I agree. I couldn't help but just have pure admiration for the conscious kindness to a complete stranger who shared a hobby. We need more people in our friends groups like Brent. Real upstanding dude who we can all honestly look to for compassion. I think it does so much more for us to be kind and to see Brent express this as a hallmark of the video is seriously cool. He didn't have to, but he did, and that makes all the difference. I'm a new fan to this channel, but I'm definitely here to stay. I can tell it is full of positive energy and I need more of that right now.

Inspiring. I have the same relationship with a few of my models as they were originally owned by a chap who sadly passed away and his sister was selling them at a big "bring and buy". Bless her she didnt know what anything was worth, so of course you had the vultures circling her stall before long. In the end I stepped in and helped her get a grasp of what was what. By all means the models were still extremely cheap but it just left a bitter taste in my mouth that a few tight scavengers were scamming her. In the end I bought a load of stuff (at a good price for me and her). To this day I'm still finding bits and Bob's from the guys collection. It makes me think what will happen to my guys when I'm gone. I hope they all just go to nephews lol. I just try to make the models look as good as I can in memory of the original owner. I just love these type of videos that raise issues like this.

What you said about and to the previous owner of the miniature was really touching, Brent. Made me well up a bit. Even though we're just talking about silly plastic(and metal) miniatures, it's genuinely heartwarming to hear stuff like that and remember that there's a story behind every miniature, and a person behind that story.

correction. he stabs the poor servant. and then falls in love with the color the blood on the sword makes when back-lit by the glow of the sword. he then proceeds to start stabbing someone every few seconds because the blood keeps boiling off the sword. poor Gerald has fallen to chaos. all because of his love of color.

small critique, the flame coloring is backwars. the brightest colors are in the bulk of the flame towards the base. thats how fire works. its brighter near the source and darkens as carbon and other elements burning off mix into the air. yellow should be the base color mixing into orange and then red near the tip.

But it's been only the past couple years that I've stepped my game up by watching various channels like yours. I am also a terrain maker and I have a system when I make terrain which I call doodling. I take various pieces of bits I've collected and just play around with them and see what I come up with. It is so relaxing to do that even though I have many terrain and painting projects to do. They can get done later, I am enjoying myself now. Thanks for reinforcing that.

The inquisitions best kept secret is how 'Cadia Blackface Matters' was the actual cause for Cadia to explode. They were a group of insurgents of Choas, hellbent on destabilizing the planet. Initially the Inquisition was soft on them, let them set up RAPE and MURDER zones, or 'Cadia Autonomous Zones', but things got out of hand and thats what ended Cadia.

Massive congratulations on the 100k. I had a bizarre dream that i bumped into you randomly at an American Cemetery near where i live (Cambridge, UK) and you were so thrilled i recognized you from Goobertown, then i invited you to mine to paint and game and you stayed for a while and you had your cats in a Games Workshop carry case. Surreal and fun dream all in one!

Greetings from London UK Brent! I hope you are well. I just want to say a HUGE well done on the 100k subscriber! It is well deserved :) I have been subscribed to you for a while and I really like your content. I am 28 years old and Your videos have got me back into into the hobby (painting and collecting) and I may even give the games ago this time round :)
I started collecting and painting Warhammer when I was like 9 -10 years old, My first set was The Lord Of The Rings: The Battle for Helms Deep box set, that my parents got me for Christmas. I never actually played the games (despite a good friend having a massive gaming board and terrain in his garage) I just painted and collected minis.
All the best and I can’t wait to see you hit 200K Subscribers :)

You've deeply inspired me into miniature painting and pursuing my hobbies to the point where I'm finally putting plan to action and I made my own little studio. I cannot express how much I've learned from your videos and how ASMR it is for me to unwind after work with your content. It's refreshing, I learn, and I am inspired.
Very nervous.. still have yet to paint my first mini! But I feel that I'm in good hands due to wonderful guidance from you, Scott, and Squidmar. I gotta drop them some love too. D:
Already kind of obsessed and I plan to document my journey. I have a bit of a dream to be a content creator and your story was a catalyst to say what the heck and give it my best shot. At the worst, I'll have created a ton of great memories and even be able to go back and watch them. At best, I'll be making content and that will be enough. But hey, maybe in a few years I'll reach out for a collaboration or challenge.
Thank you for being you, Brent.

so fun to watch. You and I paint so different. I don't really paint high end 25mm much any more but if I do, I use a much larger brush to slop on the base coats and get the paint more liquidy to run in the cracks. I like brown spray primers and like for the primer to dry 24 hours or more before I start unless I am just to excited by wait. At some point I lost my love of pretty blues and became more obsessed with earth tones which is what you seemed to be feeling as the video went on.

Fun mini I painted recent was a modified push fit Blood warrior. The one with the belly/mouth holds it's weapon high and its head/helm can be cut out easy before assembly. Changing the weapon is noticeable and adding blood effects makes the mouth stomach look more horrific. Made a sweet looking chaos champion.

Gerold was a good sport and kind of a fashion hound. I bet those guardsmen enjoyed their time with him. I think I have him in one of my piles of “reinforcements “ ! Fun video
