- Skyrim meets Valheim in the new Fantacy Survival game from Hello Games, the creators of No Mans Sky. Today we check out the new trailer for Light No Fire Gameplay! Light No Fire is a game about adventure, building, survival and exploration together. Set on a fantasy planet the size of Earth, it brings the depth of a role playing game to the freedom of a survival sandbox.
A Multiplayer Earth
Carve a life together. Meet players from across the globe, build a life, explore and survive together. Construct persistent buildings and communities, or strike out alone to discover the world for others.
A Procedural Earth
A truly open world, with no boundaries at a scale never attempted before. A massively varied and dense planet filled with immersive biomes, unique enemies and valuable resources to discover.
A Fantasy Earth
Light No Fire presents you with an ancient earth to uncover. One where you're not the hero. Thick with lore, mystery and a constant fight for survival. Inspired by the adventure, charm and imagination that we love from classic fantasy.
An Unexplored Earth
Every mountain can be climbed, and below them lie endless vistas, oceans and continents perhaps no others have seen. Who will climb the tallest mountains, who will find the deepest sea? Set sail across vast oceans and rivers, ride wild beasts through fantastical landscapes, fly dragons over undiscovered landscapes.

This is actually brilliant, because they've very clearly just reused the NMS graphics engine with some new assets. Movement is the same, environments are the same with new sprites... excellent way to leverage their existing IC to make a massive new game relatively quickly.
I don't think 5 years is quickly.. probably has another year or two also so 6-7 years. and the assets aren't really reused, it just looks so similar because it's the same engine and a similar art direction
@@neronah7349 With their code, they can sit back and let it create itself to a certain extent. I expect most of the time taken is writing the story, directing the story, creating story assets and doing voice and animation etc.
@@moodswinggaming2972You are assuming too much about the story, the game doesn't look like it's very narrative focused.
You say that like every game has a unique engine...
except this has been a thing for ages. Almost every game company reuse their previous plugins/code/assets/ etc. Hence why there is a focus in makig things as modular and universal as possible so that it can be implemented to any new project easily
"Other people just ruin everything." So much truth in so few words.
This game actually looked really interesting to me. Hands down the most exciting thing I saw on TGA.
yes, besides the Ori-Action RPG game
@@MrCristor ???

@@MrCristor ohh for real, this one looks great. Thanks for the info
This could be a fresh start for skyrim players 👏✨️
Procedural generation = dogshit most of the time unfortunately.
I don't see it. Doesn't even seem to have dungeons. Just a big empty world with monsters on it and players who will just built stuff. Doesn't sound at all like Skyrim.
@@vandango901I agree, this builds fake expectations for people
It's nothing like Skyrim, but I can see displeased Ark players jump on this.
@@vandango901 it was just announced... give it time kiddo
DUDE! Light No Fire looks like the best game at The Game Awards! I am so hyped for this! Playing the video back very slowly and looking frame by frame at every part of the screen you can see so many hints at gameplay elements and the environments that looks so fascinating! Imagine the possibilities of a complete huge entire planet like this!!! The characters look so interesting too!!!
They mention RPG elements, so I'm hoping you can progress your character by learning recipe's or skills to assist other players with too.
looks nice , i just hope it dont become Anthem 2
@@benjamintan6750 dude, this game is simply a reskin of No Man's Sky (and i say this in a good way), if you play NMS you will see NMS everywhere in this clip, i even say this, if Hello Games want they could simply pack all this and make an update tomorrow with all this for NMS.
And it's been in development for 5 years already.
"Light no Fire" AND "Crimson Desert" look like the best upcoming games.
It looks interesting and Hello Games have built a very good reputation with how they handled No Man's Sky.
Well while we wait another 10 years for a new Skyrim We can play games like this 😅. I think this is the most likes I’ve ever gotten! Thanks you all😊
there won't be another Skyrim, except for updates
I was a junior in highschool when Skyrim came out. I have NEVER been so immersed as I was when I started that game. It wasn’t just that I wanted to keep playing- I was really there and the world around me ceased to exist. When I was thrust back into reality my mind never left.
I’ve never felt that level of immersion again.
