Thank you all so much for the support on my very first podcast video! You’ve welcomed me into the online knitting community with such open arms! So many of you have left lovely comments of encouragement and advice. I’ve read them all and appreciate every single one of you!
I’ll be back soon with more knits! xx
It’s hard to believe you’ve only been knitting 6 months!!!!!! What an accomplishment it took me well over a year when I first started knitting! Great job look forward to more episodes!!! Welcome to the knitting podcast world
Thank you so much! I've had many fails and the ones I showed are the few that have come out to my satisfaction haha
Kudos to you for becoming such an accomplished knitter so quickly! A couple of sock tips for you: try knitting them toe-up, two at a time. No chance of second sock syndrome. Where you’re done, you’re done! The toe-up method using Judy’s Magic Cast On is a pleasure once you get the hang of it, and there is no grafting to do at the end. I also use the shadow wrap heel, which is super-easy and produces a great fit. And lastly, buy yourself the Chiaogoo Mini sock needles. Their cord is nano-thin, and it’s almost impossible to produce a ladder when doing Magic Loop. Buy their 37” cord too, which gives you a total 47” length of cord when you have the 5” needles attached. This gives you plenty of room when you have 2 socks on the needles. Enjoy!
Thank you for all these tips :) I will look into toe up socks and the shadow wrap heel! I have the Chiaogoo mini circulars and I exclusively knit all my socks with them! I love them so much.
OMG! You’ve been knitting less than a year and you’ve already done AMAZING socks WITHOUT A PATTERN?!? Can’t wait to see more! (And for the record, I loved the orange and olive socks you frogged - the colors totally worked for me - but I’m a guy who loves both orange and olive. Keep it up!!
Your Champagne Cardigan looks amazing! 🧶 For the underarm holes, I just use the tail or leftover yarn to close up the holes. Great first episode. I post knitting videos as well, so I know the struggle. But you did fantastic! 👏🏾
Thank you for the tip!! I will do that :)
Hi Hanaan! Although I am not a knitter (I crochet) I was instantly drawn by your name. I am also a Wedderburn, but from Barbados🇧🇧. Great to see that there are others out there 😃 Of course I subscribed.
Hello fellow Wedderburn! Thank you for following along :)
You have a great eye for color! Happy to have found your channel!
Beautiful socks! 🧦 And thanks for sharing your cardigan- feeling inspired to knit one now!😊🧶
Hi Hannan! Your Summer Lee socks are just so beautiful! You are a very talented knitter, the fabric in your socks look so even, like you've knitted for ages. I can't wait to see what you knit in the future 😊
Hi!! Thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement!!
Lovely! You’re a natural. Love your vibe.
So excited for this new journey and I look forward to seeing you continue to blossom. 😍
All of your socks look incredible; I’m inspired to knit more pairs! I look forward to your future videos
Thank you so much! I will be back with more knits very soon.
Your socks are just precious, I just want them all ! And do give sewing a try when you get a chance, I'm still quite a beginner sewist but it is really nice and fun in addition to knitting ! A whole new range of crafting that I am sure you could pick up quite easily, at least enough for you to have fun with it !
Thank you thank you! I can't wait to learn. I just have to find the time. It's my goal one day to have a mostly me-made wardrobe!
Great podcast! Can't believe you have only been knitting six months! you have a nice, relaxed podcast style. Very enjoyable. Looking forward to more!
Ah thank you so much! I will be back with more knits soon :)
ahhhh my heart stopped when i saw this pop up in my subscription box. love it, you’re a NATURAL 💛 can’t wait for the next one!
Ahhh! Thank you so much!! :)))
wow wow wow, your socks are amazing, you've really inspired me to get back to my sock knitting🤩 the way your socks look store bought and honestly so comfortable and gorgeous, ugh you've amazed me!!!! hope you continue to share your craft and inspire others🫶
Hi Hanaan! For a new knitter you are doing an impressive job with all of your projects. I really enjoyed your sock talk. I'm deep into socks right now as it is so hot outside I can't stand any big projects on my lap. Looking forward to your next episode! Best wishes from Margaret (My Wonderful Knitting Life podcast).
Great podcast, Hannah! You are incredibly talented! I’m blown away at your no pattern socks and having only recently begun knitting. It is in your DNA my dear❤❤❤
You're so kind! Thank you so much!
Your colour choices (and outfit) are immaculate!
Thank you so much!
New subscriber here! Love your energy and creativity. Looking forward to the next episode ❤
Those rust coloured socks are so smooth. That makes me want to start knitting socks again. Did you know there’s a way to knit both socks at once? You need 2 circular needles 😊
Thank you! Happy to be an inspiration! I've knit a pair of socks two at a time using the magic loop method and I really didnt like how fiddly it was. I think I will knit two at at a time going forward using two mini circulars and knitting parts of them consecutively. If that makes any sense!
@@hanaanbonet makes perfect sense! I like that idea
This was such a great podcast - can’t wrap my head around the fact that it’s your first!
Aw thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
You have a gift! what beautiful things you have made, Im so inspired to try a pair of socks!
Thank you very much! Happy to be an inspiration :)
Nice! I love seeing a new channel on knitting that appeals to me. Thanks for the book reviews as well.
Thank you! I'm happy you enjoyed it :))

Your color work socks are beautiful! Even the "fails" (moment of silence) looked great to me!
Thank you! ^_^
Congratulations on your first episode, all your sock creations and the cardi. I’m looking forward to your next episode.
Thank you so much for you support! :)
Hi, Hanaan! Great first podcast, and I’m floored by how short a time you’ve been knitting. Your socks are fabulous, and I love your Champagne Cardigan! Keep up the great work. You are definitely a “natural”…! P.S. I love Summer’s podcasts, too. She has a great sense of humor!
Thank you!! I love her channel as well. Such a down to earth and talented designer with such a great sense of color. An inspiration for sure!

