Girl! I get stressed when I see you are against a hard deadline to complete a test knit…..to me, you still have a lot to do…..then you decide you will cast on and knit a hat in meantime! You are fearless! 💪
I think I’m just crazy 😂
I'm so sorry to hear about your family friend! Thank you for bringing such nice vibes, even during tough times! 🧡
You are such a ray of sunshine in the world/crafting community.
Thank you ❤
I need to find a sewing class. Every time I watch you Kaci you are making pants or dresses that I wish I could make for myself!
If I can do it you can do it!
Such beautiful colours this episode! Thanks for sharing your knits and plans x
Better to cut both legs the same way up in corduroy. There’s a nap that can make it look a different colour when you reverse the direction.
I know!! I messed that up completely 😅
@@YoungfolkKnits I did it last year, too. Like you, I knew about the nap. But in the thrall of making, I forgot. One and a half legs the right way up 🤦♀️ Never mind. Our mistakes are all small offerings to the gods x
Enjoyed your podcast I don't know how you get done what you do your a superwoman 😊 I am running a little but behind but am catching up love all your yarn and that you share the yarn its people like you that share so we can try out new yarns too 😊
You create so many beautiful things! One thing you should do with fabric is to wash it and dry before cutting into the fabric. That way if it is the perfect fit, it won’t be ruined by shrinking. When I saw the layout before cutting I was yelling for you to stop! It has a nap! Also, your hair. You could do commercials for shampoo. Just beautiful!
I’m a mess when it comes to sewing 😂😂😂😂
Kaci your knits are so beautiful and those pants were sewn to protection
Have a great week
💝🥰
Thank you so much!
Wow!!! I love those trousers! They are gorgeous. Well done, Kaci!
Thank you so much!
I’m excited to see all your projects completed! You choose such good patterns and pair them well with the colors 😃 that Manhattan hat is going to be especially cute!
Oh thank you!
I didn’t even notice your mirror, just those cute pants!!!
Awww thanks!
You had me at 'stretch Corduroy' and oooh that gorgeous colour. Glald you were able to shrink them down - they're super cute! Look forward to seeing the finished Manhattan Hat! Happy Thanksgiving.
Thanks so much! 😊
Another great episode!
I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving 🥧 🍁!
I'm so sorry for your loss and am sending prayers and good energy your way.
Happy creating 💚🧶💚
Loved your sewing segment. Very motivating
Thank you! 😊
Love the colors of your pants and of your Andrea Mowry test knit.
Thanks!!!!
I can't wait to see that pink hat! Sooo cute!
Thanks!
I’ve live following your sewing journey. The pants look great. You’ve inspired me to go back to sewing my own clothes. I’ve recently reorganized my sewing room. It’s a work in progress. I’ve bought a few See liberated patterns now I need to source some new fabrics. I would love it if you did a podcast on sewing pattern companies and fabric companies that you like.
Treat yo self to that yummy hat!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Sometimes a quick satisfying project in a soft color like that is just the best. Grateful for you Kaci!! 🍂✨🥮🧶
Thank you!
You make me want to sew! Thank you for sharing your makes with us; it is always a pleasure to watch
Thank you so much!!!
Love those pants! I think I'm gonna dedicate some of my weekend to sewing a couple of pairs of pants myself! I also ordered the pattern for the jumpsuit that you made, and I am super excited to make that up! Thanks for all of the inspiration!
I hope you love it!!!!
The pants look great and the colour is gorgeous!
Thank you!!
😂kids writing on the bathroom mirror❤.....real life ! Love it. I am currently knitting under filtered light from my puppy slobber and little finger splots on my window. They aren't pretty but it makes feel comfy at home!
Love it!!
🌴☀️Thanks for taking the time to make another video for you YT friends💐 I appreciate you Happy Thanksgiving☀️🌴
Thank you so much for watching!!!! ❤
Kaci, I absolutely love your channel!
Thank you so much!
I voted for today’s upload so you could spend your time with your family on Thanksgiving. But I am thankful to have found your podcast.
Thank you so much for watching!
Love those corduroy pants! What a great color 🥰 Since your are having to alter the fit so much, have you considered making a muslin pair first? That way you can check the fit before committing to cutting out the beautiful corduroy for your next pair.
That is exactly what I SHOULD do 😂
Just want to let you know that whenever I have a few videos show up in my feed together, I always watch yours first? Always fun. You may inspire me to sew some pants even.
Awww thank you!!
Thanks for the video! Happy Thanksgiving!!
Thank you for watching !
Thank you for sharing the info about the fabric shop, I didn't know about it! I am now shopping for some fabric for a shirt!👚
Have fun!
I haven’t done any sewing in years (10+) but you are inspiring me to give it a go again. Thank you for sharing.
You can do it!
You are so creative. When I saw the notification today, I said, Yay! Youngfolk Knits! 🥰 Always a pleasure to watch you and, yes, hear your cute Arkansas accent (said the Midwestern Michigander). 😂 Fun fun fun. Thanks for another great video.
Oh thank you!
Great comments on the Free Range pants. I look forward to the adjustments on your next pair to see how you like the improved fit
Coming soon!
I love those pants, the color is beautiful, so happy you got them to work out.
Lots of yummy yarns.
Take care.
Thanks so much
I made the free range slacks a few years ago too. The tapered leg as well, and I had the same issue with them just being way too big overall. I use them as pregnancy pants now 😂 but they are still too big for my legs.
I was interested in the other sweaters that you have knit that are also seamed, if you ever decided to do a video showing your knits/handmade wardrobe that would be so fun to watch! Great video as always 😊
Good idea!! Thanks! ❤
Really enjoyed this one.
