Sidenote for people who really want stone: find one of those dilapidated castles and bring your stonecutter. Break its foundation and watch the whole thing crumble. Boom, free stone.
Side note, when grinding metals other than iron, save stone, it's a stupid amount

Another idea, bring your pickaxe and undermine the whole thing - no need for stonecutter.
A small river, barely knee height

till you bring your pickaxe and terraform the whole place into the amazonas river
The best way to farm stone is those giant stone pillars in the plains. Pickaxe the bottom out so its floating in the air. If it doesn't immediately crumble, keep taking away the lower pieces until it all crumbles. It takes about 5 minutes to chip it all away but you'll get somewhere around 300 stone.
"...and then repeat until you're happy..."
I ran out of stone first.

Liked and saved. Thank you for not abandon the game when hype disappearing, and still experimenting. You gave me useful tips. Maybe I could figure these out myself in time, but your experiment and opinion have high value. And of course, I personally would like to see a stone castle from you.

I wish we had basic rowing boats, just for rivers and such, that bridge looks functional but in valheim isn't so much at the moment.

Would love to see your version of stone castle build Total. I just finished a greydwarf nest farm using wolfs, and it looks to be working and fully automated at this point, past having to add raw meat to the breeders. Maaaaannnn so many wolfs
Just finished building my new main base, built around a greydwarf auto farm, using wolves and a breeder setup. I also have a boar breeder. I have to keep culling animals as it eventually kills the frame rate. Plus the constant".......AAAWOOOOOWOOOOOOOOOO........."
I find that if you build a roof over the spawner it halts spawning and resumes when you remove it. It's basically an on / off switch for the auto farmer. Also putting foundations under it does the same.
@@schroedingerscat2.054 Oh man I cannot imagine having my main base around the wolf breeders, I have to mute my game when I portal to my nest farm from all the howling. Usually if the population gets out of control, I cull a few and take away their food and that's fine.
I'm using a design where I can just place the food on top of the breeder and they both eat, easy to place, easy to remove. Working on a 2-star boar breeder now in the pen I originally made for wolfs at my main base.
@@JamesTheVikingGames It is a bit noisy but they're just singing me the song of their people. I also basically have unlimited free wood,stone ,resin etc. i can fill around eight basic chests with each in an hour or so. i'm also slowly filling my moat with wolves so it's only going to get worse.
Also the spawner looks amazing as the centrepiece to the base. it sits in a cutout section of the floor and is visble on all three main floors. This, however makes the wolves a must unless I want the greydwarfs to run wild downstairs.
I like the feeder idea, My first boar breeder can sometimes be a pain in the arse with trying to get the food to land on the floor.
2 years later the greydwarf farm works just using braziers and auto burning them to death lol

Hi, I am Chilean and your pronunciation is perfect!
About flat ground. Just lay down a wood floor plank first and snap in the stone floor to the height of the wood plank. This will be much more forgiving to land that isn't perfectly flat. With black marble using the 4x4x4 square cube instead of the 4x4x2 floor piece is even more forgiving. Also, I like the look of stone over the marble, but if you want a wood floor over the stone floor, using marble looks much better as it won't clip through the wood floor like stone does. Also building completely in Marble leaves rooms that are hard to brighten up. Stone is best for a room that looks more confortable (but makes no diference for the comfortable bonus in the game).
Oh mannnn, i'm a straight dude, but a channel who knows not only what crenellations are, but merlons? I'm in love lol great videos though. I've never played valheim and I'm not big on survival games, for example I only play minecraft on creative mode and use it as a kind of 3D painting program. Since I've never played valheim and don't want to go through the hours and hours of gameplay until I get to a point where I can make a castle and town and palace etc, these tips are very helpful for me to get right to the buildin : D
If you just want to play creative and skip the rest of the gameplay. Look up how to activate developer tools and you can unlock everything to start building straight away ☺️

But I've noticed there are 3 billion items I can spawn with cheats, would it be worth continuing to write these all down or is /god /debug mode and /ghost enough to get me through to all the craftable stuff quickly enough ya think?

Hey, glad you enjoy the content sorry took so long to respond your message was held for review for some reason. But yes I use two copies of the game and use free fly to record on my main pc and build on my laptop 🙂

Ooooh 2 copies should I do itttt, or think I might have to these Timelapse shots are just so damn pretty 🙈 my laptop would JUST play the game with decent frames so maybe I’ll downgrade graphics on that and record on main gaming pc, thanks for the tips man, and fair play for going to that amount of effort, that’s not easy!!
I want a "Stone Wall 4x2 with a 2x2 return left and right" build piece. Then I can lay up a 4x2 wall in running bond and it will look right. As it stands, you can only have corners that overlap 1/4 of the length, and unless you plan everything out on graph paper beforehand, it won't come out right.
I would really like a guide on what do do after defeating Eikthyr. There are lots of getting started guides but none helping me find what to do next
Search info on the "Bronze Age." But basically, here's what you should do.
1. Explore black forest for burial chambers. Mark any copper deposits you pass by on the map.
2. Search burial chambers for surtling cores.
3. Build a smelter and a kiln.
4. Make bronze
5. Kill the Elder Boss. You can find his location on the map from runestones in the burial chambers.

The full circle has never worked for me. I do the 2 blocks, turn one tick, do 2 blocks, etc. When I get to the last block, I always have a small gap.

The exposed wood beam - it will deteriorate over time and rain effect right?
Some will, like on top of the wall, but it still looks cool. It'll only deteriorate to 50%
if it is connected with a stone, then no (it has to be on top / side of the stone)
I'm truly having troubles in grasping how the iron pole work. I couldn't keep on scaling high with my chimney even with the iron poles, and i was much lower your level....🤔
So is it impossible to have stone or black marble floors on a 2nd floor??
Another funky protips:
1. Rise the ground for even higher building.
2. If you plan to do wooden beams alongside the stone then make sure these are the CoreWood and are attached to the ground for stability.
3. Remember to ALWAYS start building with CoreWood beams (frames method) it will allow you to plan your builds with stone way easier.
Is it just me or do you sometimes say durability when referring to stability?

I’m don’t have any stone tips. Where do I get them or do I break them off of existing stones somehow? /joking
So, I was hoping I could just stack up stone walls. But every time I get about 6 high it crumbles. Tried embedding core logs but it didn’t work
Try reinforced iron logs
@@TotalXclipse so if the logs are vertical and touching the walls do they give stability?
I tried this with core logs and it didnt make any difference.

To be fair. Building with Stone always causes me to do it like the "professionals" do with real buildings. I mean the logical aspect of placing them like that. IRL if you simply stack it up, it would collapse. So there´s only one way to do it right.
Actually, "stack bond" is an acceptable method in real life, but it's not used much anymore because staggered joints are required to achieve a fire rating. However, "running bond" allows greater height.
Iron doors and then put stones in it is Most effective

Guide should just be "get 20 billion rocks, cuz you'll need that many."
