Thank you for sharing your build video. I love the Valheim building community. You all give us lowly pleebs, incredible ideas and the awesome builds you come up with. Very inspiring & so cool! Cheers!
Saw you share your base on chiselchips channel. I found him pretty recently and through him i found you :) I'm happy to say I've got 2 new great valheim builders in my youtube feed. Thanks for sharing your creative ideas with this amazing valheim community, i appreciate it very much!
I was doing it manually, You're way to do it is much better, they're snapped perfectly! Very good guide! Funny is how small doors are often used in spacing builds, but they're never used as a door XD
Good to see other people coming up with methods for doing these things. I haven't been in the game in about two and a half years, so i can't remember exactly how i did it, but the method i was using was a little different.
@@sarah4and10 So gotta ask, do you know if it increments cleanly across the 1m beam? Like, if you made a train of doors and 1m beams, would it have an overlapping snap point?
Makes building the pillars easier and smoother though it takes a bit longer with the extra steps. Though what caught my eye was that chandelier in the background on the left at the beginning of the video.
Nice octagonal pillar. You can do something similar (with the doors) to create an almost perfectly round one, but it ends up looking pretty big and is a of of work, so I don't use it much.
Actually I didn’t. The columns are Versaugh’s design and this awesome trick was shown to me by Whisper81. I asked and received permission to do a tutorial for this.
@@sarah4and10 Hehe, I seen Versaugh do it before but not like this! and while this is a lot of work to do, it's the perfect way to get it right! still really insane how someone figured this out, no matter who did lol
@@keblin86 You are so right! When Whisper81 showed me I was amazed! I have watched him build many times and he likes things very precise. It is very satisfying to see and to get things to go that perfectly.
If you listen I give credit to Versaugh and to Whisper81. I asked for permission to share from both gentleman who graciously granted it and Versaugh gave me a shout out for the tutorial. I appreciate you watching out for proper credit being given!! Hope you enjoyed the video.
Okay, just going to be blunt here... SOMEBODY OBVIOUSLY has TOO MUCH TIME on their hands! LOL However, as an Engineer, I have to respect the ingenuity that went into researching and playing with the pieces until this was a feasible working piece. Bravo Sarah! Thanks for sharing! 👏👏👏 💯❤🔥
Phenomenal guide! The number of ways that the 4m door can be used is staggering.
Thank you. It’s the best building tool!!
Wow!! This is so much faster than manual placement. Great idea.
Thank you!!
Awesome guide sarah thanks for sharing!

Thanks for sharing 🎉 Your whole base looks really nice. I'll be sneaking over to have a look 🤩
Thank you!! Please do!
Nice to see you implementing these! I did them in a build a while ago but forgot how nice they look!
I love them, and now they are so much easier!!
Super easy and outstanding result.

You just made simple, something I have struggled with. thank you

Oh my! Never used those colums because it always seemed like such a hassle to eyeball it but - this is really clever! Thanks for sharing!

Wow! That is so nice! I've always just free placed those beams. This is super useful. Thanks for an awesome tutorial!
You are so welcome!
You mastered both the building technique and the camera positioning for a video tutorial making it so easy to do. My congrats!
Thank you!!🥰 Glad you enjoyed.😁
Great job Sarah!!
Thank you!!
Thank you for this little column guide. I've been trying to work out something like this on a build and now I will finally be able to do it.
You are so very welcome. I am glad I could help.😁
This deserves more views

Very good advice, thumbs up ❤

@@sarah4and10 no prob, why didnt tell me you had a channel, would have subed earlier lol
I knew how useful wood doors are for getting roughly 1/2 and 1/4 spacing, but never thought to do something like this.
Seriously the most useful piece for building with snap points!😆👍🏼
Looks nice, I will use it in my current build. Explained really well!
Thank you!! I’m so glad you’re able to use it!!
Thanks for the tip! Just got back into the game recently with my buddies 😁 gonna use this for sure
You’re welcome and welcome back to Valheim!!
This is a good and reliable technique for a pillar this size. Can be done even in the stone age. Good contribution to the building community!
Thank you 😁
Very nice, thanks team! And great job on the tutorial Sarah :)
Thank you too!
Nicely jobbed! Thanks, gonna use that for my self!😊
Awesome! Thank you!

Yes this trick is one I use now every time I make these pillars. The satisfaction of the clean placement just makes me happy.
Glad I found this video again. I need to do this today.
It is so great for those of us who like the pieces placed a certain way.
What a nice technique! So much better than free-placing beams around a central one.
I 100% agree! Thank you!!!
Great tutorial! Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Really cool wood column!
Thank you!! They add such depth to a build!!
Those look great. Does stacking beams together in this way add to structural integrity at all?
Thank you! As far as I know it does not.
I watched this video and ran it the same way. It's really easy and accurate. It's innovation. It's the best. Thank you for sharing.
Glad it helped!
this is a great video, i learned some good stuff. subbed. polite suggestion: new mic :)
Thank you! LOL I know my mic is awful! Working towards get better audio equipment. I’m sorry it’s so bad.
Excellent tutorial.
Many thanks!
Oh my god, that's such a good method. Didn't know wooden doors increment like that
The wooden doors are seriously the best tool in our Valheim toolbox!!
@@sarah4and10 So gotta ask, do you know if it increments cleanly across the 1m beam? Like, if you made a train of doors and 1m beams, would it have an overlapping snap point?
@@vallahdsacretor4839 if I understand what you are asking. I believe so. I have overlapped pieces by overlapping the doors.
@@sarah4and10 I'm more asking if a door can divide a beam evenly. I've had builds that would benefit from a .5 meter snap point
@@vallahdsacretor4839 yes they do. And to make sure I went and checked to make sure.😁

It really does!! It’s worth the time though, for me. Thank you!! I may do a quick tutorial for that if you’re interested.

wonder if any larger beam can be made with say core wood might be a bit wavy but ill a hve to give that a try to @@sarah4and10
I love this, can't wait to try it. I wonder if its made any simpler with the new snapping system.
Thank you. It works very well with auto snapping, so have not had to use the new snap points.

besides just the look does this have any added support for the roofing? or is it just for Apperal
Unfortunately it doesn’t add any extra support. So just for appearance.
That's genius:)

Does that actually increase constructions' stability though?
Only if you use iron beams in the center. Otherwise it is purely decorative.
