⭐️ Buy the Canon 90D: geni.us/jKAno (affiliate) ⭐️ Buy the Canon M6MKII: geni.us/XHsya3 (affiliate) What's up everyone?! I hope this comparison of the Canon 90D and M6MKII with sample footage and images is helpful. These are two fantastic options with the new 32MP sensor and I was impressed with the image quality for both photography and video. Let me know what you think!! Would love to know what you think, good or bad. I am grateful in advance 🙏
Do you have a video link if it's possible to leave the small lens it comes with or any other lens with the cap on but connected to the camera for storage or is it a bad idea?
Hi, I need your help, you are the best reviewer ever, I need to choose between 90D & M6, for slow motion, I want to shoot (FHD with120fps), which one is better? or if you recommend a third one?
I was absolutely passionate about the idea on having the EOS 90D for both photo and video upgrades. Nowadays I stand on the EOS SL2, which is a pretty cool semipro enter camera since I live in Brazil and we must spend lots of $$ on these imported. Watching carefully your excellent reviews and reading a lot of other thinks I valuate the most for my jobs (as an example, the possibility of sharing batteries from SL2 and M6 MII, the ability to use lightweight cameras on my WEEBILL S gimbal, and the native quality itself of both cameras), I think I'll make now a backup setup for my SL2 to keep it always in hand and set definitely the M6 on my gimbal for videomaking! I guess I'll have no major difficulties using the EF-S to EF-M adaptor, which is in my case the only one "issue" having both DSLR and Mirrorless EOS bodies. Wish you well and congrats on your amazing videos, cheers from Brazil!
This is by far the best review and comparison I've seen for these cameras. Thank you for showing actual sample photos that you took. Other RUclipsrs like themselves so much that the entire video is just their face 😂
Great video! My 90d is coming today. I have had an 80d for several years and it has always been my favorite camera for great image equality, video quality, and most of all, ease of use. I have a couple Sony cams that have great features as well, but they are not as easy to use. The "Q" button and the touch screen for selection is definitly the bomb. Thanks for making this great video.
CONGRATS Dan! Since you've been using the 80D for years, you're going to hold this camera and it's going to feel so "right". Super interested in your thoughts once you start using it - thank stop by and share (here or on TW or IG)
@@TristanPaine I have since sold the 90d and am using a Sony ZV-1 for hand hold walking around simply because its so small and light weight. However, the 90d has stabilization available for video shooting that was not on the 80d. It will work well for vlogging if you don't mind walking around with a dslr sized camera and lens. I just find that either the Canon G7x mk2 or the Sony ZV-1 are so much easier for high quality vlogging with built in nd filters and stuff... Much more compact for my outdoor vlogging.
@@TristanPaine it's not bad... Better than none, which is what most of the canon line has. It's definitly a skill you will develope as you go, but many things will effect the shake. How you will hold it.. gimble or hand, selfy stick etc. Then there's a lot you can do with your post editor which will crop in more but add stabilization. The trick is if you want to have good stabile video, the further zoomed out to start with is best. So on the 90d with the stabilization, and the APC-S crop of 1.6 you should be using a 10-18 or 10-22 lens. This gives you a 16-29mm or 16-35 equiv respectfully. If you shoot at 16 at arms length will give you more area around your face and more area for the stabilization in the lenses, camera body and then post production if you need it.
A youtuber looking for a new cam. I watched most of your budget cameras reviews and still haven't decided between the SL3 , M50 or spend the extra bucks for this 90D .. but I subbed and like your videos so yeah , you earned those my friend. Keep it up and would like your advice on this dilemma !
I'm looking to update my Canon 70D I've Watching your videos all week just to buy my next camera I want it to have 4k & 1080 at 120 looking extremely sharp.. I already have 3 canon lenses for the 70D but it's not sharp. So what would you recommend for me ???
@@TechGearTalk I really like your set up it's super sharp and deal. That's the look I'm hoping to get can you do a video use the 90D as your main set up camera ?
What an amazing, very detailed review! You do a really great job of breaking things down into categories and explaining the stuff that actually matters. It’s tough deciding between two awesome cameras but I think I’m leaning more towards the 90D mainly because of its build. Thank you!
I am a M50 user and though the M6 is really nice in terms of portability and overall light weight; The 90d gets me on this one since I like the extra buttons and the screen up top when photographing.
Thanks for the great video! We have an old Rebel T4i that has never been great. I’m leaving towards a 90D but am a bit concerned about the age of the camera system. $1200 is our MAX budget and we have existing lenses that will fit the 90D. Shooting video isn’t a concern at all as we have new iPhone pro’s. Just prom, graduation, family and maybe nature photos. What would you buy? I’m feeling a little lost. Thanks!
Looking to use either of these cameras for documenting severe weather, capture slow motion lightning images, using a green screen to produce live weather forecasts, as well as vlogging with my fiancee. Which of these cameras do you prefer for this task? Seems the M6 would be the better choice but I could be wrong. Thank you for your time! I greatly appreciate it!
