This is one of the main reasons I went over to paper/card modelling. Pretty much everything you've covered here and mentioned in the comments can be had easily as a download or, particularly Polish aircraft, as a printed kit. As an example, I just finished a Nord Gefault, which was a French supersonic test aircraft, bought on a whim having never heard of the type before. Kit cost me one, yes, ONE US$ to download and after painting it and putting some extra details on from scratch it is hardly distinguishable from a plastic kit.
YES! Finally someone else who wants a Hindustan HF-24 Marut. Beautiful aircraft, and the last aircraft designed by Kurt Tank. I've been wanting one for decades.
The fact there are no Indian aircraft on the market really makes me sad. The fact that the HF-24 was designed by Kurt Tank has always made me wonder why no-one did it considering all the 1946 stuff we have! 😔💟
@@MsModeller The Marut is one I've wanted to model since I was a wee lad in the 1960s. I don't do WWII luftstuffe*, so Tank's final creation is probably the closest I'll come. *That also goes for all WWII axis aircraft. No disprespect to those who do, I understand the appeal, but I just can't.
@@MsModeller We also need a new kit of the CF-100 Canuck. The Hobbycraft one has issues, and they're getting very rare. An Avro C-102 Jetliner would also be nice, but that's too obscure for most.

I'd like to see the Nimrod Airfix did get asked about it, and they said it's too old for a "current" release but not old enough for a vintage classic release. They also said they felt the wings were "wobbly" as no wing spars. I only know 1 person who's built the kit and they've disagreed with this statement
The fact that there isn't a readily-available 1/72 Curtiss JN-series kit boggles my mind. It's a hugely important subject; the basis of American civil aviation! Barring that, I want the beautiful air racers of the 1920s and 30s.
Although I am more into military aircraft, the civil / general aviation industry is not well represented. What I'd like to see is for e.g. a Sikorsky S-76 (such a good looking heli), Cessna aircraft of all types, Beechcraft, Pipers, Bell Helicopter etc. AA Model do a good range of for e.g. Beechcraft Super King Air, but the quality of plastic and molding is not great, so defs not a "shake n bake" type kit. Yes, there are resin versions of some Cessa like the 307. I know Italeri (?) did a C-172 I think, but still...
Not a specific kit, but categories: Reached test flight stage but never entered service, such as the Heinkel 112. Never left the drawing board. Unrepresented periods, such as the Spanish Civil War (would it kill anyone to make a decal set of an He111 or Bf109 of the Condor Legion?), the AASF - early war RAF in France prior to Dunkirk. Also early war Polish aircraft. The Winter War (Finland v the Soviet Union 1939/40). Gallantry Awardees: VCs, CMOHs, HSUs, LdeHs, RKs (Knight's Cross) etc. There are many kits that already exist that could be released as such sets, so for the cost of a bit of research and a decal set the manufacture sells a whole kit or set of kits.
A Douglas BTD Destroyer in 1/48 scale. I don’t understand why one was never made. Short Sterling, Armstrong Whitworth Whitley, Consolidated TBY-2 Sea Wolf are just a few of the WW2 era planes I would like to see in kit form
I’d love to see a new 1/72 or 148 Merlin . I know there’s been a few kits done over the years but they either cost too much on EBay or just aren’t fantastic kits . Would be fantastic if it could somehow be made into the ASW and troop transport version without each being a separate kit . A Wildcat would be lovely as well but I don’t see that happening soon as airfix are still selling their lynx
What Airfix could do is to re-release the gazelle, Scout and Auster in an Army air coups kit what i would like to see is an new toilling HA1119 IN Spanish markings and in the german markings from the film, again as a dou set with the spitfire 9 again in 1940's markings from the film.
Being from Canada, I appreciated your inclusion of the Avro Arrow. No one has made one since Hobbycraft left. In terms of widely desired new tooling, it would have to be a Handley Page Halifax in 1/72. I would think that the chances of that are pretty good. Personally; how about an Anson in 1/72?
Well, let's see. I'm Brazilian, so I'll start closer to home. Brazilian aircraft: yes, we've been treated with nice kits of venerable aircraft from my home country such as the A-1 AMX by both Hobby Boss and Kinetic, and Hobby Boss' shots at the EMB-312 (T-27) Tucano and the A-29 Super Tucano in recent years, but there's so much more. I'd love to see the EMB-120 Brasilia or the EMB-110 Bandeirante in 1/72nd, for example. Next is na entire subject I think is sadly disregarded by kit companies nowadays: general aviation. It's sad enough to see the virtual inexistance of kits portraying any of the hundreds of business jet models on this planet. But what I miss the most is a decent, modern 1/48 tooling of such an absolute legend as the goodold Cessna 172 Skyhawk, or the gorgeous Piper Arrow, or any version of the Beech King Air. Yes, one can find some older kits, mostly by MisterCraft, portraying some of those and other such aircraft, but their tooling is greatly obsolete, with grapefruit-sized rivets, clear parts as thick as the walls of a church and panel lines so wide you could fit your leg in. Give me just a nice and pretty Cessna in 1/48 and the world will become a better place. Helicopters: let's see a crisp new tooling for the Bell-206 Jet Ranger in 1/48. While we're in the realm of civilian aviation: classic airliners. I wish some major company came up with new toolings for some Boeing 727s, some Lockheed Electras, or Douglas DC-10s. How about space? All Space Shuttle kits look more like toys than convincing scale models. Modern tooling techniques can do so much better than that. Finally, there are some subjects that are surprisingly absent from the scene given their popularity and mainstream share-of-mind. I find it shockiing, for example, that none of the major model companies have any recent, nice tooling of the P-38j in the 1/72nd scale. Or the P-39 Airacobra. Or the F-111.
Some 1/72 kits I'd like to see. 1. A new molding of the Russian Sikorsky S23 Ilya Muromets 2. Sikorsky CH-37 Mojave 3. Nardi FN.305 4. Consolidated TDY Seawolf 5. FFGS J-22

@MsModeller if you do decide to buy that yak-130 kit in person (rather than online) ask the person behind the counter can you open the box to check the canopy BEFORE handing over any money
I usually do 1/48 but this could apply for all scales, Spitfire T.IX with both styles of canopy, Bf-109G-12, Fw-190S8, TP-40 and TF-51. As you can see I quite like 2 seater warbirds and they are too niche. I quite like the idea of having popular warbirds but making them a bit more interesting
Given the number of railfans in the world, I'm surprised that thre are so few scale display models of trains. I realize there are models for model train layouts, but I'm talking about larger scale, display only trains in larger scales. Most of the few kits that exist, like Revell's Big Boy are still HO scale, and a lot of the ones I do see are European steam engines or WWII wartime trains. I would love an F9, R3, a big GE diesel, Southern Pacific Daylight, with complete interiors, engine and truck details.