Can they recapture it? The odds are stacked against them.
@Joellllllllll they did it with morrowind, with oblivion and with skyrim, they'll be able to do it with tes6 for sure. Everyone's a little scared right now because starfield is the most mediocre game they've ever released, but we have to remember that starfield was a completely new concept they tried to get right and they just didn't hit the mark. Or maybe starfield was made p3rfectly the way they wanted it to be and the community just wasn't as into it as they thought we'd be. But the elder scrolls have been their best made games forever, they're better at making tes games than they are fallout games by a country mile. I have no worries for tes6, especially since they've been working on it for so long, slowly but surely. If the game needs to take another 10 years, so be it. Across all platforms and most editions, modded and vanilla, ive put around 9k hours into skyrim for the same reasons you love it: the game pulled me into the world and didnt let go. If it means it could truly be the last game I'd ever need to play for the rest of my life, tes6 coming out in 2033 is totally worth it. I'd be 39 years old at that point, but I'll have another 40+ years to play the game
They’re making a fortune on Elder Scrolls online so they don’t care about Skyrim fans anymore. Now they’re selling mods for Skyrim that should be free because they’re donations.
@@billbradley2480 I don't know about making a fortune. Eso is by far the worst tes game they've ever made. Tes isn't meant to be an mmo, it's meant to be a single player game through and through. And if it was making a fortune, they wouldn't have released the anniversary edition after 4 or 5 eso dlcs
This looks like something up my alley...
I think Sean Murray learned his lesson and is probably taking what he learned from all the time with no man's. I'm happy the game looks the way it does and I can't wait till it drops.
It will be similar to no mans sky so there are some things that will be taken from there
1. you can play multiplayer or single player sessions
2. The building will be much more easier and have some build tricks to make amazing bases
3. There will be something similar to expeditions in NMS where you do a questline for time-limited rewards and they will probably return later on
4. Egg breeding like NMS it will have a system in place to change the size color and personality of your tame
5. First person/settlements and reputation
6. Pirates or bandits like in NMS
7. Unique encounters
8. Companions that are Ai
9. there will be different species with a back history
10. Lastly there will be upgrades/runes for staves swords armors etc
And pvp off permanently
And a creative mode, hopefully.
@@RonnyWelles Absolutely
Needs actual good combat cause Nms combat is trash all around.
Dude you have no idea what the fck you are talking about lmao
This game LOOKS like it’s gonna be great, and Hello Games has done a fantastic job with No Man’s Sky since release - but I can’t help but be fearful of a lack of story or content. If it’s just a big world to explore with my friends, I’m gonna be so bummed out
that's honestly what im expecting, a great base for a game with no immersive direction
but you just described minecraft, a infinte world to explore with friends with very little 'story'.... although i'd say MC has more 'craft' than NMS... and tbh it looks like a reskinned NMS with some minor tuning here and there to gameplay to keep it interesting... but I'd play a medieval version of MC any day, even if it's this.
@@foreverspellman Minecraft is a SANDBOX survival game. The point is that being a base game for people do what they please with, they give you the TOOLS to do what you please. No man’s sky doesn’t have nearly half the creativity. You can’t use nms as a base game for all the mini games in Minecraft, or make red stone computers, or really do jack shit I’m nms that you can do in Minecraft. That’s why Minecraft doesn’t need a story or any sense of direction. A normal ass survival game like NMS gets extremely boring when there is nothing you’re meant to do. Imagine playing raft without any quests, that’s what nms delivered on launch despite their promises. And honestly I could see them doing the exact same thing with a game like this. They may be decent world builders and devs, but that doesn’t mean they understand player immersion. Comparing a game like this to Minecraft is like comparing legos to fucking GMod. Literally not even in the same realm of capabilities.
Yeah, I'm half expecting a shoddy launch with no content only for them to free update fix the game over the 2 years after. I'm down to try it out 2 years after launch.
agreed, there needs to be a proper 40+ hour story to it, that they can continually expand on with free DLC, the story just continues until they cbf anymore with it. it could get to the point of having a 400hr + story to it. that would be really dope.