I have several Canon EF 16-35 / 50/100 macro and 70-200 optics, and my intention is to shoot on video. I have an easy solution, buy a Canon EOS 90D body, but since there are adapters for other bodies, the optics that I have, would they behave well like the native ones for M6 MKII? If the economic factor is a problem for us, is the 90D still a better option?
Hi! If you use the wifi remote shooting app in an iphone, does it let you to change iso ss etc? And does the dual pixel af work the way it is? Because both of them are crippled on sony when im shooting on phone, thankyou! Oh and does it have a significant delay?
Hi. Yes, dual pixel works, and you can change all the settings on the Canon Camera Connect app. There is a small delay and sometimes it lags for a split second but it's great for what I use it for.
Tech Gear Talk ughhh, just realized my question basically stupid because Canon cameras mostly already got front facing screen😆 but still, it’s a nice option to have. I’m ready to take a dive to canon from sony because all of these features just really convienient.. thank you once again for your comments and video, it’s really helpful
Hey there! Great review. I shoot family newborn videos and am torn between these two cameras. Which do you think would be best for filming but also allow great photography? Thanks!
You're doing such impressive, professional work in your videos... I love that layered slider-dissolve shot of cameras lined up at around 20:35. Good that you cover cameras for both stills and video uses. Your coverage of the remote control app features helped me pick the M50 vs micro 4/3'rds last year. The mirror-less form has allowed me to adapt some old vintage Minolta as well as EF & EF-S lenses. I prefer the smaller size to the bulk of full-frame cameras & lenses, and settled on APS-C mirror-less as a compromise between micro 4/3'rds and full-frame, but I still find myself walking out the door with even smaller pocket cameras more often! Seeing new dogs, wondering if something happened with your, uhm, black&white boxer?
Hi Rick, thank you so much for the kind words and for sharing you process with me. Our boxer Macy got really sick and almost died from pancreatitis. then started treatment and got better. Within 2-3 weeks, our other dog Rocky ( rottweiler beagle mix rescue ) got super sick and we had to put her down. About a month after that, Macy got very sick again and we had to put her down as well - she was suffering so much. It has been extremely sad in our household. I work from home and am used to spending most of the day with our dogs - thank you for noticing and checking in 🙏 We rescued a new dog - Jack. He's 1/2 miniature Australian Shepard and a few other breeds. He's a great dog and has helped cheer us up.
Mr. Tech Gear Talk, thank you for this YT vid. canon comparison...Your ease of delivery of the information and how you simplify the subject matter makes your vid a pleasure to watch and to learn from. I will be watching...more...vids. I will also be advising the home world of you channel. Lol. As always, with channels that I enjoy, keep up the good work and keep'em flying. My saucer is parked out front, do you validate....just kidding...no really, do you?
Thank you Mr. Martian - glad you liked it and I super appreciate the feedback. Nice to see I have some extra terrestrial viewers and I'm grateful to you spreading the message throughout the galaxy 🙏
Excellent video. Just wanted to know which lenses you used with the M6ii on the vacation scenes that look like perhaps Florida? Was it Canon M 11-22mm or 20mm or 32mm?
As of now, I'm torn between 2 cameras. Let's just say I'm a beginner. I look forward to having a hobby in photography. Plan on capturing family portraits, of course that includes my family and our animals. As well as Wildlife, landscapes, and capturing great fishing moments of my husband (sometimes on the boat). Of all the Canon cameras, which do you suggest for an absolute beginner? Thank you for this amazing comparison. I'm leaning towards the 90D or even the M50. Would love your opinion on the best beginner Canon camera?
Thanks for the info, i would be very happy if u make a video about canon m50, how to use other lenses for better photography, what's best lens and adapter? , thanks bro
Complete newby here looking for a camera to shoot video for my channel and I really know enough about cameras to put on the tip of a pin....especially with all the new electronics... After seeing a couple of your reviews and talking to a friend that just recently purchased the 90D, I have decided to pull the trigger on the same one. It's a bit expensive for me, but I think it will serve me well. The only question now is what lens? I think most kits come with the 18-55, however my friend chose and recommended the 18-135. I will be using my camera to shoot shop projects and machining videos, and maybe an offroad adventure in my Jeep, but mostly will be shooting shop projects and stills. Do you think the 18-135 would be a better fit, or should I get both? Thanks for what you do and I appreciate any advice... Razor!
Thanks for the comparison. Which one would you recommend for indoor sports photography? The M6MK II has higher FPS, but will the M6 MK II's AF be "slower" compared to the 90D's viewfinder 45-pt AF?
Hi Thank you for this great comparison video. I own a canon m100 with efm 15-45 lens , ef 50mm 1.8 , efs 55-250 stm and efs 24 mm 2.8. I am looking for an upgrade which one should i go for m6 or 90d. My purpose is casual photography and wildlife.
Hi Man, I need your help, you are the best reviewer ever, I need to choose between 2 90D & M6, for slow motion, I want to shoot (FHD with120fps), which one is better? or if you recommend third one ?
Hey Sagi, whats up!! Super camera comparison Sagi. Your usual High quality, reasoned explanation on similarities and differences is truly evident. Super stills and footage and great insight and explanations. Question, is there going to be any firmware upgrade for 4K dp-af on the M50? Take care Sagi. Ray. 😉
Thanks so much Ray! I can't imagine they are going to do that to the M50 - they are going to come out with an M50MKII. That's how they sell more cameras.
