      @@JDPyrotechnics idk ive used a lot of their products...military and civilian...professionally. its generally speaking a 50/50 shit/amazing product. ive seen a highly maintained gau21 turn into a paperweight....thats like 30k down the tube that EOD ended up cutting up to get a live round out of the machine gun. they sold thousands of pistols that were demonstrated to ND if hit after a certain operation of the trigger. a company that makes a standard market product at a custom market price can go the way of the wind. The m240 is highly reliable but susceptible to a form of user error that should have been engineered out of the weapon. if you leave the safety on with the bolt closed and you rack it, it wont make it past the safety and will slide after friction can no longer hold it causing the bolt to shear the safety and cause the 240 to become a runaway gun. FN just confuses me. having the kind of market they have but they cant seem to dominate it except in the heavy weapons market, of which their weapons fail amazingly often.

    It took a lot longer to get the Ruger 57 in then what I thought because of this pandemic when it hit back in March of 2020 and had trouble finding ammo and finally found some and took it to the range and was disappointed as soon as I rack the slide because it was failing to load and it did that several times then I got it the fire and I like the way it's shot but then it started acting up again and I called Ruger and they set me up an appointment for UPS to pick it up to go back to Ruger in Prescott Arizona and they said they will take care of the problem or send me a new gun. Ruger is top-notch when it comes to customer service oh, they are the best at it and can't wait to get it back to try it out again.

    SS190 has a steel penetrating tip, and an aluminum core. Think of the SS109/M855 design, but with aluminum behind the steel tip, and only 31 gr. FN still manufacturers this load as it's the primary duty load for the 5.7. It has never been available commercially on the US market, because ATF said it's AP, and FN will only ship it direct to LEO/MIL agencies with proper purchase orders. However, it's commonly available for $150/box on GunBroker..
    You don't need SS190 to poke through soft armor anyways. Sell hello to SS198LF, or Elite Ammunition T6B, Devastator 3.09, Or Vangaurd Black Dragon Fang..

    The major issue that still remains with ammo supply: FN is the sole producer of brass for the 5.7x28mm because of the coating they use. FN cares little about civilian sales, so it will be interesting to see if another company makes brass, or FN pumps out more of it. The American Eagle bullet is very short, and is prone to set back or popping out of the case mouth, because the factory rounds are glued in vs a mechanical crimp.

      If you haven't already, read the full Fort Hood shooting report. It was not shot placement and it wasn't the '22lr has killed a lot of people' arguement. It was the fact that the 5.7 fires a high velocity round that is quite devastating. Everyone shot was stopped in place, regardless of where they were hit. People shot in the legs were stopped, bones broken.

    • @sweet65mustang
      @sweet65mustang 4 года назад +8

      @@ChanDaKillaMan it is not 'all about shot placement', that definitely plays a part but if you think 2 people getting shot in the exact same place, one with a 9mm and the other a 300-378 weatherby would result in the same survivability, well, I just don't know.
      The are a lot of people saying 'it doesn't matter what caliber you use, it's shot placement' but the are studies proving that the more energy a bullet carries, the less survivable it is. If a 9mm passes close to your heart, you're in trouble. If a 357 sig passes that same path there is increased hydrostatic shock damage to the tissue.

      Chris Hartwig : for sure. It’s like new model cars. I give it at least a year to work out the kinks. The. If it still sucks, I won’t mess with it.

    You can load the mags by pushing the rounds straight down. You don't have to slide them in from the front.

    CMMG just came out with an AR upper and magazines that will work with a standard AR lower. Cost starting around $700. Really hoping the round cost starts coming down

    I hope someone will make and sell a version of the ammo with bullet construction similar to the m855a1 so that it will have good armor penetration and good stopping power.

    It may be in poor taste but I want to remind people that say this is a crap caliber that the Fort hood shooting showed that a handgun in this caliber is absolutely lethal and has serious stopping power.

      Plus it is capable of so much more once there's more manufacturers of the ammunition. Thus far the ammunitions been pretty neutered. But some of the boutique custom ammo manufacturers have been making outstanding improvements but extremely expensive for the custom Boutique ammunition.

    In my very limited experience, the AE stuff doesn’t group quite as well as the FN cartridges in my FiveseveN. However, I’ve got a metric crap tonne of it, so it’s going down range just the same. :)

  • @EchoSigma6

    Just when you thought you had a good enough gun collection, this shiny new stuff shows up. Now you’ll buy this pistol just because you (fill in the blanks for justification) and then you’ll need the matching carbine (when that comes out) that takes the same magazine for the sake of tactics and commonality. And then someone else like CZ will have a better mousetrap version all hyped up in RUclips with a “like” from Hickhock-45 and the cycle repeats. Fun ain’t it? Sometimes you can never have enough toys and you buy it because you can.

    • @supergoat06
      @supergoat06 4 года назад

      There will be plenty of different manufacturers bringing out ammo on future. There are shops that make custom rounds (expensive) such as elite ammunitions but looking between 30-60 bucks per 25 shots depending on type of shot ordered