This looks so promising! I wonder if there will be any kind of classes that you choose at the start and can develop, or instead you can switch between play styles as you go. Also it would be cool to if theres like race specific perks or passives of sort. Overall looks stunning and I really hope it turns out well. Looks like it has so much potential!
Based on Hello Games history, none of that will be in the initial release. 😅
Sounds like you want to play Dragon's Dogma 2.
@@dudeistpriest1
But we'll get far more than what was promised in the long run.
@@MrNote-lz7lh Yeah, will definitely check out this game 2 years after release. Probably gonna be a sick game by then.
Looks so good! Need more games like valheim!
Indeed. I am OK with dual-consent PvP but not the free-for-all PvP like Rust/PubG and other games where you're constantly ganked by a small group of powerful 12-year-olds.
I'd love for this to be more like Valheim but idk if that's what we're actually going to get, I don't think this trailer reveals much tbh.
This doesn't seem like its going to be anything like Valheim. This is fantasy no mans sky. Still really cool. But man, people need to get their comparisons right.
They took so many different elements of popular games, skyrim, BOTW Legend of Zelda, Valhiem, and dark souls. I cant wait to play!
Frankly, i think they just reskined NMS here, i can even ricognize the dragon mounting animation as the ship animation.
So, what aspects of those games did they take? Because I don't see any of them in this. A game that actually has done that is Enshrouded. This really does seem to be No Mans Fantasy. Which still means its going to be a good game.
This is what I've been waiting for!!! No Man's Sky's story is actually very good and written by a great writer. It's the most meta game story of all time and the ending actually makes you consider reality and what it means to be alive. It's also a persistent universes, but it's very easy to find an empty planet. Same with an Earth sized world. That is so big, if you want your own space just avoid the major cities. Plus I doubt there will be PvP, so this will be more like a shared game than an MMO.
It’s about time Valheim gets some love
It's a very popular game and often referenced. They are just slow af with adding things to the game. Because why would they rush, after making tons of money with it already? It's frustrating.
@@ethio6308 I hear ya...love the game but haven't been back in a year whille waiting for some new content.
Sean posted a photo with Todd I felt like I went into the multi verse ahhhhh😂😂😂
This is giving me shivers, this is the kind of stuff I'm looking for, but I can't help but be worried that it's too good to be true.
No Man Skyrim
I actually enjoy how it's done in no mans sky. I don't like the idea of sharing just one planet with idk how many people
If it's like No Man's Sky, you can turn off multiplayer or have a mode where it's invite only. I'm hoping they do the same for this.
@robertlawrence9000 hopefully they make it like that. With how feral online players can be it'd be much appreciated if we can just go solo and avoid the griefers
@@catastoph2939 I hope so too
You can always play solo. However, I think the multiplayer option will be more interesting. Having a greater density of player made content will create the potential for towns, cities, and just interesting builds to visit and explore.
@@robertlawrence9000 NMS has that too. And honestly, I believe that part of why it works it's because people usually only learn of the city when it's mostly complete... Otherwise there would be Grievers everywhere
I hope there will be a 'chaos invasion' and world boss appearance mechanic/events. That makes every inch potentially 'not empty/useless' at certain points.
I have more than 2100 hours on No Man's Sky, I'm definitely getting this.
Having playing a lot of NMS i can expect that the game will have similar features , like different species with different language and lore that you'll need to unravel .
Hopefully there will be a big secret like ancient civilisation ,we can see an red orb at end of the trailler that is similar as the Atlas in NMS .
I'm really hyped for this game , and i hope the lore and story element will be deeper than in NMS !
This looks sick! Like Ark+Valheim. This is going on the wishlist for sure.🎉 Did you all see the giant?
Love the Oblivion Music in the background
I was hoping you'd talk about this! This and Blade are the main games that actually look interesting to me. Can't wait!
Great video and I couldn't be more excited for this game after what I've experienced on No Man's Sky. 🔥👍🏾
The rabbit looks so fluffy. Its very much ready to be put into some stew.
Now without jokes, this looks fun and if they use the lessons learned from no mans sky this game could be genre defining.
Assuming there is player trading and a deeper crafting system here, this could be the greatest game since SWG. I'm (cautiously) stoked.