@@TechGearTalk Yeah youre right Sagi. I wonder if its a physical hardware limitation on the current M50 or whether a firmware upgrade would just fix it. I get the commercial advantage of selling an M50 mkII but it would be nice for Canon to remember the millions of existing M50 customers!! Stay safe and healthy Sagi. And look out for my M50 and Crane M2 combo footage in future cruise videos !! Thanks. Ray
@@TechGearTalk yeah, I've set it all up, balanced it, got all the external mic and stuff sorted. We are in Dubai and the UAE over Christmas and New year so the combo is going to get a workout. It'll be interesting to see how the motors handle the top end weight and high external temperature. So far so cool! I'm sure we'll see the difference in the quality of footage. More cinematic and with the gimbal, much more smooth. I'm quite looking forward to giving it a workout. So far it's been flawless in use. So we'll see. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours Sagi. Ray and Sue.
Great comparison as always! Went with the 90D for now thanks to your reviews and am very happy. The weather sealing, battery, lens availability and form factor made a difference for me. I may upgrade to a full frame mirror less camera once Canon upgrades their current offerings. I'll be looking forward to your reviews on those at they come out.
@@TechGearTalk Totally agree. Not sure the full frame mirror less offerings are competitive yet, so I'm interested to see what they can come up with in the near future.
@@TechGearTalk also I'm wondering if Canon could actually pull off a full frame mirror less camera with an EF/EF-S mount. I'm sure that would be a huge sell for them. Especially since other OEMs like black magic are producing cinema cameras that take EF lenses.
You would have to design the body to be about 1.25' "deeper" so that the lenses are at the correct distance from the sensor (which is what the adapter does). I wonder how users would react.
Thank you for the video you are an amazing communicator... What lense are you using on Canon 90D or what would be the best all round lense for 90 D esp for video that has both I.S and very nice crisp shots thanks
I currently have an M50 and I'm using a Sigma 18-35 f1.8. I like shootig street Photography at night, and the M50 isn't doing well with the higher ISO settings. Which of these would you suggest to get or is there another Canon APS-C you'd recommend for shooting low-light/night street photography?
Huh Lewis - both have the same sensor and processor so I expect the high ISO performance to be identical. I prefer the AF on the m6ii via the evf - of course that means you need to attach the evf. Alternatively, you can use it without and it’s even more compact. Hope that helps.
@@TechGearTalk Thank you for getting back to me so quickly. OK. that makes sense. I understand. The M50 also has a DIGIC 8 dual focus processor as well. So, with that logic, unless I'm missing something about the more denser 32 v 24 MPs, I should expect the same low light performance with ISO with the M50 as the the 90D or M6 mkII. Is that correct?
I haven't done a side by side because I don't really focus on low light (because of ruclips.net/video/q2hs8BOTXb4/видео.html ). I feel that with lenses like: ruclips.net/video/uORT1dfeS0M/видео.html it's never really an issue anymore unless I'm doing something very, very specific. The M6mkii is essentially better than the M50 in every regard.
Just wanted to let you know I have been following you with this account for a long time and today I noticed that I had to follow you again and this has happened with a few people I follow just found that weird since I had not been seeing your latest content in a bit and wanted to see your opinion on this 6D mark II and noticed this just a FYI..... have a blessed day!
As a hiker and landscape photographer the weather sealing is a huge plus. There have been countless times where I've had rain mid-trail don't know if other cameras would stand up to that combined with desert dirt... The only downside is the raw 30fps burst mode and 4 higher shots in burst mode. After a while of use I don't really mis these features as the native burst mode no the 90d of 10 is plenty... The ergonomics and portability is not much of a factor for me as the 90d is quite compact for DSLR standards..
I want to buy eosm6m2 for wild life and sports and using my ef Lance 300mm 4l is usm. This camera will work properly with canon adopter with out decreasing image quality. Please guide me
I really appreciate your efforts. I watched lots of RUclips videos to determine which camera is perfect for me. I decided after watching your video. Thank you so much for this excellent informations.
The M6II will shoot faster in burst mode (you'll need an adapter f course - for the lenses). If you don't need to stick with Canon, something like the a6400, or even the a6100 would do a good job.
Once again you just made me choose the right camera.. I only have lenses that go with my old 80d (EF/EFS), and cant afford to buy more lenses, if I switch the whole body.. But that non auto-focus 120 fps kinda kills it for me as far as the 90d goes.. thanks again
Is it true that canon is No longer going to be making the M-line of Aps-c camera’s soon ? And there for no more M-lens? Between the viewfinder and the lens adaptor to fit regular EF lens , is it safe to say you will be adding another $300-$400 in costs to the M6 Mark II ?
I love this video! I already know I want to get the M6 Mark II with the Sigma Prime lenses. However, should I get the silver or the black one? I cant decide which I prefer?
