I was way ahead of you with the Magic the gathering mini painting. LoL I was running a D&D Campaign and decided to get some of the notable NPC painted. Besides 2 of the players I have 5 already painted, corresponding to Boros, Selesnya, Izzet, Dimir, Golgari. I still need to do Simic, Orzhov, and Gruul but I've yet to find a proper looking mini for 2 of the 3.

@@GoobertownHobbies I find the most fun I have when I paint is when I have no clue what I'm doing but I make it work. I'm glad you have such a ready to try vibe Brent. Thank you for another great video!
When you started painting the stairs, I thought there was no way they would ever turn out well. I was wrong. The stairs are amazing. I love the video, your attitude is just great.
@@TaylaChan I feel like the skeletons on the bridge could have used a bit more detail, some highlighting and some extra colours and darkening on the robes, but the overall piece is awesome.

I know its probably not your "everyday voice", but hearing your voice in these videos, I find your videos so relaxing, soothing, and kind. Thank you for all you do.
Awesome video! Love the roulette challenges. I really like how you've included other peoples' roulette submissions from all painting levels/stages in their mini painting careers.
That's a fantastic little composition. The two duelists' similar clothes and faces evoke all kinds of great mini-storylines. Perhaps these are two brothers who've gone different ways in life, or perhaps this is the hero locked in some kind of mystical conflict with his literal evil reflection. Fun stuff.
Thanks! :-) Yeah there's a lot of possible themes for this thing that would work really well. I kinda like keeping it ambiguous so everyone can think of their own story for who these duelists are and why they're fighting.
Quick and dirty? This looks fantastic, the stairs are really great. I've really been enjoying your videos, they're always so positive and relaxing to watch. And hey, I pick up a few tips and tricks along the way, which is great because I've only been in the mini painting hobby for about 6 months or so.
It's funny how two different people can see two very different stories from the same minis and bases. I immediately saw the final duel from Episode one using the spiral base, The villain standing there having just killed the hero's sidekick or a hostage and tossed the body over the edge and the hero is coming for him. That said I really like the way it turned out with the white shirted hero, he really pops and the villain matching the stairs makes him seem so much more evil
The best art tells a clear story. This diorama told a compelling story. I learned a bit more about how to create art today. There are a lot of places to learn to paint minis, but not a lot to learn how to create art. Thank you Brent.

A timely, thematic and triumphant close to Goobertown Roulette Season 1. I think using the contrast paints in a very glaze like way followed up with fine drybrushing gives a great result. I’m honored you chose my spooky skeletons, and I apologize again for bending the rules a bit. Once I started thinking creatively I just couldn’t stop myself. I’m looking forward to finishing my Season 2 entry and seeing all the new picks as well.
You're right about the brown contrast paints being the best. Snakebite leather has become one of my favorites when I don't feel like dealing with painting leather or straps.
I wonder how many people saw the third terrain option and immediately went "YES! That's the one! It's perfect!" I imagine the same amount of people mimicked the Hero's face when you painted those stairs pink and blue! Turned out great Brent keep'em coming. Also about the halfings, you should add a rule. "If a halfing is plucked, pluck another." Will you pick just one more? Or the whole lot? Either way, whatever mini you pick after the halfings is going to have their work cut out for them and the dynamic is bound to be fun.
I love how the diorama feels like campy old fantasy art! With the stairs, the sculpts and the colours it feels like it was ripped straight out of the 80s!

The villain having the same cloak colour as the stone skeletons makes him look extremely evil. Our hero is confronted by death itself.
