Use the photo compensation button (plus or minus) to adjust over exposure (default on camera). It should work perfect toward the right exposure.

I have owned my S7000 for some years so the following is my observation on it. At 16 megapixels I found the image loses resolution due to over pixilation of the image. I adjusted the setting to eight megapixels and now all is perfect. Even at eight mg one can get lovely prints up to 20x16 inches When taking close up shots only have minimum zoom then move up as near as possible to the subject with of course the macro setting on and take a picture. The lens is really sharp and I have pictures published including the front cover of a calendar. Use correctly you should like me be very pleased with this camera.

Hi I have this camera and it was fine for awhile then it wouldn't focus on anything even when zoomed
Focusing when fully zoomed in can be an issue.

I always seem to have trouble with not getting enough exposure when I take shots for my work. The slight overexposure "shortcomings" may actually be helpful for me :)

Hi Geekanoids , I'm having trouble connecting my Nikon coolpix S7000 to my Dell laptop with USB lead supplied with the camera, the laptop keeps saying USB not reconised, what would you recommend i do , please help if you can.
I would recommend getting a memory card reader and transfer your photos that way.

when you point and focus, screen shows some numbers like 1/15,1/13 on right alongside f number. what are these?
This is the aperture if next to the f number, or possibly shutter speed.
yeah i have alot off isues i dont understand...! if its a sunny day, is mostly all good...but cloudy is always very blurry..low quality!
also cant figure out what settings use inside a gym, where the area being photographed is very bright, the picture takes very dark..? also sometimes when the flash is off it takes fine, but then mostly blurry, or orange, or simple low quality..?
what makes me mad is that on the screen it looks great, but when i take the picture, it doesnt look same, its worse...?

I'm in doubt whether to buy the Nikon S7000 or the older sony HX50 in the same price range now. I like that the S7000 is a lot smaller and lighter and care less for the increase in zoom of the HX50. However I was told in the store that the image quality of the HX50 is a lot better, does anybody have experience with that? I mainly want to use it on vacation to make better shots than my Samsung S4 phone that I use now

Hmmmm seems as if Nikon kind of rushed this camera into production, some of the points you mentioned could be rectified by a software update (focusing issue, color reproduction etc.) . THe camera (from what I have seen) did produce nice detail, and the zoom range is fantastic for a point and shoot. The video was clean, but colors were a bit soft and the audio did have some hiss. I think that if Nikon would have taken just a little bit more time on the firmware before launching this camera it would have been a great buy. Brilliant video Dave.

Hi, could you please tell me what the camera is like indoors with and without the camera? I am in a hurry to buy a camera for taking pics of a child's birthday party, so the pics don't need to be professional quality or anything but I need to know if it takes good indoor pictures please?

This is fine for general photography. The background noise in the audio is always there. Perhaps consider a Canon G7x.

Hi! I'm looking for a camera to take photos of clothing up against a plain wall or on a mannequin. This will be inside with not very much natural light. I bought this camera today but I can't seem to get it to get a nice focused picture. I'm looking for a camera that is $200 and under that would be good for pictures of clothing. No, this static noise is due to the quality of the internal pre-amps on the camera.
I commmented on your other video with a random question but this is the camera I was talking about! how would you go about attaching a wind muff on this camera? theres so many things the muff could interfere with like the flash near the left mic and the other light (for use of focusing?) near the right microphone.
Can it be used as a FHD webcam?
I don't think so as it does not have clean HDMI output.
@@geekanoids Thanks for this answer! I found one at a secondhand shop for $25 and was thinking I may be able to use it in conjunction with the elgato cam link and obs. I was trying to research whether it had a clean HDMI output, but couldn't find it by just straight googling. I'm still thinking about grabbing it though as maybe I could still use it if I cropped the picture in obs.

Thanks for video, I want to buy digital camera and choosing between Sony DSC-W830 and this Nikon Coolpix S7000. Sony is slower only 1 fps when taking photos and this Nikon 8 fps continual shooting and too have Full HD video but only 30 fps (my LG G2 mobile have 60 fps) and bigger displaz 3" vs 2,7"

You can only use the built in mics. This one has no mic input.
i bought it after seeing review & i like it except when i click photos with flash on sometimes i see rainbow like bubbles in the image,is it normal or my camera has some problem?hope you will response

How can I Improve the audio? There's no microphone jack but would a wireless mic work?
With no mic port, there is no way to even connect a wireless receiver. Only way is to use a separate recorded like a Zoom H1 and then sync the audio when editing.
