    I subscribed to you guys about 3 years ago when VCG Construction had barely subscribers at all. I'm not even into construction at all I just thought this channel was funny for some reason so I subbed Idk how I even found out about this channel. Now fast forward 3 years later you guys are at 342k and its insane to see the growth of a small little channel that barely anyone in the world knew about. Wish you guys nothing but the best!!

    Years back before Dremel or anyone has an oscillating tool, Fien was out, we used to ( and still do sometimes) call these "Fein tools" and not multi tools or oscillating tools. This was a Fein, like a recip. saw is a Sawzall. We bought in on a payment plan off an infomercial in the 90s.

      I remember the infomercials, thought it was a cool new tool, but never bought one until I needed to do come baseboard/door casing work. I bought the Dremel... that was a mistake. Now I'm looking at a replacement, and even though I'm an 18v/20V Max/12V Max Dewalt guy, I'm heavily leaning towards the M12 Fuel tool. The one pro I give the Dremel, is its size. The M12 fuel with the smaller battery seems to be the same size, maybe smaller. I kinda wish Dewalt had a similar oscillating tool in their 12v max line-up, since I'm already in that line.

Since I got the Milwaukee M18 one, I use it a lot, along with my M18 vacuum so that as I cut in the rings, I suck up all the dust at the same time. No cleanup time!

    Hi Nick, im a carpenter across the pond in the UK. Love your channel and the advice is spot on.
    However, the comparison on product to value for money would change this video all together because I have used everything from green Bosch right up to Panasonic and festool and I have found that the most rugged, long lasting and power to weight ratio tooling on the market is DeWalt. I have Festool equipment sitting in my workshop whilst my van is fully loaded with the DeWalt kit.

I’m in their 18v line and while I’d admit that they don’t offer the selection of some other top tier brands(in the U.S.A), Europe actually has a wider selection, prices are high etc... they still have their place. Also people on these channels praise the starlock/ quick change style etc... and Bosch is the company that patented that. So in short they are still relevant, reliable, of good quality and I do see them making A resurgence if they can expand the 12 V line to offer as many tools as Milwaukee and Dewalt. However, its ability to do weird cuts is why a multi-tool is simply indispensable. Multi-tool has got to be one of the most useful tools invented.

    I have the Dremel 8300 for 2-3 years... I'm looking to replace it. It's got a pair of 1.3 Ah batteries, you get about 20 minutes of use,,and the body gets near scalding hot. The charger takes longer to charge a battery than it lasts in the tool. I can't believe y'all included it in the Pro/Expert category. This is an entry-level/barely intermediate user tool.

      Agreed. Dremel is higher-end DIY at best. They are owned by Bosch, but are closer to DIY Bosch green tools than professional Bosch blue tools.

    For a $100 we're talking not much difference in price might as well go with Milwaukee and you'll have something that's probably the best and it's going to last you a longtime. I have the Milwaukee M18 oscillator and I used and abused that tool daily probably one of the most used tools the size my screw gun and it still runs like brand new

    How could you not put the Ridgid JobMax up higher on the list?! I have the 18-volt version which only cost me $80 on sale and even though it's not the Octane one and it's still a beast, I got the tool free change head for it so it's super easy to change blades, also u can clip the attachment on it in 4 different directions. Not to mention it's a multitude of tools in one, I have the Roto-Zip head, the right angle drill head, the right angle 1/4" impact driver head and the Sawzall head for it! If I bought all those tools individually it would cost a fortune and take up a ton of room in my Toolbox! Imagine in addition to buying an oscillating tool that I had to buy a Ridgid Roto-Zip too $119l, a Ridgid right angle drill $139, a Ridgid one handed Sawzall $139 and a right angle impact and I'd have to buy a Milwaukee one for $149 unless I wanted to spend $204 on a makita one. And considering the most expensive attachment for my JobMax was the Sawzall attachment at $50 I think the JobMax is a killer deal and should be way up on the list since it replaces so many tools and saves you hundreds of dollars at the same time! Plus if it ever breaks it's lifetime warranties! Now don't get me wrong I have a lot of Ridgid tools but I have even more Milwaukee tools and will usually buy a Milwaukee tool over a Ridgid one but there's no denying that the JobMax is on hell of a versatile and tough ass tool and I would buy it and the attachment for it any day over buying all the Milwaukee tools that I need to replace it and all the attachments for it!

    Good evening sir. I can’t agree or disagree. I haven’t used any oscillating multi tools yet. I am curious where does the Skil Powercore fit? Vince spoke highly of their tool, especially their vibration mitigation. I’m in the Makita 18 volt platform. I’m very impressed with their tools. I only have a few currently, but I’m looking to expand. I’m strongly considering adding Milwaukee 18 volt. They have a few accessories that are very important to me. I like their power accessory that uses their batteries to power a 120 volt ( in my case medical device) and two USB ports. I’m strongly considering it plus two 12.0 Ah batteries plus a charger.

    I have the Bosch, the original Fien, and the Metabo HPT, the Metabo HPT is a mean machine. Bosch has a quicker blade change but they seem the same running them. Metabo quick blade change works well, it has never thrown a blade. Fein came out with the Starlock system, Bosch adopted it.

    • @macvos
      @macvos Год назад +1

      Bosch and Fein co-developed Starlock, but the engineering was mainly done by the Bosch department that also developed X-Lock for grinders and SDS for rotary hammers and jigsaws.
      Makita is then usually one of the first companies to adopt these new interfaces. The 'US' companies (with DeWalt originating from Germany but being American these days, and Milwaukee originating from the US but being Chinese these days) sticking to cheaper classic interfaces and trying to make the best of it.

    CORRECTION Bosch has the best blade change on the market

    • @henri6595
      @henri6595 3 года назад

      Store the batteries upstairs away from the cold and moisture. Charge the batteries to roughly 40% aka 2 bars for longterm storage. Check the batteries every month and make sure the batteries didn't drain to zero. If they did drain to zero recharge them to 2 bars and let them sit again.

    Some nice info, but do your research, man. Bosch AND Fein have invented the StarLock system. All the Fein tools have it for many years already. Bosch multitools are good, Fein are just better. The Festool multitools ( just the tools, not the accessories) - are made by Fein, actually they are Fein models in a Festool skin. You are right about the Makita - unbelievably smooth and quiet, just ridiculously big and heavy ( more like an angle grinder than a multitool). I have the Makita, Dewalt and a Fein SuperCut in my workshop. Very keen on that new small 12V Fuel Milwaukee one.

    Hey I'm confused if #1 in each category is the best or the worst for that category? For instance, in the Prosumer/DIY category, is #1 Rigid better than #2 Kobalt etc. ? That's how I think you mean it but it is confusing at times. Fein is #1? or is Bosch? Fun to watch. Thanks!

    • @macvos
      @macvos Год назад

      They mean #1 is the best although I personally don't agree with the ranking. Dremel has questionable durability and seems to be more of a higher-end DIY brand. The Bosch OMT is great, but the Fein has better vibration control with the 500 and also more power with the 700, and uses the same Starlock interface, since it was co-developed by Fein and Bosch.
