Inspiring. I have the same relationship with a few of my models as they were originally owned by a chap who sadly passed away and his sister was selling them at a big "bring and buy". Bless her she didnt know what anything was worth, so of course you had the vultures circling her stall before long. In the end I stepped in and helped her get a grasp of what was what. By all means the models were still extremely cheap but it just left a bitter taste in my mouth that a few tight scavengers were scamming her. In the end I bought a load of stuff (at a good price for me and her). To this day I'm still finding bits and Bob's from the guys collection. It makes me think what will happen to my guys when I'm gone. I hope they all just go to nephews lol. I just try to make the models look as good as I can in memory of the original owner. I just love these type of videos that raise issues like this.

What you said about and to the previous owner of the miniature was really touching, Brent. Made me well up a bit. I never actually played the games (despite a good friend having a massive gaming board and terrain in his garage) I just painted and collected minis. All the best and I can’t wait to see you hit 200K Subscribers :)
You've deeply inspired me into miniature painting and pursuing my hobbies to the point where I'm finally putting plan to action and I made my own little studio. I cannot express how much I've learned from your videos and how ASMR it is for me to unwind after work with your content. It's refreshing, I learn, and I am inspired. Very nervous.. still have yet to paint my first mini! But I feel that I'm in good hands due to wonderful guidance from you, Scott, and Squidmar. I gotta drop them some love too. D: Already kind of obsessed and I plan to document my journey. I have a bit of a dream to be a content creator and your story was a catalyst to say what the heck and give it my best shot. At the worst, I'll have created a ton of great memories and even be able to go back and watch them. At best, I'll be making content and that will be enough. But hey, maybe in a few years I'll reach out for a collaboration or challenge. Thank you for being you, Brent.
so fun to watch. You and I paint so different. I don't really paint high end 25mm much any more but if I do, I use a much larger brush to slop on the base coats and get the paint more liquidy to run in the cracks. I like brown spray primers and like for the primer to dry 24 hours or more before I start unless I am just to excited by wait. At some point I lost my love of pretty blues and became more obsessed with earth tones which is what you seemed to be feeling as the video went on.
Oh man, congrats on the big 100k I'm happy to see you grow this much and also see how much celebration you gave it, never seen anyone do confetti to celebrate

Fun mini I painted recent was a modified push fit Blood warrior. The one with the belly/mouth holds it's weapon high and its head/helm can be cut out easy before assembly. Changing the weapon is noticeable and adding blood effects makes the mouth stomach look more horrific. Made a sweet looking chaos champion.

