I do feel the locked diffs on the scx give it a massive boost in traction, even if it lifts one or both front tyres, it never looses traction or drive to the rear tyres. The Xmaxx (assuming it has a centre diff setup) will loose power and traction on all 4 wheels, just by loosing traction on 1 front wheel. You could say the SCX has a distinct advantage, but really it's the Xmaxx that can't pull.
Xmaxx has 20million weight silicone center diff fluid from the factory, I have 2 million in my Kraton 6s and its basically locked up. Front/Rear diffs don't look like they matter much in this case, the only advantage is the SCX6 tires are a lot more grippy.
I'm going to say you need to tighten the nut on the input shaft to keep the slipper from slipping. Might need a little Brake Cleaner too? The SCX6 is an impressive RC. I'm loving mine. And despite the price, didn't flinch at letting a 4 year old drive it. It doesn't really fit in well on a 10th scale crawler park, but it's an awesome trail machine. Watching it drag the XMaxx around? Icing on the best cake! Thanks
X-Maxx tires aren’t super grippy on concrete. I’d like to see if 8S makes and difference with the heavier batteries and more power.

I saw someone pulling a damn Jeep Gladiator with a SCX10iii. This is not surprising at all.
Test it against a kraton 8s since it weighs more then a xmaxx. Im curious with those results

What's the motor kv and pinion size for both? Low end torque is as important as tire tread especially with off-road tires on concrete...
The motor in the scx is bigger than the xmaxx motor by a decent amount. It's as big as my leopard 5692 1340kv.
Should have the scx6 vs traxxas summit. Makes more sense the the x maxx.
Not really. scx6 is 1/6th scale and summit is 1/10th, while xmaxx is close to 1/6th.

No way a brushed summit will have a chance...
Summit is tough as nails but will loose simply because of the weight. All comes down to traction
I saw a video on this truck where he had a similar problem just about out of the box you might need to tighten something down and you should be good

Slipper clutch is loose. Mine was loose out of the box.you have to pull the transmission out to adjust the slipper clutch.
I just got my scx6 today and my transmission is blown and won’t run under its own weight !!! Highly pissed !!! Didn’t even get out of the driveway !!! Sounds like rocks inside the case !! Please let us know or make video of how you take it out and what inside plz & thx
Learn how to work on your toys. Get the manual out and get to it 👍And I doubt it's blown if you barely drove it

After spending a grand and not even using it, it should be a factory issues and not mine... as the manual says... warranty is voided if not serviced by a certified technician.. and the slipper was completely loose and nut came off after I opened it up.. but thx for your awesome advice

The wide tires gives you worse traction relative to its weight. Traction, suspension and weight are all there is to pulling.
Ahhh ya ever heard of power and torque? That makes a little bit of a difference, too..

Tony from CCxRC had the same issue with his SCX6, his came so lose that it would barley move over a rock in his unboxing video. Once he tightened it, it was all good after.

I run my Xmaxx on 6s as I was able to buy 3 3s lipo's for the price of one 4's here in Canada, and it is more then fast enough right now, and easier on the tires.

I don’t understand when people do tug of war. First off the pull point should be even. Otherwise one is pulling down to have more traction. The other one is pulling the other vehicle up for less traction. Also has a lot to do with weight and stickiness of the tires.

You messed it up by changing the gear while not moving. Your supposed to being about 1 mph and then switch gears

@@ManuelOrtizification Yeah depends how far gone they are If the aren't worn down to bad you can scuff them a bit and they will work pretty good for awhile My first hobby grade RC was a RTR 2wd Traxxas Rustler back in 99 lol I still have the original charger tires and body It had terrible turn radius and sucked on off road tracks lol Shockingly it was pretty dang good on the dirt oval track I raced on in VA called Coopers RC I've raced against Tony Stewart there Dang I miss racing 😭✌️
that's why you crank the slipper down as tight as it will go I do it on brand new slippers alot delete them on the crawlers you do gotta be more careful In the rocks but will never go bad that way👍be prepared to break something solid tho

Even before the tug of war started, I had a feeling that the scx6 was going to win 😆. The scx6 is a crawler, and crawlers have torque. The Xmaxx is a basher and therefore it's faster. Fun video either way 😄

The reason the xmaxx slipper didn’t slip mark is because it doesn’t have one lol, also you should try the xmaxx on 8s and some grippier tires and see what happens

The XMaxx does not need one. It has open center and open axle diffs to bleed off power before destroying the a gear(most of the time). The SCX6 does not, thus not only needs a slipper clutch but one that is properly adjusted. It appears to have been perfectly adjust from the factory. Tighten it too much and you WILL eventually destroy something in the drive line.
@@eric1138 it really wasn’t adjusted well in the factory because it came loose and wouldn’t barely even move in high gear
@@mavsgarage5245 With the traction it was getting on the concrete I am not surprised it slipped in high gear and good thing too. Remember, the slipper is there to save the drive line. This one time test(tug of war) on concrete in high gear is a corner use case. You will never need that much torque on the trail. It's better to have a safety factor for those times when the axles will be truly locked up.

I like the SCX6, but I think the fact that it is so large might take away some of the fun you have when wheeling with friends who are only driving 1/10 scale crawlers. When your by yourself it would be awesome, but you'd have to find larger than normal obstacles to have the same fun you have with smaller trucks
