I just picked up my mst 2.5s last friday and have already used your video as a suggestion for changing the settings on the stock gyro. I like that the steering doesnt slap back to center now after changing the setting. thanks!
Really - smart money starts with the MST RTR. It does well straight out of the box...and if you don't like it, they hold their value for resale very well.
Love the videos man, learning a lot. When you adjusted you the gyro to slow down the servo, the red light on the gyro keeps blinking but the servo is working slower now, is the blinking red led normal?
I apologize. It has been awhile since I did this, so don't fully remember. I believe blinking = gyro sees input. After a power off/on, I believe it is solid when sitting still. But - my memory is not great anymore.
Awesome review, what do recommend a better gyro? I am wondering the same thing if my gyro is good enough (cheap AFRC-gys-2 V3) or buy a specific expensive brand.
That's exactly the same Gyro in my RTR MST RMX 2.0 GT-R r35 and I run it with out changing any settings for it, had some Gyro wobbles and really sensitive as it comes from the Box, I'm going to unplug the adjust wire and do the potentiometer manuel adjustments, use chan 3 for my light control... Gave you and my localish Drift community a Shout in the last Video Thank's for the help ✌🤠👍 HFLPRCing =Having Fun Laughing Playing and RCing 👍😎👍 AOAH =Association of Addicted Hobbiest 🙏 SSPH =Stay Safe and Play Healthy My Friend 💯🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁
Yes - this is the gyro that comes in the RTR. It is MUCH better than the LSDx that used to come in the RTR, however there are still some better ones on the market. Thanks for the shoutout!
I run this gyro with reved rs-st servo, and its fine no gyro wobble in any speed, and its Very smooth it likes to keep big angles, seems too easy to control. I run it on normal mode, avcs is too slow for me.
First - check to ensure the batteries are fresh. Second - try to re-bind the controller to the receiver. Sometimes they will lose connection. If neither of these work, most likely there is some issue that needs a replacement.
Yeah, my MST RMX 2.0 came with the LSDx and it was pretty bad. Upgraded to the Yokomo DP-302 V4 and it was a night and day difference. Even w/o any other upgrades the car felt so much better and stable in drift.
@@barrykennedy9379 yes, indeed I did, I opted for the ReveD RS-ST servo that I swapped out at the same time as I changed the gyro. At this point there are no more stock MST electronics in my RMX 2.0 left, and it drives like a dream.
I watched your video and 👍. Im told there are heading hold vs. rate hold gyro. My vendetta car runs straight as an arrow. On installed this, and doesn't do the same. Then futaba sells one for $80. 🫤
Thanks man! I had no idea about the other setting on the MST!
Glad to help!
Thank you so much for this! I was going nuts thinking I was missing something. But your video was straight forward and gave me a ton of information.
Glad to help!!

I'm really glad you're doing these tests because I want to get into drifting but don't want to spend big incase I don't like it

@@RoadsideRC thanks that seems to be the way I'm going
Hey Troy thank you so much for all your help
Glad to help!
Thanks bro..very helpful..but im wondering the different for normal and AVCS on drifting feel? i have a rmx 2.5
That is a good question.
It is hard to put into words. Sorry.

Wow, that’s a nice working gyro
Very helpful. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!

The Futaba GYD450 and ReveD Revox are both my current favorite gyros, and make a big difference.
@@RoadsideRC thanks

Amazing! Keep it up. Do you know what battery is best to use in drift rc's?
Here is a video I did on that:

interesting gyro upgrade mate
*A big like👍Au👀full view every time*
Thanks Billy!

Interesting, as that is the exact same servo I used in this test!
I'm asking for help Now the MST remote can't connect, do you have a way?
First - check to ensure the batteries are fresh.
Second - try to re-bind the controller to the receiver. Sometimes they will lose connection.
If neither of these work, most likely there is some issue that needs a replacement.
Can you help me? I held down the MOD button for 4 seconds to flip the gyro. But what causes gyro and non-inverting?
It should have reversed the gyro operation. Did it not?
@@RoadsideRC Yes, I tried holding down the mod button for 4 seconds and it didn't work.
what is a good cheap motor esc combo?
Here you go:

What if I where to put this on my 4 Tec?
An AWD car does not need one.
Muito bom
Power HD G1 that price point.
Yes - if they truly are basically the same gyro, then why not get the cheaper one?

Such a difference!
You must have upgraded the stock servo aswell, because the mst stock servo is not able to keep ip with that gyro an will just burn out

Yes! A drift gyro and a drag racing gyro are two VERY different products!
@@RoadsideRC thanks. I learned something today