Thanks for the kind words! If it were me, I would definitely get the silver one - love how it looks. Not sure if you saw the Sigma lens video, but if you're interested: ruclips.net/video/uORT1dfeS0M/видео.html
Tech Gear Talk I actually didn’t see that one! I recently came across your page, but thanks for putting me on! I am gonna check it out now. As for which camera, I was thinking the same! Something about that silver model. I asked my wife and she said black, and my daughter said silver. LOL. Looks like I may just go with the silver.
I am looking into purchasing one of these cameras (leaning more towards the m6 mark ii) but am using this camera solely for a side hustle for photography, portraits of family and friends, traveling memories (I cruise a lot with my family), and to capture the birth and life of my son. I want this camera to be the camera that I capture some of our earliest moments with our son, so I am curious what you think would be best in your opinion for a new mom who wants to capture everything she can of special moments? I did purchase a separate lense that I did research on and I am aware I would need an adapter for the m series because of the EF lense that I have chosen.
So I focus more on photography and I'm looking on investing in one of these. So which one would u think is best 4 photography? I would really appreciate ur advice.
Using the EVF in the M6II you get better AF with more options. If you're going to use the LCD or need off-camera flash or an external flash, then the 90D is more flexible.
Great video, thank you for making this. Subscribed! Still very hard for me to decide, shooting mostly video I'm concerned with the stabilization. Is the M6 mk ii easier to find a gimbal for?
Thank you. The m6ii is definitely lighter and easier to handle on a gimbal. I even used it with this: ruclips.net/video/UrKfZuEYUC8/видео.html but would consider this: ruclips.net/video/urugXDg3hnM/видео.html for more versatility.
Thank you for another excellent review! I’ll probably go with the M6 Mark II since I already have the 5D Mark IV and the 5DS-R. Keep up the good work, really enjoy your channel!
Hi Sagi. Enjoyed the comparison. Just curious about one thing you said -- that the M6MkII has shallower depth of field. Why is that? Isn't the M6 an APS-C body, like the 90d? Also I was hoping for some comparison of image quality for still photography, but the content was entirely focused on the video aspects of the two cameras. I rarely shoot video. Which do you think is the better camera for photography -- portraits and photography in general? Thanks
Thanks for the feedback Donna. The only time the m6mkii would have a shallower depth of field is when using the speedbooster. Otherwise they are identical. I only touched on image quality for photos once, because it’s essentially identical. The real difference would be in using EF-m lenses vs L series lenses. If you plan on using an adapter. I like the m6mkii with the viewfinder because you get eye af for portraits. Hope that helps. Let me know.
I’m a total photography noob. In the market for my first camera. I really want to get into photographing motorsports. Lots of panning shots. Which one would perform best?
Thank your for another great video! I've learned so much about cameras from you. And, because of your videos, I have been able to make a sound decision about which camera to buy for my daughter (who is a beginner in the world of photography) for Christmas (Canon M6MKll). In addition, you've actually made me interested enough to subscribe to your channel to continue learning and also purchase a camera for myself (I'm thinking Fujifilm Xt-30). One more thing... is there a particular case you can recommend for the Canon M6MKll? Thanks again!
I'm so glad that the videos have been helpful and I'm excited for your daughter (great camera). As far as a bag for the M6MKII, it depends on what she's going to carry (lenses, etc.). I use the older version of this bag: www.peakdesign.com/products/everyday-backpack?rfsn=1850870.a7735&variant=29743300771884 because I can configure it to fit anything I need. The X-T30 is a fantastic camera as well; definitely one of my favorites. Would it be helpful if I did more tutorial on this channel?
For anyone considering the M6 Mark ii (like I was) do research "M6 mark ii shutter shock". May not be of significance to your usage but it is a con that is hardly mentioned anywhere.
Which of the two has better 4k video quality? I keep hearing the 4k on the M6 is very soft Is it the same on both cameras? Thanks much for your videos!
Hi. 4K video is the same (same sensor, same processor). People are greatly overreacting. The 4K is not oversampled from 6K like the Sony, but to say that it's "very soft" is a little much. It was plenty good for my uses, but if your number one priority is sharpness (mine is not) then there are better options. Thank you so much for the kind words 🙏 hope this is helpful.
I'm currently using the 77D with the Tamron 150-600mm g1 for wildlife photography. I'm thinking about getting the M6ii with an adapter to use with this lens. Do you know if AF is fast and accurate with this setup or should I stick with the 77D?
Hi. I have not tried the exact setup, but the m6ii AF is super fast so I would expect outstanding results. Plus you'll get the additional megapixels for when you want to crop
In your opinion, won't the af points in the 90d view finder track action---sports, pets, birds in flight much better and faster than the live view focus system?
Which camera would you go with for mostly macro still shots and maybe some occasional video? I would be planning on using the same Sigma 105mm Macro EF lens on both. Is the video any better on the m6 mark ii?
Hi Eric. Image quality is virtually identical since it's the exact same sensor and processor. That's a great lens by the way - you'll love it! Thanks for being part of the channel.
What accessories and lens / lenses do you recommend for the M3MKll to take outdoor nature pics in open areas at 100 to 500yds ( comparable to Sigma 150-600mm lens ) in addition to possible outdoor videos with mic at close range 0 - 100yrds ???