Saw this last night. Insane potential, can say this is what I was most hype for.
I thought the same thing about No Man's Sky. It never lived up to it.
Considering no man's sky had such a rocky launch and eventually became the incredible game it is today, I really hope this game doesn't suffer the same fate. Like they've been through this once before, hopefully the devs don't make the same mistakes as they did with nms
I'm sure they've learnt their lesson
I really hope
I think they said they've been working on this for the past five years
@@ScionStorm1 that's definitely a good amount of time to develop a game like this
Well they have 10 years of experince right now, and they aren't dealing with 255 galaxies and 18 quitillion of worlds, just one single Earth size planet.
from what I can gather here in the trailer, pretty much everything they've shown is somewhat repurposed from no man's sky. It will be interesthing to see if they can expand a bit more in the medieval concept of this game. For now, I'm more afraid of a No man's sky 2 (even if it's good now) than a dev's worst nightmare (like the launch of nms) lol
I want to see mining, economy, good building/survival style workshop progression, magic, and reason to tame things other than travel (maybe like farms). Also open world bosses, but it seems like we def have that already
Saw a yt ad for this and was thinking, man this looks like valheim and no man’s sky. Not knowing who made it lol
Pretty interesting, would love to try it. What's deserved to be said, is that being able to focus on a single planet's randomized generation system, for one static total play, is a fairly more achievable inclusion of details diversity and abundance.
I will totally play this... If they have private servers
From what I gather, the scale of the world is 1:1 with the earth, with players being thrown into server shards according to their region and ping. Considering we as 8 billion people still haven’t uncovered a lot of the planet, I think a few thousand people on a server with a map the size of the actual earth is gonna be ridiculously sparse, and the whole “other people” griefing your structures is both going to be incredibly rare, and also probably something you can opt out of.
Light No Fire looks incredible.
That oblivion music though ;)
I like the idea of one persistent world/server; there was an MMO called Worlds Adrift that tried it, but if there’s PvP it will be every player for themselves
I hope they continue working on the flying animations and feel, as it looks exactly like flying a ship but with a reskin.
Taking off is really chunky looking.
I love that every other game Danny looks at, is still in the Skyrim category.
No Man's Sky II 😊
This game looks amazing! You could literally play it for years, exploring the planet it will be like a real adventure! I can't even imagine all players in the same world, not sure how they would do that..
Dude shut upppp
Finally, someone recognized that the bird at 1:58 in this video is a kingfisher! Others have guessed hummingbird.
0:41 that scene, coming out of the water, looks like straight out of Skyrim
It's actually a call back to the original No Man's Sky trailer. you will get out of the water an see a ship flying above you...
Already loving this
I'm a Skyrim fan and all my brothers love Valheim. This might be the next thing for us! Hoping for a release soon.
0:56 This could almost be a trick. You could basically recreate this whole shot in No Man's Sky. They even a "magic" sci-fi staff and a capes now.
I think that this is going to be a Birch World setting. Lookup the megastructure by that name, it's the biggest possible spheroid (planet shape) that can be built within known physics. After No Man's Sky being so scifi, Hello Games is probably aware of the concept, and it fits really well for a massive, continuous fantasy setting that uses Clarketech for its magic.
This quickly became one of my most anticipated games along with that Tower of (something) 😂 it's a very similar game
That red orb at the end has to be an atlas from no mans sky.....fcccccckkkkk I can't wait
Not really played Valheim, but this looks great. Definitely on my radar now. Thanks for the video
Wow, this is like the upgraded version of the game Chimeraland.. similar mechanics, similar weapons, diverse race to choose from, similar beasts to hunt, freedom to build house anywhere, pets look so cool and a map in a globe form.. 😮😮😮
If it is truly the size of earth this is going to be insane. Imagine playing on this with millions of people with only a loading screen between province/country. Servers with flying mounts disabled are going to be incredible.
Yeah but it's a procedurally adventure game.
So imagine sea of thieves, without the quests and with the world generated.
No real objectives, nothing handcrafted.
Great no man sky is insane good so can wait for it ! in no man man only the quest/story part is only part lackyng on the long run,i hope that part will be a bit more work on. the intro part with empty land part i think is not finished yet or not optimised enough to show all the foliage.
