Hey John. I see that someone already made the correction about "Are You Ready For Love". Another correction is his contribution to the Hollies - he played piano on "He Ain't Heavy..." and "I Can't Tell the Bottom From the Top" and not "The Air That I Breathe."

Thanks for this. I knew it was one of the big Hollies hits but got the wrong one!

I'm sure it was thrilling to an unknown artist like Elton John to have Neil Diamond introduce him at the Troubadour gig!

I didn't know that. I assume the record label organised that.

I quite like I Can't Go on Living Without You, as it is on Jewel Box. Didn't realise that was an Elton lyric. I like the arrangement. There's a Cilla Black cover of it on RUclips that's not bad!

John: "...or if there's anything you want to correct...."
Rob: "Oh God, he's talking to me LOL!"
And yes, one correction. Elton didn't have anything to do with the writing of "Are You Ready for Love". That was Thom Bell, Leroy Bell, and Casey James.
As much as I may jump on corrections, I honestly do adore your videos, John. I'm always delighted to find another one about my favourite artist, and you go far more in-depth than most people do.
My favourite story from that first trip to the US is about how mortified Elton was that they'd hired a double-decker bus and put a huge banner on the side saying "ELTON JOHN HAS ARRIVED!" when no one in the US knew who the Hell he was. When Bernie later referenced that incident in "Postcards for Richard Nixon", I laughed out loud the first time I heard it.

I appreciate my subscribers pointing out my errors - really I don't mind at all, as it keeps the discussion going, and I often get things wrong. I didn't know about the bus story or the link with the Nixon song. Another plus for The Captain and the Kid. I should probably do something looking in detail at the lyrics of that one.

There's a you tube channel under the name Ronnie Friend that has all kinds of Elton video clips, FYI in case your not aware of it. Love your channel as well.

Forgot to mention, many are audio clips, it's also set chronologically, so you go back about ten years it gets pretty interesting. Lot of rare early clips.

Yes, thanks. I do subscribe to that one. Who is Ronnie Friend, by the way? Does he have a connection to Elton?