Love the video! I've been in between these three cameras for a while. I'm still not 100% sure what camera to get. I'm a full time college student and I mostly shoot photos and not videos. I'm still not sure whether I should get the M50 or one of these. Would you consider the M50 a good camera for a college student or should I get one of the more expensive cameras?
The M50 is good, small and light and is easier to bring with you. The 90D has a better sensor but if you want those features, then the M6mkii will give you the 90D sensor in a smaller and more compact body. Hope that helps.
For me, the three reasons to get the 90D were: lenses, lenses, and lenses. I already had 5 EF and EF-S lenses. In addition the articulating screen is important to me. I would guess the M6 would feel more awkward with my big Sigma 150-600 lens.
@@TechGearTalk I believe in hitting the limits of my gear before i upgrade but i do like to plan ahead and this would be perfect after my pair of SL2's as i move to 4K (I wasn't going for that until they removed the 4K crop)
No problem, you have very good videos, everyone is watching because of that! Btw, you mentioned about a speedbooster for the m6 Mark 2, is there also one for canon 90d?
Hi Angelo. No, there isn't a speedbooster for the 90D because those lenses already fit that 90D and you can't move them farther away from the sensory. Does that make sense?
I have 80D for couple of years now Love it the colors are the best but I also have Bmpcc6k and comparing the quality is a lot better. My favorite camera is still Canon 80D for easy of use autofocuse and colors.
And that's how you make a deep review about this two cameras! :O a little concern about the speedbooster of kamlite or viltrox... I saw a lot of videos where they talked about the blurriness and lack of definition on the edges... Is there a way yo fix this (finer lenses or dime configuración?) Thank you in advance and congrats for the excellent content
I’m looking to get a new primary for rocket launch photography. Great video as I’ve established these 2 cameras to be my final choice! The kicker for the M6 Mk2 is it’s battery life. I need the camera to take 500+ photos on a single battery, and I don’t want to continuously swap. On the other hand, being able to see the proper exposure during a launch is critical for getting the right shot in camera. What camera would you bring with you to a rocket launch? (I’m pairing with a Tamron 600mm lens [with EF adaptor if I get the M6])
Since you actually want the M6MK2 and the battery life is the issue - watch this: ruclips.net/video/TOpsG_jlEbU/видео.html (there is a similar solution for the m6mkii - you can shoot all day)
Tech Gear Talk This second video looks great! Especially the last one 😁 ... thanks for taking the time to create such good content. ... the big question remains ... if you were going to video a rocket launch, which camera would you use?
Hi Dustin, that is not a specific enough use case to make a difference. Any new camera would work well. The M6MKII would work perfectly with the proper lenses. Consider how far you'll be from the subject and what you're trying to capture. M6MKII has a pretty fast burst rate which is nice.
Tech Gear Talk sounds great! Your are right, with cameras this good, it comes down to the glass. I will actually be renting a 90D for the next launch I can make, and testing it out. I’ll most likely get the M6 Mk2 unless the 90D blows me away with its elements that would differ from the M6.
Hi, both would give you virtually identical image quality. You can get fantastic cinematic footage with both. I really like these lenses for the M6ii ruclips.net/video/uORT1dfeS0M/видео.html
So I’m enjoying your videos. I am wanting to get a camera for filming wildlife and landscapes. I want to keep it below 1500. I’m torn between the Cannon M6 Mark 2 and the Sony A6400. Please help point me in the right direction.
Hi Ian - some thoughts. Do you need/want a built-in EVF? shoot in LOG? a touch screen? Here is the full comparison: ruclips.net/video/0UKL-Frb_fM/видео.html let me know if you have any questions.
@@TechGearTalk I've watched the review, the EVF is not a big deal. I just want to take photos of family pets, birds at the bird feeders and some landscape shots. Maybe something with a decent auto focus. There just seems to be so much information I'm getting buyers paralysis.
If you're in the US and will buy it with a lens, you'll get the EVF. I would get that camera with a kit lens, and then consider getting 1 or 2 of these ruclips.net/video/uORT1dfeS0M/видео.html (they are amazing)
Really need your opinion. I have the M50 with full rig from your other video. I love it. I have sigma efm lenses, and speed booster with 50mm and Sigma 18-35 Art lens. I need to buy a second camera. I don't care if the M50 becomes the secondary, or is used as my primary. These are the two cameras I CAN'T decide upon. Since I already have a small mirrorless should I grab the 90D, which would work with my 2 EF lenses. Or get the M6 which would share all the lenses I use already. If you were building a RUclips channel, which would give me the most versatility. Having M50 + 90D. Or the two M's, M50 + M6ii. Which way would you lean. I've never had a dslr so might be good to have both available. Or, keep it mirrorless with the two Ms. I'm so stuck. Looking for an expert to give me thoughts on what they would do. That's all.
Hi Joe. I would probably get the m6mkii because you can share all of your lenses. The 90D has better battery life, but you can get a coupler for the m6mkii. Other than that, I don't see what the 90D provides you (because you don't need weather sealing, you don't need a headphone jack, etc.). Thoughts?