Re-skinned No Man's Sky in a fantasy setting? honestly? count me in. I loved NMS.
i think some people don't understand how gigantic a planet is, to fill a whole planet with good content is impossible well if you have 100 - 200 years maybe but i'd rather have a smaller world with quality content
The moment they emerged from the water reminded me of spore, which I loved. I'm actually tired of all the survival building games, but this one has my attention
it looks very interesting and it seems to have a lot of potential, I just hope that Hello game learned its lesson about open-world MASSIVE games and that is that meaningful activities and missions are necessary for a sense of progression(like No Man´s Sky kinda has now) and I hope they implement it because a large and detailed world is good but a large and detailed world with great missions and objectives beside the sandbox stuff has the potential to be just perfect.
Hey love your content I’ve been watching for years and I was wondering if you plan on playing the new avatar game it’s an amazing game well built if not it’s all good keep up the good work much love
With some of the art direction i wouldnt be surprised at all if the Atlas is canon in this game too. Lot of atlas reminiscent objects. And it would be fitting. Maybe all hello games future projects will canonically be in the domain of the Atlas.
I thought the same thing. Definite Atlas vibes.
That giant had a knowledge stone symbol on its face. I wonder what knowledge it will impact upon interection.
"Other people ruin everything." Truer words have never been spoken. I am very much looking forward to this.
The last thing I would have expected from Hello Games is a prequel to No Man's Sky, but here we are! Cautiously excited...
It looks beautiful and amazing hopefully it comes out next year 😊
I hope theres rarity levels on different coloured animals/body parts. Like a 2% chance for a white and red dragon or something. Would give it a cool opportunity to try find better looking / rare mounts
theproblem witha server where everycan build what ever they want never goes well unless you have a really powerfull insentive like eco you have to build your houses properly to be effective so works fairly well.
I really did not expect this from last night's show.
I'm sold, next game to look forward too. Hopefully I can come out of my shell and make some friends
Somme runescape like quest and skill systems implemented in a modern player friendly way would be cool .
looks like an updated Valheim, Survival games are my favorite and this looks like it will be lots of fun!
NGL, ever since I played NMS a while back, I had almost the exact vision of this game as my dream game. An actual OPEN-world game, encompassing one giant planet with many biomes. Cant wait to see it when it launches.
It wont be perfect during launch, but it can only get better from there since I can trust the developers with their passion for NMS' continuous improvements. Light no Fire should improve in the near future too.
I imagine this will be similiar to no mans sky. I also kind of suspect the world will be very large, but I also suspect like how No Mans Sky has several galaxies that you need portals to travel between, there might be a portal system and several "alternate Earths" kind of thing, but just my guess. I am excited for it, but Hype Responsibly. If it does take after NMS, there will be a story that is really just a slow introduction to the games mechanices, which I'm personally fine with, the NMS story isn't too bad.
That looks amazing!
Can’t even articulate how exciting this sounds. A fantasy game with a map the size of earth populated by player-made civilizations and cities and settlements. Who knows, sections of the map may even evolve into nation states! Probably more player interactions than No Man’s Sky but there is no doubt they will still be rare and memorable considering the scope of the world. The devs learned so much from NMS, I feel very confident they will deliver yet again. This could be one of the best games ever made
fun fact, tropical water is usually warm, around room temp on a very good day, the deeper you go, the cooler it gets however but yea, just throwing that in there. but then again it is on an alien fantasy planet soooo who am i to dare tell hello games how to make something amazing, i will be under my rock lol
I still play NMS till today I can't wait for this
It really needs to have a *reason* to explore it and interact with the NPCs this time, and it could be great.
I hope they put more combat in it, make it a actual game not just a half hearted sims game with extra needs.
Skills and perks not just attributes and affinities, one thing I loved about Skyrim was that it had perks which added something new to your build which effected how you played the game massively and in a good way not a +1 here -2 there...They have hunting by the looks of it but what about quests, curious about that too.
Maybe unique artifacts pertaining to armor/weaponry could be added, that is a fantasy-game staple.