You have been such a big inspiration for me returning to the warhammer hobby after a 15 break. Keep up the great work!
My was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, and with the social distancing restrictions we are unable to hold a more traditional benefit for her. So I am going to hold a paint-a-thon style event hosted by our local hobby shop. The entire event was inspired by you last 24hr challenge. Thank you again for the work you do!
Sorry... My wife was diagnosed..
I really like how you tell a story as you paint. Very fun to watch.
God I love watching you, I can not afford this hobby anymore which breaks my heart. But it fills me with you to see you put so much heart into your minis. I feel a bit weird about being a huge Warhammer Nerd without a single Mini but at least I can enjoy watching you.
I'm so glad you said about enjoying the smell of the old paints! I have a few old hexagonal pots myself, and I find the smell of them is great for nostalgia and actually getting me in the mood to paint.
I recently got into watching your channel and been all over the place on watching. I love when you are giving the backstories, and have started to do it myself.
I enjoyed how painting one turned into a handful. Congrats on 100k 🍾 🥳
I love that funny little backstory, imagine if These cadian shock troops knew eachother for a very long time, so when this crazy inquisitor leads them to all kinds of crazy mission, shenanquins ensue, everyone is just messing around but making proggress.
I virtually never comment on vids but I’ve recently discovered your channel and it’s just absolute joy. I could listen to you talk for hours. ☺️ Also... that sword is badass!!!
I love it when you come up with scenarios, backstories, or mini dioramas for your projects. It makes me so much more invested in what you’re creating!
Yaaaay 100K!! Your celebratory dance was the cutest thing ever. 😄 Congrats Brent, very well deserved! 🎉🎉
Congrats on the 100k Brent. Glad to be apart of your community. Keep being you and doing your awesome videos. Lots of cat love.
Congratulations on your milestone! Your recent videos about painting what inspires me instead of what I have to has got me painting more than I have in the last year. I'm painting a beholder now that I have been putting off for years. It's turning out great and his name is Goober as a tribute to you!
Hahaha, nice! Goober the beholder!!! :-)
I bet Chris would be happy seeing the witch hunters next to each other in your video. I know it made me happy to hear how grateful you were to have them.
As usual, I enjoyed your video, but your tribute and back story was incredibly kind and thoughtful. Have a great weekend!
you know whats awesome about your videos !
they actually makes you wanting to paint and just have fun with it. ! thank you.
Congratulations on the 100k! You deserve it and so much more. Thanks for bringing so much joy to this hobby
I love the fact that you are telling a story as you are painting the minis. Thanks for the video!
Hehehe, that's the fun stuff for me :-)
...I am so curious about what you're saying to the camera in that timelapse...
Totally agree with your choice on that inquisitor, I had that model years ago, it's a joy to paint. And as ever, you're a joy to listen to!
What a nice way to start the Weekend. Such a Joy to watch
Have a great weekend!!!
I was not expecting to start this video with tears in my eyes. Touching.
Brent, you just seem like an all-around good dude. Love the channel and what you are doing. Thanks.
0:45 "I've got a lot of unpainted stuff, huh?" Well, clearly you're a real mini painter. As Abraham Lincoln once said "you're not a real mini painter unless you have your own body weight in unpainted minis"
I loved that you made story and even a set pictures with objective markers (also I own the same model and I've been putting off painting it because it so cool). Really made my day! Thank you!
Found these videos by accident. Took me back 20 years to when I painted minis. I went and got a new set. Very rusty but great enjoyment. Thanks for these awesome videos.
That 100K celebration and music made my day. YOU are a blessing, sir. The warmest greetings and congratulations from Chile!
Thanks! :-)
I love how you changed paint schemes during the process!
And the thought that High Inquisitor Gerald has a giant furred ginger warbeast at his (heh) beck and call...
And also glad to see when you hit 100K (60K better than 40K)!
How do you always manige to make me smile in the cutest ways, that dance plus expression is pure joy, congrat's on getting a 100k you deserve it and im looking forward to see what you do next
It is much more fun to paint a mini when it has a story. When I am painting characters, I always invent something for them. It makes the color choice and base style much easier to figure out.
Congratulations for the 100k!
Right on!!
Great presentation and clarity when presenting thoughts. I haven't painted any minis myself for a decade but really enjoy watching your approach and listening to your reflective and honest thoughts. Thank you for your effort and for sharing.
Massive congratulations on the 100k. I had a bizarre dream that i bumped into you randomly at an American Cemetery near where i live (Cambridge, UK) and you were so thrilled i recognized you from Goobertown, then i invited you to mine to paint and game and you stayed for a while and you had your cats in a Games Workshop carry case. Surreal and fun dream all in one!
Greetings from London UK Brent! I hope you are well. I just want to say a HUGE well done on the 100k subscriber! It is well deserved :) I have been subscribed to you for a while and I really like your content. I am 28 years old and Your videos have got me back into into the hobby (painting and collecting) and I may even give the games ago this time round :)
I started collecting and painting Warhammer when I was like 9 -10 years old, My first set was The Lord Of The Rings: The Battle for Helms Deep box set, that my parents got me for Christmas.
Already kind of obsessed and I plan to document my journey.
You're the kind of person everyone can learn from. I love these videos.
so fun to watch.
Thanks for the hobbyist content! Please keep it up! Love it! Thank you, I spend the week between episodes waiting for your new post.
:-) I've gotta paint faster!!!
@@GoobertownHobbies I'm happy, you have a day job! Don't feel pressured!
Oh man, congrats on the big 100k I'm happy to see you grow this much and also see how much celebration you gave it, never seen anyone do confetti to celebrate
Thanks!!! Cats hate confetti- live and learn ;-)
I feel happy for your accomplishment, Im not into minis hobbie or anything but I enjoy watching people doing and talking about stuff they like, and you sure enjoy your hobbie
YAAAY! Congrats on 100k! Wonderful job Brent and the mini turned awesome! I love the story behind it.
Thanks Brent!
@@GoobertownHobbies I am really happy to be a part of the Goobertown Hobbies citizenship!
Great video! Cheers on hitting 100k+!
If anyone is looking for that green for their army, vallejo game color Camoflage green is very similar. Happy Painting!
Gerold was a good sport and kind of a fashion hound. I bet those guardsmen enjoyed their time with him. I think I have him in one of my piles of “reinforcements “ ! Fun video
Watching these sort of videos always gets me hyped to dig through my own collection. I still have a venom and some scourges to finish, maybe I'll finally get to them this week.
I liked the video before I watched it because I've been watching you long enough to know every video is as good or better then the last. Love you brent, my friday just got so much more relaxing. Edit: Congratulations for 100k!!!
I love watching you're videos! I watch your videos when I need inspiration or guidance on some of the minis I'm looking to paint. Thank you so much for your dedication to making quality content!
Congratulations 🥳 I've been on this journey with you from the beginning. So happy for you, you've made my day 👍🏻 🇬🇧
Dude that bit on chris is the most wholesome thing I’ve ever heard
Hey, man, we love you too & my day was made brighter watching you paint. Also congrats on the 100K subscribers. You deserve every single one of us + more. Keep up the awesome job. My hat's off & a moment of silence for Chris.
Brent well done mate throughly deserved. Keep up the great work 🍻🍻👍🏻
I really enjoyed this mini series. And congrats on reaching the 100k mark! I've enjoyed your content these last couple of months.
Congrats on 100k! You’re an inspiration on many levels to me Brent and I love your videos. What a good start to a Friday
Congrats Goobs on 100k! Also, please further the story of Gerald and the Guardsmen. What's down the hatch? Get some more random minis painted and get a narrative going!

Old skool GW skull white in the hexagonal pot had the most unique smell out of the lot... i was just talking about this the other day, spooky.. great video dude
also it was nice talking about where you sourced the model from and taking the time to say something about the previous owner , very touching. peace to you Chris.
take care everyone
I recently stumbled across your channel, and I just want to thank you for the awesome content, and the relaxed air and good vibes you bring with it. Congrats on the deserved 100K, here's to many more.
You are such a good soul .... I can’t help but end your vids feeling honoured to have had the experience ... sooo proud to know I’m one of the 100K
Thank you for this watched it on my lunch and made me chuckle go go Gerald!!!. Thank you for the day brightener!!!! Plus cool as hell mini and paint job!!
Awesome! It was quite enjoyable watching this group of characters come together.
Absolutely loved this video! It was really inspiring to see you create a cool backstory for this character
At first glance I thought the mini from the thumbnail was as the classic witch hunter one at the end! I need it for my Mordheim Witch Hunters. Nice classic rare mini
I didn't know your channel before tonight, and I didn't expect to subscribe right away, but your dedication to the deceased man you got me. Much respect man.