@@TechGearTalk I've been thinking, I already have a compact mirrorless for when I need compact. I adore the M50. But a lot of my projects will involve travel and unknown climates. And I don't want to get LOCKED into the EFM mount camera line. I already intend to buy quite a few EF lenses anyway, for the M50/Speedbooster, I think I wanna try the 90D. I'm really LOVING filming and photography, and I think having both will be nice. If not for the learning experience alone. I have a small mirror-less BEAST, so having a regular size DSLR with weather sealing and native EF mount might be the best of both worlds. And while i Love the M6, I cannot get around the flip up screen and cold shoe/EVF/Screen problem. Sure I could cage it out, but I already have a rigged out M50 that I adore. Thanks for the advice, the M6 is awesome, but I think having a DSLR with battery grip, native EF mount, and weather sealing feels right! I think they are going to compliment each other well. EF lenses I buy can be thrown on the M50/Speedbooster when needed. And I already own the best of the EFM lenses for my M50. Maybe I'm wrong and i'll regret it, but it feels right. Plus i've never had a DSLR so why not.
That makes sense to me. The 90D is a fantastic DSLR - I can't see you regretting it. Thanks so much for sharing your process and for always supporting your channel!
Great Video gets me closer to pulling the trigger! I currently have an old Canon 50D with several of the Canon EF-S lenses. I am really torn between the 90D and M6. I travel often and like the M6 due to the weight but 90 D I already have native lenses. Decisions Decisions Decisions
Thanks Jevon! both are great, you could always use the m6mk2 with an adapter, which somewhat defeats the purpose of the smaller body, but these are really nice ef-m options: ruclips.net/video/uORT1dfeS0M/видео.html Let me know what you decide. Thanks for supporting the channel!

What's up everyone?!
Yes, you can store it with the lens on - that's what I do with all my cameras.
Can the 90d shoot video in shutter priority ?
Do you have a link to the comlight/calmlight speedbooster adapter for the M6 MK2 and a link to the correct Sigma lens'? Thanks!
Hi, I need your help, you are the best reviewer ever, I need to choose between 90D & M6, for slow motion, I want to shoot (FHD with120fps), which one is better? or if you recommend a third one?
Your reviews are excellent, in depth and detail with no time wasting talking. Im so glad there is a youtuber like you!👍
That is so kind of you to say. Appreciate you taking the time to leave feedback. 🙏
Who are the '41' people who disliked this? Unbelievable. This was an extraordinary comparison. Thank you, sir!
Definitely one of my top favorite RUclipsrs. You deserve more subscribers than what you have. Great video as always!
Thank you so much for all the support. Appreciate you sharing it with anyone that may be interested 👊
I appreciate that! 🙏 Glad you enjoyed it.
Great review, can you please suggest.
Which camera would you suggest for Tech related video recording 90D or Sony A7iii?
Dude hands down you make the best in-depth review videos. Love the channel man.
Thanks so much. Appreciate you.
Super interested in your thoughts once you start using it - thank stop by and share (here or on TW or IG)
hows the stabilization for people who want to vlog and walk around? the 90d
@@Oregonbackyardhomestead so when walking and vlogging with the 90D it wasn’t shaky?
Which one would you recommend for car photography? I currently have Canon 60d + Sigma 35mm f1.4 and Canon 50mm f1.8.
If you're going to stick with Canon, the 90D is an awesome DSLR option!
@@TechGearTalk I really like your set up it's super sharp and deal. That's the look I'm hoping to get can you do a video use the 90D as your main set up camera ?
Thank you :) I will see try to do one.
What an amazing, very detailed review! You do a really great job of breaking things down into categories and explaining the stuff that actually matters. It’s tough deciding between two awesome cameras but I think I’m leaning more towards the 90D mainly because of its build. Thank you!
I purchased the 90D and so far I am really enjoying it. This was a great review I would recommend it to anybody looking to buy their next camera.
Congrats Daryl - it really is a fantastic camera. Appreciate the kind words and support!
hows the stabilization for people who want to vlog and walk around?
I greatly appreciate it!
hows the stabilization for people who want to vlog and walk around? the 90d
So concise and to the point reviews you give man. Keep doing what you're doing. Also I'm going to buy 90d soon for my wedding works😬
Tech Gear Talk so for monitoring exposure and focus, its enough right? Damn wish sony has it.. does the touch to focus work too?
Yes, you can monitor to focus and yes you can touch to focus. I don't know what's taking Sony so long - it's software!
No worries, it can still be helpful, depending on your setup
I work from home and am used to spending most of the day with our dogs - thank you for noticing and checking in 🙏
We rescued a new dog - Jack. He's 1/2 miniature Australian Shepard and a few other breeds. He's a great dog and has helped cheer us up.
The 90D hands down! Thanks for your review.
Mr. Tech Gear Talk, thank you for this YT vid. canon comparison...Your ease of delivery of the information and how you simplify the subject matter makes your vid a pleasure to watch and to learn from. I will be watching...more...vids. I will also be advising the home world of you channel. Lol.

Thank you Adrian! I used the 22mm F/2 for those shots. Hope that helps!
You're very welcome - I will make some more M50 videos very soon!
