This is Buffalo Trace’s Mashbill #2 so the same as Blanton’s and Rockhill Farms. There’s not much info because the mashbill and brand are owned by Age International.
I have come to realize I watch vault/tribe videos, as well as other whiskeytubers and stuff like Casino Guitars, for the rabbit holes you all leap into as much as the topic info. Keep it up.
Hey guys. Long time watcher of your (and Ralfy's) channel, from the UK. More of a Scotch drinker than bourbon at the moment, with my current favourites being the Bunnahabhain 12 cask strength, Ledaig 18 and Kilkerran 12.
I thought to add to a tangent here, as I remember hearing Daniel saying that he's a fan of Bela Fleck (who, other than the Flecktones, also plays with Zakir Hussain and Edgar Meyer). Well, Bela Fleck is joining Shakti for their 50th Anniversary tour, and they're playing in Texas on Saturday September 16, 2023 at the Riverbend Center for the Arts. I just saw Shakti last night at the Hammersmith Apollo, London, and they were mind blowing - pure joy and love. Please go if you get the chance to! Methinks you won't be disappointed.
Your smoke shed story reminds me of something that happened back in the early 1970s at a molded rubber factory where I worked. One of the foremen had a cold and someone told him to chew a clove of garlic. He chewed a whole bulb instead. He was breathing and sweating garlic odor for days. Our coffee pot was at the end of a narrow supply closet. He got a cup in the morning and no one could get a cup the rest of the day. The employees in his department, which was a large open room with rubber odor, complained about the stench.

It's Mashbill 2. It's kinda annoying when you consider that it is harder to find than Blanton's at times.

I guess Diageo disclosed that Orphan Barrel Lost Prophet (which was mash #2, which this is suppose to be) was 75-78% corn, 15% rye, 7-10% malted barley (all BT says is 12-15% rye)
Off profile barrels that are saved by the distillers whiskey wizards, made into a new brand, and then sold to Buffalo Trace fans for double what a basic bottle “should” cost. Sazerac is absolutely brilliant. And these bottles are going for 200 or more at online retailers. This is a wild time. Its bourbon madness, baby!
Bought mine from a local brick and mortar in the NW US for $55. Guess I should resell?

Buffalo Trace has released the two main mash bills they use. Not sure if they have released the wheated ( Weller ) mash bill.
We were just on a tour at BT and they were bottling it on the Blanton's building

Finally a bottle I had on hand and could taste along. I don't mind the sweetness and understand how different people have different tastes. Not much for the review but at least I enjoyed the tangent stories.
Mashbill #2 is not owned by Buffalo Trace (Sazarac). It’s owned by Age International which is owned by Takara Shuzo, a Japanese company. BT contracts out the distillation and US distribution from Age International. Hancock, Blantons, Elmer T Lee, Rock Hill Farms all owned by Age International.

Did you know, spritzing the barley in the smoke house doesn't really do anything, e just wanted to see if you'd actually go in there while the smoke was going.

This is the one time I'm upset at the tangents. I really wanted to see a comparison with blantons or etl or buffalo trace because I like the handcocks way better then any of those and don't find it sickly sweet at all which might be a blown pallet from the redbreast.

Btw, it's a Single Barrel not a blend. Or at least it claims to be at the top of the bottle, lol. Could be a big factor in it being so off profile.

0_0 decided to look up what the price was and I'm getting mixed results one place it's going for 345 GBP and then in other places 60 - 250 GBP.
Got this bottle at Total Wine. Cork fell apart when I opened it. Very simple whiskey, maybe a good start before going into some better stuff. Def not worth the cost though…

Seriously Brad, we understand the kinetic energy of glass making contact with the bottle is minimal and the rotational motion of the bottle is symbolic of a standard bell and is meant for comedic purposes as opposed to purposeful acoustic vibration manipulation. Come on Brad!