Loved the cardigan test knit pattern.Originally learned on bottom up seamed patterns with set in sleeves. Then, with the trend, I switched to top down raglans often with colorwork yokes. I think it would be interesting to make the sailor cardigan and see how I feel about the fit of a bottom up seamed cardigan now.
Ordered 2 of the pressed flower hat kits too. Love the colors! Thanks for the suggestion.😊
Want to try sewing some pants again. Your process for fixing the size issue worked great! Amazing!
Thank you so much!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
You could cut a muslin Pair of pants to make sure your changes are correct. Love your patterns and color choices.
Yes I should lol 😂
What a great way to start Thanksgiving morning, in my pumpkin pjs of course (until I switch to the Xmas ones tomorrow). Hope you have a wonderful day with family and friends.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks so much.
Thanks for being here ❤
Those trousers looked great on you 👍🏼
Oh thank you!
Thanks for being with us this morning! You mentioned your husband working. I thought he was just a spiffily dressed farmer. 😅 and I really do not mean just. That is enough work on it’s own.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family.
He stays busy in the I.T. World haha
The test cardigan is coming together so well, love your color combo. I've made both views of the Free Range Slacks and was surprised I did not need to adjust them at all except for length. I made my wide-legged one full-length in linen and they are SO nice. I hadn't thought of corduroy but it seems like a good idea since they are not super gathered at the waistband but I'd probably stick with the tapered view for heavier fabric. Wool light-mid-weight could be nice too. Thanks for sharing.
That’s good to know about your fit experience
You might like the Elizabeth Suzann Clyde work pants for more structured fabric, I find the fit of her patterns so good!
I will look that up
I made the pants too.. they were two sizes to big for me . I think I made a size 10 and the ease was crazy.. However after I adjusted them I love them.. and will make them again ..that's even crazier
Oh man! It sounds like they needs lots of adjusting for most folks
Very curious to see your test knits 😊 and great how you could fix the pants
Thank you! 😊
Happy Thanksgiving Kaci and family 🦃
Thank you so much for watching!!!!
Ohhhh… I have the Grulla Sport too. I can’t wait to cast in on. I’m thinking a transitional spring top. Can’t wait to hear what you think about how it knits up!
I’m excited!!
can't wait to see your manhattan hat! I need to make another!
I can’t wait to wear it
Love the pants! I would love to make myself a pair of sage green linen flare leg ones.
That would be gorgeous ❤
Hi Kaci. I have made the free range slacks 3 times and love that pattern. I have size down each pair and lowered the waist line by an inch and a half. My measured size was a 10 I think and went down to a 4. Love the side panel. I used a 100% linen which was nice but I absolutely love a Linen cotton stretch Pomona linen. So nice. I made 2 wide leg version and one tapered version which I widened slightly as it was really tapered for me. I think the cord fabric would be very structured for that pattern. Have you tried the Landers pant pattern would be very nice in cord fabric. Enjoyed your episode!
That is some great info!! Thank you ❤
Hello from St. Louis Missouri.
Hello!
Definitely make the Free-range pants again. I had similar fit issues the first time but sized down and shortened the crotch length-big difference. I had a linen pair that were too big and didn’t want to take them all apart so I took out the elastic and took them in by making a seam down the middle of the side panel.
I’m excited to see the new fit on my next pair!
I’ve been obsessed with a cardigan pattern I just learned is bottom up, knit flat and pieced… I hope it’s worth it!!
It’s not bad until it’s time to fit certain pieces together haha 😂
❤🌈
You’re a real busy bee.
❤❤❤❤
Pants look great. I used to sew… I guess I used to have more patience. The inconsistency in sizing makes me crazy.
And corduroy is a fabric that has a nap. Meaning the fabric has a direction. When you run your hand up and down the fabric, it feels and looks different. Usually, the nap runs down in garments, but you can use it either way as long as both are the same.
Yessssss! And i turned my back leg upside down 😅
Those pants are fabulous. And gurl you are stunning as it is, you don’t need no dumpster truck ass😄🔥
😂😂😂
love Madge's van
❤❤❤TU
you didnt do a mock up? 😮 so brave, I would be too scared to waste my fabric.
Brave ? Or crazy? 😂😂😂
The Rosewood and Dahlia look so good together. I would choose those two. How many of each would i need to make a 36" bust, roughly? I haven't knit in pieces for a very long time, but looking forward to doing one, for a change! It has a beautiful drape!
They haven’t updated the yarn requirements yet based off of testers feedback so we will find out when they get all the info put in.
A bit off topic, but do you have a Spotify playlist? I just love your taste in music 😍
I made one with songs I have used in the podcast but I’m not entirely sure to share it or make it public
I worried about the layout for the corduroy- it has a nap. Did you end up cutting in two different directions? I do love the color.
I did accidentally. Totally was not paying attention 😂
What was the song you played while you sewed your awesome pants?
It’s called “this old habit”
How do you choose a size to fit your bust but not be too big in the neckline etc? I’m struggling to get sweaters to fit due to my bustiness. Any advice is appreciated
I would choose a size a tad smaller than my bust and then possibly increase up to a larger size. I will chat more about this soon
How do you become a test knitter? I'm interested but also a little nervous to try it bc I don't do well with hard deadlines
You can apply to test patterns when designers send out a call to test for them. You usually can hear about those calls from newsletters or instagram
When do you sleep!!!???
Not enough 😂
Gal how much GONE be now look I ain't asking gal I'm telling I need at least 30 dozen handkerchiefs for the international space 🌌 convocation huh saints boarding voyage