Is it still worth buying the canon 90d in 2021?? Please suggest 🙏❤️
I’m trying to figure out whether I should just take the cheaper option and go with the 6D Mark one or just pay more money and buy the 90 or Mark to
Very helpful video! Love it! I do miss your bloopers though, pls add them next time 🙏😘
Thanks Dor. I did this whole thing with no mistakes 😉
I am looking to purchase for sports action shots. What lens would you suggest?
I'm trying to decide just this right now, so this was very very helpful. Thanks. Always great information from you.
Just ordered the 90D, should have it by Friday! Thanks for the review, confirmed my choice

Great review thanks......still can't decide waaaaaaaaa.
If only one of them had no record limit!
that might do it for me...gotta keep on lookin'
Thank you so muc 🙏🏻 You'll probably want the a6400 then... ruclips.net/video/38pwAzmtEQ0/видео.html
I know. So frustrating lol.
Main reason why I keep going back to look at the a6600 from Sony smh. But I love Canon's colors too.
Fantastic review, I dunno which to go for but thanks for the in depth review all the best Lee
I appreciate the kind words, Lee. Thank you for being part of the channel!
Thanks. Ray
Very true! I'm very much looking forward to seeing how that combo works for you. Have you played around with it?
Excited to see it. Right back at your and your loved ones 🙏
Super glad to hear you're loving the 90D Matt. I'm very curious to see what Canon does to the EOS R next. (please include 1080p 120fps )
@@TechGearTalk yeah a good question.
Just wanted to let you know I have been following you with this account for a long time and today I noticed that I had to follow you again and this has happened with a few people I follow just found that weird since I had not been seeing your latest content in a bit and wanted to see your opinion on this 6D mark II and noticed this just a FYI..... have a blessed day!
very helpful - have a friend who couldn’t choose. now i can help! also - i finally got my hands on the sony 1.4 g master - wow!
Awesome Tony - hopefully this helps them. Which focal length did you get?
Tech Gear Talk d’oh 😂 the 24 of course (SEL24F14GM)
Oh wow!!! Congrats brother!
Your review is best. Planning to buy m6 mark ii
I am planning to buy a canon camera for makeup photoshoot. Please suggest a camera for me.
I want your advice 90d or M6
this is the first camera for me
thank you in advance bro
I mainly shoot photography. Is the 90d also good with action shots?
I want to buy eosm6m2 for wild life and sports and using my ef Lance 300mm 4l is usm. This camera will work properly with canon adopter with out decreasing image quality. Please guide me
I really appreciate your efforts. I watched lots of RUclips videos to determine which camera is perfect for me. I decided after watching your video. Thank you so much for this excellent informations.
You are very welcome - I'm so glad it was helpful! Thank you for the kind words, for joining and supporting the channel 🙏
what would be the best camera for sports? i have a rebel t5 with a 75mm and 200mm lens and am looking for a new camera. preferrably under 1000 bucks.
The M6II will shoot faster in burst mode (you'll need an adapter f course - for the lenses).
If you don't need to stick with Canon, something like the a6400, or even the a6100 would do a good job.
@@TechGearTalk thank you
You're very welcome - glad I could help.
You're very welcome. I'm so excited for you to get that camera. Let me know what you get it!!!
Which would be better for BIF photography?
Loving your reviews! Out of curiosity, what camera are you using for your own videos?
Which camera (between these two) would you recommend for vlogger and youtube vids?
I'd get the M6mkii (smaller, lighter, more portable) and check out these lenses: ruclips.net/video/uORT1dfeS0M/видео.html Hope this helps!
There is a 1/8000svs1/4000s shutter speed difference. Is it a big advantage for 90D?
Great video, thank you for making this. Subscribed! Still very hard for me to decide, shooting mostly video I'm concerned with the stabilization. Is the M6 mk ii easier to find a gimbal for?
Thank you. The m6ii is definitely lighter and easier to handle on a gimbal. I even used it with this: ruclips.net/video/UrKfZuEYUC8/видео.html but would consider this: ruclips.net/video/urugXDg3hnM/видео.html for more versatility.
Good to see channel growing steadily. Not surprising given the quality of the content. But Ross Gellar is a natural in front of the camera 😃
WE WERE ON A BREAK!!!
Appreciate having you as part of the community for so long 🙏
Really great overall comparison, very well done video sir. Thank you. Subscribed. 🇺🇸
Thank you for another excellent review! I’ll probably go with the M6 Mark II since I already have the 5D Mark IV and the 5DS-R. Keep up the good work, really enjoy your channel!
Appreciate you being part of the channel! I love that 5DS-R too
The M6MKII will have faster burst shooting which you might really like.
@@TechGearTalk oh yes, I would love that thank you!
Appreciate the feedback!
For anyone considering the M6 Mark ii (like I was) do research "M6 mark ii shutter shock". May not be of significance to your usage but it is a con that is hardly mentioned anywhere.
Which of the two has better 4k video quality?
I keep hearing the 4k on the M6 is very soft
Is it the same on both cameras?
Thanks much for your videos!
