    Great info! Beautiful stoves! I have found that when I watch these videos, it's best done from my own bunker, with a warm blanket and a cuppa tea to soothe me when I get scared. Sometimes I have to pause the video, take some deep breaths and do a short meditation before continuing. Hey, it works for me!

    CWB certified welder here. I too do not take off the guard from my grinder so kudos but get rid of those gloves when using equipment with rotating parts. Angle grinders and bench grinders should not be used with gloves ever! Now let’s talk about all the ultraviolet light that’s hitting your uncovered hands and arms. You keep that up they’ll be cutting the cancer out of your arms one day. Don’t be like all these other RUclipsrs welding in a T-shirt. I think your little stove is great, and it’s wonderful to see the fun that you have in your little workshop. All the best from Canada!

Ultimately Ill be growing $3000pw in gourmet mushrooms and the whole enterprise is made from other people's junk.

    The plate you inserted to direct the heat away from the chimney and to the cooking plate is I think called a "baffle plate". (the word is not unique for stoves though. fluids may have a baffle plate too)

    Can you tell or show me how you kept the glass in? i like the idea of the 'W' clips from recycled steel tape, but not sure how you set the glass in place with them. Thanks again for a great vid. Winter here now in Oz, so keen to get the glass door made up and installed on my little heater. Currently just a full steel.
    I'm also finding if 'choof choof choofs' a bit, so I'm wondering if I don't have enough air inlet, or need to choke the flue down a bit. 9kg cylinder, 90mm flue, ~42mm air inlet. Chimney about 1.7m. I notice your air inlets are higher than most and mine is at the base of the cylinder. Cheer, Paul.

    I am fabricating one for myself
    Question does the heat plate on the inside remove or was it welded solid ? And noticed that one had a exhaust damper. Do you recommend adding one?
    Thank you. Great video

    • @t.h.o.r.
      @t.h.o.r.  Год назад +1

      the semi circular double burn plate sits on three pins and is replaceable. you can also tune the performance by trimming the front- (straight) edge of the plate. on installations with a long chimney there is too much draw so the damper is how you slow it down after you get it started. minimum chimney length is 1.5m. any chimney over 3m needs a damper. I hope that helps?

    • @t.h.o.r.
      @t.h.o.r.  Год назад +1

      burning with hardwood or a gentle forced fan induction you will easily get 5Kw. Or a bigger diameter longer chimney. About 4metres will give you 5Kw

    • @t.h.o.r.
      @t.h.o.r.  Год назад +1

      That a real overkill. 120mm is the 'sporty model' you could use an adaptor transition cone to make it fit as getting a 150mm flue into a 300mm dia body is pretty ugly. A flue that big will suck a lot of embers and put out a lot of sparks @@joshb6993 Ive got lots of fire videos. Rocket stoves are awesome too if you have lots of >30mm tree branches each winter they are a great way of utilising waste for heat.