I feel you of course can have your own server probably going to be called free play mode like in NMS. But i think for the main multiplayer it will be a persistent sandbox server.
And ill find a way.... To make it through today!!!
Imagine discovery cities and settlement, or whole countries formed by players literally half way around the world.....the planet will be huge and consider how long it takes to drive from the top of the uk to the bottom, them image how long it would take to drive to Australia - approx 134hours at 60mph or if flight speed is double that 67 hour just direct flying....but I assume there will be quicker ways
This could if done properly could create a 'global' supply chain mechanic where the top traders in cities will coordinate with other cities constant exchange of goods and trade
It could be really cool.
Could you even imagine a world war for resources and territory years into its life
I'm so excited for this game. Along with games like valheim, these are the type of games that really appeal to me
О, да! Будем ждать! :)))
There are places on earth that are empty, not everything has to be jam packed with things, sometimes places are just barren
2:45 you can't expect every single area of a map to be filled with things. There will always be areas with little to nothing in them.
I know you're impressed by the underwater biome, but as a long time NMS player, I can that this absolutely on par with what I expect from Hello Games. They seem to be taking the amalgam of ideas that they used when rebuilding NMS through updates, and applying everything to this new survival rpg thing.
When it said below then lies… it means below the mountain ranges not underground. So far there is no mention or visual of underground
It looks beautiful and like something I would dive into 100%... except for that whole online only multiplayer survival thing... But like you said, if they include private servers that'd be cool. Also if there's an offline mode I'll be extatic.
the rabbit is awasome
You could create your own community in a hidden Valley 😊
"Light no flame" would roll off the tongue a little better.
To be valheim you'd need to dig down or dig the terrain which MANY survival building games struggle to do these days.
Hope they can figure out distant details like trees etc... that has been a weakness of Hello Games for a while now while it has been basically solved for just about any other developer. It's a LOD efficiency thing, obviously UE5 just generates those on the fly so can have a planet of trees if you like at a distance.
Hello Games just showed a masterclass to Bethesda on how to actually No Man's Skyrim with Todd Howard in the front row.
I suspect both NMS/LNF are interconnected somehow (i.e. in the same universe). Unlike NMS, this world has developed to a medieval level with more swordplay and magic than ray guns and spaceships. That being said, im actually excited to get my hands on this via console.
Skyrim playthrough??
I just hope that it has a singleplayer mode like No Man's Sky. If so, I will probably be playing this game for a long time coming. A world where I tame and ride creature in a fantasy world is a great dream for me.😊
I see a lot of people echoing this sentiment; asking as someone relatively new to gaming, what is it about single player that makes a game preferable?
To me, the inter-human multiplayer dynamics of such a large open world seem fascinating and I feel like it would be such a richer experience than single player.
@@jayjayhooksch1 That's if you get nice people. If you can get grieved, it's going to limit the player-base to trolls and people that have the skills to handle trolls. It won't be for me because I suuuuuuck at PVP elements.
there is no PVP in here. Just shared world. Im playing no man sky in multiplayer and I never meet anyone in any planets I have visited. And earth is so big 8 billion people already living in earth we still haven't occupied most of the spaces.
and playerbase will not reach 1 million for sure. 500K max unless it surpasses expectations.
@@Katniss0000 I mean, depending on how they do it a shared world might still provide opportunity for grieving. I'm excited to see how it turns out though it looks like a lot of fun!
I'm with you, I have always preferred single player to multi player. Just let me explore alone, just like what was mentioned in the video. I don't need to see giant phallic shaped towers in the distance or someone who thinks a village filled with tiddie houses looks cool.
Thank you for another great video.
Exactly what I’ve been waiting for
Holld up. Ddid you say SKYRIM? Where do I put my money?
Reminds me of what Pax Dei is going for with the huge world that’s built by players. I am always just worried that it will be like games like Ark or Conan where people ruin it. I want to be able to explore and enjoy the world. Not have the entire server land claimed. Or explore and there are just huge box’s that people built everywhere. Pax Dei looks interesting as they only have certain areas you can build in. Which will form towns over time. I am hesitant to be too excited for either of them but if they pull it off right it could be very interesting.
I need this game in my steam library :D
