I just recently got into this hobby and absolutely love it! I'm surprised more people aren't into it nor do they know it exists. I'm subscribing to every Drift RC channel I come across because we all are doing something awesome! I just recently started posting YT Shorts of my drifting adventures and would love for you to join me! I'm going to build my very own track in my garage and will be posting videos on the progression of it. Looking forward to you joining me!
Yo I feel the same way!!!! Hope you get drifting asap! I just got my first drift rig yesterday now I’m just getting everything all set up so hyped! Check out super g drift track if you haven’t it’s amaaaazzzzziiinnnngggg!
I have the Mst TR56 shocks and I have drilled the holes from 3 to 6.stock pistons have the extra holes premarked, I am using a Sakura D4. I had the yhea racing 55mm before mst and I can tell you it's night and day. From what I can see your rear doesn't give you forward "push" and it has sudden reactions due to not fast compression of the damper. Also using the stock oil 300 makes things worse. If you see my videos are all with the mst alloy tr56 and I am using 0 to 10 oil at the most. I and I think most of the people prefer a damper which has almost no resistance and adjust the behavior only by spring. Just my advice, nice video my friend!
Hi Caleb! It's our Field Bench! We make and sell them in the USA! You can check them, and accessories for them, here: theturtlelab.com/collections/field-bench
I have a rmx 2.0 kit that I just finished building, just about the same build xd10 esc,10.5t hobbywing, power hd R12 servo, power hd G1 Gyro an flysky gt5. Waiting on carbon fiber chassis this night, just getting into drifting enjoying the content that put out keep them coming.
@@turtlelaboratories haven't driven it yet still waiting on parts super excited to get to finally drive it. But if possible can you explain how to tune the gyro with FlySky GT5 not many videos out there drifting.
When you closed the shocks a mistake was made! Push downwards with your right hand the plastic top balljoint holder and the membrane while turning with the other hand the cap that fastens them together! That way you have significantly fewer possibilities for air inside the shock thus more consistent behavior of the vehicle! Also and air remover can help in this situation ! I am racing modified 10th scale so mistakes like that cost a lot !
I have a very very similar build to this, initially got the rtr 2.0 and went with a yokomo spd 02 servo, v4 gyro, acuvance agile 10.5, acuvance xavis esc and the same carbon chassis but i was worried about roasting the diff with the added power but have a really tame tune right now so i think i might be okay because i drive on slick indoor tracks not carpet so a lot less strain on everything
Sounds like you have a pretty epic build! I actually roasted my diff with my 13.5T no boost/turbo setup on smooth concrete. When I was building the kit, I thought it would fail, too. They even specify, in the manual, that you super glue part of the diff! I already have the spur gearbox on order, and can't wait to install it, just for a peace of mind.
@@turtlelaboratories good to know! i’ll probably end up getting the ball diff kit and hope that will save me from roasting it. I love how the car feels right now but now i know that diff just won’t last

Don't be intimidated! There is a lot to learn, as far as settings go. There aren't many parts to them, though, and getting one going isn't too difficult. If you are afraid of building one, don't shy away from a an RTR (ready to run) car!
@@atypical_blk_guy I know this comments old but I bought an RTR version of what is in the video and it’s great. Learning on it and then I’ll upgrade once I get dialed in
The power hd d12 steering servo can that be used with the stock gyro and transmitter. I played with mst rmx 2.0 for like 3 hours and already broke the gears in the steering servo im having trouble finding a replacement.
If you are referring to the RMX 2.0 RTR, it should work great with it. If you are having trouble locating a servo, a solid performer is this Trackstar servo: amzn.to/3UOtT6l
It's Vibra-tite blue thread locker. I put it on all metal to metal contact, to prevent the fasteners from backing out. I've got a link to it in the description!
Thank you! It was two rolls of 12' wide carpet, cut 15' long. We found it at a local discount store, "Ollie's". You can probably find something similar at a carpet supplier. It's just cheap commercial carpeting.
I have never touched or seen one of these drift cars in person. But the simple fact that are so pimped out - may need to get my hands on one of these to build up as a shelf queen... :) What would people recommend?
Hey Bert! You may want to build one as a shelf queen, but once you drive one, you will want to build more of them! Honestly, after building this MST RMX, I love it, but I would have been better off with a Yokomo. I am about to replace my diff again, just so I don't fry it again during a drift session, and I feel I shouldn't need to do that, and the other upgrades that I had to do to bring up to be equal with a stock YD-2S.
That's all going to come down to personal preference. I've ran both, and personally like the snappiness of a 10.5t. With that said, I only drive recreationally.
Hi I was wondering if you could give me some advice on what carpet I should use for rc drifting I’m trying to start a club at a college I go to and I wanted to use carpet because they won’t lent me use drift cars in there floors I’m doing a lot of research and I want to hear your thoughts on it any suggestions is helpful and anyone can comment on this Please and thank you
What you want is thin, cheap, grey, commercial carpet. If you go to your local hardware store, it will likely be the cheapest one. I got my carpet at a local discount store for even cheaper. The discount stores wont have endless rolls of it, though, and you will need to piece it together if you do a large track. for instance, my two pieces are 16' x 18'. Don't be upset with the venue for not wanting drift cars on the floors. The wheels are essentially sanding away at the floor, and with enough use, it could end up costing a lot to restore to the original finish. Carpet is a great way to setup a temporary track.
Thank you so much for your reply I’ll keep a look out for some cheap carpet I have high hopes for the club I’m starting and hope that everyone will enjoy the hobby as I do
Did you notice any leaks on your qutus shocks?wanted to upgrade my plastic yd2 shocks but the yokomo aluminum ones has been out of stock. Looking at the qutus shocks, it looks like a similar build and should be a good upgrade. But again the only reason I wanted to upgrade from plastic is it keeps leaking and I have to rebuild it every session.
Leave the back bone ,it’ll flex too much at speed, and the plastic and carbon bases crack or break with out it,especially in an accident or trivial swing/sweep crack against something! If you want to break anything on the car it’s that back bone that breaks first saving everything else! It’s pretty integral to most higher, hobby grade RC street, track and drift cars. This from someone with mass head on and tear end collision experience into walls and barriers! Ha!😀 seriously!
@@turtlelaboratories do you drive at a track a all? I had huge problems with my flysky cutting out and doing random things once there got to be any more than ten people drifting.
