camera..but I like to see your comparisons...
Thank you so much my friend!
I’ve had the SL2 for almost 3 years now and if I could go back in time, I would have gotten the 80d. If you’re considering which one to get, I would save money and go with the 90d.
i guess I am kinda randomly asking but does anyone know of a good website to watch new series online ?
I have both the 80d and SL2. Image quality is BETTER on the SL2, so don't regret not getting the 80d. High ISO images on the 80d are sludge and loaded with color noise. The SL2 at high ISOs produces clean, smooth images with no color noise at all. I'll be selling my 80d, but not ever letting go of that SL2. Outstanding camera!
Hello friend, I have a question, please, what is the best telephoto lens for an M50 other than the 55-200mm, even if I need an adapter, but I want something of this size, but a little cheaper for wild life or portrait maybe. Thank you😁
I would actually get the 55-200 or wait for the new lenses coming out.
@@TechGearTalk is it gonna be long time for the new ones?
And are they gonna be for the mirrore less camera?
I'm a photographer newbie. Bought an SL2 for a site seeing trip last year. Great camera except for the lens choices. Camera bundled with EF-18-55mm basic lens and a 75-300mm zoom. EF 18-55 good enough for 90% of shooting, but when needing to zoom in, never enough time to change lenses to the EM 75-300 (moving car, etc.). SO - can you recommend a lens that's like the EM 18-55 but has a bit more zoom capability? Like maybe 18-150?
Hi. There is an 18-135 you may like.
@@TechGearTalk Thanks!! So, comparing the "to" numbers (55 vrs 135) does that mean that the zoom factor is about 2 1/2 times that of the 18-55?
What about the 80d? Should I change my 200d for it?
I shoot landscape and I don't know if I could have an upgrade with this change
I would invest in lenses instead
@@TechGearTalk thank you very much for the help!
I just broke my SL2 while shooting my friends surfing. Camera got splashed by a wave and wont turn on now. Im sending it cannon for repairs but I've been looking at newer models for replacement and this was superbly helpful.
So sorry to hear about your SL2...
Hope everything works out and glad this video was helpful.
I have the 200d love it ... Will upgrade to @6100 soon. Nice video ✌️
Thanks for the feedback!
Does shooting timelapse reduce your shutter count?
Thank you for this! I have the Eos 250d, it's my first camera, but instantly wished I'd bought the 90d. The weather sealing is the must have for me being in the UK, really close to upgrading, just the cost 😬 Love the channel and camera review's
So glad it was helpful. Appreciate the kind words and you being part of the channel!
@@witssen9954 It was an awesome starter camera, sharp images when paired with EF glass. The menu system is easy to use and learn on 👍🏼 I've now changed to the EOSR so I can use the glass I have.
@@witssen9954 I did have, I initially bought the 90D, but the lenses I had weren't great, the images were a bit soft. I swapped the while lot out and bought the R with EF glass. If you get a 90D, you really need decent lenses to take advantage of the 30mp sensor. If you're starting out, maybe try the 250D or a second hand 80D which is awesome with EF-S glass.
Same. And also I do Portraits and events and I need better image quality. If someone is serious about getting into photography they should skip the SL2/3 and go straight to 90D if money isn't a problem...
@@steelynick but for the EOS R you can not use lenses that are made for crop sensor that easily :/
Great comparison. Been trying to decide whether i should upgrade from the sl2 (my first proper dslr) to the 90d or go full frame. Would really be useful to have 4k filming options, and the added flexibility of cropping in with stills. Obviously I could go mirrorless or full frame with my next camera choice but i honestly don't think i need the added portability of mirrorless, and just not sure if i have the budget to go with a newer full frame option and older full frames aren't really an ideal choice for me. Leaning 90d for now but we'll see. Terrific work as always
Hi Sean. I would not get full frame unless I really needed to (rather invest in lenses). For similar features to the 90D you can look at the m6mkii ruclips.net/video/Nir8pfvfdFI/видео.html Hope this was helpful. Thanks for being part of the channel!
@@TechGearTalk thanks for the reply. Yeah that's kinda the direction i was leaning. Need to get a few more lenses to have all that i want versatility wise. I am from delaware but live in australia now so it's nice to see philly in your videos. Reminds me of good times in the city! Cheers
I love this video, whats the odds we get a SL2 or SL3 to a RP ? I feel that the RP is a SL2 but full frame. As always keep rocking, this is one of my most watched channels.
Appreciate you Aaron. I would only go RP if you convinced me that I absolutely need full frame. Then there would be a discussion of resolution, then I would pick. Hope that makes sense!
@@TechGearTalk makes total sense.
Wow great content!
Glad you enjoyed it
Seguin make a video about the 250d Vs 90d I think there are more in line.
You got it Alon!
Is canon 80d is good than 90d in terms of price and the specifications because canon 90d is $200 more than 80d Which one or should I stick with 200 if I take 80d should I get and 18-135mm or 18-55 kit lens
Do you think the 90D would be good for filming urban exploring? I'm worried about the autofocus in 4k. I'm using a Sony A6400 and the camera shake makes it unbearable to watch most of the time. I tried using a gimbal but it hasn't been ideal for the angles and it's not the most mobile thing with all the gear I carry around.
Hi Eric, I don't know that the 90D would be significantly better - I normally put mine on a gimbal. With the a6400, which lens are you using? You can grab an M2 ruclips.net/video/UrKfZuEYUC8/видео.html and use it with a lot of smaller/medium lenses and keep it portable. If you want to shoot handheld, the a6600 woudl work.
@@TechGearTalk I am using the Sigma 16mm 1.4 and recently purchased the Sony 18-104mm f4 so I could have something with more range while not sacrificing a wide perspective. Do you think the gimbal would be sufficient to fit either of these?
Wow. After receiving your suggestion for an 18-135, I see also (online) that there are 18-200, 18-300, 18-400, all about the same price. Like a kid in a candy shop: which one should I go for? Thanks for your patience with my newbie confusion. :)
I have only tried the 18-135 (of that list)
been watching your videos on sl2 for the last week. Can you just give me a quick tip : sl2 or 60D? Im leaning into advanced photography,so whic one should i pick? (I have a tight budget though) - love your videos 😄😄
I don't know about the 60D but if it is possible for your budget go for the more advanced camera. Like between the 90D and the SL2/SL3 I'd get the 90D. I outgrew the SL3 way to fast... 😅
@@therealcinnimo thank you , but you are late and i already bought sl2😂😂
@@abdullaalmasum4945 it's a great camera :)
@@therealcinnimo yes indeed 🤩
I have the Sl2. I think I should invest on lenses now... What do you think?
I always support investing in lenses!
Please make a video on sl3 vs 90d 🙏
Hi, I'm a beginner photographer and i want to buy an entry level camera, but I can't decide between Nikon D3500 and Canon Rebel SL3. I would mostly use it for taking pictures and not videos.
Thanks in advance, your videos help me a lot
Hi. If you’re not doing video, get the Nikon. If you’ll also want video and/or streaming, the canon. Hope that helps. Thanks for being part of the channel!
I have an SL2 and got the 90D when I was upgrading to a two camera system. Best odd both worlds. Lol
you have it all!!!
That's what I have done! Awaiting the arrival of my 90D. Looking forward to using it for shoots and videos! 📸
Does the eye af work in video in the sl3??
Yes.