Hi. 4K video is the same (same sensor, same processor). People are greatly overreacting. The 4K is not oversampled from 6K like the Sony, but to say that it's "very soft" is a little much. It was plenty good for my uses, but if your number one priority is sharpness (mine is not) then there are better options. Thank you so much for the kind words 🙏 hope this is helpful.
@@TechGearTalk It's VERY helpful, thanks so much!
Cheers
Glad I could help 👊
I'm currently using the 77D with the Tamron 150-600mm g1 for wildlife photography. I'm thinking about getting the M6ii with an adapter to use with this lens. Do you know if AF is fast and accurate with this setup or should I stick with the 77D?
Hi. I have not tried the exact setup, but the m6ii AF is super fast so I would expect outstanding results. Plus you'll get the additional megapixels for when you want to crop
In your opinion, won't the af points in the 90d view finder track action---sports, pets, birds in flight much better and faster than the live view focus system?
Hi, Can you please tell me which memory card to use for Canon m6 ll , For video shooting in 4K ?
I didn't know if there is an audio level monitor on screen while recording on M6 mark II. Is it exist on M50 also?
M50 does not have it, but M50 MK II does.
Plz Compare Canon Eos 90D Vs Canon Eos 6D mark ii which one should be bought ???
That's what this video is.
For me, the three reasons to get the 90D were: lenses, lenses, and lenses. I already had 5 EF and EF-S lenses. In addition the articulating screen is important to me. I would guess the M6 would feel more awkward with my big Sigma 150-600 lens.
I'd kill for a 90D but i can wait to pull in the funds to afford it in 6mths or so
It's so impressive Mossie - you create great stuff as is 👊
@@TechGearTalk I believe in hitting the limits of my gear before i upgrade but i do like to plan ahead and this would be perfect after my pair of SL2's as i move to 4K (I wasn't going for that until they removed the 4K crop)
The crop was just so penalizing.
Only significant advantage of M6II over 90D is compact size
Otherwise 90D is the way to go for.!
Wish M6II had RF mount.!
@@TechGearTalk
Can you compare Viltrox vs Commlite speedbooster.?
Please.!
what did you use to record this video
I think you make the best camera comparison videos!!! Great work 👍
I really appreciate you taking the time to watch and for the kind words Angelo! 🙏
Great video! A comparison between the 90D and the RP would be awesome ^^
Thanks Daniel! That video is coming!
Tech Gear Talk Can we expect it before christmas 😄?
I will do my best. That's really soon though, so probably not going to get it finished by then
@@TechGearTalk Still waiting hahaha
Awesome reviews❤..... Can't appreciate you enough for the efforts you put in each video. Truly professional👍👍☺
Thanks so much Felix - I'm grateful to have you as part of the community 🙏
I have 80D for couple of years now Love it the colors are the best but I also have Bmpcc6k and comparing the quality is a lot better. My favorite camera is still Canon 80D for easy of use autofocuse and colors.
Is the 90d a good camera to shoot wedding videos and music videos and short cine videos?
Absolutely! ruclips.net/video/rg1dqcjDpSo/видео.html Thanks for being part of the channel!
How is 6 mark 2 for head wedding?
I really like it for photos unless you need an external flash and a viewfinder at the same time.
Could Canon fix the Viewfinder Eye detect with a firmware update ? what are the live view screens like in bright sunlight
sir i want to buy the canon 90d . Is this camera is worth or not?
plz share ur opnion
It's a fantastic camera - no doubt. Question about value is personal. Are you making money with the camera? Or is it just for fun?
@@TechGearTalk if I dont make money with the camera, which will be best for me?
And that's how you make a deep review about this two cameras! :O a little concern about the speedbooster of kamlite or viltrox... I saw a lot of videos where they talked about the blurriness and lack of definition on the edges... Is there a way yo fix this (finer lenses or dime configuración?) Thank you in advance and congrats for the excellent content
Well, you are adding an optical element to the lens, so some reduction in quality is expected but the benefits outweigh the cost in my opinion.
@@TechGearTalk thanks i will really consider the speedbooster!
Glad I could help! 👍
That's a good move Dustin! Let me know how it works!!
Hi Sagi - is the Dual Pixel working on 4k? It doesn't work on the M50 which I think is one of the biggest drawbacks. Thanks for your contributions.
Absolutely. It works in 4K for both of these. (Agree about the m50).
What would you suggest in shooting cinematics?
Hi, both would give you virtually identical image quality. You can get fantastic cinematic footage with both. I really like these lenses for the M6ii ruclips.net/video/uORT1dfeS0M/видео.html
Best for short Flim taking canon m50 or 200d? Mark 2
Hi there, here is my comparison: ruclips.net/video/AM9thPT_IVE/видео.html Let me know if you have any questions.
@@TechGearTalk Well I decided on the Sony A6400. It arrives tomorrow. Hopefully I made the right choice. I like that there are a lot of lens choices.
CONGRATS Ian!!! It's a great camera.
Thanks so much for sharing your process and for always supporting your channel!
thanks Gear talk, properly guide me, and Erase my confusion at this point now i am going with 90D after using 80D. again tnx
so glad this video was helpful! You are going to love the 90D coming from the 80D. It will feel so "right" in your hands.
