  • It's getting cold in the workshop and last year I already suffered from working in the cold. So this time I decided to make a wood stove to heat myself and try to get rid of all my scrap wood during winter. So I found this oil barrel and I recycled it to make a heater out of it. You can also use other containers like a propane tank to make it. I couldn't weld much because the walls of the barrel were very thin. So I mainly used pop rivets.
I am quite happy with this wood stove and even if my shop is not that much isolated, I can feel the heat radiation from few metters. Please tell me what you think about it and don't hesitate to share me your own heater if you made one.

Nice build. I would however put some more substantial heat resistant material between your barrel and the wall of your building

I love this! Did you use actual stove pipe for your chimney?
