  • I installed this JL Audio MicroSub+ ACP112LG-TW1 and it sounds pretty damn good. I purchased this to add some extra bass to the factory system. I wanted something that will hit nice without taking up lots of space. The all in one design is what really sold me on this and it's JL Audio, you really can't go wrong.

I'd HIGHLY recommend putting a rubber grommet where you ran the wire through the back seat area to the trunk. It WILL... and I repeat... It WILL cut through the wire and short to the car and can cause electrical damage to a myriad of electrical components in your car, or worse case, start a fire. PLEASE do that. I've had that wire short on me before. Vibrations from the sub and the car will make the metal a saw

Great video. One tip from a fellow 10th Gen Accord owner, if you want to see a significant improvement in bass response, tap the sound from the FRONT speakers. The Accord factory EQ SIGNIFICNT:Y reduces low frequency output for the rear speakers. I know it is MUCH easier to tap the rear speaker for the signal and that is what I did initially on my install of the Rockford Fosgate version of the "all in one". I was very disappointed with the sound and did a ton of research until I discovered the difference in the signal output between the front and rear speakers. I switched to tapping the signal from the front speakers and it makes a HUGE difference. You don't need to dial in nearly as much gain to get great sound.
Please trust me as I learned the hard way. If you love it now you will be blown away after the change.

I thought too do that as well but purchased the kicker key 500.1 and installed it and ran the 2 download tones too clean out the sig al and add the missing power and base and it worked!!! I'm so excited. I tapped into the rears as well. I guess the dsp built into the kicker key amp cleaned the signal and added the missing bass.

Pro tip: you need to set the input sensitivity. You have it set at max! I can hear it clipping already.
    Input Sensitivity Level Setting
Follow the steps below to adjust the input sensitivity of the amplifier to achieve overall system balance.
    1) Turn off or set to center all processing (bass/ treble, loudness, EQ, etc.) on the source unit. Set the source unit’s fader control to center position and its subwoofer level control (if applicable) to 3⁄4 of maximum.
    2) Turn the amplifier’s “Input Sensitivity” control to the “Min.” position.
    3) While playing a dynamic audio track, increase the head unit volume until the subwoofer output distorts. Then, reduce the volume by one step (or until the subwoofer’s output is no longer distorted).
    4) Increase the “Input Sensitivity” until the subwoofer output is distorted.
    5) Reduce the “Input Sensitivity” slightly until the subwoofer output is no longer distorted.
    6) Listen to the overall system and adjust the “Input Sensitivity” downward if the subwoofer output requires attenuation to achieve the desired system balance.

I turned it down its at 3/4 now and hits harder than it did once it broke in. Camera couldn't pick up all the sound. But never did it break-up or distort. During that video

@@lundonclark1221 All an LC2i allows you to do is take a amplified signal from a factory amp or head unit and turn to a useable signal to amplify. On this sub, It has a high level input and that is basically the same thing because you can set the input gain to bring it down to a useable signal for your amp.
So you don't need a lc2i if you are running pretty much any powered subwoofer box as most of them have high level inputs built into them. But if you are plugging into an after market amp that doesnt have a high level input. Thats when the Lc2i would come in handy

    • @jbmjbm323
      @jbmjbm323 6 месяцев назад

Depends on the amplifier used, His JL combo has a built in LOC which he connected that in the high input connector. If your amp does not have high inputs, then it is best to get those line output connectors to help improve adjust the speaker signal to an amp. So the shop telling you that it is better to have a LOC, well that is somewhat true. If the speaker signal is too high, LOC's will help to improve it and clean out the signal.

Rather than tapping into the wires, I put spade connectors into the stock clips. I have it set on DC but when it is on signal it seems much louder. The problem is when I turn my car off, the sub still picks up signal and will just start going crazy and it’s way louder than when it’s actually playing music. Any idea what this could be?
