Other common issue I encountered when helping the guys in my area: 1) Increase steering EPA for both side but wheels still doesn't steer much. Reason because gyro end point was set too little, which limit the steering. 2) Moving the gyro and servo from chassis A to chassis B and NOT redoing the end points.
THANK YOU! my rtr yokomo rd 1.0 had the end points stock completely messed up so i was wondering why it was so snappy and so hard to drive compared to someone elses also stock rtr car at my local track, cant wait to see if that fixed it

@@RoadsideRC thanks for the input. I went with the 550 but was looking at the 470 too just because its a newer release. Just waiting on a reciever to run it off my 7px.
@@RoadsideRC hey so now i got my new r334sbs-e and gyd 550. Trying to connect it to my 7px i just cant figure it all out. It says its for futaba digital servos only....is that true? I have a digital ecopower servo currently
In this video (ruclips.net/video/JASMtH1Igvc/видео.html) I have a section where I am setting up a DX5 with this car. Honestly - my experience is that Spektrum electronics seem to not work well with most drift gyros/servos. Not really sure why.
The wheels.come back very smooth when you move it left or right. Is this because of the servo or gyro? My servo is Injora probably analog. Gyro is hackslider (not the mini version) and it doesnt go back to nuetral nearly as nice
Hi Troy, loving your channel as I drift on carpet with a rwd mst what kg do you recommend as I'm thinking of getting a agf b44dlm V2 15kg, kind regards, Jason
Hi there! For drifting, KG isn't really that important. The cars are very lightweight, turning very small tires. What is more important is the quality of the servo. My go-to servo is this one: bit.ly/47AEXK2 But have also had good luck from the AGFRC drift-specific servo: amzn.to/3IawuD2
i have the powerhd smart gyro, I cant use the gyro nor the servo, If i have the servo connected to the gyro the gyro gets power but it doesn’t initiate and the servo doesn’t move at all. ive flipped the connectors multiple times… Do i need a transmitter with 3 ch? Im using a 2ch transmitter with a 3ch transmitter
I just bought the yokomo v4 and I’m having a lot of wheel shake no matter what I do to the car, I have a feeling this could be remote issue but tbh I don’t have any idea why it’s shaking, could that be on the servos part? Any help please👏👏
Here is a guide on that gyro specifically. Perhaps you see something you can try. ruclips.net/video/RGg2N61qZjc/видео.html Your gyro gain and other gyro settings are important to reduce wobble. Also - the car alignment, slop in the linkages, etc can have an influence.
@@RoadsideRC I’ve also gone both ways with the gain and still nothing, could my gyro be mounted backwards? Cause I’m watching the video again incase I missed something and i noticed that gyro is a different direction than mine, when the front end is towards me I can read it, but the gyro in the video is towards the motor
@steviegames855 When you watch this video - I give you a few things to watch for to see if your gyro is working correctly - such as ability to turn it off and if the gyro operation direction is the same. Are those correct?
@@RoadsideRC when I try to turn the gain off on the actual gyro it doesn’t turn off, and I don’t have a higher end remote to do it from the remote, and I had to put the gyro into reverse to get the correct steering, and I have my end points set already but I can’t drive straight without the front wheels shaking and not like in the video yours is atleast driveable with that wobble, my car is undriveable with the amount of wobble I have
I have a mst rmx 2.0 as a starter for drifting but after my servo broke down and I had to switch to a savox black edition 1251mg but after switching to the new servo my drift car doesn't drift anymore. Every time I pull in the throttle the care just spins in circle instead of going forward and initiating the drift when I turn. I didn't touch anything else beside moving the gyro to the middle because the connection wire to the gyro from the servo was to short so I had to move it. Do you know what could be the problem or is it because of my gyro isn't working right. My gyro is a stock one from the box and still turns when I lift it and move it around.
@RoadsideRC I am using the AGFRC 15.5KG Low-Profile servo and I have a hpi tf-41 remote that I had laying around. The gyro worked once and I didn't set my endpoints and burned out my servo not sure if I burned the gyro up either it lights up and works just lockes everything up
Unfortunately, I have never used that specific radio. I also have had really bad luck with Spektrum radios and drifting. They seem to not want to cooperate. Try to find a specific channel on the radio that you can discretely control. Then hook the gyro to that channel.
Man I have a Yokomo rtr there’s no option to reverse the gyro on the gyro or the transmitter. There’s a button on the gyro but it doesn’t do anything at all? Even if I press it when the car is on, nothing happens. My gyro and steering were reversed after I did a yeah racing slide rack install and now I can’t get my gyro to go back to normal. I didn’t even touch the thing, why would it have gotten reversed at all??
Unfortunately, the factory gyro is really bad. When you did the slide rack mod, it reversed the mechanism of the steering - which means you need to change the steering and gyro direction. Your options are to (1) upgrade controller, gyro, and servo or (2) put the steering system back to the original setup.
@@RoadsideRC yeah i think I’ll just go the route of upgrading for now. I was able to reverse steering thru factory settings but gyro still won’t budge. Some fellas on Reddit said if you mount it upside down it will work and I tested that. It does work, so I guess I can just mount it upside down on the upper deck until I can afford new parts. Thanks for the reply man I know this is an old video kinda.
Hard to say exactly from your message. Need more details on what was happening. (1) Typically, if your end points are set too wide, it can allow the steering to over-travel. (2) Did you center the servo, with the power on, before installing the servo horn?

Yeah - MANY of the drift electronics don't play well with Spektrum controllers.
