I’ve been searching all day for a video like this. I have a 2021 Mazda 3 and apparently the fuses on the driver side foot cabin are hot all the time and I wasn’t aware until I tried to get everything connected for my viofo 229 pro dashcam. There is no acc fuse on here and it’s stupid that Mazda did this. Only option we have is to snake a cable to tap onto the main fuse box under the hood or use an obd adapter which I haven’t looked into. Another option is to have it connected to the cigarette lighter but I want parking mode when the car is off and this is not a good option. I’ve been searching all over RUclips on somebody snaking past the firewall and I might end up doing this after all just to have the dashcam hardwired. Thanks for the video!

Would a usbc converter to a cigarette lighter adapter work too?
Ugh I want one but this is above my skill set
Why would they delete something so basic. So many accessories, like an air pump, etc use this universal 12v port.
Is there any simpler way to do it ? I’m just trying to have the cigarette cha toer option if I want to air up my tires and to install a dash cam
You can wire it inside but it will be constant power, (ie: wont shut off with the car)
yea all you can do is turn off the dashcam when u leave so it won't drain ur battery
Is Mazda 3 going to be a similar process?
has anyone here successfully done this and how long did it take.
What fuse did you tap into?
Didn’t tap into any ecu fuses because it’s risky. The one used is labeled “for other accessories?” Or something of the like
What does the " other accessory" refer to? Wiper, audio?
No idea. And not sure why Mazda labels it as such.
All we know ilt is labeled as such by Mazda and at least it is not labeled ecu or abs or something more critical like that. Use at your own risk.
