One great use of the SCX6 is for fpv due to the stability. You don't want to have to get up from your couch and take a 5 minute walk to flip your truck back over. I'm getting 2 of these for my elderly folks, who have mobility issues. The plan is to use Caddx systems and goggles so my folks can essentially use the trucks as avatars to cruise around their rural property on fun adventures together.
I know I’m way late to this but I’ve been gaining interest 1/6 scale crawler. But man at 25lbs if it broke down on the trail 2 miles away and have to carry it back. 😮 You made some very good points on both. Thank you.
Great comparison and you present a lot of valid information, well done. I like your “both of them are good, both of them have their purposes” comment. These are both excellent crawlers and can be used in various ways. Cheers! 👍✌️
Hey, Loved it man! Really honest review..! I am planning to get my first rc crawler and was confused whether to go for SCX6 or SCX10.3. Watched your video from start to end and I made a decision..SCX10.3 for sure.. at least for now. By the way, Congratulations!!! You've just earned another subscriber!
Troy, what's happening buddy. IDK $1100.00 is a lot of doe. Now you know you aren't going to leave this thing in stock form when all the accessories start hitting the market. Who knows how much money you will end up putting into this rig. I also think portals would have been nice on this. Just my opinion. I guess if you have to be the biggest guy at the park then go for it. Comparing the 2 ? like the saying goes it's not about the size, it's about how you use it. I'll stick with my Gen8v2 with my upgrades for now & see where this big crawler market ends up. Great review & comparison.
It is cool. LHS has one to mess around with. But, for the price of the scx6, I could get 2 1/10 crawlers plus a few upgrades for each. Cool video tho, thanks
All depends on what battery you run, so there is no single answer. Of course, if you put the same battery in both trucks, the 10iii will get dramatically more run time. But I would not suggest using the same battery in the SCX6.
Looking at a few rc's as I want a new project and stumbled upon this video. I like your honesty on this rig so I subscribed. Seeing how this rig is on my list,I'm undecided as I do like this rig but I'm curious to see how much aftermarket support it gets as I saw several upgrades but not alot like the other scx10 lineup. My other thought would be how long before this rig gets discontinued as it seems everytime a company releases a 1/5 or 1/6 and even a 1/8 scale rig it doesn't last long on the market. So hopefully this will change things as I always had a soft spot for the big scale rc's.
It is hard for me to recommend this truck unless someone really wants the novelty of it, or unless you have a bunch of friends with similar sized trucks. Running it with 1/10 trucks has not been fun so far.
Yeah I definitely see your point as you do make several good ones. If the aftermarket starts supporting it and other companies get involved with the bigger scale then who knows, maybe crawler comps with start a new group. But time will tell as it took a good while for the 1/10 crawler/scale scene to really blow up. So hopefully this will open things up for a new market as axial usually paves the way for new things, especially in the crawler field.
This really isnt a good way to dona comparsion. The scx10.3 can find hundreds of tight spots the scx6 wouldnt clear. The scx6 has bigger tires and a greater ground clearance. When covering the same ground, one or the other is always at a disadvantage, but it still doesnt show which is more capable. To do this, the terrain needs to be on par with the scale of each truck. Take the first obstacle, the 6 inch ledge. Of course the sxc6 "won" that round just the same as the scx "won" driving through the covered hut. Still, my take from the video is the scx6 os just as capable and can conquer more obstacles along a trail than a scx10.3.

That is an EPIC idea! Good luck!
Perfect and honest review. My SCX6 is waiting for me at home.
Awesome! Hope you enjoy it!

Thank you for the kind words!
That was a fun video to watch. I need to make the trip up there sometime.
The SCX6 for the win for me, having so much fun with that thing!
Let us know if you make it this direction - would love to meet up with you!

Thanks! I agree - I believe most folks will be very happy with the 1/10 scale.
Nice video Troy. Perfect advice.
Glad it was helpful!
For me, my budget, available storage, and amount of room to run I have; the 10 scale is the best "weigh" to go.
Makes sense to me!
If the SCX6 was 750 it would be a different story.

Totally agree!
For me personally, I will stick with the 1/10 based on the price and capability.
Nice sharing my friend!
Have a nice day!👍4
Thank you! You too!

Great info👍

Is OK now I'm really really laughing. Seeing the absolute monster size difference is hilarious
Exactly!
The interesting thing is that when you remove the 1:10, you kind of forget about the size.
cool 😎
Thanks!
SCX6 or TRX6?
This is an Axial SCX6.
Traxxas needs to make a 1/6 scale
They just might!
The scx6 needs portal axles
I was a little surprised it didn't have them. However, due to the size, I didn't miss them at all.
Both. Just get both.
My wallet is not that big! :)
@@RoadsideRC Lol i hear that! I actually was already saving for an X-Maxx but then this got announced and bye bye X-Maxx hello SCX6!
I will keep my scx10
Probably the smart choice.

Just off cool looks.. the one u should get is a i brainer
Ok, this video made my wife force me to buy SCX6 asap! Nice!
... nah.... you know I was just kidding *sadface*
Hope you enjoy it!!!
Just so yall know that scx6 is heavy as shit lol
Ha! Yes! One major drawback if you breakdown on the trail for sure.