Hi! Thank you so much!! You are so kind. I will be back soon for sure.
Hello to another NJ knitter! Congrats to you on being an adventurous knitter
HI!! Thank you!
Fabulous socks! And thank you for reminding me that the degen dot sock includes ladder-back jacquard! I have been wanting to learn that technique!
Thank you! Me too. I just have to make the time to learn!
So glad I found this video! This makes me want to knit on my socks again :) they look so good, greetings from Germany
Thank you very much! Happy to be an inspiration!
i love all of the color combos on your socks!! i highly recommend learning the old norwegian cast on (it’s known by many names, but that’s the one i know)! it’s extremely similar to long tail and just as rhythmic and very stretchy. perfect for cuff down socks
Thank you for your kind words and for the tip! I’m taking note and will definitely look into it!! 🙏🏾
OMG I’m so excited that I found your channel !! I also just started knitting a little over a month ago and have been slowly working on my own creation and have been inspired to post my journey so this is so fun to see other people’s journey ☺️
Ah I love that!! Thank you for following along. I'll be back soon!
I loved your socks! So beautiful! My first socks many years ago were awful! Literally 2 very different sizes! I hope you keep making more episodes!!
Thank you! I've had many unsuccessful socks as well haha. I will back for sure :)))
Hi Hanaan,
I’m so impressed by how evenly you knit for being a relatively new knitter! Well done! You have absolute great taste and I love your creations. Just last night I finished my champagne cardigan in a pretty similar colour to yours and I’m sooo looking forward to wearing it. Can’t wait for more videos to come. Woolly greetings from Germany 🤗

Hi Hanaan, congratulations on your new youtube adventure. I applaud you jumping into knitting socks and for being so successful! I am currently knitting my husband a pair of socks and thoroughly enjoying the process. I am afraid to do an afterthought heel. Can you tell me whose method you used?thanks.
@@adriennerichter8971 Thank you! Socks are so fun. I’m glad you’re enjoying the process :) I used the afterthought heel method by Crazy Sock Lady here on youtube. Great tutorial!
hey! your personal style is so cool and I also love all your colour choices! I'm subscribing now :))
Thank you so much!! Thanks for following along. I'll be back for sure.
You self drafted your first socks?! Amazing! The holes under the arms even after picking up extra stitches has happened to me too 😕
Yes, I watched a few videos of people making socks here on YT and figured I’d just give it a go! I felt like I understood the general construction of a cuff down sock to try. I made many mistakes on my first sock and had to rip back many times but the second one flew of the needles thanks to my notes!
As for the underarm holes, some people told me I can close them with the with some scrap yarn. I have no idea how to do that and will need to do my research. It’s frustrating because I picked up extra stitches to prevent the gaps but it still happened! 😵💫
You’ve inspired me to try folded down cuffs for socks!
Good luck closing up the holes! Let me know if you find a good method - I’ve just been winging it and hoping it isn’t too noticeable 🙃
Your knitting is perfection. ❤
You're so kind thank you!
my new favorite podcast!🤭
Thanks Jordan!!
About the underarm holes: you can just take a bit of yarn and pull the stitches together on the wrong side. It's very much invisible on the right side and wearing the piece for a while will cause some pilling or felting in high impact areas. Which helps these parts become a bit more solid :)
@@knallfroosch thank you for the tip! i will definitely try this!
Congratulations! This was fabulous!
Thank you so much!
excited to see what you do next 👏🏾
Yay! Thank you!
Great video by another Jersey girl. Your talent and enthusiasm are a wonder.
Hi! Thank you so much :)
Wow you inspire me to pick up the needles again❤
Ah! Happy to be an inspiration!!
Hello from New Zealand great socks, beautiful work😊
Thank you so much! :)
I've missed so many chapters of your life! Love that you're married with a baby! Love you still!
@@marithecreative Hi Mari!! Wow it’s been a long time! Happy to run into you here! Hope you’re well ❤️❤️❤️
@@hanaanbonet I’m great 😊 Glad to reconnect through fiber arts 🧶
im so glad my algorithm brought me here!
Your sock fabric is so smooth/perfect. 👍
Thank you! Mini ChiaoGoo circulars really changed the sock game for me!
Love this! 👏🫶🧶
Thanks Chloe! :))
Quick learner. Congrats to you! 😊
Thank you!
If you like the after thought heel but the fit of a heel flap and gusset you may like the Simple Shortbread Socks by Lindsey Fowler. She has an amazing design that helps that fit. I took a class last March with her and she is lovely
Thank you for the suggestion. I will look into it :)
I really like your rings(: May I ask where you got them?
@@liviasknittingpodcast thank you! one of them is from cashmere cactus and the rest were found second hand :)
love it ❤
Thank you! :)
